CTU has identified Liam and are tracing his known bank accounts. Milo has found a money trail linking Liam with a local businessman named Ted Cofell. Ted Cofell was suspected of laundering money for Slobadan Milosivich and Victor Drazen in the 1990s, but he was never arrested due to lack of evidence. At any rate CTU alerts the local airports that Ted Cofell was a person of interest in their investigation.

President Donovan prepares for his meeting with Hekmetyar later today. Hekmetyar will likely demand an aid package for Afghanistan, and an amnesty for taliban soldiers. Donovan was willing to give amnesty to most foot soldiers, but he wanted a few turned over to stand trial for war crimes. But he also feared that if he pressed too hard, Hekmetyar's own supporters might turn against him, and ruin any chance of real peace with Afghanistan.

Ted Cofell made it to the airport with his daughter Courtney and son Ted jr. As they begin getting out of the car an airport security guard recognizes his picture and goes over to question him. Ted sees the guard coming and quickly puts the gun in Courtney's purse before anyone sees him. He knows he's more likely to be searched than she is. As the guard begins questioning Ted, they are observed by a sniper. This sniper knows that Ted Cofell knows too much, and if he starts talking to the police, his employers will be very angry. The sniper doesn't know what intel Ted has, he's stayed alive by not knowing things. At any rate the sniper shoots Ted, splattering his brains all over the sidewalk. The crowd at the airport begins to panic, among them Courtney and Ted jr. Courtney now realizes that her father wasn't just being paranoid, clearly someone really was out to get them. She quickly grabs her little brother and runs away.

Split screens show the panic outside the airport, the sniper trying to flee the scene, CTU working on any links between Liam and any other known terrorists, president Donovan preparing for the upcoming negotiations, Jack and Audrey arriving at an abandoned warehouse. Their contact should have all the documents they need to flee the country for good. But their contact isn't here, and it's eerily quiet. Jack has a bad feeling about this, he and Audrey try to leave. But before they can leave the trap is sprung. Twelve men and women with guns quickly have Jack and Audrey surrounded. The leader of this group is Tony Almeida. Tony and Jack were friends once, but Jack and Audrey's plot got a lot of people killed, including Tony's wife Michelle. Jack and Audrey surrendered, Jack was already plotting how to escape, but it became unlikely that he and Audrey were going to get out of this alive.
