Chapter 2

Pointed news

Okay, time for chapter 2. Since all of the reviews were a series of good jobs and making me decide on MJ for the pairing, I'll skip them this time.

And now, my fellow Marvelites... Let's kick it up

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Within an underground laboratory a man in a blue suit with a flattop hair cut and a mustache that made him look quite similar to a certain Austrian historical figure was standing next to a brown haired man in a wheel chair and a blonde haired man in a black outfit.

"Now then before the demonstration, Mr Jameson. There is the matter of your downpayment." The wheelchair bound Englishman said before the man in the suit opened a case filled with money.

"For once, Smyth. I have no problem with cost." Jameson said, gaining a grin from the man in the wheelchair who then pressed a button before a blue and green suit with red lenses and a large tail-like appendage on the back.

"So that's the suit I'm gonna where for the job?" The blonde man asked.

"Trust me, Gargan. You'll be loving the suit when you're up against that menace." Jameson said with a grin.

"So, I become nearly unstoppable and get one of the best paychecks of my entire career. Christmas came early this year."Gargan said with a malicious grin before Jameson began to walk away.

"Just remember. Neither of you is getting the rest of your money until Spider-Man is dead." Jameson said before walking out of the lab.

(Meanwhile, with Peter)

Peter was sitting as his computer in the base he had dubbed 'the Cradle' while working on a project before sliding his chair over to a small square object.

"Okay. The formula seems sound. Everything seems to be good in the practicality department. Just needs a test." Peter said before he clamped the square to a pedestal and in front of some gel before taking out a gun. "Here we go." Peter said before making the shot. He then put the gun down and went to inspect the gel. "Yes! A 45 round made as effective as an airsoft pellet. This will be great for a suit and I can make huge bank if I patent this." He said with a smile before looking at the clock. "Ooh. I've really been burning the oil. I should head out to get some lunch." He said before he exited the Cradle.

A short time later, Peter found himself in an all to rare situation for him. Simply walking through the city and enjoying a quiet day when suddenly he heard a call of "Hey! Someone stop him." and looked up to see a man running with a purse as fast he could from a girl with red hair that Peter recognized as his friend Mary Jane Watson. With the snatcher running in his direction and no time to change in to his suit, Peter threw out his hand and choke slammed the robber to the ground, catching Mary Jane's purse mid air before a beet cop ran in to cuff the man.

"Here you go, MJ." Peter said as he handed the purse back.

"Thanks. Good timing there, Tiger." Mary Jane said while still panting slightly.

"No problem at all." Peter said, returning the smile that his friend was giving him. "Hey. I was just about to head to Mic's for lunch. Care to join me?" He asked.

"Oh man. I could go full Terminator on a burger right about now." Mary Jane said as the two began to walk.

Several minutes later, the two arrived at a diner that had a golden statue of a man outside as a memorial that everyone would do a respectful double tap on before entering. Once inside, the two both ordered large double bacon barbecue burgers with pickles, and sautéd onions and mushrooms with a side bacon cheddar fries.

"So, how have you been, MJ? I feel like we haven't talked in a month." Peter said as he took a bite of his fries.

"I'm doing pretty good. How about you? With all that happened with Liz and Gwen..." Mary Jane trailed.

"I've had a lot of time to think about it and I think I've gotten over it." Peter said before he went on to elaborate. "With Gwen, I think I felt like I had to return her feelings because of how strongly she felt and with Liz... As awful as this is gonna make me sound. I was going through a lot at the time and I really just needed a win and Liz deserved way better than that." He said.

"Well, it's good that you're moving on and I don't think needing a win makes you sound bad. You've had a bad couple of years. Anybody would feel the same, Tiger." Mary Jane said as without a thought she placed her hand on Peter's own.

'Woah.' Peter thought as he felt a sensation like he had never felt before upon making contact with Mary Jane's hand and on her own part, MJ could feel the exact same sensation. "Thanks, Mary Jane. I'm glad to know that you're on my side." He said with a smile.

"I always will be, Peter." Mary Jane replied, as lost in Peter's eyes as she was in his, the two of them moving closer and closer to each other there eyes beginning to shut until their lips were a hair's length from one another. Suddenly, Peter's Spider-Sense began to tingle and an explosion was heard outside, causing both of them to jump back before running outside.

Once outside, they looked in to the street to see a man in a blue and green suit with a large tail that was being slammed in to cars.

"We have to..." Mary Jane began before she turned around to see that Peter had gone, only catching a glimpse of his leg as he ran in to an ally. She quickly made an attempt to follow him only to find a dead end and not Peter. "Where did he go?" She asked herself before glancing up to a corner and there, tucked away in the shadows, Mary Jane saw the clothes that Peter had been waring stuck to a wall by a web. Her eyes widened as she came to the only conclusion that she possibly could before she turned around and ran out of the ally just in time to see the man in the blue suit use his tail to toss a car in to the air only for Spider-Man to arrive on the scene and catch it before it could hit anyone or anything.

"Young man, I will not have you roughhousing in my neighborhood." Spidey said with a faux scolding tone.

"About time. I've been trying to draw you out for an hour and a half trying to get you to come out." Gargan said before the spike on the end of his tail began to glow as he began to stab at Spider-Man with it.

"Hey give me a break. I'm not Beetlejuice here. I don't just appear when you crush three cars." Spidey joked as he dodged the stabs and jumped to the top of a lamp post. "So, whats your beef with me, tail boy? He asked.

"Name's Scorpion and there's no beef. I'm just doing a job." Gargan explained before shooting a green corrosive at the base of the lamp post, causing it to quickly melt as Spidey jumped off the post and went for a kick only to be slapped away by Scorpion's tail. He then quickly recovered and used his webs to blind Scorpion.

'Another guy put a hit on me, huh?' Spider-Man asked himself. 'Well, this time I'm ready for this one.' He thought as he pulled out a small device and jumped over Scorpion to throw it on to his back. 'Okay. Now to chase him off before any one gets hurt.' He thought before Scorpion extended his tail to make a blind jab at him only for him to dodge it and tossed a broken piece of the road to cause a spark to hit the exposed gas and caused an explosion that knocked Scorpion back and forced him in to a retreat.

'Alright. Now all I have to do is track Scorpion back to whoever it was that hired him.' Spidey thought as he went back to the corner where he hid his street clothes and grabbed them before he swung off, not noticing that Mary Jane was hiding behind a dumpster, a smile coming to her face at the site of Spider-Man.

After a several hours, Scorpion arrived at a warehouse to hide out and recover. Moments later, Spider-man arrived on nearby rooftop after having returned to the cradle to switch in to the second suit that Black Cat had made for him, and almost all black suit with pads on the joints with red eyes, red spider logos on the front and back, and red hourglass symbols on the palms.

"Okay. Just gotta play it quiet if I'm gonna find out who hired Scorpion. Good thing Felecia made me this stealth suit." Spider-Man whispered to himself as he he silently jumped between rooftops before landing on top of the warehouse and began crawling through the ventilation. Soon enough, the wall crawler was inside and hiding among the rafters. His eyes then widened at the site before him. The Scorpion, talking to Peter Parker's Boss, J Jonah Jameson

"I thought I told you that you wouldn't be payed until after I finally had that menace's mask framed on my wall!" Jameson shouted at the armored man.

"Relax. The Web head got lucky, but I'll make sure to get them next time. Just have my money ready for when he's dead." Scorpion replied.

"Well just get it done. It still makes me sick that that my son got out of the hospital with that menace still at large!" Jameson ranted as Spider-Man recorded the conversation while taking pictures.

'Don't delude yourself JJ. This isn't for John. This is all you and you've crossed the line by putting people in danger.' Spider-Man thought as he watched Jameson leave. 'I'll deal with you later.' He thought before he jumped down behind Scorpion "Well, I gotta say. Of all the people who hate me, I was not expecting old picklepuss to sick a super villain after me.

"It's not my job to worry about who pays for my jobs. Especially not when the signing bonus is this good." Scorpion said while gesturing to his suit.

"It is nice. Too bad it's about to get wrecked!" Spidey said before he began to rapidly firing web balls at the power suit clad man which were quickly swatted away with the tail of the suit. He then jumped up out of the way of Scorpion's acid spray and back in to the shadows.

"Where did you go!" Scorpion asked in rage before Spider-Man jumped out from above and slammed his fists down in to Scorpion's tail and smashed the mechanism for his acid spray. "Why you little..." He began as he attempted to stab at Spidey only for the hero in return to grab the tip of his tail and shove it in to a nearby junction box and knocking him out with the electricity.

"I think I'm getting better at this. I had much more trouble guys like Vulture an Electro were way tougher their first times out." Spidey said to himself as he managed to get Gargan out of the Scorpion suit and webbed him up before exiting the building. Once outside he pulled out his burner and sent a text to Captain Stacy to inform him of Scorpion's defeat as well as where to find and arrest him and who hired him. He then placed his hand to his right ear to put in a call as Peter.

"Robby. It's Pete, I've got a story for the evening edition. But you might not like it." Peter informed his long time friend and employer, Robbie Robertson as he began to swing.

Some time later, Jameson arrived in the offices of the Daily Bugle.

"Alright, people! Tell me you have something for the..." Jameson began before he noticed before he noticed Detective Watanabe.

"John Jonah Jameson, you are under arrest for aiding in domestic terrorism, aiding a convicted felon, and conspiracy to commit murder." Yuri said as she began to cuff Jameson.

"What are you talking about? I haven't..." Jameson tried to argue only for Yuri to play a recording of Jameson talking to Gargan and telling him that he wouldn't pay him until Spider-Man was dead. Just then, an African American man in peach shirt in burgundy vest and tie walked out of an office.

"Robbie! You have to help me!" Jameson shouted to the angered man.

"I don't have to do anything Jonah. I've gone up to bat for you more times than I can count. But this is too far." Robbie said before Yuri took Jonah to the elevator.

"Look at it this way, JJ." Jameson heard from above him and turned around to see Spider-Man. "At least with that mustache of yours, the skinheads will like you at Rikers." He said before he swung away while Jameson screamed as Yuri put him in the back of her car.

(At the Parker House)

Peter was sitting down at his couch while watching a news report about the Scorpion.

'I need to figure out who made that suit. Only a matter of time before he upgrades.' Peter thought before he look at his wrist. 'Maybe it's high time I did too.' He thought before he heard the ringing of his doorbell and upon opening the door, he was surprised to see Mary Jane at the his door step. "MJ. I'm sorry that I lost track of you at Mic's. I ran to get..." He tried to lie only for Mary Jane to put her finger on his lips.

"Peter. I saw your clothes webbed up in an ally and I saw Spider-Man grab them." Mary Jane said as Peter's breath got caught in his throat. Mary Jane then reached to the buttons of his shirt, meeting no resistance as she undid them to reveal the logo of his go to suit.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Well, there you go guys. I really hope you enjoyed this chapter. Next time, fallout from MJ finding out Peter's secret is interrupted by the need to protect her and himself from the burning rage of someone from their past. Until then and as always... Keep on keeping on.
