It had been more than five minutes that since the guard threatened Jack, and noone else had come in. Jack wasn't sure if Mason was corrupt, or just busy with the investigation. He came up with a plan.

.

Jack: I need to call Nina Myers.

Guard: Why her?

Jack: She's resourceful. If you want me to escape, and turn over Chloe Obrien, I'll need her help.

Guard: Fine.

.

The guard handed Jack a cellphone and he called Nina. Nina was on her way back to CTU.

.

Nina: Jack, what is it?

Jack: They're transferring me to prison soon. Before that happens, I need to talk with you.

Nina: About what?

Jack: You know what.

Nina: Okay, I'll try to get there before you're taken away.

.

Nina thought she knew what Jack wanted to talk about, and he did deserve that much at least. Jack meanwhile talked to the guard.

.

Jack: Why are you doing this?

Guard: Money, power.

Jack: Do you even believe in anything?

Guard: I believe in myself, and doing what I have to to minimize pain and maximize pleasure.

Jack: Who do you work for?

Guard: I'm not stupid.

Jack: Why do you want me and Chloe?

Guard: Don't know, don't care. I've survived by not asking questions.

Jack: Not for long.

.

Jack knew he was being watched, the guards just didn't have reason to listen to this, he had to get their attention so he could alert George Mason. Jack quickly began strangling this traitorous guard and murdered him in front of the cameras.

.

Willo brings Adaeze to her house. She doesn't realize that the Knights of Labor are planning to lynch them all very soon. Although Rick told a police officer about their plans, the cop kept his own mouth shut. His little brother was among those killed in the stadium bombings, and he has little problem with this vigilantie group enacting the kind of justice that the police department refuses to do.

.

Several guards have now come in and restrain Jack Bauer. George Mason comes in, very angry.

.

Mason: Have you gone completely insane?

Jack: The man was a traitor, check the security cameras?

Mason: If that's true, we could have questioned him.

Jack: His superiors didn't tell him anything he didn't need to know. We have a better lead. His friends kidnapped Audrey and Tony.

Mason: Then they're probably being tortured for their intel.

Jack: No, they're being used as leverage, they want me to bring them myself and Chloe.

Mason: Why you two?

Jack: Before Audrey and I conspired together, the four of us worked together on a number of things. On one of which we investigated allegations of corrupt politicians. Someone who's well connected fears we know too much, and is planning to eliminate all of us. That's my best guess.
