Jack springs into action, and jumps out the window. He knew he couldn't get past these guards, this was a desperate measure. But it worked, the guards were too shocked to even stop him. The fall was painful, and he could hear the gaurds already relaying his position. Jack ran as fast as his hurt legs could carry him.

Chloe, Audrey, and Tony drive to a local motel. It's cheap, in a bad neighborhood, and noone there has any interest in calling the police even if they are recognized. They talk about their current situation.

Tony: Even if we find out who's behind this, we need someone on the inside to tell president Donovan.
Chloe: What president Hellar, former presidents still talk to current ones right.
Audrey: They do, but he doesn't trust me, for obvious reasons.
Tony: I can vouch for you, say you're genuinly trying to stop these terrorists.
Audrey: He'll demand we turn ourselves in after.
Tony: That's only fair.
Audrey; Okay, I'll call him.

Audrey called an old number, and hoped her father hadn't changed it. Hellar was watching the news, and being protected by Secret Service. He got a call on his private phone, and assumed it was his son Richard.

Hellar: Richard?
Audrey: It's me, Audrey.
Hellar: Audrey? I heard you escaped.
Audrey: They tried to kill us. We think it has something to do with our investigation into corrupt politicians.
Hellar: Who else is with you?
Tony: Mr president, this is Tony Almeida. Also with us is Chloe Obrien, and we're trying to meet up with Jack Bauer.
Hellar: I'm suprised you're working with them, all things considered.
Tony: It's not easy, but there's more at stake than my petty revenge. Someone on the inside is giving the terrorists intel. They had Ira Gaines and Diana White murdered in a safehouse, along with many good agents.
Hellar: I heard about that explosion, I didn't think that was a coincidence either.
Tony: We don't know who we can trust. Can you contact president Donovan?
Hellar: Yes, but he's going to need proof of your sincerity. So do I.
Audrey: What did you have in mind?
Hellar: I want your word that you'll turn yourselves in when this is al over, that includes Chloe Obrien. I always suspected that she helped your plot, we just couldn't prove it.

Chloe thought about this. Ever since her husband and child died, she had contemplated suicide. A part of her would prefer death to going back to prison. But if Hellar refused to help them, because she valued her freedom too much, Chloe knew she couldn't live with herself. She agreed to this.

Chloe: Yes mr president, I will turn myself in after this.
Hellar: Okay then, I'll call the president.

Agent Hunter made his final call to Mandy.

Hunter: Is your team in place?
Mandy: Yes. When the fireworks start tell Hekmetyar that you're now part of his security. Escort him to us, and we'll take it from there.
Hunter: And your people understand that president Donovan is to be left alone?
Mandy: They're not happy about, but they'll work with it. And they won't detonate the nuclear bomb. You're helping to save over 10,000 american lives.
Hunter: I guess that will have to comfort me in prison, maybe I can live with myself.
