Jack Bauer and his group continue to track down Stasevich and his dirty bomb. Jack knows that Nina Myers is in danger from Chapelle, a part of him wants to rescue her, but this bom takes priority. Stasevich seems to be heading for a densly populated area, he and Sabzi would naturally want maximum casualties. But it is clear that they will detonate early if they think they're about to be captured. Jack, Tony, Audrey, and Chloe know that, if they find these terrorists in time, they'll have to move fast and hard, can't take the chance of any of them pushing the button.

.

At CTU Chapelle brings Nina to a bunker below the main building.

.

Nina: So, CTU has it's own doomsday bunker now?

Chapelle: Yeah, a way we can work even if the worst happens.

Nina: So why bring me down here? I can't imagine your real superiors want me alive.

Chapelle: True, but killing you now would raise too many questions. Still, being upstairs when the terrorists detonate, that would attract less suspicion.

Nina: So the bomb is being brought to CTU?

Chapelle: I honestly don't know, but they'd probbly want to hit CTU. I cana rrange for you to be down here, should that happen. You were a valuable asset once, you can be again.

Nina: I've had to live with the guilt of betraying my country, telling myself I only did what I had to do to save my child. You don't have that leverage over me anymore.

Chapelle: I have your life.

Nina: I'd rather die.

President Donovan paces nervously at the Camp David medical facility. He has nothing to do but nervously wait for news of whether CTU has stopped the nuclear dirty bomb, or whether Hekmetyar is alive. He hates to wait like this, but there is nothing else he can do.

.

Hekmetyar begins to wake up. He is tied up in the back of a van. Mandy points her gun at him.

.

Hekmetyar: Why are you helping Sabzi?

Mandy: It's a living.

Hekmetyar: So you have no cause?

Mandy: The world's a scary, violent, hard place. All any of us can do is what's best for ourselves.

Hekmetyar: A person needs a reason to go on living, a cause greater than themselves. Or else what's the point?

Mandy: Maybe there is no point, ever think of that?

Hekmetyar: Occassionally such thoughts enter my mind. But I will not give in to that despair. I have made mistakes, and eventually Allah will judge me for them, but I have always done what I believed was best for my people.

Mandy: So have I except "My people" is limited to myself.

.

Sabzi waits for Mandy's team to arrive with Hekmetyar. It was risky, bringing him here alive. Still, Sabzi was obsessed with vengeance. Last year, his 13 year old wife had fled, been given assylum in America. Sabzi tried to have her killed, but that failed, and he lost good operatives as a result. And now, he was still obsessed with revenge. He would make him pay for capitulating to the americans.
