Jack Bauer's group, Sabzi, and Chapelle at CTU are all watching news of the incident at Camp David. Noone seems to know if president Donovan was killed in the explosion. A journalist covering the peace talks shows the rubble. President Donovan emerges, in front of this camera. His suit is slightly burned, and he has been given medical treatment, but for the most part he seems okay. Jack Bauer's group is relieved, as is much of CTU, Chapelle is nervous, as is senator Allen. Their conspiracy does not have unlimited resources, removing Donovan will be more difficult now. Sabzi is largely indifferent. Even if Donovn had died he would just be replaced, with someone who still supported America's imperialist crusade. What Sabzi really wants is Hekmetyar. With him gone, the rest of the taliban will fall into line behind the hardliner's, who will never accept peace with America.
.
Agent Hayes recieves a call from Mandy. He makes an excuse and talks to her.
.
Mandy: President Donovan is alive.
Hayes; I'm aware.
Mandy: Can you eliminate him?
Hayes: Maybe. They'll take him to the infirmary, I might be able to slip him some poison. It will cast more suspicion on me than I'd like. I may need to flee, I'll dissapear and none of you will ever see me again. I'll need money in my account.
Mandy: It will be there if you can get out of Camp David.
Hayes: Understood.
.
Agent Hunter continues to bring Hekmetyar, and his two remaining bodyguards, to the location. Here Sabzi's team are waiting for them. They fire on all, including Hunter. Either they don't know that Hunter is there temporary ally, or they don't care. Instinctively Hunter draws his gun and joins the bodyguards in shooting at the terrorists. The four terrorists are killed, as are Hekmetyar's bodyguards. Hunter himself is wounded in the shoulder, but not fatally.
.
Hekmetyar: We should get you to the infirmary.
Hunter: I'mafraid that's not possible.
.
Hunter then pulls his gun on Hekmetyar.
.
Hekmetyar: You are a traitor?
Hunter: I'm sorry it has to go down like this, but you're coming with me.
