President Donovan is on the phone with former president Hellar. Donovan knows about the explosion at the safehouse, he believes that could not have been a coincidence. He does think that there might be more traitors at CTU, but the idea that Jack Bauer and the others are sincere about wanting to help he is more skeptical about that.

.

Donovan: Do you believe these four really will turn themselves in when this is all over?

Hellar: Yes sir, I do.

Donovan: Even though the courts could very well impose the death penalty on any of them?

Hellar: They all knew the risks from the beginning.

Donovan: Okay then, they have my authorization.

.

Jack finds the motel that Chloe told them about. This is cheap for a reason, a number of prostitutes are working here, others are selling drugs. The good part is that the motel is cheap and noone here has any reason to call the police even if they are recognized. Audrey sees Jack and lets him in.

.

Audrey: My father is trying to get president Donovan to authorize us. But he wants us to turn ourselves in when this is over.

Jack: Fair enough. One way or another, this will be our last mission together. Is there anyone at CTU we can trust to keep us informed.

Chloe: Chapelle, who we're pretty sure is with the terrorists, fired a lot of people. The only one we might be able to trust is Nina Myers.

Jack: It's risky, but we need someone. I'll call her.

.

Nina Myers is back at CTU. Chapelle apparently wants to get all the help he can from her. Nina doesn't entirely trust Chapelle, he fired too many good agents, and is using the remaining ones to look for Jack Bauer, who has no more useful intel. It' almost like he wants to impede the investigation. Then she gets a call from Jack Bauer. She goes to the ladies room makes sure she's alone, then takes the call.

.

Nina: I didn't expect to hear from you again.

Jack: I'm sorry to put you in this position, but we think Chapelle might be involved with the terrorists.

Nina: I think you're right. It made no sense to transfer Gaines and White to the same safehouse, until it blew up. As far as I can tell the other, much less valuable witnesses, are safe.

Jack: The president has authorized us to investigate, can you help us?

Nina: These favors are starting to add up.

Jack: I have no right to ask you, but I'm asking anyway.

.

Nina thought about this. Jack could be lying, helping him could end her pardon. But she didn't want to live with this regret for the rest of her life.

.

Nina: Okay, I'm in.
