New Sweet Baboo
Sally Brown, Charlie Brown's little sister, has always referred Charlie's best friend, Linus Van Pelt, as her sweet baboo. As always, Linus would get frustrated with Sally and say, "Sally, for the tenth time, I'm not your sweet baboo!" Not listening to Linus as usual, Sally would say, "Isn't he the cutest thing?" Frustrated, Linus would think to himself, "Oh that Sally Brown! Why does she always have to refer me by that stupid nickname? Why I hope that one day that she'll find some other guy to call him her sweet babbo, then She'll be his problem instead of mine."
One day, During December (around the special, "It's Christmastime Again Charlie Brown), Charlie Brown and Linus went to see a Christmas play, and Sally was in it as an angel. "When does your sister show up Charlie Brown?" asked Linus. Then Charlie Brown answered, "Right after the dancing sheep Linus. She comes out and says, "Hark," and then Harold Angel sings." "Harold Angel?" questioned Linus. Then Sally appears on stage. By mistake instead of saying "Hark," Sally shouted out, "Hockey Stick!" and got embarrassed. "I can't believe I said "Hockey Stick" and not "Hark" like in the script," thought Sally to herself. "Sally you blockhead, you ruined the whole play, your screwing up is just as bad as your blockheads brother's faults!" Scolded Lucy to Sally. And then Linus gave Sally the kind of look saying, "Sally I'm ashamed of you, this is why I never want to be your sweet baboo because you sometimes screw up," and then he leaves with Lucy.
Sally feeling bad for her screwing up in the Christmas play, Charlie Brown tried to make her feel better when he said to her, "Don't feel too bad Sally, I do a lot of screwing up myself." "Thanks big brother," said Sally, but she still wasn't happy. Also she thought that someone named Harold Angel was going to sing. One morning later, everyone was awake at Charlie Brown's house, but Sally was still depressed about the school play accident, as she was still in her pajamas, wishing that it would be nighttime forever so she wouldn't have to get out of bed, but then she got up and decided to make the best of her day, including having breakfast made by Snoopy and Woodstock.
The rest of the day went on like this, Snoopy, Woodstock, and all of Woodstock's cousins were playing outside making snowmen, snowforts , and snowangels. Charlie Brown was reading a book by the fireplace. Sally, however, was still moping about her mistake. "I wonder if I'll ever find my sweet baboo if not Linus," Thought Sally. Then there was a knock at the door. "Hello,?" asked Charlie Brown. There was a boy with orange hair and a green coat saying, "Hi, is Sally home? My name is Harold Angel." Then Charlie Brown said, "Hello, yes. Sally's here, come right in." "Thanks," said Harold.
So then Harold told Sally feeling flattered "Hey Sally, thanks for mentioning me in last night's play." Not feeling bad anymore, Sally smiled and said, "You're welcome Harold." And so it soon became love at first sight. Sally has found her new sweet baboo, Harold Angel, and started dating ever since. Sometimes now and then Sally would see Linus, with Linus thing to himself, "Oh no, not her again. If I have to her her call me her sweet baboo one more time, I'm going to run away from this town and go to another town where there's no girls to call me their sweet baboo.
But this time is different. Sally would give just a short sentence saying, "Hi Linus, how's it going? Well gotta be on my way, I'm going out with my sweet baboo Harold now. Have a great day." And so Sally goes out with Harold Angel. Although Sally didn't call Linus her sweet baboo anymore, Linus doesn't feel relieve about that at all, instead he's thinking to himself, "Sally has Harold as her new sweet baboo now, but why am I not happy about it?" as he watch Sally and Harold walk away towards the movies.
