Chloe Obrien sits in her house, watching the news. George Mason didn't particularly believe her claim that Jack and Audrey forced her to help them, but he couldn't prove anything. Thus Chloe was released, at least for now.

President Donovan continues to negotiate with Hekmetyar. One sticking point is the possibility of amnesty.

Donovan: I am willing to grant amnesty to most foot soldiers. But certain taliban leaders need to face justice for their crimes against humanity.

Hekmetyar: Those who refuse the peace, like Sabzi, yes. But give he others a chance. If they refuse, or break their word, they are fair game. But how can I turn over our leaders over to you while your leaders go unpunished for their crimes. You cannot have it both ways mr president.

The president hated to admit it, but Hekmetyar was right. If both sides were serious about peace, than some on both sides would have to escape justice.

Jack Bauer arrived at the hospital. He keeps his distance from the security guards, and has to figure out how to get past them. Jack is still in pain from his escape, he's not at his best. He doesn't realize that Gary is sneaking up on him, until it's too late.

Gary: You're Jack Bauer?

Jack: Yes. Who are you?

Gary: Willow's ex-boyfriend. She helped me out, tried to help your daughter was well. They both got shot by those racist pigs.

Jack: That why you're out here, protecting them?

Gary: Yes.

Jack: Is Kim okay?

Gary: The doctors won't tell me because I'm not family. I'll help you get to her. I figure if it were reversed, and I couldn't see Willow when she needed me.

Jack: You could get in trouble.

Gary: I'll take my chances. Besides, I can't guarantee how much time you'll have.

Chloe heard a noise coming from outside. She began calling 911, until Tony knocked on her door, asked to come in. Chloe went to answer, Audrey was also standing here, she let them both inside.

Chloe: How did you get them to let you go?

Audrey: We escaped, after they tried to kill us.

Chloe: Who?

Tony: We think it has to do with the investigation we did years ago on corrupt politicians. Someone thinks or fears we all know something. And we have every reason to believe you're in danger as well.

Audrey: Tony and I can protect you, if you want our help.

Chloe: Okay, I want your help.
