It was going to be a shit day today . Light knew immediately what was in store for him the second he opened his eyes . There was a deep ache rippling through his bones. A numb , hollow feeling blowing throughout his corpse like he was completely void of everything, save for his heart steadily pounding in his chest louder than it should be .
Light opted to just roll over, tears welling up in his eyes as he dreaded the day ahead. These days were always the worst, when everything would hit him hard and the demons he stored away in the back corners of his mind would come out of their cave to whisper nasty things to him. Then those days were sometimes accompanied by the rampant worried thoughts that flew through his mind at a million kilometers a minute. Light could only assume today was one of those days by his heart beating against his rib cage like it was desperately trying to escape.
Light spent the following few minutes , fading between consciousness and unconsciousness. He'd really planned on not letting his inner thoughts get to him too badly today and just head over to the task force for another long dreadful day of pretending to be someone that he's not . But in reality he just wanted to fade into his bedsheets and let his mind clean itself up so he could be better tomorrow. Apparently though, his Father Soichiro had other plans for him. Light nearly jumped out of his skin when his door slammed open and his Father waltzed in,puffing out a breath of air.
You could tell by the expression on Soichiro's face that he was a bit shocked to see his son still in bed at this time of 8:00AM. Normally Light would get up at least 5 AM on a good day to get to the headquarters early .
'' Light - what are you doing in bed still ? You would normally be ready by now if not with the task force already ''
Light felt a cold shiver down his spine at the sound of his fathers concerned yet stern voice .
'' Sorry .. i guess i just forgot to set my alarm .'' replied Light trying to sound convincing , the truth is , he just didn't care anymore . What was the point of getting up early every single morning to be disturbed by his monstrous thoughts towards food all day and strong urges to carve deep .. deep slits down his wrist well at the same time he puts on a smile trying to solve a case that he already knew the solution too . But if he told anyone the truth he'd be immediately sentenced to death with no hesitation . But that's what he wanted right ?... Light wanted it all to just be over so wouldn't that be a good thing?
'' Oh .. ah- right . '' replied his father obviously a bit discomforted to see his genius of a son so unprepared . '' Anyway , would you like a lift to the headquarters ? I was just about to go anyway but i can spare an extra five minutes to wait for you to get ready if that's okay with you ''
NO ... no ... no no no no no ! Light thought to him self . He has to walk to work today to burn off the extra calories that he consumed yesterday which he stupidly let himself eat. Stupid Ryuzaki and his stupid FUCKING SWEETS . I knew i should have declined the offer , but i wasn't thinking straight , and also it would seem weird if i said no to my Dad when he's trying to do me a favour .
Light could hear Ryuk laughing like a complete maniac in the background . That stupid God of death ! Couldn't the stupid shinigami tell he didn't have time for his foolery ?!
Light let his worries fade away for a moment as he took a deep breath to relieve any stress .
'' I'm good thanks dad , i don't want to make you any later then you already are ! But thanks for the offer '' reassured light . Oh god did he sound to nice ?
Obviously not as Soichiro just replied with a simple '' If you say insist son, then i guess that's fine with me '' and walked out the door .
Light let out a deep sigh and managed pull him self up and out of bed. He nearly collapsed due to the pure exhaustion . But he just had to get the day over with .
'' well light that was a close one ! am i right ? '' yelped the stupid god of death
Close one ? What the hell is he on about now ? light thought to him self. He simply ignored Ryuk and got changed then put his shoes on .
'' Hey light ! i'm talking to you ! '' yelled ryuk as he flied around the room . '' dont ignore me ! ''
Light simply didn't have time for Ryuk's nonsense this morning he just needed to get to the task force .. get to the restroom ... stick his fingers down his throat , and throw up all of the food that was clearly making him f-fat.
Light's unhealthy thoughts got interrupted by ryuk's big mouth '' HELLLOOOOO?! ''
That's it ! Couldn't he just be left alone for ONE MINUTE ? '' WHAT DO YOU WANT RYUK CAN'T YOU TELL I'M JUST TRYING TO GET OUT OF HIS DUMB HOUSE AND GET TO THE TASK FORCE ? '' bawled light in obvious distress .
Ryuk backed up a bit as he got a bit startled from the humans loud shouting . '' oh? ''
Light groaned and walked into the kitchen , grabbed his bag and was about to go off to walk to work with the shinigami following behind him . He was just about to clutch his hands on to the door but his mother stopped him . '' Aren't you going to have some breakfast first , before you go darling ? '' asked Sachiko in a calm soothing tone as she offered light an apple .
'' u-uh '' light stuttered due to the disturbing laugh of the god of death in the background once again. What was his problem ?! '' i've already had some mum , but thanks anyway. '' lied light trying to sound as convincing as possible .
'' but light- i didn't see you get anyth-'' Sachiko was cut off by the closing of the front door from her already well gone son . '' bye then ! '' A young Sayu yelled from the kitchen table . Sachiko let out a small '' mhm '' and shrugged it all off.
'' Light ! you know i could of had that apple if you REALLY didn't want it . ''
Light ignored Ryuk and kept on walking .
Eventually after a 45 minute long walk, he got to the task force building. It's only a 15 minute walk usually , but Light took the long way so he could get more exercise . He was exhausted when he got there . He nearly even fainted trying to walk up the stairs to the floor where he was supposed to be , but he forced him self to do it anyway.
When he entered the room at 9:05 AM everyone stopped their work for a second to turn around and look at Light . Everyone found it a bit strange that he walked in late as he's normally there before everyone else . He was also late yesterday .. It was slowly becoming regular , but everyone shook it off and turned back around to their desks to carry on with the Kira investigation.
Everyone except L .
L could tell something was wrong , Light looked like death . He had dark circles under his eyes which made him look similar to L himself. His hazel brown eyes were dilated . He was also looking rather pale .. not just sickly pale .. he looked DEADLY PALE .
Light was confused why Ryuzaki was staring at him , but he honestly didn't care . It was the least of his worries, so he just walked to his desk . Before the younger boy could even get the chance to think about sitting down onto his chair L grabbed his wrist which made Light gasp a bit but he kept quiet .
'' Why is Light-kun late ? '' asked L in his normal emotionless voice . '' I believe this is the second time now . ''
Light tried to get ryuzaki off his wrist but he was too weak and obviously not in the state to make a scene .
'' Don't try and escape Light-kun . Now answer my question . ''
'' I just woke up late okay ? Now get off me ! '' yelled Light in pure anger
L let go of the young boys small wrist , sighed then turned back to his computer (in his usual crouching position of course .)
10 minutes passed and light hadn't got any work done . All he could think about was getting to the toilet and purging . He didn't want to make anyone suspicious so he just had to tell them he was going to the restroom .. and that was if anyone asked .
Light got up from his chair and walked to the restroom with Ryuk following behind him again .
L would normally think nothing of this , but Light was acting different in general so he signalled for Watari with a simple shake of his head to go to their office and look through the surveillance camera's at light . Watari got up and did as he was told and L followed after him 15 seconds after with out causing any suspicion . Who knew how angry Soichiro would get if they knew they were spying on their son when he went to use the restroom . But it was for the best , right ? They wanted to know what he was doing . It could even higher the percentage of Light being Kira , who knows?
The restroom was empty when Light entered. No one at the urinals or in the stalls . He just thanked his luck and quickly made his way into a stall not taking any notice of the camera above it .
Dropping to his knees in front of the toilet, Light rolled up his sleeves and grimaced at the grim smell of the toilet from near the floor. He ignored the odor and took a deep breath, staring into the toilet bowl for a split second before urgently shoving two of his fingers down his throat, teeth painfully scraping his knuckles. Ryuk was confused yet intresting in what Light was doing so he watched carefully with a chuckle . The first few times Light pressed his fingers down his throat he ended up just gagging , but on the fourth or so try he got something, and the contents of his stomach were violently emptied into the toilet. The god of death watched carefully at the teen hurting himself . He couldn't really understand why Light was doing this to himself or how serious it was ,but yep. Humans are so interesting .
Light pressed deeper , provoking another involuntary jerk of his body as he vomited up more into the toilet. Light decided he was finished after dry heaving a few times when he'd finished actually vomiting. He sat, out of breath and tired, against the bathroom stall for a few moments before getting light headed and fainting causing him to bash his head against the toilet stall knocking him out fully forcefully throwing his light body back against the door to the stall as he fell into unconsciousness . Ryuk was confused at the boys actions , and let out a confused '' ehh ''
it was clear to even the shinigami that he was probably going to be lying their for a while , so he decided to wander off somewhere to cure his boredom .
Meanwhile Watari and L were watching in nothing but shock . Even L didn't expect that to happen when he decided he was going to see if light was doing anything suspicious . None of them could really say anything . They had both seen way worse things in their time , but this- Chief Yagami's son ?!
Quillish eventually broke the silence by getting out of his chair . '' We should probably get the boys Father . ''
'' No need '' replied L
'' Huh- '' Watari said in confusion
'' Go back down to the others , i'll take care of this . ''
Watari did as he was told once again, well L made his way to the restroom to see if Light was okay . To his surprise he saw Light half conscious against the open toilet door .
Light immediately paled as soon as he made eye contact with the detective . He was in a frozen state of shock, staring up at the man while his mouth went dry and his heart sank . From the look on Ryuzaki's face , Light could tell he knew what was happening and either Light was about to come clean or he had to figure out a way to get out of this .
'' You'd think an intelligent boy like you light-kun , would be smart enough to at least close the door to the stall when purging . must be Bulimia . ''
WAIT WHAT ? HE SAW ? light thought to him self . UGH STUPID RYUZAKI ... ALWAYS INVADING PEOPLES PRIVACY . I HATE HIM .
Light scoffed at the detectives ways of putting things . Out of all the things light was, he was not a b-bullimic !
'' you think i'm bullimic Ryuzaki ? '' Light laughed '' And i'm not a ' purger ' either . ''
'' Maybe not Bulimic Light-kun , but you are certainly a young delusional boy with an eating disorder . ''
Lights pov
What the heck ? First of all he's accusing me of being ' bulimic ' and now he's accusing me of having an eating disorder and being delusional ?! I'm not the delusional one here .
Nobodys pov
Even Ryuzaki wasn't 100% sure Light had an eating disorder , it was just a simple guess . But he was trying to get Light to confess to him , and if not he'd had to find out him self . There is a 37% chance it could have just been a stomach bug , but no jumping to conclusions just yet .
Light didn't reply to that , instead he fell into a coughing fit and it resulted him in banging his head against the stall wall even harder from when he had last time. It hadn't let him unconscious this time but it sure did hurt .
'' Come with me Yagami-kun '' insisted L as he reached out for Light's hand to help him up. Light was very very not heavy for his age . ( LMAO I WANTED TO SAY LIGHT BUT UGHSDFG IFYKYK)
L took him to a small room with a sofa and made the teen sit down . Watari was in there too with a tray of cookies . He placed it on the table and walked out of the room leaving Light and L alone .
'' So , would you like to tell me what's going on Light ? '' Asked L as he bit into a cookie.
'' Nothings going on ! Can you PLEASE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE ?! ''
'' hmh .. Would Light-kun care for a cookie? '' asked L
'' No , i'm fine . '' Insisted the younger boy .
'' You know , it's fine to eat just this one time light-kun . '' said L as he reached out for another cookie '' you can always throw it back up later ! ''
'' UGH I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU !'' yelled Light aggressively as he got up to leave , but before he could make his way out the door L whipped out handcuffs and handcuffed them together .
'' WHAT THE FUCK ! GET OFF ME ! '' screamed Light making a fuss .
'' Shhhhh '' whispered L into lights ear trying to calm him down by putting his hand over the younger's mouth . '' Light-kun i suggest you stop fidgeting , unless you want to make this harder for yourself than it is already ? and i don't think you'll want that .
Light fell back on to the sofa in a slouch holding back tears . He had just about had enough but then he saw Ryuk float in to the room .
'' ahh they you are light ! I've been looking for you everywhere ! '' spluttered the shinigami
Light sighed at Ryuk which made him notice that they were handcuffed together .
'' oOoOOo , what is this ? '' asked Ryuk showing interest in why they were cuffed together as he floated next to Light . '' Now this is going to be interesting ! ''
