Complete AU. As president Donovan tries to hold peace talks with a taliban leader fanatics try to disrupt the peace process. Meanwhile Jack Bauer has been on the run for over a year, but an old friend/enemy is looking for him.

25. Chapter 25

Mason is calling president Donovan with a situation update.

.

Mason: We have Navi Araz in custody, but so far he's said nothing.

Donovan: And we have maybe two hours before the homicide bombers strike.

Mason: Yes sir. We have confirmation from two sources about his involvement with terrorism. I'd like your permission to use some neccessary interrogation tactics.

Donovan: As much as I hate this idea, it might be neccessary right now. You have my permission.

Jane checks her watch again.

.

Jane: If Jack Bauer doesn't show up in the next ten minutes, you're both dead.

Tony: Then we're dead. Jack's not stupid. As far as he knows I'm still on the same side as you two, he won't come back for me.

Mahmoud: He will for his beloved Audrey.

Audrey: He knows you want to kill me anyway, getting Chloe out alive was the best he could do. My guess is they'll be out of the country very soon.

Jane and Mahmoud feared they were right, but then Jack Bauer walked right in the front door. Mahmoud frisked Jack, and found no weapons.

.

Jane: Well, you've finally come to accept what you've got coming.

Jack: Just let these two go.

Jane: You're not in a position to demand anything.

.

Then Mahmoud and Jane heard something outside. While Mahmoud went out to investigate, Jack quickly grabbed Jane's gun and held it on her. Chloe got the drop on Mahmoud and held him at gunpoint. Jack then untied Audrey and Tony.

Tony: So what now Jack?

Jack: I don't know. You came here to ask for our help in stopping Dubaku?

Tony: Yeah. I figured whatever is about to go down is more important that our feud.

Jack: Unfortunately CTU didn't believe me, they think I was just trying to divert their resources and escape.

Tony: There is one way I can think of to convince them.

Jack: Yeah, I know.

Split screens show president DOnovan nervously pacing in his office, Navi Araz being denied pain medication in an attempt to make him talk, Jamey Farrell being held in CTU custody, homicide bombers preparing to strike their respective targets, Jack calling CTU, specifically George Mason.

Mason: What is it now Jack?

Jack: I'm with Tony Almeida and Audrey Raines. We have information that you want. We'd like to turn ourselves in.
