"Students, get back to camp. Iida take the lead," Mandalay says as she stares down the two villains. "Oh no…" Mandalay says under her breath.
Midoriya turns his gaze to her," Mandalay, I know where he is!"
Mandalay turns to Midoriya and give a nod In response. Mirai's about to leave with Iida, as she realizes something. She quickly whispers Into Mandalay's ear, paying no mind to the villain's speech.
Mandalay thinks about it for a long moment and eventually gives a hesitant nod. Without waiting to hear anything else, Mirai runs towards the entrance of the test. She runs as fast as she can, watching the bushes on either side for villains on the way.
She hears a shriek ahead and forms a blade. She leaps forward and swings at the villain. The small girl she swings towards, ducks under the strike swipes at her. Mirai narrowly avoids the swing.
Skidding to a stop she turns to face the villain. "A… girl..?" Mirai says out loud, expecting something different. "Very shallow, not even a drop of blood." the villain says as she inspects her knife.
Wait, she did cut me? I didn't even notice. Mirai looks down and sure enough, there is a cut on her uniform.
"Mirai!" Uraraka's voice sounds from behind her. Mirai keeps her eyes on the villain. "I figured you would be attacked, so I got permission from Mandalay to help." The villain finishes her Inspection and turns her gaze towards the trio of students.
"Who are you, villain!" Mirai said as she tries to see the villain's equipment. "I'm, Toga! You reacted very fast!" Mirai's brow twitches slightly what's with this girl, she is so unsettling she thinks as she tries to keep her composure.
"Thanks, I guess." Mirai reaches for her ring. Toga speaks In an unsettling tone," You all are so cute!" The trio looks on In terror as she continues "Uraraka and...Asui… as well as… you?"
"She knows our names?!" Uraraka said In a terror-filled tone. "That means we're likely at a disadvantage," Asui said In response.
"Who are you?" Toga asked Inquisitively towards Mirai. Mirai responses while reaching for her ring. "I'm Mirai, but that's all you need to know!"
Without saying a word, Toga launches towards the trio. Mirai quickly moves her sword, as Toga swings wildly at her.
Mirai quickly blocks the first few, but Toga sends a powerful swing at Mirai, cutting clean through her sword. Toga looks down as the sword splatters to the ground, Mirai quickly reforms It.
I've gotta focus, I should've been able to block that! Mirai thought as she steadied her breathing.
"You're sword… Is It made of blood by any chance?" Toga says with a smile as she gazes at Mirai. Mirai recoils as she answers," Y-yes… what of it?"
Toga begins bouncing up and down. "That's so cool! So, so, so, so cool!" Mirai lowers her sword In confusion. Toga turns towards Mirai once more. Mirai quickly shouts out," Uraraka, Tsuyu, get out of her! Get back to camp I'll be right behind you!"
The pair doesn't move for a second," but Mirai-" Toga suddenly shoots forward. Mirai swings to intercept her, but before she can react toga's knife sinks deep into her shoulder.
Mirai resists the urge to scream In pain, and haphazardly slides her ring off. She swings towards Toga and stumbles backward. Pulling the knife out, she turns to the pair once more.
"I can handle this, go!" they reluctantly obey her.
As Mirai is catching her breath, Toga emerges from behind a tree, unscathed. "That was close, Mirai!" Mirai stands up to face Toga. "You could do with a bit more blood though." Toga continued with a dissatisfied tone.
"What are the villains after?" Mirai yelled as she held her sword towards the villain. Toga raised a finger to her cheek as she thought. "We all have our objectives!" Toga answered with a cheeky smile.
Of course, I get the one with no useful Info. Mirai thought to herself as she stared down Toga. Toga began to move towards Mirai.
A sudden feeling caused Mirai to jump. "Attention all students! Under the name of Eraser Head, you are permitted to use your quirks" Mirai looked up to the sky. Another sudden feeling crept over her "Also, we have confirmed one of the villains targets: Kaachan."
Kaachan… does she mean Bakugo? Mirai's thoughts overwhelmed her for a moment, but she snapped her gaze back to Toga.
"Hey, Mirai, can we be friends? I can be your friend right!" Toga yelled out as she charged towards Mirai. Mirai swung her sword once more.
As the droplets left the sword, Toga vanished. Mirai lept backward, skidding to a stop as Toga reappeared right behind her. Toga thrust her dagger towards Mirai.
Mirai dodged under It and struck Toga In the stomach knocking her back.
As Mirai looked back at Toga, she was nowhere to be seen. She turned around In the confusion there, she saw herself.
"What the..?" Mirai said In confusion, as she stared at herself. She began to approach herself. "Wait..!" Mirai realized too late, as her other self stabbed Mirai In the hand. Stumbling backward, Mirai was knocked to the ground.
Her glasses falling from her face, Mirai was pinned to the ground. "Normally, I do this myself but, Now I've got this machine to do It for me!" As toga spoke, something pressed against her leg.
"Ah, that's right! Don't forget this Mirai!" Toga said with a happy tone, as she slid Mirai ring back on her finger. "How did you-" Mirai's question was Interrupted by something piercing her leg.
"Ah- What are you…" Mirai began to feel light-headed. Toga began chanting to herself as whatever she stuck into her leg, began to suck something into the machine.
As the seconds went by, Mirai mustered the strength and pushed Toga off her. Landing on her feet Toga looked at the tube.
"What the hell did you do..?" Mirai asked In between breaths. Toga looked satisfied with the results of whatever she did. "What did you do!" Mirai demanded an answer and attempted to form a sword.
Instead of a sword, she was only able to form a small dagger. Mirai lunged forward and swung at Toga. Toga stepped back, dodged the swing, and the stabbed Mirai In the back. Mirai fell to the ground, her strength leaving her.
Toga put one hand to her ear, nodded, then spoke "Sorry, Mirai! Looks like that's it for today. See ya around, thanks for all the fun!" Toga pulled the knife out of Mirai's back, then began to walk back towards the woods.
"Wait… wait!" Mirai struggled to speak, Toga either didn't hear her or didn't care to respond. Mirai could barely hear anymore. A familiar voice was one of the last things she heard before blacking out.
"Mirai!" Midoriya's voice shouted from behind her, Toga's face lit up In a blush for a split second before she fled Into the trees. Mirai could barely see Midoriya, but she could see he was just as torn up as her If not more so.
"Midoriya… Toga can… she can…" Mirai's vision went black, as she passed out.
