This scenario was in my head for a pretty long time. I kept imagining such a moment between my OTP Sokkla. And with this week's theme for Sokkla Saturday, I had the perfect opportunity to try writing this scene. I really hope you can imagine it as good as I do. Some good Songs are in the background while this moment happens.
She was standing there. On top of the hill of the village. Looking with tears in her eyes, he could see it. Her hair waved in the wind.
How he missed her.
I t felt like the world around him stood still. His body and mind completely stopped with everything. She was everything. His eyes only saw her, and his mind only registered her. Nothing else mattered. Tears were forming in his eyes while his mind and world completely focused on her presence right now. As it had been the first time he saw her. And the moment they had to part ways.
He finally found her. He could finally see her. Even when he was standing far away.
How he missed looking at her.
He couldn't take standing there any longer. He started running. Recklessly and as fast as he could. His destination the hill she was standing on.
She was standing on a higher level on top of the village. On a small hill.
Looking at him from distance. He was frozen and tears were forming in his eyes as well, she could feel it.
Finally she met him. But the distance was an obstacle right now.
Seeing him after such a long time made her heart ache. It felt warm, exciting, yet so painful at the same time. His eyes were set on hers. Just like hers were set on his eyes and his figure. Her tears already dropping from her eyes.
All she wanted right now, was to run into his arms and never leave them again. Safe and warm. She turned around to run down to him just as he started running towards her. Her hair waving from the wind. She started walking down the hill and turned around into the village. Speeding up to reach him while crying.
He remembered that heartbreaking and horrible moment very good. How is heart ached at that. He remembered exactly how she ran to him, trying to reach for his hand. He had tried to reach for hers too, but he was powerless back in that moment.
That look on her face. The desperateness. Her scream after his name. The way both of her hands reached his hand and held it tightly with all the power she had. And those tears. His world had stopped completely back then. Never could he describe the feeling inside of him. Their hands were torn apart. The world did not allow them to be together. She had grabbed on his hand and he had tried to hold hers as strong as he could. But they were separated cruelly. Only tears and sorrow were there from that moment on.
He never forgot that moment. It haunted him in his sleep. Her desperate face showed up in front of him. Being angry at himself and everyone. They both remembered that moment too well.
It couldn't be described how much and how badly they missed each other. Their scent, their eyes, their voice. Everything.
While running carelessly, they bumped into people. Desperate to find one another, to hug and never let go.
They came closer and closer. With every new step the distance grew smaller. But it was still too big to reach their destination.
Azula was crying and feeling weak in a relieved way while still running. Sokka was crying and running as fast as he could. Feeling more powerful than ever.
And here they were. Finally. They literally bumped into each other. Her arms going around his neck powerfully and his arms around her whole body strongly, lifting her up. She was sobbing while burying her face into his neck. He was breathing heavily while burying his face into her hair.
He was holding her like the world would take her away the moment he weakened his hold. But he would not allow it. Never! He smelled at her hair. Both crying into each other's necks. Azula tried to remember his scent and totally gave in the feeling of him.
No one could tell how long they stood this way. Sokka tried to calm down himself and then her. He wanted to look at her face. One of his hands went to her cheek while their faces were still close.
"Shhh, it´s okay." he said.
"I missed... I missed you Sokka." she whispered in between sobs. Her voice barely hearable.
And this broke his heart even more and he totally lost it.
"I missed you Azula. I love you, I love you!" he replied while crying and trying to smile at her.
They kissed each other's faces and hugged each other strongly again.
Smiling, crying and feeling happy. Their heavy and aching hearts slowly calming down. This time no one could tear them apart. They wouldn't allow it.
Buried into each other's hugs, they stood there to feel each other as long as they could. They finally reunited after such an unbearable long time.
