Aarash and his team of five saw the medical transport arrive at the hospital, just as Adaeze had said it would be. They put on their masks and get their guns, and rush the truck. But Mike Doyle and several CTU agents are waiting for them. Aarash knew it was a trap. The sun was low in the sky, Aarash determined that before it set his team would all be dead. He ordered them to fire on the americans and die in a blaze of glory. The battle was short, but bloody. Four CTU agents were killed, as were all of Aarash's team. Aarash tried to kill himself with a cyanide capsule, he fought with Doyle. Doyle put his hand in Aarash's mouth, had to knock out a couple of his teeth. In the end Aarash was defeated, and taken alive.

Sabzi waits for his friend Aarash to call back, and say the operation had been successful. Sabzi gets a call, but not from Aarash. It was from another team, they had obtained an x-ray machine. Sabzi wasn't sure how many of his teams would be successful, but at least one had obtained what they needed. They might not be able to make as big a bomb as they wanted, but with the professor's help they would soon be able to build a nuclear bomb.

As the sun sets lower in the sky split screens show Diana White being interrogated, Aarash being taken to CTU, Sabzi waiting for the x-ray machine to be delivered, the Knights of Labor preparing their lynch mob, president Donovan discussing the specifics of a potential peace agreement, Tony Almeida and Audey Raines being taken to prison.

Neither Tony nor Audey seemed to understand why they were together, they soon got their answer. The guard stopped, and opened the doors. This made little sense, they were nowhere near a prison. Several men in masks ordered Tony and Audrey out, and into their own armored car. Whoever these people were, they wanted these two alive, at least for now.
