Since this got longer than I thought and seeing it is an important AU, I decided to post it twice, one separated from my Sokkla Saturday Chapters. Although I wrote it for the Sokkla Saturdays.
There is this scene in Kim Possible - So the Drama. They are in a tree house and Ron says something to Kim. That was always so beautiful to me. It was also a new change to their relationship.
I felt like writing something similar about Sokkla. I used some elements from Kim Possible, but not everything is from it of course. Turned out longer than I thought. I really like it, hope you guys enjoy reading it too. It is not perfect and a little blunt. But the last part is the most important for me. It also became more Sokkla-Centric I guess?
And yes, I watched Brother Bear again=´D
They were friends since their childhood.
The Water Tribe and the Fire Nation worked together in a mostly harmonic way. So did their precious people. The Princess and the Son of the Chief, known as best friends, worked together as a Duo Team.
As time passed by and Azula and Sokka grew, they started solving little problems in the Fire Nation Capital. Sokka has been living there and visited a Fire Nation school. That was when he became best friends with Azula. Their ways never parted since then.
Every time they heard something bad happening in the Capital, they would run for help and solve the Problem.
Did someone lose anything? They would find it.
Did someone get mysterious and dangerous letters? They would put an end to it.
Through their teenage years, the problems they´d solve would grow bigger.
They remembered their first Mission exactly. It was a kitten on a tree. It was scared to jump. Sokka tried to show off his heroic side and tried to climb up to save it but ended up with scars on his face. It was Azula in the end, who helped the kitten.
And their lives went on like that. It felt like they were together the whole time, 24 hours. They were unstoppable and their bond unbreakable.
But times have changed, and they grew older as years past.
The Fire Nation festivals were nearing again, and it was held larger this year.
Everything seemed good.
Until Kenai showed up.
Kenai.
A boy named Kenai showed up out of nowhere.
Both Azula and Sokka, as well as some of their friends were at the preparation place of the festivals to control if everything was faring well.
They were having dinner. Azula was sitting on a table with Toph while Sokka was filling his plate on the buffet.
A handsome guy bumped into him accidentally and apologized right after. They started talking.
"You can come sit with us. I am here with some friends." Sokka told Kenai.
"This is a nice request." Kenai replied.
He turned around to look at the table Sokka showed with his hand at. And he got fascinated. For the most beautiful girl he ever saw was sitting there. Sokka waved with his hand in front of his face.
"Hello. Kenai, everything okay?" he asked.
"Who is THAT?!" Kenai asked him.
Sokka looked at the table and smiled.
"Oh, these are my friends. The one with the hairband is Toph, an earthbender. And the longhaired one is Princess Azula. You couldn´t recognize her?" he said.
"Wow! The Princess is your friend? Is something going on between you two?". Kenai asked Sokka.
"Hehe, no way. We are best friends since we are children." Sokka replied.
"That is great. because she is hot and beautiful."
Sokka's friendly face made a 180° turn.
"Hey! There is no more talk about her like that!" he said angrily and annoyed.
And from that day on, things started changing. Drastically.
Kenai showed clear interest for Azula. But they were not together at the moment. It had been almost two weeks since he entered their life. Some people started celebrating them and made fun of how they matched together. Especially Katara and Toph enjoyed that. Sokka was clearly unpleased by this situation.
From day to day, Sokka was reluctant to join his friends when they met.
For it has only been him and Azula most of the time. Once...
He was sick of seeing Kenai or hearing his name and he always reacted temperamentally at it.
The start of the Festivals arrived and Sokka was preparing for it.
He was standing in front of the mirror. Momo was sitting on his bed.
"Why is this suddenly happening Momo?" he asked while trying to fit in his shirt.
"I mean, she had a crush on Chan once and I even tried to support her back then. Until we found out he was an idiot. What is so different now?"
Sokka never liked another girl. He never had a crush or fell in love. The girls who mattered for him were his sister, Toph and mostly Azula.
He was young and disgusted by the behavior of many people. They called it love with every person they met and jumped into bed with them. No one took anything seriously. He has never been a boy like that and was sure of never becoming a person like that either. When some girls had crushes on him, he was always kind and nervous but that was it.
Azula was not different in matters of relationships. She once had a crush on Chan. But other than that, no one really caught her interest.
"It was always her and me Momo. We were unbreakable best friends. The world was so wonderful that way. And now..." he looked sadly at the bottom.
"Who am I kidding Momo? Something is going on between me and her for a longer time. But we just didn´t really look at it. We were always together "as friends". Even when people sometimes joked about how we would end up getting married one day, we acted like it is disgusting because our friendship was always our top priority."
"I can´t do that Momo. I can´t watch this Idiot called Kenai take her away from me." he said and stopped dressing up.
"Where is Sokka?" Toph asked.
"I have no idea." replied Azula.
Everyone has already gathered. Sokka was still not there. Did he miss the time? Azula wondered and waited a little longer.
"He is acting pretty strange. Did you talk with him?" asked Toph.
They knew something was not right with Sokka. She didn´t really find an opportunity to talk to him. She was busy with the festivals and every time the friends would meet, Sokka would either sit in a corner and sulk or don´t appear. This was the case since Kenai showed up in their lives.
"He was at ´Capital Nacho´ yesterday. They are changing some stuff in the restaurant and as you can imagine, he freaked out." said Toph suddenly.
"He started yelling at the workers there and crying ´I am losing everything that is important to me´."
´Capital Nacho´ was Sokka's favorite restaurant. Him and Azula spent lots of time there. He used to buy her coupons for her birthday from there. She rolled her eyes at them every time.
Azula decided to visit Sokka's house. She knocked on the door, but no one was inside. So she walked into the garden. He was in the tree house they had built years ago.
"Boomerang boy, are you up there?" Azula asked smirking.
"No." Sokka replied.
She rolled her eyes and climbed into the tree house. He was sitting there with his arms crossed.
"Sokka, why are you here? We were waiting for you."
"For me? Why, you guys have Kenai, you can just spend time with him."
Azula got a little angry at that.
"Kenai is Kenai and you are Sokka! I was waiting for YOU!"
"What is going on Sokka? Do you think I don´t notice? Sokka, no one, NO ONE can change my friendship with you."
Sokka sighed and looked at her. He grabbed some Nachos from next to him on the table and gave it Azula.
"You want some?" he asked.
"You eat it here? I heard ´Capital Nacho´ is changing?"
"Yeah, I don´t feel like going there anymore. It lost it´s fun...". It was not truly the change of the restaurant, but the empty feeling of going there without her.
"Everything was so good when we were children." he said.
"Things are still good now as well Sokka. Granted as children you have lots of better things, but that doesn't make it worse now." she replied.
"Remember you had to go to the summer camp?"
"Yeah, bad times." he said.
"See? You had no control. You were attacked by insects, lost your favorite toy and got locked into a room." she said smiling. "It was horrible for you because you were a little child. A bad experience in your life. You had to wait for an adult to save you, now you save the world with me."
Sokka smiled for the first time in a long time. And they looked into each other's eyes.
"You are right. These things were horrible on the camp back then. But do you know what the worst thing was?" he said a little sad, looking into her eyes intently.
"What was it?" asked Azula, not expecting what was about to come.
"Spending a whole summer without you." said Sokka.
Azula´s face expression changed.
Their eyes stood locked into each other's.
Even Momo looked surprised by the way the mood changed.
Azula and Sokka. They would remain by each other's side in all means!
