Reviews would be really appreciated so I know that people actually like reading what I write and letting me know what I need to fix. I'm not a good writer yet, and I won't be able to fix what needs to be fixed if I don't know what's wrong :"
"There you four are, really keeping me waiting even during your first step of the journey?" Professor Juniper called out to the four teens who were jogging along the dirt road towards Route 1. "Sorry professor, we were just having a friendly match-up with our new friends!" Bianca answered back as they finally came to a stop in front of the professor.
"Oh, you were?" The professor exclaimed in surprised, She took a look about the Pokemon beside each trainer. Indeed, they all seemed to have gotten a lot stronger. "Your partners definitely looks like they've grown!" All of the Pokemon cheered at the compliment, taking it with pride.
"We shall continue now with the lesson, yes?" All four teens nodded in unison, so the professor continued. "Alright! First thing all trainers should know is that wild Pokemon will only appear in tall grass, so stay out of it, and you'll be safe and sound." The quartet nodded once again, listening to the professor's explanation to the fullest…three of them at least. Touya seems to already know such basic things and would make occasional glances around the area to examine it. Cheren probably already knew this as well, but out of respect, the boy continues to listen to the professor.
"Now if we step right in this patch…" A wild Patrat suddenly jumped towards the group and took a battle stance on its own, making up its own mind that they were the enemy. The professor, already sending out her Pokemon, a Mincinno, readied herself for battle at the Patrat. "Watch and learn, everyone. Mincinno, Tackle!"
The Mincinno rams itself towards the Patrat, dealing more than enough damage and sending it tumbling backwards. The Patrat itself tried to attack back with its own tackle, but the attack hardly damages the Mincinno who brushed the dirt of the tackle off herself with her tail. "Now that the Pokemon is weakened, you aim the Pokeball at the Pokemon and throw it." Following her explanation, Professor Juniper took aim and threw the Pokeball, directly hitting the Patrat's head.
The patrat was sucked into the Pokeball and as the Pokeball wiggled for the third time, it released a "Ding!" sound, marking its capture. Bianca and Hilda shows an expression of "wow" and "woah" while Cheren and Touya half-give attention to the full thing. The professor went to the Pokeball containing the Patrat to take it and put it in her labcoat as she also returned her Mincinno to her Pokeball after giving small pats on the head. "And that's it! Although, it would be better to put the Pokemon off with status moves as well to increase the capture rate. Here you go, five Pokeballs for the each of you to get started." Each teen were given five Pokeballs, putting them away in their own bags. "Next, I want you all to meet me at Accumula Town, I want to show you something." And with that, the professor was off once more, through the tall grass and the route towards said town.
"Glad that's over with, I was getting bored from listening to something I've heard over and over again…" Touya said as soon as the professor was out of hearing shot. He slumped down a bit towards the ground, petting his Snivy who was dangling off of his head. "Do not to be rude Touya, the professor was merely explaining the process to those who are still new to this whole thing." Cheren scolded the other male who is giving him a slight curt look, "I'm pretty sure everyone by now would've known those information-"
"Actually, me and Bianca haven't," Hilda spoke up, cutting off Touya's statement and getting a questionable stare from said boy, "I stand by her sentence, I didn't even know you have to damage the Pokemon!" Bianca added, "what? This is, like, the basics of basics, how-"
"Instead of arguing over such an idiotic thing, we should hurry up and catch up to the professor, she's probably waiting for us again." Cheren sighed, cutting off Touya once again who decided that dropping off the subject was for the best.
They were all about to move when Bianca suddenly spoke up again, "Wait, guys, I just had another idea!" And once more, everyone turned towards her. "What is it this time Bianca, we can't let the Professor wait for us any longer." Cheren stated the usual straightforward fact, in which Bianca replied, "Just wait a sec! Since we got a Pokedex, and the professor wants us to record as many Pokemon we find in our journey, what if we hold a race?"
"A race?" Hilda asked back, intrigued.
"Yes, a race! Why don't we see who can catch the most Pokémon? The person carrying the most Pokémon, including the one received from Professor Juniper, is the winner!" This seems to peak everyone's interest as not only do they get a new team member, they also gain new information for the task given by the professor. "That's actually a great idea, Bianca. Two good ideas in one day, truly the start of this journey has finally given you a few intelligences." Cheren answered back.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Bianca throws back, not knowing whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.
"I think that's great, we should totally do it!" Hilda agreed to Bianca.
"If everyone's up for it, then I'll join in as well," Touya answered as well, "although I'm not sure if there's any Pokemon I would want from this route…" he added as a mumble, making sure anyone doesn't hear him.
"What was that, Touya?" Hilda noticed the slight mumble and proceeds to question him, in which Touya shot back with a "nothing". "No point in standing around now, I'll see you all at the front of Accumula Town." Cheren said with a wave before he disappears into the tall grass, walking with stride alongside his Snivy.
"Oh right, I'll see you two soon!" Bianca left not soon after, carrying her Tepig in her arms and running into the patch of grass, leaving Touya and Hilda by their lonesome.
"So, Touya, uh, wanna walk to the town together?" Hilda asked the boy beside her, hoping that he'd said yes. She enjoys the company of the male a lot more than her friends for whatever reason and now that the person was right here beside her, she wants to go on her journey with him.
Alas, said boy did not heard her thoughts as he denied the invitation, "Sorry Hilda, but little Noodle here needs some training after seeing how much he got roughed up in that small battle we had, don't you bud?" The snake answered back with a chirp and a nod, letting the other trainer know of their answer. Hilda sighs in disappointment, "oh, okay then Touya, I'll see you at the town then." Touya gives Hilda a smile before also disappearing into the grass.
Hilda frowned a bit, although knowing that they'll meet up soon enough, she can't help but feel a bit down knowing the boy already declined her from the start of the journey. Daniel notices his trainer's discontent and snuggles to her embrace to comfort her and letting out small snorts at the direction Touya had headed. Hilda chuckes at her Tepig's behaviour a bit and pet the swine. "It's fine Daniel, I can't really force him anyways, now let's go!" And at last, Hilda runs towards the tall grass as well.
The walk through the route was rather uneventful for the most part, with Hilda training Daniel until he's able to burn the enemies, "I can do arson!" as she said it herself once the Tepig was able to breath fire. With the successful training, she made her way through the route to meet up with the others, who had been waiting for her for quite a while.
"Okay, everyone's here! Let's check our team count now." Bianca said once they create a circle, showing the amount of Pokeball(s) they have in their hands. Slightly surprised at the lack of a second Pokeballs in Hilda's and Touya's hands, the female frowns a bit. "Whaaaat? You two still only have your starters? Wont they get a bit lonely?" The blonde question the two brunets standing beside each other, their starters still outside of their Pokeballs, looking a bit roughed up. Hilda sheepishly looks away while Touya rolls his eyes.
"Incidentally, if you check your Pokédex, you'll see how many Pokémon you've found and how many you've caught. Come on, the professor's probably tired of waiting again by now." Cheren spoke up, and the four walks into the small town known as Accumula Town.
The town itself is barely any bigger than Nuvema, having a few buildings below and on top of hills, a nice small park in the middle of the town where people and Pokemon are playing together. As they look around, a familiar face wave at them in front of a building with blue walls and a red roof-top. "Over here, you four!" The professor called as they made their way to the professor.
"Welcome to Accumula Town, this town doesn't offer much, but it does offer the Pokemon Center, the very building we are standing in front of right now." As the professor gesture to said building, the quartet looks at said building with different expressions. Cheren already knowing where this will go, cut the professor before she could continue her explanation, "Although I appreciate the tutorial professor, I have known about the Center quite enough so I think I'll look around the town instead."
Before anyone could even say a word, Cheren was off exploring Accumula Town. Touya wanting to join Cheren but needing to heal his Pokemon decides to stay quiet and listen to the professor's teaching. "Quite disappointing, but nonetheless, let us continue to the interior." The trio follows the professor into the building, taking in the two floored building in.
Hilda and Bianca's eyes are gleaming with curiosity as they look at the small lounge to the side, the shop to the side, and the counter in the very middle end of the Pokemon Center. They stopped at the counter as the professor explains more, letting the trio asks the professor to heal their Pokemons in which she gladly did so, making the trio return their partner into their Pokeball and let the nurse heals them back by putting their Pokeballs on top of a machine. The machine glowed for a few seconds before letting out a small 'Ding!' letting everyone know that it has done it's job and letting the nurse give back their Pokeballs to each trainer.
Next they walk to the PC right beside the counter, telling them the PC is used as a storage system as trainers have a rule of only being allowed to have six Pokemon at a time. The trio questions the logic behind this as to why only six, and what's wrong with having more, but they decided to let the question be unanswered, not wanting to know nor do they even know if the professor has an answer to such question. They each registered themselves onto their PC, and did a try-test for each one, before the professor decided it was enough and led them to the stairs. They reached what looks like to be a counter and an elevator at the back.
"These are for the sleeping quarter, every Pokemon Center has a room ready for every trainers to rest in, so in case you worry about having a place to sleep, just go to each town's local Center and you're good to go!" Everyone nodded, following the professor's word silently, apparently none of them had known of this fact and was quite thankful of such information. They walked downstairs towards the last attraction of the building.
They arrived at a blue counter with two workers behind it, many items are stocked in shelves can be seen behind the workers as well ranging from Potions, to Pokeballs, and even Trainer necessities such as food and medical kits. "And these is the Pokemart, They sell everything that a trainer would need in a journey. And with that, ends our tour of the Pokemon Center! Any questions?" With a solid shake of the head from the three, the professor smiles at them, "I wish you all a great journey, I'll see you all later! For now I have to head back to the lab, farewell!" The professor bids, leaving the trio in the building and making her way back to Nuvema.
"I think I'll stay here a while, I want to look through the items. What about you two?" Bianca asks the two brunets, "I'll probably buy a few meals and make my way to Route 2, Hilda?" Touya shots Hilda, who still has no idea on what she'll do. "Don't really know, can I just join you?" Touya gives a nod, making Hilda smiles before turning to Bianca, "We'll see you around Bianca!" The two bought a few items for lunch later on as it was still around Mid-noon. They walk out of the building, only to see some sort of rally at the park.
Hilda not being interested in such thing tried to tip-toe around it but apparently Cheren has some kind of sixth sense and immediately looks at the pair before both could even do a move. "Hey, you two, come over here." Cheren called, and even if Hilda tries as much as her might, Touya still drags her towards the crowd, which chatter grew louder by the second.
Giving Touya a single glare before focusing on what this was about, they can see a group of silver-armored clad standing in a line, with two holding some sort of flag with a 'P' symbol on it. A the front of them, a green-haired man wearing a poncho of some sort with weird eye symbol and a giant crown-looking thing on the neck. In short, the person's probably a nutjob.
Said statement did not help with what the person is saying to the crowd, something about liberating Pokemon and how people are actually misusing them for their own needs. Touya was yawning throughout the whole thing, barely listening to it with interest, Hilda was glaring sharply at the man talking, knowing he's definitely bad news to begin with saying such controversial words, and Cheren only listens half-heartedly throughout the whole ramble, also deducing the rally to be an insane talk.
As the armored-clad group around the green-haired man and walk away towards the next route, the citizens of the town are still somewhat in a struck, continuing to chatter a bit before also coming to the point that the rally was nothing more than a word of an insane man. With the townsfolk finally leaving the park and returning back to their daily activities, the trio and another green-haired teen are left standing at the park where the rally was held.
"What do you two think about what the man said?" Cheren asks the other two brunets beside him, "absolute bonkers. Seriously? Pokemon and people having to be separated? I'm pretty insane myself but I think that's another whole level of craziness." Hilda finishes with a huff, in which Touya could only sweat-drop a bit. "I wasn't really listening, it doesn't sound important, what about you Cheren?" Touya asks the black-haired teen.
"Well-" And before Cheren could speak, the green-haired teen who was off a bit beside them had somehow came close and is now standing right beside the group.
"Just now…your Pokemon were saying…" This had surprised Hilda enough, instinct taking over and jumping over to Touya's arms, "What the hell man?! Don't creep up on people like that!" She scolded the green-haired teen, "Agreed, don't speak to quick either, we can't understand you…and what is this about Pokemon talking?" Cheren inquired of the green-haired teen. A closer look on the teen tells that he's probably early in adulthood, he's a lot taller than anyone she knew, wearing a plain white jacket over a black turtleneck and beige pants, a black white cap similar of that to Touya and Hilda's, as well as a weird diamond-shaped necklace and a weird-looking rubix cube hanging on his pants.
"Yes, they're talking. Oh, it seems that none of you can hear it either…how sad. My name is N." The teen introduced, and in a fashion of formality and to Hilda's annoyance, Cheren introduced themselves to him. "My name is Cheren, and this is Hilda and Touya. We were asked to complete the Pokedex, and we just left on our journey. My main goal is to become the Champion, though." Cheren completed, thinking he has to tell every stranger he met about who he was and what his goal is. A glare was given to him from Hilda.
"The Pokedex, eh? So... You're going to confine many, many Pokémon in Pokeballs for that, then. I'm a Trainer, too, but I can't help wondering... Are Pokemon really happy that way?" N questioned the trio thoughtfully, in which the trio looks at each other, not really knowing how to answer such theoretical question.
"Touya was it? Let me hear your Pokemon's voice once more!" And with that, a wild Purrloin jumps from the bushes in front of N, letting a small mewl. "W-wait, what? Uh, go, Noodle!" Touya's Snivy jumps out of his pokeball, letting a shrill of hiss at the Purrloin. "Purrloin, use Scratch!" The Purrloin moves in to hit the Grass Snake with his sharp claws, "Oh no you don't, Noodle, circle around him and Vine Whip!" Following his trainer's command, Noodle slides around the cat's attack being a lot more nimble than the feline and as the Purrloin is getting ready to jump back, Noodle had manage to hit the cat with vines growing from his neck branch.
"More, let me hear what your Pokemon has to say! Purrloin, continue your assault!" The Purrloin brushes off the attack and went straight at the snake, hitting the snake before it can react sending it slightly backwards. "You're talking crazy talk, stranger, Noodle, leer then Vine Whip once more!" The Snivy sends a shivering glare at Purrloin, freezing him in place out of fear. With his guard down, he attacks the cat and quickly sending the Purrloin skirting towards N.
A big smile appears on Hilda's face as the other teens have been watching the small fight from a safe distance, "yeah, go Touya, I knew you could win it!" Hilda cheered from the sideline, watching Touya pick up his Snivy, "same here, but I couldn't have done it without you Noodle." The Snake just let out a very smug-looking grin, apparently having known that he did do a job well done like he had planned.
N had also healed the Purrloin in the meantime, saying a few caring words before letting the feline run back into the wild, lending a quizzical look from the other three people who's with him, before looking back at the male brunet. "I never expected to hear Pokemon say such a thing…but alas, my thought still stand. Pokemon will never reach their fullest potential if the continued to be confined in Pokeballs. I will change the world to help overturn this act of crime, to help those Pokemon who are suffering, because they are my friend." N says this with full confidence, his arm outstretched like he's giving a speech that man gave at the rally just before…before walking away like nothing happened.
"…What the fu-" Was all that could be said from the brunet.
"Indeed, what a strange guy, but I'm not going to worry about him. Trainers and Pokemon help each other out. Listen, I'm going on ahead. The next town, Striation City, has a gym leader. Every town has them and it's a good way to test your own strength. I wish to keep growing stronger, strong enough to take over the Champion League. I shall bid you two farewell, I hope to see you two and Bianca soon." Cheren left soon after he said those, going the same path N had gone to, towards Route 2.
Hilda could only sigh, dragging Touya by the hand towards the Pokemon Center. "What are you doing?" Touya could only ask in a deadpan tone, his Snivy is currently relaxing in the hood of his jacket. "We're healing your Pokemon of course, don't want to continue with a half-damage team right?" Hilda told Touya like it's a matter of fact thing, in which it is, and the Brunet only gives Hilda the slightest stare of 'I already know that', but given that Hilda is only looking straight as they entered the center, Touya deduced that Hilda's too stubborn to notice.
