Super Mario 2
ACT I
It has been a year since the Koopa Kingdom joined the Nintendo Powers and since the Kremling attack on Kongo Jungle. The world, since then, has been at peace. No wars have broken out and it's thanks to Mario, the brave plumber. He is seen as a hero to people in the World. The only hero. "It's not good boss." Said a large bipedal mouse with sun glasses. "It looks like the World is getting hope again." The mouse looked over to his leader. A giant fat frog with a cape and a crown is sitting in his throne, eating a cake, watching TV.
"Mouser… What did I say about not being optimistic?" Said the leader. "Always keep an open mind…"
"King Wart." Mouser said. "This Mario fella seems like bad news… I mean… Just yesterday he stopped a bank robbery in five minutes!"
"Obviously there is no stopping this guy if we go to him… But what if we could lure him to us…?" Wart suggests. He smiles and takes another bite of his cake.
"What are you suggesting?" Mouser asked.
"If we were to find a reason to lure Mario here to Subcon, we can kill him and then conquer the world." Wart said. "The world will lose it's hero… And we will gain the world."
"And how do you suggest we lure the hero here?" Mouser asks.
Wart looks to the TV screen. He hears Mario say "It's a me! Mario!" He looked closer and sees Princess Peach clapping in the background. "I think I have an idea." Wart said as he looked at Mouser. Mouser looked back at his king, and smiled. Immediately, Mouser left Wart's Castle and got a Magic Carpet ride over to World 2 where he met up with another one of Wart's minions: Tryclyde. A Snake with three heads. He fist bumped his head and told him to await further instructions. He then took another carpet over to World 3 and met with Clawgrip.
Mouser finally returned to Wart. "Hey boss… I recruited them once again." Tryclyde and Clawgrip stood behind Mouser smiling.
Wart looked at Mouser, Clawgrip, and Tryclyde. "Fellas… How would you like to take over the world?" A figure in a hood stood on the side of the throne room, listening in. He opened his backpack and took out a gun. He shot it and opened a portal and walked through.
Mario is in Peach's castle hiding behind a curtain. "Oh boy… You know, no matter how many times I do this, I never get used to it." He took a sip of water as Luigi walked over to his side.
"Hey bro. You're going to be great!" Luigi said as he massaged his brother's shoulders.
Mario turned around quickly, splashing his water in Luigi's face by mistake. "Of course I'm going to be great! I'm talking about the press. Being a hero is tough." Mario said as he walked over to the castle doors.
Luigi looked on as Mario walked away through the castle doors to talk to the people of the Mushroom Kingdom. "Boy. Mario sure has changed since he's gotten publicity!" Toadsworth said as he walked next to Luigi.
"Changed? Nah. He's always been like this." Luigi said. He and Toadsworth laughed.
Mario walked out of the castle doors onto the Bridge to Peach's castle. "And now, your hero, Mario!" Mario walked to the Podium where Princess Peach was standing. He walked up to the mic.
"Hello everyone! I'm glad to see you all of you are in good health… Thanks to me." The crowd laughed. Peach rolled her eyes, smiling. "May the Nintendo Powers grant us another era of peace! Like the one I've just granted us for the next decade- no. Century!" The people in the crowed cheered like they've never cheered before. Many people began raising their hands. Mario called on one.
"Mr. Mario? What do we do if there's another attack on the world?" A reporter asked.
"Simple. I'll just hit it with one of these." Mario readied a fireball in his hand and shot it to the sky. Everyone cheered and he bowed. He called on another reporter.
"Are you aware of the possibility of Legendary Pokémon awakening and destroying the continents we live on? What do we do then?" Asked a reporter.
Mario gasped. Then smiled. "Refer to answer 1." He looked at the crowd and saw Toad's and Hylian's all raising their hands trying to ask questions. Peach stepped in.
"That's all the time we have for today, folks!" the Princess said. "Mario will be in the Mushroom Kingdom all week!" She grabbed Mario's hand and walked back in to the castle. Mario waved goodbye to the crowd as he entered. Luigi and Toadsworth watched the two enter the castle. Peach let go of his hand and looked at him. "We have a problem." She said.
Mario jumped. "A problem?" He said. "How can we possibly have a problem? The Koopa Kingdom have joined the Nintendo Powers, Crocodile Island has been completely cleared of Kremlings, what could possibly go wrong right now?"
Peach rolled her eyes. "This is something different." She said. "Come with me." Mario, Luigi, and Toadsworth followed the Princess into her throne room. When they entered, they saw a small scientist in a labcoat sitting in the throne. "This is Professor E. Gadd." She said.
Professor E. Gadd got out of the chair and shook Mario's hand. "It is an honor to meet the Hero." He said.
"Right…" Mario replied. "Why is there a tiny old dude in the castle, exactly?" He asked. Luigi and Toadsworth laughed. Peach gave them a look and they immediately stopped and looked down.
"Tell him, Professor." Peach said.
Professor took his backpack off and took out a gun. "This here is a Subcon Ray. It allows you go to the mystical land of Subcon." He shot the gun. A portal opened. "Care to take a look?"
Mario shrugged and stepped forward. Toadsworth followed and so did Peach. Luigi stood still. "I don't know, bro. Maybe we shouldn't go." Luigi said. Mario rolled his eyes and told Luigi to suck it up. Luigi sighed and followed the group in to Subcon.
When they arrived, they saw a land that they've never seen before. It was covered in grass, was extremely bright and had little creatures called Shyguy's walking around. No Koopas or Goombas anywhere to be seen. "Woah… I thought this place was just a myth." Mario said.
"That's what they all say." responded.
"It's beautiful." Mario said. "Now. Why are we here?" He quickly turned to to ask.
started. "I've recently been exploring Subcon to gather it's rare materials. They're very useful. Why, it helped me build a Paintbrush for a young lad about a year ago!" Mario scowled at . "The King of Subcon, Wart, was recently talking about conquering the Mushroom Kingdom."
Mario started bursting out into laughter. "Oh yeah! I bet he is. Does he not know that we're the most powerful nation in the world?"
interrupted the plumber. "He does. He's much, much worse." Mario stopped laughing. Luigi shivered and Peach looked down at the Professor.
"Is there anything we can do to stop them?" She asked.
"What we could do, is destroy the portal from Subcon to the World." said. "A long time ago, Subcon used to exist within the Mushroom Kingdom, but Wart decided that he wanted to be King of his Own Nation. He sent Subcon to an alternate dimension with nothing but that continent in it. And here he rules."
"Where exactly is this portal?" Mario asked.
"The portal?" said. "The portal is at Wart's Castle. All the way over there." Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toadsworth looked in the distance. They saw Wart's Castle far off. It was covered in Gold and had defenses everywhere.
"There's no way we can get over there today." Luigi said. "We should get an army to come with us and make our way there as a group."
"They'll see you coming, that's a terrible plan." Professor said. Luigi looked down. "But I do agree that we cannot get there today." Luigi smiled. "We should head back to the Mushroom Kingdom and formulate a plan on how we can infiltrate the castle undetected before they decide to invade us. Let's go." Professor shot his portal gun again and the friends walked through it, arriving back at the Mushroom Kingdom. Hiding behind a bush in Subcon, was Mouser.
"You'll invade us, you say?" Mouser said.
Mouser walked in to Wart's throne room. "Master Wart." He said. "It seems that the Hero and his goons plan to invade us and destroy our access to the Mushroom Kingdom…" Tryclyde and Clawgrip laughed as Mouser explained their plan.
Wart got up and walked over to the group. He picked up his Portal Gun. "Then it seems we have no choice." He said. "Let's start the invasion tomorrow." He walked over to the bar in the throne room and made a drink for himself, Mouser, Tryclyde, and Clawgrip. "To a new nation…" Wart said as they all clinked drinks and laughed.
Mario sat down at the table with Luigi playing chess. "Checkmate! I win! You lose!" Luigi looked down and Mario gloated. Peach walked in to the room, angrily.
"Are you not taking this threat seriously?" She said.
"I seriously feel like you're angry at me." He replied.
"Yeah! No shit I'm angry. There's a possible invasion happening and you're not even helping us formulate a plan to steal the Portal Gun from that evil king!" Peach angrily spewed. Mario looked at her and put his hand on her shoulder.
"Listen… I am taking it seriously, alright? I'm using chess to… make better… moves?" He tried to lie to her. He looked over at Luigi and put a thumbs up. Luigi facepalmed.
"Ever since you've become "The Hero", you've been a complete cocky jerk." Peach said as she walked out of Mario's arms. "Now get your shit together." She slammed the door to the throne room behind her.
"She's right, you know." Luigi said. Mario angrily turned towards his brother. "You've changed a lot, bro." Mario started laughing.
"Well, fame will do that to ya little bro." Mario said jeerily. "She'll come around." Toadsworth suddenly busted through the door. Mario and Luigi looked at him, he was clearly out of breath.
"Master Mario! Master Luigi! It's New Donk City! It's under attack!" Mario looked at Luigi and nodded his head. Luigi gave Mario a super feather and Mario took flight. He flew on top of the castle and then flew towards New Donk City, behind it. As he flew away from the top of the castle, a Green Dinosaur slept. He woke up to the sound of Mario taking off. The dinosaur looked up and began to follow the Plumber.
New Donk City was getting trashed. Stores were getting bombed, cars were getting flipped and people were getting injured. Mario saw this from a distance and landed right in the center of Donk Square. He looked forward and saw Tryclyde, shooting fireballs out of his mouth onto cars. Mario shouted "On behalf of the people of New Donk City, I think we all want you to use a breathmint!" Tryclyde turned and saw Mario. He smiled.
"The heroic plumber… What a surprise…" Tryclyde shot fire at Mario. Mario used his cape to reflect it. It hit a billboard. Tryclyde then jumped at Mario. Mario flew up and dodged the attack. He flew and threw Tryclyde against a building. Tryclyde bit Mario on the shoulder, making Mario lose his cape. "Let's see you do that move again, plumber." Tryclyde said as Clawgrip and Mouser came to his side.
Mario looked at the group of three and smiled. "Here we go!" He said. Mario conjured a fireball from his hand and shot it at Mouser. Mouser was shot back. He threw another fireball at Clawgrip who was also thrown out of the battle. He then ran at Tryclyde with a fireball in his hand. "Here's a tip, when asked to back down, back down." He threw the fireball at Tryclydes face. It exploded, dealing massive damage. Tryclyde fell to the ground. Mouser and Clawgrip saw this and smiled. They used their portal guns to escape back to Subcon. Tryclyde watched as his friends left him and smiled.
Mario stepped on the fallen snake's body. Tryclyde winced out and then began to laugh. Mario asked him what he was laughing at. He began to respond. "Look around… Look at the city… You were too late…" Mario looked around and saw that Donk Square was in shambles. Tryclyde bit Mario's leg and Mario fell to the ground. Tryclyde got on top of him. The people watching screamed out. "Goodbye… Hero." Tryclyde readied a fireball and Mario covered his face. Suddenly, a gunshot was heard and Tryclyde fell off of Mario.
Mario got up and watched as Tryclyde bled out, smiling. Mario looked to the side and saw a man with short hair in a sneaking suit. "Snake?" Mario said. Snake smiled and nodded. The words of Tryclyde echoed in Mario's head. In this moment, he kept thinking "What if I'm not good enough?"
The people dispersed. Snake walked up to Mario and put his hand on his shoulder. "Come on." Snake said. "You and me are gonna get a drink." Mario followed Snake in to a café.
Mouser and Clawgrip returned to Subcon. Wart sat in his seat. "Where's Tryclyde?" Wart asked.
"He gave his life for the operation…" Clawgrip explained. Wart looked down. Sad that his comrade passed on. "The people of New Donk City seemed to have lost faith in their hero… We have Tryclyde to thank for that."
"Then it's time to begin phase 2 of the mission." Wart said. Mouser and Clawgrip looked at each other and smiled.
ACT II
Mario sat in a diner with Snake. "I already told you." Mario said. "I got the big guy on board already. Why are you here? Don't you have someone else to recruit?"
Snake smiled and took a sip of coffee. "A thank you would be nice." Snake explained. Mario rolled his eyes. The woman working at the diner gave the check to Snake. She looked at Mario with worriness in her eyes. Mario angrily looked back. The waitress walked away. "Seems like the people lost faith in "the hero" after that one, huh?" Mario took a bite out of his donut.
"I don't know what to do about this whole Subcon thing, Snake." Mario said. "It's been so long since there's been a problem and I don't know what to do with a problem this big."
Snake laughed. "Do you want a hint?" Mario reluctantly nodded. "Stop relying on ONLY yourself." Mario looked down. Snake put his coffee down and folded his hands together. "Remember when I said "You think you're the only hero around?" About a year ago?" Snake recalled. Mario nodded. "I never knew you actually believed that." Snake took another sip of coffee
Mario put his donut down and slammed the table. "So what do you want me to do, Snake?!" Everyone in the diner got silent. "I AM the only hero! Nobody else is known around here and it SUCKS! I have no one to work with." Snake put his coffee down and silently began to leave.
"Maybe you're not a good fit for the team." Snake said as he put on his jacket. "I came here, hoping to see progress but it seems like all you can think about is how tortured you are and how hard it is to be the 'only' hero." Snake began to walk out. "A true hero takes the help of those closest to him." Snake exited the diner.
Mario sat there with his head in his hands. He looked on the table. "Great." He said. "He still left me with the bill."
Two days later at the castle, Princess Peach, Luigi, Toadsworth, and began preparing a plan for how to stop the invasion. "I have an idea." Professor said. Luigi looked over at him. "How about we start heading there now to plan out a route. After we get a route, we can set the Portal Gun coordinates to that location. Then, we can teleport there whenever." Peach, Luigi, and Toadsworth all smiled at that idea. They commended for thinking of it. Suddenly, the doors to the castle busted open. Peach looked over and saw Mario in the doorway. The people were silent.
Mario looked at them. "I take it you saw the news." He said. "Yup. Some hero I am, right?" He walked over to the table.
Peach looked away from him. "You went two days without contacting any of us." She said.
"So I take it… No "Hello Mario" kiss?" Mario replied scratching the back of his head.
"We thought you were dead, bro." Luigi said back to him.
"Toadsworth." Peach said.
"Yes, princess?" He replied.
"Please escort Mario out of the castle and take away the Badge of the Hero."
"Of course, Princess."
Mario looked at them, shocked. He looked down and began laughing. "Fine. No need." Mario took off the badge of the Hero and gave it to Toadsworth. "Kicked out for no reason." He began to walk out of the castle.
Peach looked over at him with tears in her eyes. "No reason?!" She screamed out. Mario turned around.
"Just because of what Tryclyde said… That's why you're kicking me out, I'm assuming?" Mario snapped back.
"No!" Peach screamed. "You've become a selfish, cocky, asshole! The only thing you care about is being hailed as a hero. Not saving the public! But all of that could've been forgiven if you JUST WOULD'VE CONTACTED US OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS!" She looked down and recollected herself. Luigi looked frightened. "A real hero would've at least let the people know he was okay and not mourned over his lost confidence. Get out."
Mario turned back around and walked away. He exited the castle doors and started to walk home. On his way home he felt the presence of someone following him. He closed his eyes, conjured a fireball, and shot it behind him. The Dinosaur following him went into an egg. Mario's eyes widened. "Yoshi!?" He said.
The dinosaur came out of the egg. "Hey pal." He said. "It's been awhile." The pair began to walk on the road to Mario's house. Mario told him everything that happened up until that point. Yoshi listened closely. "I see… Well I can't blame them." He said. Mario looked shocked. "What? You did put your problems before the general public. That's not very—Heroic."
Mario took a seat on the side of the road. "I know." He said. "I'm an idiot. I should've contacted them before hand—I should never have even stayed away for that long. The city sucks, anyway." Yoshi laughed.
Yoshi looked at his friend. "I know that times are tough right now, but I think I know of a way that you can redeem yourself and get revenge on those Subcon creatures." Mario's eyes widened.
"You do?"
"Yes." Yoshi replied. He stood up. "Meet me here tomorrow morning. I'll be waiting." Yoshi shook Mario's hand and walked away. Mario watched as his friend walked down the path. Mario stood up and walked to his home. When he entered, he saw Luigi sitting at the table having dinner.
Luigi looked at his brother and then looked down. Mario kept looking at his brother. "Well… If it isn't the traitor." He walked to the back of the room and sat on the couch. Luigi ignored him. He looked and saw the Badge of the Hero on Luigi's overalls. "So… Your plan was always to overthrow me and become the hero?" Mario said.
Luigi put his bowl of Pasta down and looked at his brother. "Of course it wasn't, bro." Luigi said. Mario stood up. Luigi did as well.
"The hero life… You'll see what a burden it is… Oh what am I talking about. You couldn't be a hero if you tried. Coward." Mario said while looking at his brother.
"I… Am… Not… A… Coward!" Luigi screamed as he jumped at his brother. The two brothers began fighting in their house. Luigi punched Mario. Mario shot a fireball at his brother, barely missing him. Luigi grabbed an invention that Professor got him. "Want a taste of this!?" Luigi said. Mario began to back up. "They call it the Poltergust 3000! Perfect for hurting people who hurt you!" Luigi began to use the Vaccum, sucking Mario towards him. Mario was sucked into the Poltergust. "Now… Get out of my house!" Luigi turned the Vaccum onto "Push". Mario was shot out of the house and into the dirt outside. Luigi walked outside to his brother. "You never deserved this badge! And you never deserved her!" Mario looked up and looked back at his brother. Luigi slammed the door on him. Mario got up and walked away.
The next day, Mario met up with Yoshi on the street. He had a blackeye. "Woah… Rough night?" Yoshi asked.
"Yeah. My brother beat my ass." Yoshi began laughing.
"That coward beat you up?" Yoshi asked. "I find that very hard to believe."
Mario looked down. "Well it happened."
"Luigi would never hurt anyone unless he was pushed over the edge. Only someone close to him could possibly know what triggers him to get pushed over the edge." Yoshi replied. Mario continued to look down. "So you let him beat you up so he can have confidence…" Yoshi concluded.
Mario looked at Yoshi. "Yeah, well a hero needs to have faith in himself… Now he has that." Mario responded. Yoshi patted Mario on the shoulder.
"Come with me." Yoshi said. He bent down. Mario hopped on Yoshi and Yoshi began running towards a clearing in on the path. He arrived at a little lake with nothing but water and a few rocks. Mario hopped off of Yoshi. Yoshi smiled. "Alright boss, I got him!"
Snake suddenly walked out of the woods and out to the lake. "There he is." Mario rolled his eyes and looked at Yoshi. Yoshi was still smiling.
"Didn't know you recruited Yoshi." Mario said. Snake smiled.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me, Mario." Snake replied. Mario looked at Snake and shook his hand. "So… I think I have a plan on how we can infiltrate Subcon." Mario's eyes widened.
"With just us?" Mario asked.
"Yup." Snake replied. "Just us." He took out a portal gun. "I recently did some snooping around in Subcon and was able to make an entrance into Wart's Castle. Care to come along with Yoshi and I?"
Yoshi walked over to Snake. Mario shook his head. "I feel like two parts of my life are crossing over right now." Snake and Yoshi laughed. "Screw it! Let's go!" Snake shot a portal. Mario hopped in, then Yoshi, then Snake. They flew through a green portal and landed at the Base of Wart's castle. "Arceus, this thing is HUGE!" Mario said as he looked up at the Castle.
Snake patted Mario on the shoulder. "This definitely outweighs Bowser's castle." Snake said. The three heroes walked inside of Wart's Castle and immediately took cover. They saw Mouser and Clawgrip talking to one another.
Mouser got closer to Clawgrip. "Do you think the Boss has the army ready to invade?" He asked.
"He better. Or else Tryclyde lost his life for nothing." Clawgrip replied.
"Our target is Princess Peach's castle, is that correct?" Mouser said. "It'll make the public think that she unleashed the Subcon Army… They'll lose faith in her like they lost faith in their hero!" Snake, Mario, and Yoshi all looked at each other. "That'll all happen tonight… When our King takes the throne!"
Snake motioned for them to exit Wart's castle. Mario and Yoshi followed him. They got out of Wart's castle and discussed. "So it seems like they plan on opening a Portal in Peach's castle tonight…"
"We have to go and warn her—" Mario said.
Yoshi interrupted him. "No." Yoshi replied. "You go and warn them. Snake and I will focus on trying to evacuate the people of Castle Town." Mario smiled and thanked them. Snake shot a portal gun down and the three heroes jumped through it.
Mouser looked outside the castle and caught wind of this. "What the…" Mouser said. He ran outside with Clawgrip and they saw the portal close. "Son of a bitch… They know our plan! We have to start it now! Let's get King Wart!"
Mario, Yoshi and Snake all escaped from the Portal and returned to the Lake. "Go be a hero." Snake said to Mario.
Mario shook Snake's hand. "Thanks for helping me. You guys are true friends." Mario said. He hugged Yoshi and ran off towards the Princess's castle.
At the castle, Peach, Toadsworth, Luigi, and Professor were all standing together. "So… We go into Subcon… Find a route… And get out…" Peach said.
"Precisely." replied. The group of four all looked at each other and nodded. Peach walked over to her dresser and found a picture of her and Mario. She looked at it and frowned.
Luigi walked up behind her. "You know… He really does like you." He said.
Peach put the picture back into her dresser. "I like him too, Luigi. He's just very misguided right now… It's like, the Mario I loved doesn't exist anymore."
Luigi looked up. "Did you say 'loved?'" He smiled.
Peach started blushing. "I never said loved! Stop!" She said defensively. "We need to get ready!" She walked away from the dresser and back to . Luigi smiled. He looked at his badge and reached into his pocket. It was a picture of him and his brother. He let out a sad sigh and walked back towards the group.
"Everyone ready?" said. All of them nodded. "You too, Luigi?"
Luigi nodded. "Oh yeah… I can do anything…" Luigi said as he smiled. He equipped his Poltergust 3000 and was prepared to jump in the portal.
"Three… Two… One…-" Suddenly, was cut off by the castle doors opening. Mario busted in.
Everyone looked at him in shock. Mario ran over to Luigi and gave him a hug. He whispered in his ear "We have trouble. Get everyone out of here now."
Luigi whispered back to his brother. "Mario. Now is not the time for another fight." Mario pulled away from his brother and looked at him.
"No." Mario said. "The Subcon Army has a portal linked to your castle, Princess. They get in here, It's all over."
Peach gasped. Toadsworth and Professor were taken a back. Peach looks down and then angrily looks at Mario. "And why should we trust you?" She said.
"Because I went to Subcon! I heard Mouser and Clawgrip formulating the plan and they plan on attacking tonight!" Peach looked down. "Look, I'm sorry that I've been acting like a cocky, arrogant, asshole. I was wrong to do that and I promise I'll never do that again… I'm sorry for calling you a coward." Mario said as he looked at Luigi. Luigi smiled. "And most of all… I'm sorry to you…" He looked at Peach. She looked at him. "I never should have treated you that bad. I promise that I'll never put my feelings of hopelessness over the good of the Kingdom." She smiled and began to walk towards him.
"Mario…. I…" She said as she walked over to him. He grabbed her hands.
"Save it…" Mario said. "We need to focus on beating the Subcon Army. Any suggestions?"
thought for a second and then looked excited. "If we destroy all of the Portal Guns, we should be able to shut down Subcon for good!"
Everyone looked puzzled. "What do you mean?" Peach asked.
"If we could somehow get our hands on the Subcon portal guns from their world and destroy them, their world will cease to exist in that dimension!" began to explain. "When their world was first transported years ago, it lost a lot of matter. That matter went into the form of a Three Portal Guns. (Very different from the one I have. I built this one and one other one for science!) Anyway, if we destroy these Three ORIGINAL Portal guns, the matter will disappear, meaning that the dimension would not be able to hold Subcon, tearing itself apart!" Finished.
All of a sudden, A portal opened above them and Mouser and Clawgrip came out of it.
Peach was knocked back and fell unconscious. Mario was knocked back but landed on his feet. Luigi angrily looked at the duo and readied his vacuum. "Sorry. Are we too early!?" Mouser said as he looked at Mario. Mouser hopped on Clawgrip who ran out of the castle. Suddenly, one hundred Subcon Shyguy's fell out of the portal holding spears. They followed their commanders out of the castle. Mouser and Clawgrip stood outside with their army behind them. "CITIZENS OF THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM! I HOPE YOU'RE READY TO SEE YOUR NEW RULERS!" Mouser shouted.
ACT III
Mario went over to Peach and helped her up. She looked up at him in his arms. Professor called out. "Mario!" He said. "Take this!" He tossed a water-gun like object into Mario's hands.
"What is this?" Mario asked. "Some type of Cleaning device?"
"It's called F.L.U.D.D.!" replied. "It can shoot water at insanely high pressures hurting your foes! I made it for you!"
Mario smiled at and thanked him. "Pleased to meet you." The device said in a robotic tone. "I am FLUDD. Water Weapon Supreme."
Toadsworth then walked over to Mario "You go!" Toadsworth said. "I'll watch over the Princess." Mario gave the Princess to Toadsworth and began to run out of the castle.
He made it to the castle doors and was stopped by his brother. Luigi put his hand on Mario's shoulder. "Need some help?" He said as he readied the Poltergust 3000. Mario smiled.
He put FLUDD on his back and looked at his brother. "I wouldn't have it any other way." Mario said as he opened the castle doors and began shooting water at all of the Shyguy.
Meanwhile, Yoshi and Snake saw as the army began invading the Town. "GO GO GO!" Snake shouted to the villagers of Castle Town. Yoshi took a bunch of them on his back and ran out. As he was running, Clawgrip blocked his path. Snake jumped in front of Yoshi with a bazooka. "I'll handle this. Get the villagers to safety!" Snake shouted. Yoshi nodded and ran off with some Toads. Snake shot a rocket at Clawgrip who blocked it with his pincer.
Clawgrip grimaced. "Solid Snake… The most dangerous man in the world… You'll be fun to make an example of."
"Yeah… If you're able to touch me, that is." Snake said as he fired four more rounds into Clawgrips pincer.
Back at the castle, Wart finally came through the Portal. Toadsworth, , and the Princess all hid behind the throne. Wart walked out of the castle with his portal gun. "At long last… A new world shall be mine."
At the same time, Mario and Luigi were fighting the Shyguy Army back to back. Mario looked to the left and saw Wart. Luigi looked to the right and saw Mouser. "I'll take the Mouse… You take the big guy!" Luigi said. Mario nodded and ran off towards Wart. "Wait!" Luigi said. He took of his badge and threw it to Mario. "I want you to have this back!"
Mario caught the badge and looked at it. He grabbed it and began to melt it. "We don't need this to define us bro. We're heroes!" He said as he saluted Luigi. He ran towards the castle. Luigi smiled and was then immediately punched by Mouser.
"So… You're the plumbers Brother… A coward…" Mouser said.
Luigi got up and looked at Mouser angrily. "I… Am… Not… A… COWARD!" Luigi said. He turned the Poltergust 3000 onto Suck mode once again. Mouser threw a bomb but Luigi sucked it up. He turned the vacuum onto Push Mode and shot the bomb back at Mouser. Mouser caught the bomb.
"Uh oh." The mouse said right before it exploded in his palm, killing him.
Luigi looked at what happened and smiled. He then immediately threw up.
Snake continued fighting against Clawgrip. Clawgrip knocked Snake down and grabbed him with one pincer. He held his other pincer at his eye. "Any last words, Solid Snake?" Clawgrip asked.
Snake winced and then smiled at Clawgrip. "Actually, yeah." He said. "How do you like eggs?" Clawgrip put his pincer down and looked confused. He then turned around and saw Yoshi's tongue wrap around his body. Yoshi grabbed Clawgrip and ate him. He then pooped out an egg.
"They're filled with protein!" Yoshi said. Snake smiled and the two of them high fived.
Mario walked up to King Wart. Wart looked down at Mario. "So… You're the false hero. Am I correct?" Wart said.
"Eh. Hero… false hero… either of those titles are cool." Mario replied. Wart laughed.
"You're a funny one… Too bad I have to kill you." Wart reached out towards Mario. Mario backflipped and jumped on to Wart's hand. He ran towards Wart's face and punched it.
Mario landed back on the ground. Wart reached into his Cape and pulled out three bombs. He threw them and Mario. Mario dodged all of them. "Alright FLUDD, NOW!" Mario shouted. FLUDD's nozzle turned into a hover nozzle and shot Mario in the air with water. Mario then jumped behind Wart and grabbed his Portal gun.
Luigi walked up to Mouser's dead body and found his Portal gun while Snake walked up to Clawgrip's and found his. "ALRIGHT EVERYONE! DESTROY THEM!" Mario shouted. Luigi broke Mouser's portal gun. Snake shot Clawgrip's, and Mario slammed Wart's portal gun into the ground. All of a sudden, the Subcon army fell to the ground, lifeless.
Wart looked at Mario. "No… YOU CANT DO THIS! I AM TO RULE THIS WORLD!" Wart started disintegrating.
"Yeah… Nah… We're good!" Mario said as Wart faded away. Snake and Yoshi walked up to Mario and patted him on the back.
"Seems like you really are a hero, huh?" Snake said.
"Yeah… That reminds me, I'll need a formal apology for all the mean stuff you said about me in the diner." Mario replied. Snake laughed.
Luigi walked over to his brother and hugged him. "It's always good to fight with you, bro. Not against you." Mario agreed and smiled.
He then looked over towards the castle and saw Toadsworth assisting Peach out of it. Luigi, Snake, and Yoshi all looked at Mario. Mario looked at them. "Go bro." Luigi said. Mario smiled and ran towards Peach. She began to walk towards him. She walked into his arms and the pair kissed.
Mario pulled out of the kiss "Am I off the hook for that whole fiasco a few days ago?"
"Oh definitely not." Peach said, smiling. They kissed again. The people of the Mushroom Kingdom began clapping. Mario and Peach waved to the people while standing in front of the castle.
TWO DAYS LATER
Mario is sitting in a room with Yoshi inside of a facility in New Donk City. "So… Will he let me rejoin the Smash Brothers?" Mario asked.
"Eh. Probably." Yoshi said as Snake walked back into the room.
Snake looked at Mario and grilled him for a few minutes. He just stared into his eyes. Mario started to get a bit uncomfortable. Snake finally began to speak. "Welcome back, Hero." He reached his hand out and shook Mario's hand. Mario excitedly shook Snakes hand. He waved at Yoshi and began to exit the facility.
"Hey quick question." Mario said. "Luigi and I are being honored by the Nintendo Powers as heroes. Can you arrange something for me?" Snake looked at Mario confused and then smiled.
"It is with honor that I… Bowser Koopa… Will present the Mario Brothers with the Hero of the Powers Badge…" Bowser turned around angrily and looked at Mario. "Here you go, Mario." He reluctantly continued "You…deserve this." He pinned the badge on Mario's overalls. He then walked over to Luigi. "Here you go Luigi. You deserve this." He pinned the badge on Luigi's overalls. Bowser then put his arms around the two plumbers and took a picture with them. Mario and Luigi have their thumbs up while Bowser looks annoyed.

-POST CREDITS SCENE-
Mario and Peach are sitting on top of the Castle. "You know… Since we're kind of dating… I was thinking about some cool changes we can have to this castle." Mario said.
Peach looked at him. "Oh yeah?" She laughed "Like what?"
"Well… For one, we can have a moat filled with Lava so that any intruder will be burned alive!" Mario and Peach began laughing. They then looked up in the sky and saw a shooting star.
"Oh! Look at that!" Peach said. "Make a wish!" She closed her eyes.
Mario began speaking. "I wish… For a moat filled with lava!" She began laughing. He looked at her and smiled and then closed his eyes. All of a sudden, they heard a giant crash as the star flew into the ground very, very far away.
"What the hell was that!?" Peach asked. Mario stood up.
"I don't know… But I gotta call Snake." Mario said.
Snake is standing right at the crash site talking on the phone. "Yup… I know, Mario… I got him…" The camera zooms in to the crash site. In the crash sight is a Pink Ball sitting on a Warp Star.
