The days never seemed to slow down. Time was always moving faster than anybody wanted. Although it wouldn't be something to complain about. Rather than sitting at a desk all day doing paper work, there they were, Roden, Jaron, and Tobias.

They were suppose to be meeting their wives and children down at the carriages by the front door, but instead they found themselves in a large room connected to the library with many instruments, including the sackbut. It wasn't their fault they were going to be late, but it didn't really matter who's fault it was, they were late nonetheless. But then again it could have been there fault. It really depended on the way you looked at it.

It could have been their fault because they were the ones who raised their sons. They're the ones who their sons took after, creating a mess like they had.

Beasley had somehow managed to get his hand stuck in the pipe of a sackbut.

"Will someone please explain how this happened?" Jaron asked, trying to sound as annoyed as he could, but he wasn't hiding the fact that found the situation was quite funny, maybe because his son reminded him of himself too often.

"It wasn't my fault." Beasley tried to explain.

"Nothing ever is, is it?" Keaton asked.

"I mean not usually."

"I find that very hard to beli-"

"Still, nobody has answered my question." Jaron interrupted.

"Right well, we found this plant-" Mathis began.

"Peperomia Green" Beasley interrupted.

"Well, apparently its rubber like form is strong enough to brake glass if you have enough force and if the impact is strong enough... so we thought it would be a good idea-"

"We?" Apparently nobody could finish a sentence around here, this time it was Keaton

"Yes, we, remember you were on board too."

"I told you just because there was a chance of it working doesn't mean it was a good idea."

Beasley joined in the conversation, "I don't think anything we do is a good idea, so technically, I already knew it that."

"But Mathis clearly didn't because he was the one who got the plant stuck down the sackbut in the first place."

"So you are blaming this on me?"

"No, i'm just saying it wasn't my fault either." That made Mathis lift his arms in the air and drop them.

"Hurry up and finish the story, we have to be in the carriages in ten minutes." Jaron said ending the argument, but again started a new one.

"Why do we even have to go to Bymar for Christmas, I like spending the holidays here." Keaton complained

"We all do, but not only is your mother Crown Princess of Bultain, but this is also the 6th year we have declined their invitation to celebrate in Bymar and we unfortunately have ran out of excuses, all the reasonable ones anyway." Jaron explained. He did have other excuses, but Mott said, 'We were cursed into spending every holiday in Carthya' was unrealistic, and 'The Queens mother is dying' was just going to far. "So are you going to tell us how this happened or not?"

"Well once the plant got stuck in there they told me I had the smallest hands, so I had to get it out." Beasley explained.

Roden laughed, "Small hands, just like his father." He clapped Jaron's back with his hand.

"I will claw your tiny ears off." Jaron retorted, they all got to much pleasure in making fun of each other.

"With those tiny hands? I don't think you could." Tobias said, still working on the sackbut. Then the room erupted in arguments. This went on for probably, 5 minutes, and would probably go longer if Tobias hadn't shushed everyone.

There was a loud giggling coming from the library.

It was Katherine and her 'friend', Arron Browne, a young boy who worked at a leather shop in Drylliad. There wasn't anything wrong with him, he was smart, kind, and had polite manners. But still, Tobias didn't like him, not one bit.

Tobias's face hardened when he spoke, "You guys keep working on his hand, I have something to take care of before we leave."

"Give them a break, its not that big of a deal." Jaron tried to reason with him but Roden and Tobias just laughed.

"I can't wait until Pippa starts courting someone. That poor kid will be intimidated by you even if he's taller than you, which he probably will be."

Beasley snorted and Mathis hit him in the back of the head with his hand.

Jaron glared at Roden, "Pippa is constantly complaining about how women don't have enough rights, I think she might have the idea that marriage or courting is just another trap for her, and Katherine and Arron aren't together, they haven't even kissed."

"We don't know that" When Roden said that, Tobias jaw tightened.

There was another wave of giggles coming from the library.

Tobias made two fists with his hands and marched out of the room into the library. In there Katherine was by the main entrance locked in a tight embrace with her so called, 'friend'.

"Arron Browne, always good seeing you." He was lying, but he still needed to have manners no matter who it was. Katherine immediately jumped back.

Arron's eyes widened, "I was just dropping of the rest of the leather bindings for the library, sir."

"Good. Katherine, dear, we have to be in the carriages in almost 5 minutes, do you have everything you need? We are going to be in Bultain for awhile now"

She looked at her father with gritted teeth and said, "Yes, I was just saying good-bye"

"Alright, but its best for you to hurry and meet us down at the carriages, hope you have a good holiday Browne."

"You as well, sir."

It didn't take long for Imogen to get her sons hand out of the sackbut, all he had to do was let go of the Peperomia Green and it slid right out.

So within minutes they were all in the courtyard about to pile into the three carriages in front of them.

"I still can't believe it. Your seventeen, and still got your hand stuck in a sackbut. Eight year olds aren't even that boneheaded." Pippa was making fun of her older brother, one of her many favorite 'hobbies'.

"Maybe, but at least all I did was get my hand stuck. Your the one you started a fistfight."

"Hey, the fight was never my fault. All I was trying to do was speak out against the tradesmen. Those barbarians claimed, 'I could never do their work'. I mean, who has the audacity?" She put balled her hands into fist and placed them on her hips.

"They said that because you don't know anything about trade agreements."

"Yeah right, we all know it was because I'm a women and I 'don't know what i'm doing'." Beasley just rolled his eyes and decided to not start another argument.

Meanwhile, everyone was waiting for Katherine, 'probably still talking to boy', her father thought. But then seconds later she came stomping through the front door, trying to make it very clear, she wasn't in the mood for talking right now.

Her mother didn't care that she wasn't in the mood or missed the very obvious hints.

"Katherine?" Amarinda made her way over to her daughter and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"

"I'd rather not talk about my feelings- or anything- at the moment."

Amarinda noticed the glare Katherine was giving her father. She let out a huge sigh, "Oh no. What did your father do this time?". Katherine just let out a huge huff, "Alright, not in the mood right, I get it.". Amarinda made her way over to her husband. "What did you do to make her so angry?" Tobias also just let out a hump, and crossed his arms over his chest, "Tobias" she narrowed her eyes at him.

"I didn't do anything, she just has a very short temper, takes after the both of us."

Amarinda let out a faint laugh, "Yeah, I don't believe that for one minute."

Tobias raised an eyebrow, "You don't think she has a bad temper?"

"Not that, the fact that you didn't do anything."

"I really think you should ask her, but let her cool down down first."

Amarinda sighed again, "Alright, I guess. But please don't be something stupid, I don't need you two acting like children"

"I won't be childish, thats what Keaton is for." That made the both of them start laughing.

Once they were all settled into their carriages, Jaron, Imogen, Mott, Beasley, and Pippa in one, Harlowe, Roden, Athora, and Mathis in another, Tobias, Amarinda, Keaton, and Katherine in the last, they were off to Bymar.

In the front carriage, Imogen had to give a specific set of rules to Pippa on her words.

"Remember, in Bultain, people easily get offended. So please, no talking to Lord Norman about things he says that you don't agree with. I know it might be hard for you, but we really can't afford to apologize to another country that our daughter is someone that takes things too literally."

"That was one time." Pippa murmured

"By the way that goes for you too." Imogen said to Jaron

"Me? Why me?"

Imogen made a face, "May I need to remind you of what happened in Hocksferd with Lord Edmund."

Jaron crossed his arms and leaned back, "Well I'm sorry, but when you mention how someones wife is 'too humble for their own good', you deserve to be put in your place."

Imogen opened her mouth to say something, but ended up deciding it wasn't worth is. Then Beasley cut in, "That sounds like a compliment."

"Yeah, well, it didn't sound that way in the moment."

They all just rolled their eyes and decided it would be best to change the subject.
