It was the day after our talk with the mayor, I was really nervous about the monster's nest, but I think I can do it. But my nervousness was nothing compared to Clyde's, he has been walking around the house since he woke up, I'm surprised he managed to made breakfast in that state
"Hey Danny, what if I don't get an adventurer vocation? What are we going to do?" Clyde said
"I'll go to the nest alone, I'll be fine" I hope
"If you go alone, I'll die of anxiety" Clyde continued "I don't want you to get hurt"
"I don't want you to get hurt either, so wait for me" I said
"No, if I don't get one, you'll stay here" Clyde said
"I can't, I'll already promised to the mayor" I stand up and stop Clyde with a hug "I think is time already, let's go"
"Right…" Clyde said
We leave the house and start walking to the church. I didn't see it yesterday, but the town was damaged quite a bit by the earthquake, if the monsters start attacking, without help they won't last very long. We arrive and entered the church, it was completely empty except for an old guy in white clothes
"Good morning, you are Clyde and Daniel, I presume" The old guy said
"Yeah, good morning sir" Clyde said
"Good morning" I said too
"I'm the priest of Angel Fall" The old guy said "I was waiting for you two, the mayor told me your situation and I can help"
So, this is a priest, his clothes look similar to some celestial robes
"Thank you" Clyde said and looked at me "Can you go first Dan? I'm still too nervous"
"Sure" I said and walked to the priest
"You are Daniel, the one who lost sight of his vocation, right?" The priest said "If you allow me, I could tell you your sacred duty once again"
My sacred duty? He is not referring to my duty as a celestial, right? Let's see what happens
"Please sir" I said
The priest told me to kneel down, then he put his hand in the air above my head and a second later white light started envelope me. I got dizzy really quick, but the process was fast
"My child, I have identified your duty. Your vocation is…" The priest said
What's is it? Celestial? Guardian Angel? Mage maybe…?
"… bard. You are a bard young Daniel" The priest said
A bard…?
"You are a bard? That's awesome, that's very rare, congrats Danny" Clyde said "So that means you can play music and sing?"
"What? Play music and sing? I thought I was an adventurer" I said confused
"Oh yeah, you don't know what that is" Clyde said "A bard is a type of adventurer, I'll explain it to you later"
"Ok" I said
"So young Clyde, you'll unlock your vocation, right?" The priest said
"Yes. I'm still very nervous" Clyde said
"Did you bring the donation for the ceremony?" The priest asked
"Yes, I have it" I said and give him the mayor's bag
Is not a donation if you are charging if for it. Clyde kneel down and various glowing magic circles appeared around him
"Now you must pray young Clyde" The priest said
"Y-Yes" Clyde answered "Please an adventurer vocation, please, I want to help him, I want to protect him" Clyde whisper
Clyde's body started glowing and a second later it was done
"Stand up young man" The priest said "Today, your sacred duty has been revealed"
"Yes…" Clyde stand up
"Young Clyde, you are a warrior" The priest said
"YES!" Clyde jumped with joy "Thank you, thanks…"
Clyde jump at me crying happily
"I'm going to guess a warrior is an adventurer" I said
"Yeah, I'm so happy" Clyde said
"Is it rare like mine?" I asked
"Ah… no, is actually the most common type of adventurer" Clyde said
"Oh, sorry" I said
"Don't worry, I'm glad I got it" Clyde said
"Young men" The pries call us "Let me gift you this" The priest gave Clyde a blue book and a purple book to me
"What's this?" Clyde asked
"Is a guide to your vocations. Use it well" The priest said
"Thanks" I said
"Thanks for everything" Clyde said
"You should go now. O Almighty One, watch over and protect these poor children" The priest said
We leave the church and walk over to the river to read our books…
"This have a lot of information" Clyde said "It was a explanation of my vocation, some skills I can learn and the story of some famous warriors"
"Yeah…" I said
"What about yours?" Clyde asked me
"Mmm…"
"Danny?"
"Clyde… I can't read it…" I said
"What? What do you mean?" Clyde said
"I… I don't know how to read…" I said ashamed
"WHAT!?" Clyde yelled surprised "What do you mean? Did the fall messed up your brain that bad?"
What the heck? Some one needs to review the information they give us as we born. How am I missing such a basic ability? They might as well take the ability to walk, because I mean, celestials have wings, we don't need legs… This suck, I must look like such an idiot
"Is ok Dan, you don't have to worry" Clyde said "I can teach you"
"Will you?" I said
"Yeah, leave it to me" Clyde said smiling "Do you want me to read you your book?"
"Please…" I said, I feel so low
"Ok" Clyde said and opened my book "Mmm, ok. It says here that bards are all-round fighters, they are good at close combat and range magic, but their best skills are support and healing magic"
"Mmm I see. What about you?" I asked
"Me? Warriors are physically strong fighters with great defense, but we are slow and can't use any kind of magic, so I'll be counting on you for the heals" Clyde said
"We make a good team" I said "Also what do you mean by 'play music and sing'?"
"Oh, most bards are good musicians and singers, they are algo good dancers, some of their skills revolve around that" Clyde said
"Seriously, I don't think Ill be good at them" I said
"Is given that a bard is good with music, but I don't know" Clyde said
"Either way, we need to get ready to go, got any place where we could get weapons and armor?" I said
"Yeah, the priest said to go to the blacksmith to get our basic gear" Clyde said
"What's a blacksmith?" I asked
"Mmm… I need to teach you about common vocations… I do it later, come on let's go" Clyde said
We went to this 'blacksmith' and he gave us basic armor and copper swords, he also gave Clyde a leather shield and an old lute to me
"So, I scratch these wires and hold them from the top, right?" I asked
"I guess, that's how you play a guitar" Clyde said
"But this is not a guitar" I said
"Whatever, just try it" Clyde said
I softly move my hands across the strings, and I felt like I knew what I was doing, I started playing a song, and I didn't know why. I guess bards instinctively know how to play instruments
"Battle Song" I said as I change the rhythm of my song, and felt slightly stronger
"Wow, did you just boost our attack?" Clyde asked
"I guess…" I said
"Awesome" Clyde said and I stopped, I still felt the effect of the song for a little while "I think we are ready"
"Yeah, I'm nervous" I said
"Together we can do it" Clyde smile at me
"Yes" I smile back
The hexagon is about 2 hours walking from Angel Falls, while traveling there we fought a bunch of cute but deathly monsters, it was nice practice for the real fight. Clyde doesn't have any skills yet, he needs to level up a bit more to unlock some. I have my Battle Song, Ice Shot and Heal. I would think this is unfair, but Clyde has way more stats than me, so I guess is balance
When we reach the hexagon, we thought the place was going to be infested with monsters, but it was actually empty, there were more of them on the way here
"Where the monsters at?" Clyde asked
"I wonder…" I said
In the deeper parts of the ruins we did find monsters, some evil spirits and fire elementals, monsters without a physical form. Our teamwork was going well too, Clyde will fight on his own while I buff and heal him from a safe place, if an enemy tries to run or we fight a flying enemy I beat them with magic
We reach the deepest part of the dungeon, there was no monster here
"I thought the guys from the village confirmed a big monster here" I said
"Shh. Something is coming" Clyde said
We hide behind some fallen walls, we heard a bunch of monsters coming our way, we ready to fight, until we saw them. They were all scared and running away, we wonder what was happening until a giant bull like creature blocked their path and eat them in one bite
"Ok, that's the reason why there are a lot of monsters outside, but not inside" Clyde said
The bull had a tree and grass on his back, he spread a good smell as he walks. He is definitely the reason why monsters are increasing around here. We need to beat him
We start follow him in silence, we need him to down his guard. After a while he reached a big open room, by the looks of it, this is where he rest, this is the perfect place. The bull lay down ready to sleep, we walk around the room to get to a good spot to stab him in his sleep. But suddenly a fire elemental started attacking us, making much noise in the process. The bull woke up and got us in sight
"Damn, we were so close" Clyde said
I shoot the fire elemental killing it in one hit, the bull run trying to tackle us, but we evade at the last moment
"I'll get his attention" Clyde yelled as he slashed the bull face
"Clyde wait, is too dangerous" I said but he didn't listen
I played my Battle Song to help Clyde, but it didn't look like Clyde's attacks where doing much. The bull attacked Clyde at a hi-speed, he tried to defend himself with his shielded, but the bull still managed to send him flying to the other side of the room
"Oh no, Clyde!" I run at him and heal him with my magic "Are you ok?"
"Ughh… Kind of" Clyde said, he showed me his arm and his shield was broken "I'm not going to survive another like that"
What should we do now? The bull tried to ram us again, we again evade it and he crashed against the wall. He doesn't seem smart, but his stats are too big for us
"Ice shoot" I summon a bunch of ice crystals and launch them at the bull
Maybe he is weak to magic. The bull got out of the wall and look for us as the ice hit him in the face, but it didn't look effective, until one lose shoot accidentally hit the tree in his back and made the bull cry in pain
"The tree is his weakness!" Clyde yelled stating the obvious
"I got an idea" I said
"What is it?" Clyde asked
"Do you trust me?" I asked
"Wha…? Of course, dummy" Clyde said
The bull ram at us again this time faster, we evade one last time. I fired my ice shot to the ground making an ice pillar underneath Clyde and launching him on top of the bull
"This is over!" Clyde yelled cutting the small tree
The bull fell to the floor in pain and a few seconds later he went limp and explode in a cloud of purple smoke, we won
"Yeah, we did it!" Clyde run to hug me
"Yes, we did" I said hugging him back "Are you feeling alright?"
"I'm very tired, but your magic helped a bit" Clyde said
"Let's rest before going back" I said
"Ok" Clyde said lazily as he leaned on me
With this the town should be safe. Our adventure in the Hexagon is over… but what should I do from now on…

Hey guys, did you like the chapter? Guys, I'm going to take a break from this fic for a while. I literally wrote this 3 chapters back to back, as I had the idea, and I don't know if people are going to like it, so I'm going wait to see if I should continue, I'll probably continue it just because I want to, but I also need to finish 'Hero Origins'
Lastly, Danny's class in English is called 'Minstrel' I never heard that word in my life and is weird, so I just changed it to bard, because is easier :3
