A Tale of A Nine Tail Chapter 6

Previously...

"You wanted a demon?" She asked and lifts her head slowly to reveal her eyes once more and she had a scary grin on her face looking out at the audience. "Well now looks like you've got your wish." She giggled a bit before jumping off the stage and up into the sky. "Here comes your death wish cause now your facing me." She stated looking down at the crowd.

Earlier...

Backstage Nami and Robin were witnessing the true brutality and hatred the town had against Aria. Nami though was more pissed about not getting her prize money. Robin on the other hand understood completely what Aria was going through since she had a similar childhood. And then they felt warmth explode outwards from Aria after she was struck by a rock. Both Nami and Robin were a little winded from being pushed back by that burst of warmth and a when they looked back up at the stage they saw fire surrounding Aria like a protective cocoon and her ears and tail were out.

"Nami I believe it is time to get out of the way." Robin calmly said and had to drag Nami away from the stage for their safety.

Back with the Strawhats the male crew were just shocked at how these people treated Aria. Luffy though was pissed. Pissed at these people for hurting his crew's new artist! And he needs Zoro to calm her down like before! "Zoro! You have to stop foxy girl! She's gonna be our artist! If she joins the crew we can get our baker to join too!" He proclaimed to which waved his hand nonchalant. "Yeah yeah I got it Luffy." He ties his bandana around his head and placed Wado in his mouth and runs off and blocks Aria's nails from dealing a death blow to Antonio who was the cause of most of the pain Aria had suffered.

"Looks like we get a rematch fox." He managed to say with Wado in his mouth smirking a little. She grinned and backflipped away a good distance from Zoro. She giggled with her foxy grin plastered on her face, "Your quite a lot of fun swordsman. And you have the most alluring scent to my host and myself. I promise I won't break you... much." She giggled again and charged at him with incredible speeds and the clash with steel and nails. The Mitsu Family could only standby and watch knowing that interfearing with this fight could result in Aria unintentionally hurting them.

"Daddy I don't like standing by and watching this. We have to do something!" Ray-Ray expressed her emotions to her father. Sora sighed and placed a hand on her youngest's shoulder in comfort. "Honey we have to let this unfold. You know Aria's inner animal is in control and she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she hurt you. Let Zoro handle this he may not know it but he's helping her in more ways then one." Her mother explained. She knows this better then her daughters. She gone through similar events in her life after gaining her devil fruit powers.

"You know your mother is right Ray-Ray." Ken spoke up. "I don't like this anymore then you do little lamb, but your mother did help you both train and develop your devil fruit abilities. Trust her like you always have that Aria will be alright." Ken looked over at the fight as it was quickly escalating and those two could destroy the town square. "Course a little interference wouldn't hurt." His left hand became granite and he kneels down and place his hand on the cobblestone road and made some of the cobblestone rise in the foot path of his eldest daughter's feet.

Aria cried out and stumbled over her two left feet as the moving cobblestone trips her. Gravity starts to work and Aria starts to tumble forward into Zoro who was also tripped by the cobble stone road. To each of their horror they fall to the floor and roll along the ground before coming to a stop with Aria on top of Zoro with her face in his neck. Aria took a deep breath to catch her breath only to smell something amazing. Her mind calmed and she took another deep breath and enjoy the musky scent. She didn't even notice Zoro sitting up causing Aria to slide into his lap. Her tails wags happily behind her as she takes another whiff of him.

"Oi! What the hell are you doing?" He asked incredulously unsure of what to do with this women sitting in his lap who continued to sniff him. Aria felt so relaxed that it made her comfortable enough to take on her tiny Fox form. She slowly began shrinking to a small white fox with three red curled tuffs of fur on her head, dark red fur on her legs, and finally six long and curled red tails. She yawned and curled up in his lap to fall asleep.

"Wh-What the hell?!" Zoro was just stunned at what just happened to his opponent. She angry one minute and the next she's in his lap sleeping!

"Zoro! Zoro!" Luffy called out for his swordsman. He finds them at the bottom of the hill and started laughing at the hilarious picture in front of him. Tough Zoro with a sweet little fox in his lap and empty cloths to the side. "Shishishi! You look funny!" He ran down the hill and crouched down in front of Zoro. He looked at the tiny fox in Zoro lap and the empty cloths of his future painter beside him. Luffy eyes widen as he look at the cloths then the tiny fox.

"AHHHH! The fox ate our painter! Spit her out!" Luffy screech as he goes to grab the fox out of Zoro's lap.

Zoro growls under his breath and lifts his fist in the air. "Idiot! This is our damn painter! She turned into this puny fox!" Zoro fist fall on Luffy head.

"Oh! Phew that's good!" Luffy smiles which only causes Zoro to sigh. Why did he follow such a captain? The fox in his lap sighs in content reminding the two pirates what still has to get done.

"Let's get out of here and get our painter to safety!" He bounced back to his feet and waits for Zoro to follow him.

"Come on Zoro! Let's go!" Luffy pulled Zoro to his feet. He used one hand to slide his two swords back into his sheath while the other arm holding the sleeping fox.

"There you two are! We have to hide Aria from the town. Where is she anyway? Why is her clothes on the ground?" Chopper ask as he looks at the messy pile on the ground then the fox in Zoro arms. "Ahhh! The fox ate Aria! What do we do?! What do we do?!" Chopper screams as he runs around. Only if he can stop long enough to smell her, he would realize the fox is Aria, and the fox smells like her.

"Chopper stop! Aria is the damn fox!" Zoro sigh as he just wants this day to be over with.

Chopper stops and looks at the fox. "Oh. It is her." Chopper squeaks as he grabs her cloths. "I really think we should hide her until everything settles down Luffy!" Chopper suggested to which Luffy took the question in stride.

"Then let's hide in the forest!" Luffy states and continued dragging Zoro around knowing if he let him go then he would get lost as soon as he took two steps! "Will you stop dragging me around Luffy!" Zoro glares as he, Luffy and Chopper run into the forest.

Back at Town Square...

Ken was livid. He was staring down at Antonio. The same bratty boy that caused his daughter so much pain over the years and he was beyond pissed. He grabbed the boy by the tuff of his shirt to lift him up to be eye to eye. "You think I didn't know about your actions towards my daughter boy? You're sorely mistaken!" Antonio was sweating beads now that he was facing the demon's father.

Ken is a respectable and important citizen to the island and when you piss him off get ready to hide! He will kick your ass and his wife was even scarier to boot! "You son are gonna pay for your actions! If I was mayor right now I would exile you from the island!" Ken tossed the boy back onto the ground and he attempts to scramble back up to his feet. "But since that isn't possible I guess letting Ray-Ray have some fun with you would suffice." Ken smirked knowing his little lamb was just as dangerous.

Antonio snorts and laughs at what Ken said. Ray-Ray deal with him? Ha! The old man must be messing around with him! "You losing your mind old man? What can Ray do to me? She's too sweet to hurt a fly." Antonio stated as he shakily gets back onto his feet.

Ray-Ray puffs her cheeks in anger. She shuffles her feet getting ready to charge at the boy that caused her big sister so much pain. She was gonna make him pay with one hit. This is what he gets for thinking so little of her. Weak my ass! Her mother wisely took a few steps back to let her youngest charge at the boy. "Ram-Ram Batter-Ram!" She ran at such incredible speeds she was blur to the naked eye! Her horns slam into Antonio stomach and it launches him into the air all the way across the town. "That's what you get for hurting my sister!" She shouted into the sky as she watched him become a little twinkle in the sky. "Finally! I got him back for Ari!" She was laughing and jumping while Franky and Usopp were stunned at how assertive and powerful Ray-Ray was. They had no idea she had that in her.

Sora smiles and glanced to the side and notice Luffy, Zoro, and Chopper running off into the forest with her daughter in her little cute form. "Ken! Ray! Zoro and Luffy have Aria safely to the forest. Let's get them to the house!" Sora shouted to which both nod and all three run into the island's forest leaving behind the rest of the Strawhat crew.

"Everyone. I believe it would be best to make sure Luffy doesn't get into any more trouble." Robin said as she makes her way to the forest with everyone following behind her.

With Luffy, Chopper, and Zoro...

They were still running around in the forest with Aria in Zoro's arms and Chopper still carrying Aria cloths.. "Luffy, I think we're far away enough to stop running!" Chopper states still a little worried with how Aria's health was. Before Luffy could respond Sora, Ken, and Ray-Ray come into view running beside them.

"Boys its best to take Aria home!" Sora advises them

"She feels safer at home!" Ray-Ray added as she ran beside her mother easily. "And your crew will be safe there too! Daddy's taking them to the house now!"

Luffy grinned happy that his crew was able to follow. "Great! Show us the way baker!" Ray-Ray smiled and took the lead of taking them to her home.

They arrived as rustic but sturdy two story house that had been built around the trees surrounding it. Sora and Ray lead Luffy, Chopper and a begrudging Zoro carrying Aria in his arm inside the house. There was two dark brown couches and a wooden coffee table covered with drawings and drawing materials strewn around the coffee table and a fire place currently on a very low burning. Sora had Zoro sit down close to the fire place and had Luffy and Chopper sit on the couch. "Here Chopper, I'll take Ari's clothes." Ray took the clothes and headed up the stairs leading to the second floor and to their rooms.

"Would any of you like something to eat while we wait for the rest of your friends to get here?" Sora offered them. "Ooh! Oh! Do you have any meat?" Luffy immediately asked causing Sora to laugh at the young captain.

"I have some dry salami and crackers and a few of Ray's treats." She then walked over to the open kitchen that was in perfect view of the living room. Luffy couldn't help but be curious of the home and wanting to explore the place. Zoro was still staying quiet and holding Aria in her fox form. He was unsure of why he was still holding the fox girl. But as he continued wracking through his thoughts the fire was beginning to lull him to sleep while sitting up and holding the sleeping Aria in his arms.

Sora walked into the living room with the snack on a platter and she smiles when she spots Zoro and her daughter both asleep near the fire place. Sora quietly snorts at Zoro sleeping like this. He was a lot like his mother whether he knew it or not. Sora set the snacks down and almost lost a hand when Luffy was snatching up handfuls of the salami!

"Well at least Aria isn't the only one who likes her meat." Sora chuckled as she spots her youngest coming down the stairs with a set of clothes for Aria.

"Ari! I have some clothes for you!" Ray said happily this waking up her sleeping sister who poofs back to her human form but her ears and tail stayed. This action promptly stirs Zoro awake and starts blushing like mad with Aria practically naked in his lap! Aria noticed she wasn't in her bed like she usually wakes up in but rather in someone's lap. She looked up to find Zoro's blushing red face... it took a moment before the shock and surprise got to her and she screams and pushed herself off his lap and fell into a backwards summersault off Zoro. Her tails kinda cover her private parts and her boobs as she sat up from her little roll and blushing red like a tomato. "What the hell was I doing in your lap?!" She asked incredulously.

"Aria! I have your clothes! Come on I'll explain it later!" Ray quickly yanked her sister up and pulled her away from the living room and to the bathroom for her to change. "You better explain this Ray!" They Heard Aria shout as they closed the bathroom door leaving Sora and the three Strawhats in the living room.

"Well that was certainly entertaining." Sora grinned and she was gonna tease her daughter so much after this! Sora then heard the door open with her husband entering the house with the rest of the Strawhat crew. "Well now, looks like everyone is here! I'll make some dinner!" Sora said cheerfully heading to the kitchen to cook up a large meal for the guests and her family.

"Excuse me m'lady But I believe I should cook for everyone. I don't believe a lady should work so hard to feed this unruly crew." Sanji immediately said jumping in-front of the Mitsu mother. Sora just shook her head. "Son I've been cooking for my family for nearly 20 years. I know how to please a crowd." She smirked and continued forward into the kitchen before again Sanji steps in-front of her. "Please ma'am I insist." He offered again holding her hand in a delicate manner before Sora could say anything else her oh so wonderful husband punched Sanji away from his wife with his arm covered in granite rock.

"You stay away from my wife son." Ken warned the ship cook. Ken wasn't afraid of his wife leaving him they were soulmates after all. But he couldn't help but be angered at this boy's advances towards his wife and calling her a delicate women. His wife was the strongest women in all of the Grandline!

Sanji was a little pissed that Ken interrupted his attempt to convince the Mitsu mother to let him cook. And before either one could start a fight Sora stepped in smack her husband with her wooden spoon. "Ken Mitsu we have guests! There is no need to punch the boy. And you boy I don't like being set to the sidelines. I'm far from a 'delicate' women. Now both of you out of my kitchen right now!" She seethed and caused both men to scurry out of the kitchen not wanting to feel her wrath.

Aria and Ray emerge from the bathroom with Aria fully clothes in a blue t-shirt with a little fox wearing glasses and a text that read 'Foxy Nerd', some skinny jeans and a pair of socks and converse shoes. Her tails and ears were out and she felt more at peace with those appendages back. Both siblings noticed their father and that pervy blonde get kicked out of the kitchen. They both giggled knowing they faced mama's wrath. As Aria stepped out to the living room she felt her cheeks heat up quite a bit and hugs herself as the events from before with her waking up naked and in Zoro's lap just made her feel uncomfortable. And for Luffy and Chopper to see it as well just worsened the feeling. She shuffled her feet and made it over to her dad who was sitting in his chair. She sat herself next to the chair hugging her knees and hiding her face from the rest of the guests in the house.

"What's wrong my little fox?" Ken asked her as he ran his hand along her hair and scratched the ears. The ears were a weak spot for Aria and it made her purr in delight. "Come on little one just tell me what's bothering you."

Aria blushed thinking back just a little while ago to what happened with her waking up from her nap. No, she couldn't tell her dad what happened she didn't want her dad to kill Zoro. "Nothing is wrong Dad." Ken raised a brow knowing that wasn't the real answer.

"Sweetie I know your hiding something. Please I want to help." Ken pressed on a little more hoping his little fox would open up and tell him what was bothering her.

Aria sighed, "And I promise, I'm just... tired after what happened tonight." She gave him a weak smile and felt her heart twist and stretch as the memories of tonight would forever be ingrained into her brain. Her thoughts were interrupted when the Strawhats captain began whining about being hungry and his crew just sigh in annoyance to Luffy's unsatisfied appetite.

"Luffy we have more pressing matters to deal with then your stupid bottomless pit of a stomach." Nami states still annoyed that the pageant was cut short and that she didn't get her money!

"I have to agree with Nami on this Luffy." Robin agreed that they should get off the island before Luffy causes any sort of trouble on the island.

"If you all plan on leaving the island you'll have to wait until the island settles down after what happened recently." Ken said knowing the island is out for his daughter's blood. "Just wait until dawn to leave. For now I think everyone could get a nice meal from my wife and good nights rest."

"Dad there's no hiding the fact that the island is on its last straw with me being here in the island. They're gonna either drown me in the water or hang me to satisfy themselves." Aria stated as the tears were prickling at the edges of her eyes as she stared into the hardwood floor of the living room.

"If those heathens think of laying a hand on my family I'm gonna show them not to mess with a mother bear and her cubs." Sora states as she brings in an array of food for her family and guests. Luffy immediately starts drooling at the sight of all the food laid out on the table. "Now let's forget what happened for now and have something to eat. I'm sure everyone is quite hungry." The three Mistu's immediately ran to the table and began chowing down and Luffy joins them in devouring as much food as he could get. His crew followed suit in hopes to have some of the delicious food before it gone.

"Oh! Baker and painter, join my crew!" Luffy had his cheeks bulging out like a chipmunks cheeks and crumbs of food and grease decorating his lips. His statement caused both Mistu sisters to almost choke on their food.

"I thought I-" Aria started a coughing fit and managed to settle her breathing to a low and almost hoarse voice. "I'm telling you I don't want to join a pirate crew. Never ever will!" She abruptly got up and left the dinning room and headed outside to the backyard and into the forest. She was still trying to get over her uncle's death. That anger, that resentment towards pirates had only grown for her since that day.

"I'm sorry Luffy but I'm not joining the crew if my sister isn't. Where she goes I go." Ray was firm with her answer. She wasn't gonna ditch her sister at the chance to leave the island. They were both unhappy on this island they call home.

"So if I can get the painter to join then you can join Baker?" Luffy asked her leaning over the table with the curious look on his face with his lip peppered with grease and crumbs around his mouth. Ray was a little uncomfortable with how close Luffy was. "U-Uh yes I suppose. But convincing her to go with you guys is next to impossible." Ray stated knowing how stubborn her sister is sometimes. But she just wishes her sister would at least consider joining this crew of pirates. They don't seem like the average pirate crew. They seem more like a bunch of misfits that seem to work really well together despite their differences.

Luffy grinned showing off his teeth and gums sits back into his chair and began laughing. "Shishishi! Don't worry I'll get the painter to join! And then you can join and make more of those bacon bread thingies!" Ray raised an eyebrow in question. She didn't know whether to consider this captain to be very brave or very naive to convince her sister to join this misfit crew.

With Aria...

Aria sighed as she sat by her parents secret pond with her sketch pad and black charcoal pencil. She was staring at a blank page and a pencil waiting to hit that paper and draw... Aria cried out in frustration and tossed her pad behind her with charcoal pencil in tow. They land unceremoniously behind her and Aria was running her hands threw her hair in anger and frustration. Drawing always helped her clear her mind as she seemed to draw to her emotions and let them show through her work. But now with the recent events of the pageant and that stupid Antonio boy ruined her happiness and finally sending the island in turmoil from her snapping and devil fruit abilities running amok... she didn't know how to feel now...

"Why me? Why must I live such a life full of hatred?" Tears prickled her eyes as she props her head on her hand. She sniffles a bit and stood up before scooping up a few flat rocks. She skips two of them before skipping the last one.

"I have often dreamed, of a far off place

Where a great warm welcome

Will be waiting for me."

She inhaled as a nice warm breeze brushed past her and the breeze blowing around her loose bangs and looking up at the stars with a smile.

"The people will smile

When they see my face.

And a voice keeps saying

'This is where I'm meant to be.'"

She picked up her discarded sketch book and charcoal pencil and began walking away from the secluded pond. She slowly treks her way through the trees easily as she had done this walk a thousand times over. She looked up from looking down at the path and smiled at the sight of a large tree near the path. She walks up to it and sets her sketch book and pencil down and begins expertly climbing the old tree.

"I will find my way

I can go the distance

I'll be there someday

If I can be strong."

She stops right a large branch big enough to hold her and had the complete view of the nearby town across the forest and the sight of the open ocean glittering under the moonlight. She smiled looking at the stars again and caught a shooting star streaming across the sky before disappearing into the star filled sky.

"I know every mile

Will be worth my while

I can go the distance

To feel like I... belong."

She sighed and begins climbing down the tree. Once she reached ground level she picked up her sketch pad and pencil and trails onward for home. When she emerges from the forest and into her backyard she doesn't bother going inside and instead, favors to go up to the roof. She climbed up a tree next to the back porch and reaches the edge of the roof by one of the branches and hops onto the roof and reaches the high point and sits down. She sighed in content and opens up her sketch book and began sketching and drawing to her hearts content.

Down below in the kitchen...

Sora was happily picking up the empty plates and dishes and cleaning up after her family and that pirate crew was done eating. As she washed one of the dishes she heard a thump and footsteps on the roof and it made Sora smile. She knew her eldest was back and this was her alone time to collect herself. She'll have to bring her plate up to her after she was done with the kitchen. Sora glances over at her youngest who was sitting quietly at the table while the Strawhats and her husband were all talking. Sora wasn't surprised at how quiet she became after her sister left the house. Those two are thick as thieves and they will go through hell and back for each other.

Ray-Ray glances around the table and felt a little uncomfortable and felt herself shake a bit. She needed to step away from the table and get some air to settle her heart. It's been beating against her chest like a blacksmith using a hammer to shape the metal ore into the desired weapon. "Daddy may I be excused?" She quietly asked her father.

Ken stopped mid sentence and turned to his youngest with a small smile and nods. "Go right ahead little lamb. Take your time." Ray smiled in thanks and left the table and went to help her mother. She then noticed her mother heating up a plate of food for her sister and it got her thinking. The gears were turning inside her head and she felt a little light bulb light up when an idea hit her!

"Momma? Could I take Ari's dinner to her?" Ray suddenly requested her mother. Her mother paused momentarily and looked at her youngest.

"Sure Ray-Ray but what brought this about?" She asked her and resumed to pull out the plate for her eldest and placed a fork and knife on the plate and some bottled water.

"I just wanna try and talk to Ari about that offer Luffy made for us." Ray quietly admits blushing a little and glanced to the side to avoid her mothers gaze. Sora only smiled, "Alright little lamb. But be mindful of this. The pirate life isn't something everyone can adjust to. It's a hard life when running from marines and other pirates alike. You know this, just..." Sora sighed a little worried. "Choose your words carefully and really think about pirate life. It's never an easy life I should know." Sora chuckled a little before handing her youngest the plate of food. "Now go give that to your sister before it goes cold." She ushered her little lamb outside to the backyard.

On the roof...

Aria was just finishing up the partially done sketching of her latest work when her ears twitched and and she glances up and spots her little sister coming up the roof with her dinner. Ray smiled a little, "You almost didn't notice me coming up. You must be working on a new piece." She notes quietly as she sets the plate down for her sister. Aria smiled back and set her book and pencil down before eating. "I am. I think it might be on of the best ones I've done so far." Aria said as she dug into the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Ray-Ray just smiles and looks up at the stars shining brightly with no moon to shroud their beauty from its own moonlight. "I never get tired of seeing the stars on a moonless night." Ray said absently as she lays on her back. Her hair splayed out a little under her body. "I bet the marines and pirates see this more often when sailing across the Grandline then on an island." She added and Aria stopped mid chew glancing over to her sister. She wasn't sure what game she was playing at with her but she'll play along for now. She went back to eating to let her sister continue her talking.

"You know we can't stay on this island much longer Ari. Not after what happened earlier..." Aria's left eyebrow twitch's at the hint of the events from earlier. "I know you hate being here and you know that I hate being here too. So... can you please just think about Luffy's offer?" She turned her head to see if her big sister would explode in anger at the mention of the rubber captain. Aria didn't have a look of anger on her face more of a exasperated look.

"You know my answer to that Ray-Ray. I'm not going to associate myself with any kind of pirate!" She said with an even voice. Her anger leaked out in that sentence. She still hasn't let go of what happened to Uncle Johnny all those years ago with that Gold Digger Mason.

Ray-Ray shouted in frustration and sat up and turned her full attention to her elder sister. "Aria will you for one damn second get your head out of your ass and think!" Aria nearly shrunk back from surprise and astonishment at her sister's outburst. "Luffy and the others are not like those pirates all those years ago! None of the pirates that we've met are like them! Not everyone is a bad person! This crew is so much more different! I can feel it!" Ray-Ray said in slight desperation. She wanted to leave this island so much but, she wasn't doing it without taking her sister with her! And she wasn't gonna leave her here at the island's mercy of cruelty and torture any longer!

"This crew didn't kill Uncle Johnny! That crew is long gone and you know that! This crew is the nicest one besides mama's crew that have ever shown us both that they don't care about our past! Get it through your thick head for once dammit!" Ray spilled out so much sadness and frustration in her outburst.

Her sister was so damn stubborn and she just couldn't let go of her past! This was the perfect opportunity for them BOTH to leave this accursed island! Having enough Ray-Ray got up and jumped off the roof and into the backyard and went for a walk into the forest to clear her head and let her sister think over what she said. She knew her sister will either have to give in by the morning or she will lose her sister to the stupid town! As Ray-Ray continued her walk she didn't notice the boy Antonio coming up behind her. Ray heard a twig snap and turned around to find what caused it before she screamed out of surprise and Antonio snapping on a pair of sea-stone cuffs and covering her mouth up with a cloth to silence the younger sister.

Back at the house Aria was just too confused and pissed off to finish her dinner and with her hands covering her face to hide her slowly coming tears and her ears were flat against her head. Her sister was right, she just couldn't let go of the past. She couldn't let go the fact that she was the cause of Uncle Johnny's death. She just can't deal with it! Her heart was still wrenching from the pain and hurt of that day. Nightmares still plagued her dreams to this day... her ears shot up when she heard a scream close by in the forest behind their backyard. Was that her sister's scream?! "Ray-Ray?" She called out and heard nothing in reply. "RAY-RAY!"

To be continued...
