Preface: Hello again! This chapter will mark the end of part two of this story, and it has plenty of action to go around! So let's get right into it!

CHAOS HAVEN II
Previously...after an impromptu trip to Whisker Haven's past, caused by Sonic's guilt over a previous event, left him, Tails, and the Palace Pets stranded, they were forced to call upon their new ally Kirby to get Uncle Chuck's help. Upon returning, however, they discovered that Whisker Haven had been completely overtaken, and when the attempted to infiltrate the fortress that had appeared in the Pawlace's place, Ms. Featherbon mysteriously lost her magic, and the others were captured.
Now...the heroes are magically reawakened as they prepare their next move.

Chapter 5:
Bionic Borstal Burst!

"Ugh...what happened?"
Sonic awoke and sat up, woozily. All he could recollect was the sudden alternate timeline that had been created and storming a metallic fortress before being zapped by some ray.
The others began to wake up around him. "Finally, you've awoken," he heard Ms. Featherbon say, slightly weakly.
"What happened, Ms. Featherbon?" asked Treasure, worried.
Ms. Featherbon rubbed her wing. "Well, when you got zapped from that ray, I oddly felt a small bit of my magic return. You were carried off by some robot that seemed to resemble me, so I snuck into this cell."
"And you used your magic to wake us up?" asked Kirby.
"Indeed," said Ms. Featherbon, "but it caused an unusual amount of pain. Additionally, look at my wing." She showed her wing to the others, and she noticed it seemed transparent.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no!" Tails said, grabbing his face. He turned to the Palace Pets. "You three, start working on a way out! I need to worry!"
"Are you sure?" asked Sultan. As Tails was the first alternate dimension friend he made, he was particularly worried.
"Just go, guys," said Sonic. "I'll handle this." As the pets left to try and break the cell bars somehow, Sonic put his hand on Tails' shoulder. "C'mon, man, we can't just sit here and panic!"
"Why not?" said Tails, panicking. "Thanks to me, Whisker Haven is doomed, Ms. Featherbon's being erased from existence, and we're probably gonna be here forever! This is all my fault!"
Sonic held his head down in shame. "No, man, this is my fault. If I hadn't teased you, we wouldn't have disturbed Mom and I wouldn't have remembered that war that led you to all this." He felt slightly misty-eyed as Tails' panic seemed to be transferred into him. "I never should've grieved, and now here we are and...and…"
"Sonic! Get a grip!" As he said that, Tails punched Sonic in the cheek, hard. In his shock, Sonic stopped. A few tears trickled down his face as he thought back to that first adventure on Westside Island, and how Tails was so doubtful of himself Sonic had to punch Tails to snap him out of it. And now that Sonic was in that situation, as the one who was being punched, it all felt so...ridiculous.
Pumpkin tried cutting the bars, using her tiara as a file, while Treasure and Sultan tried using their claws similarly. Meanwhile, Kirby tended to Ms. Featherbon, who was still ailing. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned around as Sonic suddenly burst out laughing, the tears from his worry coming out simultaneously.
"What the? Are you okay, Sonic?" asked Kirby.
"Yeah...I'm...fine!" Sonic said, struggling to catch his breath. "In fact...I've never...felt better!"
Tails smiled. Sonic was finally letting much of the stress of his guilt go, even if he was acting somewhat out of character. Eventually, Sonic calmed down. "So, you feel better?" the fox asked.
"Well, I know I can't laugh off an entire war," said Sonic, tugging on his ear, "but I think I'm ready to let it go and start looking on the bright side, like I always do."
"No looking back," said Tails, quoting the hedgehog, "'cause who knows what happens tomorrow, right?"
[BGM: End]
Sonic pat the fox on the head. "Yeah, keed." He walked up to the bars. "Now outta the way, pets! Let the pros handle this!" Sonic curled into a Super Sonic Spin Attack and attempted to saw down the bars. Unfortunately, he barely made a dent.
"See?" said Pumpkin. "It's too hard to cut through!"
"You probably don't have enough firepower," said Tails. He grabbed Sonic's hand and performed his own Spin Attack, causing Sonic to perform one as well. They attempted the same thing again, but to no avail.
Kirby had an idea. "Here's something I've been learning recently. I'm still learning, but it could work." The puffball sat down and closed his eyes. He thought of waving a checkered flag before a wheel landed on his head and turned into a backwards red baseball cap. The cap appeared on his head as it appeared in his dream.
He was now Wheel Kirby!
"Woah! Is that some sort of copy-meditation?" asked Tails.
"In a way," said Kirby. "Now let's try this one more time!" This time, Kirby bent down and rolled into a tire before joining Sonic and Tails in the Rolling Combo. And yet, there was still nothing.
"Um, mind if I interject?" asked Ms. Featherbon, even more weakly. "I believe I'm being erased from existence, like what I heard Tails say?" Sure enough, more of her was transparent.
"Oh, dear!" said Pumpkin. "We have to tend to her!"
"Okay, then," said Sonic. "If 'gotta go fast' is the prescription Dr. Brown ordered, then it looks like it's time...for an attempt montage!

And so, using Kirby's suddenly-revealed copy-meditation, several attempts followed. First, Kirby used the Beam ability to electrify Sonic with his wand, but the electricity simply traveled through the bars unscatched. Then, Kirby acquired the Bomb ability, and he and Tails took turns tossing bombs at the bars. Still nothing. Kirby then tried the Mike ability, and everyone covered their ears as he used his tone-deaf voice to shatter the bars. Zilch. Then he tried using the Fire ability's fire breath to melt the bars. They actually seemed more polished. This gag went on for so long, Kirby actually went back to where the group started and used Cutter boomerangs as files.
"Okay, that's it," he finally said as he dropped the Cutter ability. "No more Mr. Nice Puff!" He sat down and closed his eyes, before thinking of strands of energy forming together into a ball, which were then covered in a dome-like crown that then appeared on his head, as his skin turned amber and his cheek puffs turned orange.
He was now Crash Kirby!
"Wait, is that the super-destructive ability from last time?" asked Sonic in shock.
"Yep," said Kirby. "If this doesn't work, I don't know what will!"
Everyone stood back as the puffball focused. The ball of energy in his dome-crown grew bigger and bigger before bursting out, causing a huge explosion of destruction...that still didn't destroy the bars.

"Are you kidding me?" cried out Sultan, in anger. He charged at the bars, roaring, and the amount of weakening from the Crash explosion became apparent as he passed through them without trouble. That triggered the alarm.
"Okay, no questions about why that happened!" said Ms. Featherbon, slightly struggling to fly. "We must flee before we're caught!"

Figuring his transport had been recharged, Kirby took out his cell phone and spoke "Come, Warp Star!" into it. His recharged Warp Star appeared after a few seconds.
"Okay, everyone on!" shouted Tails. The whole group hopped onto the Warp Star, and it began to fly towards the east just as an entire troop of SWATBots appeared to find the escapees.
Sonic sighed. "Boy, the closer we are to getting caught, the more exciting it is!" Everyone gave him a dirty look. "But this is better than me carrying everyone, right?"
"I do feel a little better, though," said Ms. Featherbon. "I don't feel anything coming back, but I don't feel any worse."
"Well, that's a good sign," said Treasure.

Just then, another green ray latched onto the Warp Star. The others were somehow unaffected, but they were still pulled alongside the star. And when they saw who had the ray, everyone's jaw dropped.
"Metal Sonic?!" said Sonic. Sure enough, his robotic copy was there, but taller, with sharper quills, and wearing a large black cloak.
"I should have expected this," said Metal. "I already took your DeLorean time machine to help my past self conquer Whisker Haven last month. And when Master was killed by the small resisting forces, I took over in his place. And yet, you still don't know when to quit, a trait we both share."
"Alright, Metal, enough chit-chat," said Tails. "What do you have up your sleeve? Who's gonna take us down?"
"Yourselves."
Sure enough, a batch of robots that seemed to resemble all of them but Kirby suddenly appeared. The robotic Ms. Featherbon aimed its wing at the others, and they were all zapped by the similar green ray, causing their metallic light implants to glow green.
"You roboticized us," said Sonic. "Why am I not surprised?"
"Stay here and rest, Ms. Featherbon," said Pumpkin. "We'll handle this."
The heroes charged at their metallic counterparts and attempted to attack. Their attempts proved futile, however, as the robots started moving incredibly fast, too fast to land a hit.
"Whoa!" cried Kirby, launching into the air. He began being thrown around by the robots alongside the others.
At that moment, Ms. Featherbon realized something. From the energies she felt emanating from the robots, she figured out what happened to her magic. It was sucked out of her, and put into these robots. She had to take a big risk.
"Leave them alone, you monstrosities!" she cried, flying off of the Warp Star. She began firing her magic at the robots. The added magic she was shooting disabled the magic in the robots, causing the robots to freeze.
"What? No!" cried Metal Sonic. Because he had a magic ray inside of himself as well, he was also frozen.
As the heroes dropped to the floor, so did Ms. Featherbon, in tremendous pain. "That was incredibly brave, Ms. Featherbon," said Pumpkin.
"I'll...be okay," said the hummingbird, fading more and more out of existence.

At that moment, more factions of SWATBots began appearing from the walls, ready to attack. "Okay, guys! I'm gonna try something else!" cried Kirby. Using whatever energy he had remaining in him following the Jamba Heart incident, he created a large heart out of nowhere and tossed it onto the Warp Star, giving it wings and additional stars that served as seats.
"Well, that's new, too," said Tails.
"No time!" said Kirby. "Everyone on."
Sultan grabbed Ms. Featherbon and joined the others on the transformed Warp Star. Kirby sat at the front and began flying it through the fortress, shooting stars at whatever SWATBot he encountered.
Just then, the metallic heroes and Metal Sonic returned, flying in front of the heroes. "Thought you could escape so easily?" said the robot. "Roboticized victims, get them!"
The roboticized Sonic curled into a Super Sonic Spin Attack with electrical shocks, Tails took out a mirror that could reflect any attack, Treasure prepared to shoot liquid, Pumpkin began twirling, Sultan protruded sharp claws, and Ms. Featherbon prepared magic flamethrowers. As they aimed at their organic counterparts, Kirby began shooting stars at all of them before they made contact, including the reflective mirror. They all left behind floating Copy Ability hats, including a red and yellow jester's hat, a two-pointed blue and purple hat, a small block of water as a crown, a tornado-like crown, a green floppy hat, and a flame-like crown, respectively.
Hmm, this is my third idea in the whole chapter! thought Kirby. I'm on a roll! He placed his hands on his star and moved them in a spread-out motion, causing the stars to split and move the passengers under the hats that their robotzicied counterparts dropped. The hats landed on them, turning Kirby into Fire Kirby and giving the others similar abilities to when Kirby would receive them.
"I don't care where those hats came from," said Metal, "it's foolish to think that they will help!" He began shooting his contained magic as lasers.
"Everyone! Shoot at him!" cried Kirby.
"Can we do that shooting ability you were doing, too?" asked Pumpkin.
"Yeah! Now do it!" cried Kirby.
Everyone began shooting back at Metal Sonic. Sonic's electrical stars stunned Metal, Tails' reflective stars sent the lasers back in his direction, Pumpkin's windy stars blew the robot into the wall, allowing Sultan to send incredibly sharp stars his way, Treasure splashed Metal with her watery stars, and Kirby's fiery stars were the final blow to Metal, sending him falling to the ground.
"Well, that was a lot more anti-climactic than I anticipated," said Kirby.
Just then, as a failsafe if Metal were defeated, the entire fortress began to self-destruct. "Well, we probably wouldn't have time to be fancy anyway!" said Sonic. "And I bet Ms. Featherbon's getting worse! Let's juice!"
And so, the heroes began to race out of the self-destructing fortress on the stars, eventually crashing through its outer wall, and set their course for Uncle Chuck.
Ms. Featherbon weakly opened her eyes from her rest and noticed the fortress deteriorating. Don't worry, she thought, you'll be fixed soon.
End of part two...next time: back to the first story!
Next chapter: Good future obtained! The conclusion of the story ramps up as the heroes head back to the events of the original Chaos Haven to stop Metal Sonic's plans once and for all! But does the robotic faker have more tricks up his sleeve? All you have to know is one little sound effect: "BADADAHBADAdahBAdadhbadadah..."
Postface: Part two complete! Too be honest, I feel like I could've written the end of this chapter better - I was kinda done for the day when I wrote this one.
Trivia time! I originally named this chapter "Furries Running Down a Hill," which is a reference to something I honestly can't even remember anymore, which is why I changed it. Another Kirby: Right Back at Ya! influence: the way Kirby summons his Warp Star is a combo of the way Tiff summoned it in the anime and at the end of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. Metal Sonic's alternate future look is mostly lifted from the design of Neo Metal Sonic from Sonic Heroes - and we find out what he was using Ms. Featherbon's magic for! BTW, the fact that she was drained is why she feels pain using magic and is fading out first. It'll be quickly explored later on! Lastly, at the end, Kirby is shown using his Friend Heart ability from Kirby Star Allies to turn the Warp Star into a form based on the Friend Star from the same game - I had most of the characters gain the 'main' elemental abilities from that game as a result, with Sonic and Tails being exceptions - they received the Beam and Mirror abilities in reference to power-ups in the fangame Sonic: After the Sequel (if you're reading this, LakeFeperd, you're welcome!).
