Mirai lept across the gap, The youmu speeding away from her. She gracefully stuck the landing and sped after the youmu. She slowly closed the distance, and as the next ledge approached she readied her blade.
She leaped across the gap and swung towards the youmu, as she did so the air In front of her distorted. Before she could see the result of her swing, she fell through the air.
She fell unceremoniously to the ground below, crashing Into something soft. She rubbed her head as she gathered her bearings. She looked around and realized had broken her fall.
"How unpleasant." She said as she got off of the now crushed trashbags.
Where am I? Did that spirit… throw me? She thought as she looked around the alleyway she fell Into. She slowly took In her surroundings.
"Its night time…? Did I pass out?" She said with a furrowed brow, as she checked her phone.
No connection… And It is nighttime! She thought as she took a few steps forward, taking In the sounds and smell of the unfamiliar alleyway.
Smoke, Is there a fire? Sirens too, as well as screams. She thought as she made sure she still had her ring on her.
"Its there, good. Now, where am I?" She says as she walks around a corner, attempting to navigate the maze of alleyways.
As she continues to walk, an explosion rings out from somewhere In the city. She turns to the direction of the explosion.
Hmm, that's worrying. It must be a pretty large fire, probably a lot of houses considering the number of screams. She says as she turns yet another corner.
As she turns her gaze ahead, her eyes go wide In shock. A silhouette of two people, one against a wall with a blade Impaling his shoulder. The wounded man turns to her, His eyes full of terror.
"No… kid, you can't be here, leave!" The man eeks out, as his assailant turns to face the Spirit World Warrior.
The assailants gaze fills her with fear, and she Instictivly takes a step back.
What are they wearing, no more importantly, what Is going on!
Despite her fear, her voice eeks out," What are you doing sir! Let that man go!"
The assailant pulls his blade out of the man's shoulder, who slumps down on the spot. He then faces the Spirit World Warrior.
"Do you… not know of me?" The assailant says In a curios but menacing tone.
"Should I? From what I can see, you just assaulted that man!" Mirai says as she takes her ring off, and puts It in her pocket.
"Hmm. Then I shall introduce myself to you…" The man says as he moves his hand towards his waist.
With a sudden movement, the man ejects a knife towards the Spirit Warrior. Mirai quickly ducks under It and pours her blood Into the shape of a blade.
The spirit warrior quickly blocks a heavy strike from the assailant their blades clashing. The man stares Into Mirai's fear-filled eyes as he speaks once more.
"I am the Hero Killer, Stain!"
"Hero-"
Mirai Is unable to react before the man pushes her back and swings once more. Mirai rolls back and then launches her self at the hero killer.
Stain meets her head-on, their blades crashing against each other. Mirai evaporates her sword, and lunges to the side, before reforming It and swinging again catching the Hero killer off guard and cutting his leg.
The hero killer steps back, with a smile on his face.
"You fought well kid, you've earned my respect. That's a nice quirk you've got." The man said as he raised his sword to his mouth.
"What's a-" Mirai Is cut off, as her limbs go limp. Her blade evaporates as she falls to the floor, her body losing all Its strength.
"How unpleasant…" Mirai says as the Hero killer moves towards the man once more.
"Now, let us finish where we left off." The man raises his sword to the neck of the man, as someone enters, the alleyway.
A burst of light and the sound of an engine erupts into the ally way. The hero killer swings his blade In the direction of the sounds and stops the man. The man's helmet flies Into the air, before crashing Into the ground.
"A child wearing a suit…" Stain comments as he stares at the man who now lays on the ground. "Who is he?" Stain says as the man looks at him with rage-filled eyes.
Mirai stares In both confusion and horror, as the man continues to lay on the ground.
"Go away. This is not a place for children." Stain says In an authoritative tone.
The man sits up, still staring at the Hero killer. "A scarf as red as blood, carrying blades all over your body… You must be the Hero Killer: Stain!" The man shouts, as stain, furrows his brow.
"You are, Aren't you?" The man shouts again, getting to one knee. " I have been chasing you!" The man says as he stares with rage-filled eyes at the unmoving stain.
The man begins to clench his fist, "I did not think I would find you so soon! I am-"
Stain raises his blade to the man's face, "Your eyes… are you here for vengeance?" Stain says as he raises an eyebrow.
"Be careful of what you say." Stain continues "Depending on the situation…" Stain says as he glances over at the Paralyzed Mirai "...Even children may become my targets."
The man clenches his fist even hard, "Are you saying that I am… not even a target?" The man glares at the hero killer as he continues "Then listen, criminal! I am the younger brother of the hero you attacked." The man says as he slowly gets up.
There It is again, Hero… Mirai thinks as she watches.
"The younger brother, of a most excellent older brother! I have come to stop you In his place!" The man said as he now stood, glaring at the Hero Killer.
Stain simply raised his blade to meet the man, as he continued "Remember my name as long as you live! Ingenium. It is the name of the hero who will defeat you!" The man yelled, as stain simply stared.
Stain eyes widened as he replied," I see."
Mirai attempted to move again, she could see where this was going! That man, Ingenium, was no match for the Hero Killer. She desperately tried to move her arm, but not even a finger would budge. She quickly opened her mouth.
"Ingenium! Don't-" her cry fell on deaf ears.
"Die." Stain said, as the man's leg erupted In small flames, and shot towards Stain.
"Like I would!" Ingenium said as he kicked towards the Hero Killer.
Stain lept into the air, dodging the kick In an instant.
"Ingenium. You're brothers, huh?" Stain said as he reared up his leg. "In order to let news of me spread... " Stain threw a kick at Ingenium's shoulder, a spike stabbing through his armor before Stain kicked him to the floor with his other foot. "I let him live."
Ingenium struggled, as the Hero Killer stood over him. "Your weak."
Mirai struggled to her feet and threw herself at Stain. Stain turned his gaze, and quickly slashed her on the arm, before dodging out of the way of the strike. He then kicked her away.
Mirai turned to face him before she once again collapsed. "Idiot." Stain commented as he turned his gaze back to Ingenium. He positioned his sword for a downward thrust.
Is his blade, laced with some kind of paralysis? Mirai thought as she continued to struggle to no avail.
His blade cut through Ingeniums armor with ease. Ingenium cried out In pain, as blood poured from his wound.
"You and your brother are both weak..." Stain said as he looked at the man below him with disgust. "...Because you're both fakes.
Ingenium barely eeks out his reply, "Shut up, villain. He's paralyzed from the waist down due to spinal cord damage! He can't work as a hero anymore!"
Stain looks incredibly unamused as the hero continues. "Brother is an excellent hero who saved many people… and led them until now… There's no reason for you to crush him… He's my hero… He was an excellent hero who gave me my dream!" Ingenium continues, as he clenches his fist once more.
He can move! It's something else then! Mirai thought as she watched.
"I won't forgive you! I'll kill you!" Ingenium screamed out In rage.
Stain simply pointed first to the man slumped against the wall then to Mirai," Save them first…"
Ingenium's face lightens up with shock as if he didn't notice the other people In the alley.
"Reflect on yourself and save others. Don't use your power for yourself. Being taken In by the hatred before you, and trying to fulfill your own desires… That is the furthest from what a hero should be." Stain said with an amused expression, as he pulled his bloodstained blade out of Ingenium.
He slowly brought the blade up to his mouth, while Mirai watched In horror.
"That's why you'll die." Stain said, before licking the blood from his blade. Ingenium Immediety grunted, as his half clenched fist lost Its strength.
Stain then reposition his blade, over the hero's neck. "Goodbye. You're an offering to a more just world" Stain said as he raised the blade a bit further Into the air.
"Shut up… Shut up…" Ingenium said, as tears slowly formed. "No matter what you say, you are the criminal who hurt my brother!" Ingenium yelled as Stain prepared to strike the hero for the last time.
Stain suddenly turned to his left, as the sound of electricity signaled the arrival of yet another person. Mirai could see the person rear up, then punch Stain directly In the jaw, throwing the killer back.
"Bingo!" The person yelled out, as he landed In front of Ingenium.
"Who, are you?" Mirai asked as she looked on with awe.
"Mi… Midoriya." Ingenium said In an almost pained tone.
Midoriya didn't look back and kept all his focus on the hero killer. "I came to save you, Iida!"
Mirai slowly felt the effect wearing off, she could feel her fingers and her toes!
"Midoriya… Why?" Iida said In yet another pained voice.
"They said on TV, that Sixty percent of the places where stain attacked, were In places without people. So I searched away from the center of the commotion In alleyways near the normal hero agency. I searched them all one by one." Midoriya said while keeping his gaze locked to stain.
"Can you move?" Midoriya said In a hurried voice. "Let's get to a bigger street, We need help from the pros."
Iida struggled to move his mouth as he replied "I can't... move my body…"
Midoriya looked back at Iida with shock," Ever since he cut me… I think It's his quirk…"
Quirk? Mirai thought as she reformed her sword.
Midoriya looked back at Stain," It's just as the commentator suggested! His quirk activates by cutting."
Midoriya's gaze shifted slightly and lit up In shock. Midoriya gritted his teeth, realizing the situation.
"Midoriya… Don't Get Involved!" Iida said, causing Midoriya to look back In surprise. "This has nothing to do with you!" Iida continued, causing Midoriya's expression to stiffen.
"What… are you saying?" Midoriya said In a calm tone. Stain smirked slightly.
"Your friend came to save you. That's a great line, Isn't It? But I have a duty to kill him." Stain said, causing Midoriya to turn his gaze to him once for.
"If we clash, of course, the weaker will be culled." The Hero killer said, causing Midoriya to stiffen with terror, fear filling his eyes.
"Now, what will you do?" Stain asked.
Midoriya's hand shifted behind him for a moment, before sliding something Into a pocket. He then resumed his stance.
"Stop It! Run away!" Iida demanded. "I told you, this has nothing to do with you!" Iida continued to shout.
"If you say that, then Heroes cant do anything!" Midoriya shouted back.
Mirai could tell he wall holding out, but he didn't let his anger get the better of him.
"There's a lot of things I'd like to say right now, but I'll save them for later," Midoriya said as he readied himself. "It's like All Might said: Meddling when you don't need to, Is the essence of being a hero!"
Stain looked taken aback, despite the fear In his eyes Midoriya stood his ground. Stain smiled, and Midoriya charged.
Mirai quickly got up from the ground and reformed her sword. Stain swung his at Midoriya, who ducked under it. Stain reached for a dagger with his free hand.
Mirai ran towards Stain, as Midoriya moved between his legs then launched himself Into the air. Stain turned around, only to be faced by the Spirit Warrior.
Mirai feinted a swing and before Stain realized, Midoriya reared up to punch him In the head.
"Five Percent, Detroit Smash!" He said before his fist smashed Into Stains head. The Impact threw stain to the ground.
Midoriya landed on the ground, Mirai ran over to join him. As she approached stain raised his knife to his mouth.
"Midoriya, He's gonna-" Mirai spoke too late, as Midoriya began to struggle to keep himself from falling to the floor. Stain stood up, to face Mirai.
"That was very clever of you both. Despite having never met before, you worked together perfectly to give him an opening. Now, this Is your last chance… girl, leave now or die here." Stain said as he raised his blade.
With a sigh, Mirai stood her ground," How unpleasant." She then charged at Stain.
As she approached, light erupted from the other side of the alleyway. Stain swung at Mirai, and she lept over him leaving him to be engulfed by the flame.
"Todorki!" Midoriya said joyfully.
Mirai landed next to the new arrival, and exchange a glance. She then turned to face the Irritated Hero Killer.
"Careful, If you get cut you get paralyzed. It seems to have a time limit." Mirai said as she readied her blade.
Todoroki readied himself as well," Thanks for the warning, so who are you."
Mirai looked at the people on the ground, as she replied. "I'm Mirai, I was paralyzed earlier."
"Its true Todoroki!" Midoriya said as he struggled.
"Stain, the pro's will be here soon! Surrender!" Todorki said as Stain regained his composure.
"We'll have to stall him!" Mirai said as she charged towards the Hero Killer.
Stain swung wide, right on time Mirai lept into the air. Stain realized his mistake too soon and backed away, as Ice spike erupted from the ground.
Stain cut one down, before charging towards Todoroki. As Todoroki had stains attention, Mirai landed behind him.
Todorik's left arm got struck by two knives as he attempted to halt stain but before the Hero killer could lick the blood, Mirai swung at him forcing him to block her strike. As Iida watched he began tearing up again.
Stain overpowered Mirai and cut through her sword. Mirai stumbled backward and Stain prepared to cut her down.
Midoriya suddenly shot towards stain and punched him back. He then helped Mirai up, and they continued to pressure Stain.
Soon enough, Stain found an opening. Cutting Midoriya on the ankle, he quickly licked the blood before leaping away from Todoroki's flames.
"Sorry, Todoroki…" Midoriya said as he slumped against the fall.
Todoroki and Mirai desperately held back the now vicious Hero Killer. As the fight went on, Mirai grew weaker.
I'm using so much blood… Mirai said as she attempted to guard Todoroki against a strike, as his sword struck, her arms buckled.
Todoroki quickly forced him back with his Ice, as Mirai fell to one knee.
"What's wrong Mirai?" Todoroki asked as Mirai stood up again.
"I'm using so much blood…" Mirai says In an exhausted voice, but she refuses to let Todoroki fight alone.
"Please, stop… I'm already…" Iida says In a weak, pained voice.
Todoroki grits his teeth as he struggles to hold himself back," If you want us to stop, then stand up!"
Iida's face lights up, as Todoroki continues, "Look properly at what you want to be!" Iida starts to clench his fist.
Stain breaks through Todoroki's Ice wall and lunges towards Todoroki. Mirai intercepts him and forces him to leap away.
My vision Is blurring… but I have to keep going! Mirai thinks before taking a breath and rejoining the fight.
"From the right!" Midoriya yells, Mirai Is unable to get there In time. Todoroki barely gets a wall up In time and then forces the hero killer to leap away.
He then charges Todoroki again, this time avoiding the Ice spikes perfectly. Todoroki's flame Is dodged as well, Mirai and Midoriya look on In horror.
"You're too focused on your quirk, your being careless!" Stain yells as he gets closer and closer.
Mirai lunges forward, Stain dodges her strike and cuts her on the back. As Stain goes to lick the blade, Mirai quickly throws her sword at him forcing him to dodge she then falls to the ground.
using the opening Iida bursts forth. With a twirl, Stain gets within Inches of cutting Todoroki's arm, before Iida knocks him back. Todoroki then throws Mirai her sword.
Mirai gets up catches It, and then prepares for the next onslaught of attacks.
"Idiot, the Hero Killer is after me! Run away!" The still wounded man yelled.
"Like we'd get the chance!" Mirai replied as she ducked under a strike from Stain.
"Free my legs!" Iida yelled to Todoroki, who looked away for a moment.
"In the way!" Stain shouted as he threw a blade towards Todoroki.
Leaping In front of It, the knife struck Iida In the arm, blocking another he yelled at Todoroki again. "Just do it!"
Mirai ran over to Midoriya," Can you move?"
Midoriya nodded as he watched the situation.
"We'll only get one shot!" Mirai shouted as Iida Iida burst up the wall of the building. Midoriya quickly followed, Mirai followed as well, leaped onto the wall of the opposite building before leaping off it towards Stain.
Reforming her blade Into a shield she reared up. Midoriya and Iida struck Stain with all their might, for a moment he went still before grabbing his sword again and barely missing Iida's head.
"Stay… down!" Mirai yelled as Iida hit him again, then she slammed him with her shield. After that, Todoroki engulfed the hero killer Inflame.
Falling back to the ground, Mirai staggered. Then she evaporated the shield and put her ring back on. Looking up, Mirai stood next to the other three as they stared cautiously at the limp body of the Hero Killer.
"Did… We win?" Mirai asked between breaths.
"I, think we did?" Midoriya said In an equally exhausted tone.
The Four of them managed to defeat the Hero Killer, What laid In store for them, and Mirai next?
