At CTU George Mason approaches Nina Myers with a request.

Mason: One of the bombings was at a little league field.
Nina: I heard.
Mason: One of the wounded is Kimberly Bauer's husband Jamal. Would you be willing to tell them this news.
Nina: Why me?
Mason: You have a much better bedside manner than me, you have a history with Jack Bauer. And even though he's a war criminal, Jack deserves to have this news broken to him gently.
Nina: Fair enough.

Nina goes to se Jack and Kim. Neither has seen Nina in years, although Jack had heard she was being pardoned.

Jack: Nina, it's good to see you.
Nina: I'm afraid I have some bad news.
Jack: They're seeking the death penalty against me and Audrey.
Nina: Probably, but there's something else. It's about your husband Kim.
Kim: What about Jamal?
Nina: He was wounded in one of the bombings. He's been taken to a local hospital, they don't know if he's going to make it.
Kim: I need to go be with him.
Jack: I understand. Just know that I'll be praying for him.
Kim: Thank you dad. I love you.
Jack: I love you too.

Meanwhile Mike Doyle briefs George Mason on what happenned at Camden Yards.

Doyle: We got lucky on that one. A security guard noticed the unattended backpack, alerted the bomb squad. We might end up with just a few deaths on that one.
Mason: Yeah, lucky. What was the guard's name?
Doyle: Gary Miller. You suspicious of him?
Mason: I'm suspicious of everyone. We question the guy who found the bomb, just like the police question the guy who found the body. We'll ask mr Miller to come here. Maybe this will pan out, maybe not. Make sure he believes we just hope he saw something that might help our investigation.
Doyle: I'll get on it now.

Kimberly Bauer puts little Jack in his car seat and makes a call to an old friend, Danielle. Kim and Danielle served time in prison together. Danielle had been part of a radical anti-abortion group, even tried to blow herself up at a clinic. But she couldn't go through with it, and surrendered. Danielle and Kim bonded, having both been part of radical groups, they were even lovers for a time in prison. They helped each other, became almost a mini-support group and helped each other to do better. Now, Kim needed Danielle for a different favor.

Kim: It's Jamal, he was wounded at one of the bombings.
Danielle: I'm so sorry. What do you need from me?
Kim: I'm going to the hospital, would you be able to watch the baby for me?
Danielle: Ofcourse, but don't you want to bring little Jack there?
Kim: I'm worried it will upset him.
Danielle: Okay, I'll come over to your house immediately.
Kim: Thank you.

Kim did not tell her ex-girlfriend the real reason she needed her to watch the baby. If Danielle knew the real reason, she might get in trouble with the law again, and Kim didn't want to do that to her friend.
