The following takes place between 2am and 3am. Events occur in real time.

Jack Bauer immediately contacts president Donovan, he needs to be warned immediately.

Donovan: Yes Jack?
Jack: Mr president we know the final target. It's a nuclear power plant, located just outside of Richmond Virginia. A plane is heading there right now.

President Donovan immediately enacts protocol, orders local fighter jets to search this area for unregistered planes. Hopefully they can stop it in time.

George Mason addresses the staff at CTU.

Mason: We've just learned the final terrorist target. It's a nuclear power plant, located outside of Virginia. President Donovan is taking all neccessary measures to try and stop them, but it might not be enough. I don't know where the radiation might reach. It's possible we can be evacuated if that happens. In the meantime, let's try to focus on our job of stopping these terrorists.

The technicians at the plant begin the emergency protocol to prevent the terrorists from being able to melt down the plant. Despite the danger to themselves, they stay to complete this. They also vow that, if the plant is taken over, they will not help the terrorists, regardless of the danger to themselves.

The terrorist pilot is close to the power plant. Then his radar picks up an american fighter jet heading towards them. He orders his associates, all fifty of them, to jump out of the plane.

The fifty terrorists begin bailing out. The fighter pilot takes aim. He's been patrolling the area since the attacks at the stadiums, no civilian plane would be allowed anywhere near a nuclear power plant, and the president has authorized him to shoot down this plane. He fires his missle, killing the pilot and three other terrorists who were unable to bail out in time. The fighter pilot tries to shoot the terrorists on their way down. But they're spead out and small targets. But more than forty terrorists make it down to the plant, and engage the guards in firefight. Most of the guards are soon killed, but two are able to secure the technicians and take them to a safe room. Unfortunately the terrorists are soon in control of the nuclear power plant.
