Chapelle is planning the assault on the safehouse. The plan would make sure Sabzi is alerted in time, and he'll murder Hekmetyar immediately. He doesn't realize he's just tightening the noose around his own neck. In the meantime Carrie Turner informs Chapelle that Sabzi and the terrorists have begun their broadcast, and are getting to ready Hekmetyar.

Santos comes to president Donovan's office to inform him of the recent development.

Donovan: Any news on Chapelle's arrest?
Santos: He'll be in custody within the hour. He's getting ready to send CTU resources far away from the fake safehouse. But Sabzi has just begun a broadcast. Hekmetyar tied up, Sabzi accusing him of collaborating with the great Satan.
Donovan: They're getting ready to execute him. What about Jack Bauer's rescue efforts?
Santos: Last I heard these three were getting ready for the assault. Hopefully they'll be able to get him in time. But we don't know if this is a live broadcast or not. If it's not live, then Hekmatyar is already dead.

Jack Bauer is in the sewars, according to Chloe the terrorist safehouse is right past this wall. One explosive should get them right into the basement. The plan is to hit hard and fast while George and Tony attack from above. Hopefully the confusion can be used to their advantage.

Sabzi continues to stand over a drugged Hekmetyar, reading the charges against him. In truth Sabzi is gloating, enjoying seeing his old friend suffer. But he knows he has to do this soon, before the americans find them.

President Donovan watches the terrorist broadcast. He knows millions are also watching, some hoping for a rescue, some hoping to see Hekmetyar get beheaded.

Jack sets the timer on the explosive for 30 seconds, and quickly takes cover. He can only hope that Tony and Mason act on time.

Tony and Mason begin their assault on time, shooting the three neo-nazi guards.

Watching the broadcast president Donovan hears the gunshots in the distance, the guards seem distracted, hopefully this means it's not too late.

Jack's explosion goes off on time. He has to aim carefully, and quickly, making sure to only shoot the terrorists, and not Hekmetyar. Soon the terrorists are all down, Hekmetyar's drugs seem to have worn off. Sabzi is wounded, but alive. He sees Luke's gun on the floor, tries to grab it and finish the job. Hekmetyar sees this and shouts for Jack to watch out. Jack sees Sabzi and shoots Sabzi in the head, killing him finally.

President Donovan breathes a sigh of relief, his ally is safe.

Split screens show Donovan shaking Santos' hand in celebration, Chapelle getting ready to assault the fake safehouse, Jack bringing Hekmetyar up the stairs to meet with Tony and Mason.

Carrie Turner informs Chapelle of the development.

Carrie: It's over.
Chapelle: If Hekmetyar is dead we still need to kill or capture the terrorists responsible.
Carrie: He's been rescued, by Jack Bauer.
Chapelle: Why would Jack Bauer rescue Hekmetyar?
Carrie: I don't know. At any rate, it wasn't near where we were about to hit. How does Jack Bauer have better intel than us?
Chapelle: I don't know. Anyway I have to brief senator Allen.

Chapelle then goes to his office and again calls senator Allen immediately.

Chapelle: Jack Bauer has rescued Hekmetyar.
Allen: I know.
Chapelle: What now, with him alive Donovan might actually get a peace deal.
Allen: Not after what comes next. President Donovan will still be forced to adopt a more aggressive foreign policy.
Chapelle; There's something else, this might have been a set-up. Sabzi wasn't even close to where we were told he was.
Allen: Do you have protocols in place to flee?
Chapelle: Yes.
Allen: Use them, I'll be doing the same.
