Clans of the Unknown

Not remembering anything I awake next to the beach with a beautiful voice in the distance. Her voice getting louder.

"Wake up my child"

Sitting up my head hurts. "Where am I?"

Looking towards the ocean off in the distance. I see a woman, or I think it's a woman. I blink several times as I try to block the blinding light of the setting sun. I see this woman wrapped in shades of blue. A crown of seashells with some dangling along with her curls. Hair flowing with the wind. Brown or caramel skin being hugged by pearls, shells, and sea stars. Her gown well I was confused. The ocean hugged her waist like a flowy gown. Her waistline was wrapped in foam. Every curve was like a wave crashing against a rock. She was beyond words.

My head was hurting so much I do not know if I was seeing things, but I could have sworn I saw fish of all species swimming around her in the gown. I shook my head but that was a big mistake my head started pounding even more. I heard her voice, but I couldn't understand with all the ringing in my ears. I looked again and she was gone.

Getting up a bit lightheaded, I gain my balance. I looked dusting off my clothes and I look horrid. My capri's are torn, I have no shoes and my tank top has small holes here and there.

Close to night already I just walk not knowing where I am going. I can't believe I spooked myself with my own shadow. Oh man my stomach I need to find something to eat.

Looks like a carnival up ahead, maybe I can find something.

People walking past me, some giving me ugly looks, some even laughing at me. I adjust my clothes looking down ashamed.

"Hey you hungry?"

A deep masculine voice speaks to me.

Looking to my right I see this long-haired man standing behind a pretzel stand.

"Come over here I don't bite young one", as he smiles at me.

I walk over slowly partially scared, "How much is a pretzel, Sir?"

"Oh, come on now girl, what's your name?"

Reaching into my pockets, I realize I don't have any money.

"Um, I – I don't have any money, sorry", I just turn around when I feel the world spinning.

"Hey, hey now girl!"

Hearing whispers, I begin to wake up again. Grabbing my head, I feel a bandage. I smell sweet yet spicy aromas.

"Where the hell am I? How in da hell did I get here?"

"Oh, what the fuck?", I am frozen there is a damn huge wolf looking right at me.

He or maybe she is huge. Way bigger that a Mastiff, Saint Bernard, damn who am I kidding this wolf makes them look small. Why is this thing looking at me like I'm dinner?

"Nightshade! Back, its okay girl she is our guest", a voice tells this beast.

Hearing the heavy steps of someone walking into the living space, is now sitting in front of me. It's the same man from the carnival. His long black curls hugging his shoulders. A black muscle tee tucked inside his black jeans, and his heavy black work boots. Strange tattoos on both his arms. Snapped out of it by his voice.

"So, you never answered my question young one, what is your name?"

"Why should I tell you? I do not even know your name?", my smart mouth always gets me into trouble.

The beast growls at me showing teeth and that scared me a bit.

"Easy Nightshade, its only a fair statement and of course young one, let me introduce myself"

"My name is Evan Abowie, Owner of this land and Alpha of this clan. Now may I kindly ask your name?"

Looking at him, my thoughts of him saying alpha was a weird thing to say.

"My name is, my name is, I, I don't, can't remember?", as the look of blackness was read across my face.

He nods at me satisfied with my answer and he goes on telling me how this land has been in his family for generations. Even though I hear all this just something doesn't seem right. He keeps talking telling me, that at the carnival I somehow passed out. He picked me up and kept me in the back of his stand while he waited for his kin to bring me back to his place. He had the females of his clan clean me up, bandage my head and give me a clean set of clothes. I am grateful but why help me? As I sit quietly listening to all the ruckus going on outside and in the other rooms. How many people are here? Can I walk around this land? Why does Evan call himself the Alpha? Was I seeing things at the beach?

"We will answer all your questions soon, let me show you to your room, "

I turned thinking to myself how or what in the hell did they or she know what I was thinking? She was interesting. This tall flamboyant woman stood at the left side of the sofa. She had grey and white tight curly hair. It was bouncy, not frizzy but wild hair cut that caressed her neckline.

I get up and follow her trying not to think because I am wondering if she really did read my mind. We walk up stairs to the third floor of this huge mansion. Apparently, my room as at the end of the hallway. I saw all these pictures on the wall, many, many faces and different time periods. We finally stopped at a blue painted wooden door. She opens it and proceeds to uncovering the bed, as well as other furniture.

"We hope this is to your liking. We were not expecting any extra company until a few more weeks. Now don't worry. If you need anything just come, look for me or if anyone is bothersome call for me. My name is Agua Marina. I will be on the second floor in the same room.", as this raspy voice she had spoke to me.

Nodding my head I just walk to my bed and sit feeling the plush linens against my body felt so satisfying. Before I could tell my thoughts drifted off to another place. Some how I dreamt of the image of the woman at sea. Still hearing her voice I really wanted to know or how if anything why I saw her. What happened to me. Why I cant remember my name. I do not remember a damn thing. These people are they trustworthy. I guess my only conclusion at the moment is that I'm in a warm dry place, clean clothes, and my head injury is being taken care of. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
