Here it is. Lay down, sip your glass of water and enjoy.
Also for some wondering when I might start adding the "canon." Bits in, like the simourgh Canberra attack. I might add it in I might not. This is before the start of "canon." So yeah. Also this is just something I'm writing right now. I haven't read the entire book of worm just yet, so I'm using google and just winging it when I write. My style of writing is keep in mind vaguely what the story line so far is and write of that. I think of what I want what to happen next though. So it isn't all entirely not though out.
Sorry for that. I just needed to say (or write.) that out. Onto the story.
POV: Assault/ Ethan.
Today is most defiantly not going well. Not at all. At first it looked like it was going to go well for Ethan, but now the city has an entire two blocks cornered off for investigation on the lasting effects of the parahumans abilities.
It was a disaster to go through. Almost two hundred people were coughs up in the incident. Or the 'Mad Event' as news people were calling it now. What was the news sense of naming? Although the name was a bit on the nose for the giant floating orb things that were the main focus for the naming of the event.
Now the supposed 'Villain' is detained in the most secure cell the Brockton Bay PRT has at the moment.
He's just a kid.
Now that may be his background and softness for children speaking. But Ethan truly believes the kid doesn't deserve what's happened to him. Now he's taking it up with the director at the moment.
"He's just a kid. He probably just triggered and was scared!"
"I don't care what you say Ethan!" Directer Piggot slammed her hands on the table. "Two hundred injured, forty dead, and seventy six people in M/S containment!"
That stopped him dead in seconds. They had been arguing for ten minutes now, and now she brings out the numbers. So it was a really bad trigger, there have been worse.
"There has been worse! That Canadian guy who to melt half a town when he triggered had a worse one!" It was petty but he had to say something.
"This isn't about what's worse. It's about that it happened.!" Piggot rubbed her for head and sighed. "I know he's a kid. But sometimes we have to make decisions, decisions we will not like. But are needed to be made. People are angry, family and friends of people who were hurt in the incident are incensed. They want blood and we can't afford to offer ours. This is a huge incident and we can't be caught helping the perpetrator."
"Why not." It came out a little heated but Ethan finally calmed down enough.
"Because people were killed and injured. But most of all they were mastered. Easily and quickly. That's why. People already have a heavy bias against masters. But one who can control the environment on a large scale, and can master people into madness. It reminds people of the Simourghs scream. The mindless anger and hate they displayed while attacking others who were with them. We can't take the heat. No matter what."
Ethan was quiet for a long time after that. His face was unreadable as he sat in the chair in front of the desk.
It was a tense silence for the couple of minutes before the director spoke up.
"If you have nothing to say get out of my office. I have to sort out this mess ."
With that Ethan stood up and walked toward the office door briskly and slammed the door close. Leaving a plump woman in her desk with a heavy heart.
Ethan brooded silently as he walked towards the cell the kid was in. His pace was brisk. He was left alone by everyone as he stalked towards the cell, his silent anger simmered with his quietness.
Finally he made it towards the cell. It wasn't so much a cell but a bare room with tinker tech hooked up around a solid uncomfortable bed holding the young boy. It also seemed as if the boy was already awake, his eyes staring morosely towards him.
"Hey little guy." He cringed when he said that, the boys eyes staring up at him made him feel guilty. "How're you doing?"
That was also not a good thing to say. Why's this happening now, he's usually great at conversations but this one is just going to be awkward.
The child stared up at him in what he assumed to be the 'are you serious' expression.
"Oh you're muffled and chained and locked up and- I'll just stop now." Geeze this is not going well at all.
"I'm sorry about that. But we can't take any chances with what has happened." The boys eyes stared at him in confusion. "You do know what happened. Right?"
The boy attempted to shake his head but he really couldn't. The bed he was on constricted his movement almost all of it.
"Ok blink once for yes and twice for no." There that should be ok.
"Let's do this again. Do you know what happened." Two blinks.
"Ok your powers were causing a lot of chaos, like two blocks of chaos. I'm assuming they were reacting to something such as a new trigger event. Am I right?"
The blonde boy stared at him with wide eyes and blinked once.
"Ok that's good to know. Now onto th-"
"Assault what are you doing here?" Oh that was Armsmaster.
"Oh, uh nothing. Just interrogating the prisoner here." Please believe that. It's technically the truth.
"True. But you were not assigned to questioning him. I was." Oh crap.
"I will have to report you now."
Shit
And that's it. It took a while for me to write and I was on it and was like why not just get through this one even if I don't like it and continue onto a more interesting chapter. So not my most favourite chapter I just had to get it done to continue.
Anyway you will learn what happened next chapter. Have a good day.
