December 1981
"Just... maybe I should take him with me." Lily said.
"No worries dear, Harry and I will be fine. you just go and make sure that little bundle of joy inside you is fine." Molly reassured.
"Are you sure? I can go another time."
"Dear, no matter how long you wait, he will stay the same age."
"I know, I know, I'm just a bit worried is all. It's the first time I'm leaving him."
"It's alright, I felt like this every time I left the kids. I felt like someone was ripping out my heart, but you have to do this for both you and him. You have learn how to let him go and he has to learn that mommy isn't always around."
"I know. Thank you so much molly. Bye. Bye Harry. Mama will miss you."
"Alright lets see that baby of yours Lily." Said the doctor. "Why are we at a muggle hospital with a muggle healer?" Sirius whispered "Becuae this way I get to see my baby and I don't care if you don't understand how it works. You will if you shut up. So be quiet and watch."
"Humph."
"Alright let's see" said the doctor as she put some ultrasound gel on her stomach which was a bit bigger than it was supposed to be. "This is ganna a little bit cold but don't worry, we will find out why your stomach is a bit bigger for the fourth month of pregnancy . Ok. Let's see. Oh. Ok. Now this isn't so bad."
"What is it? What's wrong?" Said Sirius urgently. "Nothing it's just.."
"What?" Lily said sounding a bit angry. Hormones probably. "It's twins. That why it's a bit bigger than it should be."
"What?" Lily screamed "I will give you two a moment to discuss this." She hurried outside. "Alright Red, calm down. We will be fine."
"Fine? FINE? How can you even think that? I can't have two babies! How the bloody hell did this happen?"
"Well Love, if I recall correctly, you were the one who was stupid enough to marry and sleep with James and since you already have given birth to Harry I don't think that this was a big surprise."
"That not what I mean."
"I know, I know, I'm teasing you. Anyway, I remember James saying that his mother had a twin sister that died very young."
"So you're saying his stupid thing gave me two babies instead of one because of his stupid lineage?"
"I'm saying that I am not comfortable discussing my brother's thing with his wife."
"You won't leave right? You will stay with me right?" She started crying. Damn those hormones, Sirius thought. He hated them. Last time was horrible and he didn't have live with her then and now... Merlin have mercy on him. "Of course not Red. How can I do that? I love you Harry and these two. How can I leave?"
He hugged her and realized that this was a payback for all the years the Potters and James had taken care of him. This was his way of paying back James and he loved it. His family was with him. How can helping out your family be a payback? He didn't know but he loved it.
February 1982
"Come on Harry just kick for daddy."
"James, I don't think he can kick on command." Laughed Lily.
"Why not?"
"The same reason you don't get aroused when I tell you to."
"Ok, fair. But still, I think...Oh My GOD! Lily, did you feel the little kick?"
"Of course I did, you git. He kicked me." Lily said giving him the death glare.
"Oh right." Said James looking cautious. "does it hurt when he does that?"
"Yes but..." Lily smiled as she patted her stomach "it's all worth it. And I think he likes you!"
"You think so?"
"First of all James how can he not? And second of all he kicks when you talk. That means he likes you."
"That's fantastic."
"I know!"
"Oh my god Harry. You are going to be so loved. You have three amazing uncles."
"Four. Don't forget Frank."
"Right. You are going to have four uncles who already love you so much and Two amazing aunts. And hopefully good parents. Oh look Lils, he kicked again!"
"I think that means he already knows that we are amazing parents." Lily smirked. James kissed Lily and said "I think I gave you my oversized ego when I gave you Harry."
"Maybe." She laughed and kissed him but then saw that he was dead and looking at her expressionless...
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Lily you alright?" Sirius said, panting. He had ran to Lily's door when he heard her scream. The memory was so life like. The dream was so real she felt like it was true. She remembered the first time Harry kicked for James and started to cry. Then she realized that Sirius had just rocked Harry back to sleep again. So they went down the stairs to the living room where Lily talked about her dream.
"It's alright Red. It was just a bad dream." He said as he tried to comfort her by putting his hand gently on her bump and rubbing it slowly, trying to soothe her.
"No it wasn't. It was memory. This actually happened. Not the part where he was dead but..."
"I know Red it's alright. I'm sure he's a bit mad at you right now for still crying this much for him after a few months I mean you're pregnant. You're supposed to be happy you should stop...wait, was that...?"
"Oh my god. They are kicking. My little girls are kicking. It seems they like you."
"Good, because I love them." He said and kissed Lily's forehead and bump.
"We are going to be fine Lils."
"Sometimes I lose faith in that sentence but then something like this happens and I realize that it will be ok no matter hard it's going be."
Sirius put one arm around her shoulder and one hand on her bump protectively. Lily put her hand on her stomach protectively as well as the both fell asleep on the couch smiling about the little kicks they felt every once in a while when they were asleep.
April 1982
"SIRIUS!"
"Merlin save me please" Sirius whispered to the sky before he shouted back.
"WHAT DO YOU NEED RED?"
"I WANT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES RIGHT NOW AND I CANNOT MOVE."
"ALRIGHT."
Sirius went to the kitchen and put a few chocolate chip cookies on a plate and took them upstairs to Lily's room. "Here you go Lils "
"Oh my god" Lily started crying. "I am such a bad friend. You let me stay here and I shout at you. How is that even fair?"
"No Red don't worry. I'm not upset, it's alright I get it."
"Ow ow ow ow ow ow" she said as she tried to move. "What? What is it?"
"Nothing. Just a bit sore these days. JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER I HOPE YOU'RE BURNING IN HELL FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME."
Sirius started laughing. "Really Red? Hell?"
"Yes. That son of a bitch better be in hell when I get up there, because I am sore in every possible direction because of him."
After Lily had a few cookies she started crying again. "Oh no Lils what's wrong?"
"I told my dead husband that I wish he was in hell. The dead husband I love so much. I am such a terrible wife." Her crying got louder Sirius sat besides her put his hand on her back and said "Lils I am sure he knows you love him and he understands this is just because of your mood swings. So calm down. I promise James is not upset. Ok?"
"Ok. You want some?" She said offering the cookies. "I can't believe my ears. Lily Potter is sharing her food with another person?"
"Do you want some or not?"
"I do."
"Then quit teasing."
"Yes ma'am."
"I am so glad Remus is babysitting Harry. I need some time to myself before these two come."
"Have you picked a name yet?"
"No James always said that he wanted his daughter to have his mother name, like when we named Harry after his grandfather. But now that there are two daughters I don't know what to do."
"You'll figure it out you always do."
May 16th 1982(so just a heads up, I am writing two timelines right now. Harry's birth and the twins' birth)
"SIRIUS!" Lily shouted.
"James! Honey." Lily said calmly.
"What is it Love?"
"Yes my love. You called?"
"I THINK MY WATER JUST BROKE. AND I AM HAVING CONTRACTORS. DO SOMETHING."
Lily hugged James and whispered into his ear: "I think my water just broke."
"But you aren't due until 29th"
"Alright Lils. Hold my hand. we are going to the hospital. Okay?"
"WELL APPARENTLY THAT DOESN'T MATTER TO THESE TWO."
"James?"
"Yes Love?"
"You know I love you right?"
"Yes I do. I love you too"
"Ok. Ok. I going to drop Harry at Molly's and come back and take you to 's alright?"
"Excuse me. My wife is having a baby. Her water is broken and she has contractions."
"Ok. Go but hurry. AAAAAAAAAA"
A few hours later
"Alright Lily you are fully dilated and ready to push." The healer said smiling at Lily and Sirius and Remus, who were holding her hands.
"Alright Lily. It's time to push. It's going to hurt a bit so I recommend holding your husband's hand." The healer said.
"You hear that Red? you are going to have your babies" Sirius smiled at Lily.
"No I don't want to push. What if I'm a bad mom? What if you're a better parent than I am?" She said as she squeezed James hand so tight he thought he was going to lose his fingers.
"Yes I know. I heard the bloody healer Sirius. Do you think that I'm deaf?" Lily said as she shot Sirius her death glare.
"Love ,listen to me. You are going to be an amazing mom. And I will do my best not to be better than you. Not that it's possible but I will try." James said as smiled at his beautiful and nervous wife.
"Lily I think he was trying to cheer you up" Remus said nervously.
"You sure? You really think I won't be bad?" Lily asked James with a plead to her voice.
"Well he needs to try harder" Lily snapped at Remus.
"Of course not baby. You are going to be amazing. The fact that you're worried shows that you are ging to be amazing. I promise you will the best mom in the world. Ok?"
"Ok."
"Alright Lily on my count three...two...one. PUSH honey"
"Alright Lily sweetheart I need you to push ok? Now."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA." Lily started panting. "Is it over?"
"No not yet honey. But you're doing great." The healer smiled at her. "Lily I believe in you. You can do this." James said as he kissed her forehead.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Wait...push Again"
"AAAAAAAAAAA"
"Wait... puuuush"
"AAAAAAAAAAAA." Lily felt something came out of her. And then she heard a little cry. "Lily. It's out. It's a girl. She's a redhead. She looks just like you." Remus said, smiling.
The healer gave the baby to James after cleaning it and said "here's your baby boy."
"Oh James he looks just like you."
"I know." James said as he started crying. "I can't believe I'm a dad Lils." Lily smiled. "James, honey, why is he so small?"
"I have no idea baby. No clue whatsoever."
"OK. Remus go with her. Do not leave her side even for a second."
"Of course." He said as he went with the healers to clean up the little girl. "Alright Lily..." the healer stated. "I already had a baby leave me alone." Lily whined. "Lils there's another one in there. You know that right?" Sirius asked. "Of course I know you bloody git. She's been kicking me for the past few months."
"Sorry"
"Lily push now" the healer said very urgently. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"wait...again"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"she's almost out. One more push and you'll be done. Wait for it...now"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA." Lily felt her entire body go empty for a moment. Then she heard a cry. "Red, she has black hair and looks just like you."
"Just go with her you tosser and make sure she is alright."
"Yes ma'am."
"Congratulations Lily. The babies will be brought up to you with your friends in a few minutes alright?" the healer smiled at her. "Ok thank you."
"Hello dear." Molly peaked into the room. "Here is Harry. He has been saying Mama, Paddy and Moony all day."
"Awww. Really? Sirius will be over the moon about this." Lily said as she took her son from Molly's arms. "In that dear there is no doubt." Molly smiled. "Did you miss Mama Harry?"
"Mama...wh...where paddy? Where moony?"
"Honey they will be back in a few minutes. Did you have fun with auntie Molly? Did you like her?"
"Molly...like."
"Hello." Remus and Sirius said in union. "Oh my god. My babies are here. Harry, sit beside mommy and look at your sisters. Ok?"
"Sister here?"
"Yes darling your sisters are here."
"Yay"
Remus gave Lily the baby he was holding. "Lily this is the first one. The redhead."
"Oh my god she is beautiful. Right?"
"Yes. Love." Sirius smiled. "Of course" Remus said looking happy "Absolutely dear" Molly said as she smiled at Lily. "Alright everyone. This is Emma Lily Potter. Emma because of James' mother Euphemia. Lily because she is a redhead just like me. And her god parent is the man that went with her. Remus Emma is you goddaughter."
Then she looked into Harry's eyes "Harry this is Emma."
"Emmmmma!"
"Yes honey, Emma" she said as she kissed his head full of hair. She gave Emma to Remus so he could put her in a crib and she took the other baby from Sirius. "Alright. When I was 17 I promised my best friend that I would name my daughter after her. She said she didn't care if it was a first name or middle name. She just wanted to be included. So everyone I want you to meet Mia Marlene Potter. Mia because of James' mother. She always told me to call her Emma or Mia. Now both her names will be here. And Marlene because of the best and truest friend I ever had: Marlene McKonnin. And her godfather is Sirius black."
Lily held her son in her arms as her husband brought their closest friends inside Lily's room. "Hello Lily" Remus and Peter said. "Hi Red" Said Sirius smiling like an idiot. "Oh my god hi Lily. Hi little guy." Marlene said as kissed the little boy's forehead. "You want to hold him?" Lily offered. "What? But what if I drop him?"
"First of all you won't." Lily said as she handed her son to her best friend in the entire world. "Second of all what kind of godmother would you be if you've never held your godson?"
"Oh mu god. Lily are you serious?"
"I'm is." She said as she pointed at Sirius. "But yes I am. You are Harry's godmother. Now give back my son. I miss him."
"No, no, you've had him for half an hour it's my turn." James protested. "My hoohaa is going to hurt for the next few weeks. I can't walk for a few days and I'm going to look fat for at least a month and it's all because you couldn't wait two minutes so that I can drink the bloody potion. I think it's my turn from now till eternity." She said as she shot him her famous death glare. James surrendered and gave her the baby. After a few seconds of looking at her son with love in her eyes, she turned around and found Sirius and said "Black don't you want to hold your godson?"
"But I thought Marlene...?"
"You bloody git." Lily smiled. "We're in the middle of a war for the love of Merlin's underpants. I want to be sure that there are two people legally allowed to take care of Harry should anything happen to me and James."
"Harry?" Sirius said grinning. "Yes Harry, after James' grandfather, Henry Potter."
She waited a minute before she took Harry from Sirius' arms and said. "So everyone I want to officially meet my son, Harry James Potter."
After Mia was introduced to Harry she was put in her crib. Lily thought about the day and realized that she had remembered everything from Harry's birth throughout the day and she didn't cry. That's when she realized that she was moving on and how scared she was to do so.
