Kim: I wanted to see you again. I've called a lawyer who's agreed to take your case.

Jack: You don't have to worry about that.

Kim: Actually I do. They plan to seek the death penalty against you.

Jack: I know. I'm going to plead guilty, and hope they show me some mercy. Either way I do deserve whatever they do to me.

Kim: I felt the same way about myself once, remember that?

Jack: I remember.

Kim; I was all kinds of messed up. I didn't want to live, didn't want anyone to live. I spent twelve years in prison, but even when I, like everyone else, was ready to give up on me, you never did. I won't give up on you either.

Jack: Whatever happens, thank you for allowing me to meet my first grandchild.
