Complete AU. As president Donovan tries to hold peace talks with a taliban leader fanatics try to disrupt the peace process. Meanwhile Jack Bauer has been on the run for over a year, but an old friend/enemy is looking for him.

83. Chapter 83

Thanks to help from Hunter and Hayes, Mandy's team and Sabzi's are in place. Sabzi is using his last remaining resources and manpower in the area, he can only hope this works. Sabzi watches the news from his safehouse. At the moment they are focusing on the rescue efforts from the stadium bombings. One reporter is focusing on the rescue of a pregnant woman, how the paramedics are doing all they can to save her and her baby. Sabzi knows that if Camp David is attacked, the news stations will focus on that immediately. But for now they seem to know nothing.

Sabzi's team begin their assault on Camp David. Pierce is immediately notified and brings the president down to the bunker. He can't figure out how the terrorists even got this close, but his more immeidate priority is to protect the president. Although in a hurry. Pierce brings the bomb sniffing german shepard down to the bunker. If the terrorists got this close to Camp David, Pierce isn't taking foolish chances. As per Mandy's orders Hunter goes to Hekmetyar's cabin and informs them they have to be moved. They don't realize that Hunter is leading them into a trap.

Sabzi watches on television as the news suddenly breaks into the explosions and sound of gunfire coming from Camp David. Sabzi actually smiles, it seems that Mandy's friends are reliable after all.

From their motel room Jack Bauer's group sees news coveage of the attack on Camp David.

Jack: Chloe, any connection between Sabzi and the corrupt politicians?

Chloe: No. You think it has anything to do with this?

Jack: Sabzi doesn't have the resources for this kind of operation, not without help.

Tony: We know that, Hodges, White, Cofell, their conspiracy had a temporary alliance with Sabzi and Dubaku.

Jack: There must be others, people who are going out of their way to kill us. And if they kidnap Donovan or Hekmetyar, we need to find where they are.

Tony: You think they'd take them alive?

Jack: Nina worked with Sabzi, she knows how he thinks. He'll want to personally kill his former friend, even if it's not rational.

Chloe: I'll try to find any remaining safehouses.

As Pierce brings president Donovan down to the bunker, the bomb sniffing dog immediately begins barking. Argus barks, seems to smell explosives everywhere. Pierce takes the president away, just in time. They escape just as the bomb explodes, killing everyone unlucky enough to still be in the bunker.
