Wakko Runs Away

Chapter 9

Sorry about the long wait for the next chapter. I've had a very bad case of writer's block and wasn't sure how I wanted this next chapter to go.

When the sun rose the next morning, Yakko got up and started his self-promised search for Wakko and Dot.

However, upon heading out, he was really hungry, but there was no place for him to eat, and he didn't have any money, so he would have to go on without breakfast. Besides, that was second nature to getting his family back together. He wasn't going to stop for anything until he accomplished his mission.

The problem was, he didn't know where to start. Although he could go back and retrace their steps, it would be hard to find them not knowing where either one of them went.

"Please let Wakko and Dot be okay," Yakko said to the sky. "I would totally die if anything happens to them."

Dot was still stuck at the run-down house that several teenagers lived in without adult supervision.

Though Dot tried to call the police on the kids last night, she was unsuccessful, as one of them seemed to always be awake at some point or another during the night. This morning, she was trying again to escape and call the cops, the kids were still watching her closely.

"Oh Dot, what did you do to deserve this?" she said to herself. Hopefully Dot would somehow get another chance to call the cops on these unruly teenagers and escape her debacle.

Just as Dot attempted to leave her dumpy room and find a telephone, another idea came to mind.

"Maybe I should try to escape from the bedroom window," she whispered to herself, not wanting the kids to hear her new plan.

Dot walked over to the window to try and open it, but it was jammed shut.

"Oh, great," said Dot. "The window's broken. How am I going to get out now?"

Just then, an idea came to Dot. "What about the windows in the other bedrooms?", she thought. Dot tiptoed out of her bedroom, hoping none of the kids would hear her. As she moved down the hallway, she peeked into each room to make sure the coast was clear.

Just then, one of the kids was stepping upstairs and Dot tried to move out of sight before she was caught.

Wakko decided he was going to go back to Yakko and Dot. But before he moved on, he had to have some breakfast. He reached into his gag bag to find what was still edible for him.

Once he finished his breakfast, he needed to take a bathroom break before moving on. He reached into his gag bag and found his toilet. All he needed was a bush to hide behind while he was going.

Once he was finished with that, he began walking back to Burbank. He wanted so bad now to tell Yakko and Dot how much he missed them and how sorry he was for running away from them.

Even though Wakko was walking down the same path he came from, he was starting to get confused. He had totally forgotten which direction Burbank was.

"I don't know where to go," Wakko said. "Is Burbank that way? Or that way?" He was pointing in every possible direction, spinning enough so to make himself dizzy.

Before he knew it, Wakko had knocked himself out temporarily by being so dizzy.

Yakko was walking down the same path Wakko took (though he didn't know that), and noticed familiar footprints.

"Hmm," he thought. "These look like footprints of...whatever we are. I know they're not mine. I haven't seen them until now." The footprints immediately brought to mind whose they were. They must have been from...

"Wakko!" It finally occurred to Yakko that Wakko had come through here. He finally began to follow the footsteps and they kept going, but Wakko was nowhere in sight.

Dot finally managed to escape the dumpy shack she was forced into, and none of the teens noticed her sneak out. However, that didn't stop the teenagers from chasing after her down the street.

However, Dot managed to call the cops without getting caught before she escaped. While the kids were chasing her, the police showed up.

"Arrest them, officers!," Dot said angrily. "They kidnapped me!" The cops then took the kids to their car and drove them away.

With that out of the way, Dot made her main objective to head out and find her older brothers. She just hoped they were looking for her too.

After a while, Dot began to wonder if her brothers wanted her back or not. She has left Yakko's side and was very brutal with Wakko when he walked out on them. She was praying for forgiveness and another chance with the two people she adored most.

After a while, Wakko woke from his unconsciousness that resulted from dizziness. He wasn't sure where he was, but he knew that Yakko and Dot weren't there with him.

"Well, I guess it's time to start looking for Yakko and Dot," Wakko said, finally feeling well enough to walk.

While walking back down the path he took to get to where he was, he looked left and right for any signs of his siblings, but they were nowhere to be found.

Wakko soon realized that walking out on Yakko and Dot may have been the biggest mistake he had ever made in his life. Now, more than ever, he wanted to be with them and tell them how sorry he was for leaving them.

"Why?," Wakko asked to the sky. "Why did I have to leave Yakko and Dot? I forgive you both, but I hope you find me out here and that you'll take me in again!"

Just then, Wakko heard something from the bushes. He wasn't sure what it was, but he was certain it was a person roaming the area.

With the sound getting closer, Wakko started feeling more uncomfortable. He almost wanted to run for his life, not knowing what was coming his way.

Well, that's the end of chapter 9, folks. Hopefully, the Warner brothers (and Warner sister) are getting close to reuniting with each other. But it sounds like bigger problems are on the horizon for each Warner sibling. What's going to happen in the next chapter? You'll have to wait for it to find out.
