Hekmetyar made his press conference from Camp David. According to president Donovan's translator, he is denouncing the violence and asking all muslims to resist evil. President Donovan recieves a call from Haffley. It might be important, so he takes it.

.

Donovan: What is it, mr Haffley?

Haffley: I'm watching your friend's speech. My translator says he's calling for the blood of his enemies, that would be us.

Donovan: My translator says he's asking people to give blood to help the wounded.

Haffley: And I'm suppossed to trust that?

Donovan: I have three translators listening to the speech, at the State Department, from CTU, and the official White House arabic translator. I will check with the other two to be safe but yes, I trust my friends. You seem desperate to keep your job. Now you gave me your word that you would resign if the cabinet voted with me, I expect you to keep your word and resign.

Nina Myers makes her way to a vending machine for a candy bar and a soda. It was certainly better than what she had to eat in the Supermaz prison. Nina also used this opportunity to observe Adaeze visiting a comatose Kristen. She clearly cares about her friend, Nina wonders if CTU is wrong about the girl.

.

Diana White observes the news from her penthouse. She recieves a call from Mandy. Even after the terrorist attacks president Donovan is still determined to make peace with the taliban. He's even giving Hekmetyar cameras to spread his propoganda. Diana wants to make this terrorist pay for what he did to her daughter. Even if Hekmetyar wasn't involved in Jane's death, he was responsible for plenty of kidnappings, plenty of murders. Diana wanted to make him pay for this.

.

Mandy: Sabzi has agreed to help.

Diana: Good. So your respective teams will be ready to strike?

Mandy: We'll be ready.

.

Haffley sat at his desk, his letter of resignation stared him in the face. All it awaited was his signature, which was the hardest part for him. Maybe his translator was just telling him what he wanted to hear, maybe he just didn't want to lose his job. Still, Donovan was right about one thing, he did give his word. As much as it pained him to put senator Allen a heartbeat away from the presidency, he had little choice in the matter. Haffley signed his letter of resignation from the House of Representatives.
