"Villains. It's villains again. They're coming just like the last time." Midoriya thinks as a giant warp gate opens leading several Nomus into the forest. "I already have two fingers wounded. Last time when I tried using my powers I nearly..."
"Snap out of it! The shiny beacon of hope that is heroism won't be extinguished by a mere breeze of villainy. Why? Because the masked heroes are here!" El Santo says as he rises his arms up into the air. It was a double meaning action. On one hand he was shouting, I'm here villains, you'll have to pass through me to reach these children, on the other it was a challenge. One day you'll have to rise your hands up proclaiming you are there to stand in front of the enemy. Heroes are the symbol of peace before they become heroes until the very day they put down the mask.
"El Santo is right. We must stay focused and out of the way of the heroes." Ida says as the five close up together.
"I cannot protect you on your way back. If you try to run to the base you'll be chased down by a villain and I won't be able to leave my fellow heroes behind to save you." El Santo says with a stern look on his face. "However, there is a way! The heroic way to move forward! If we push through the villain ranks together I can get you on the other side of their formation. From there you can start running towards the village to warn the unaware folk of the villain's imminent arrival. Beyond this line of villains lie a whole mine filed of heroes ready to spring into action as they are closing in to bring justice to these villains. Are you ready to risk it all to save lives and bring heroism into the lives of the innocent?" El Santo shouts to the top of his lungs as his fellow heroes and villains start fighting the incoming battalion of nearly a dozen Nomus.
"It's do or die. There is no time to think. Say yes Midoriya. Say yes!" Deku was thinking to himself but the words didn't came out of his mouth. It took no more than a mere second and Ida forced himself to say yes first. He has nearly shacking and the pressure of having made the right decision for everyone is weighting heavily upon his shoulders.
"Two hundred metres, you'll have to run two hundred metres from here to the other side of Death Sphere's range. Don't look behind, don't hear behind, don't smell taste or think that anything behind you exists. When I run you start running and you don't stop even if your legs fall off. Understood?" El Santo says as he was getting ready to become a wall between the students and the villains while they cross the battlefield.
Adrenaline rushes in and their limbs start to itch. Their hearts beat like a drum and their heads are about to explode. The six lean forward and suddenly time starts flowing again. One, two, three, ten steps in. Every step covers ten kilometres in one go and it feels like they are suspended in air for a thousand days before reaching the ground again and taking another.
"Don't look, don't hear, don't know!" Everyone repeated as the battle rages around them. From the right a Nomu is so close to them they could feel it's breath. Out of the blue Apex appears from behind them, jumping over Jiro and Momo grabbing the Nomu with his jaws before wrestling it to the ground in a desperate struggle of blows, cuts and bites. Mauled or crushed to death, flesh ripped by sharp teeth or bones broken by powerful fists.
"Do you dare? Do you think you can stop the hero that took enemy artillery fire?" Apex shouts as he rends and eats his way through the arm of a Nomu.
Ten more steps, twenty more steps. The sound of hollow bones rings in their ears. Spines was heading their way bone whips at the ready to flay them alive. Just as they took large steps he did the same in an animalistic fashion like a coyote starving to eat a bleeding rabbit. Taken by surprise a pair of hands grab and knock him to the ground. Coffin arrived just under his feet and made him trip. While falling to the ground Coffin pulls onto Spine's legs making his knees reach the ground first. Falling like that Spines had no way to brace himself in time as his hands were behind him with the whips ready to strike. From the ground Coffin rises with his feet a stone above ground and Spines heads head first into it falling unconscious on impact. As soon as he fell to the ground however metal spikes hit the ground around Spines and a few of the projectiles hit Coffin in the arms while still holding onto Spines.
"With this one, I'll make sure you fall face first into it." He says as he pulls the metal spikes out of his forearms. Blinded by anger for revenge however Coffin didn't realised as a very fast Nomu came behind him. He pushed his arm through the ground and pulled Coffin out into the open where Hog was ready and shot his metal spikes hitting Coffin in his arms and legs.
"Don't look back. Don't look back!" The students were says as words started to feel drawn out and way too long.
There was only Death Sphere left, he stood between the students and the path towards the mountains.
"You'll manage nothing but failure!" Death Sphere says as he's about to remove his glasses. In the mist of confusion and adrenaline, by a miracle the students saw El Santo's hands behind his back moving as he was signalling them to close their eyes as he was going to blind Death Sphere when he will take his glasses off. It was the ultimate gamble. The hero jumps into the air right in front of Death Sphere as the five students run past them. Mere instants before impact the five cover their eyes and a bright flash of light marks their passage beyond the land of danger. One hundred metres were covered and now all they had to do was run as fast as they could towards the village.
"Did any of you missed me?" Shigaraki asks as he appeared from behind the students ready to attack them, one arm raised right above Momo's head. Midoriya was ready to attack with his still intact arm, Ida was preparing to grab Momo out of the way but the dark fog of Kurogiri made them doubt themselves. A flying metal pipe hits the dark cloud dispersing it for a second, long enough for Ida to grab Momo away from Shigaraki's grasp as the five run for it as far as possible.
"That's why you don't do things half way. That's why you always make sure you finish the job properly!" Shigaraki says scratching the flesh off his face and neck. Channel managed to grab one of his pipes and threw it at the two villains while the five were running away.
Midoriya, Momo, Ochaco, Jiro and Ida made their way beyond the one hundred metres radius of Death Sphere's gaze and started running through the forest. They could hear explosions, Heroes and villains fighting all around them. From time to time their path would be crossed by beams of energy, tremors, flames and blood. The revolutionary militia was launching a full scale assault on the resort.
"Ida!" Midoriya shouts as they all keep running. "Go forward, run as fast as you can to the village and warn them. Use the radio and have Easy speak with them, warn them about the incoming danger. Move!
"That's a bad idea! If I go forward and we separate in these dangerous lands we might become more of a hindrance if we encounter other heroes. Five together can at most get in the way of only one hero while separated we could stumble over five different battleground putting five different heroes at risk. We must stick together or have more heroes put their lives in danger to defend us!"
"If only I could..."
"Midoriya, my legs are still shaking. You rose your fist to hit Shigaraki, I planted my feet hard on the ground ready to run as far as possible. None of us if capable of facing a villain as we stand. There is nothing we can do but run and save the villagers from the militia as heroes do their job. It is a sidekick's duty to control the flow of civilians and keep people safe after all!" Ida says as he regains some confidence confessing his fear.
"Lets do our combo!" Ochaco says as he proposes to use the plan they created during the test. She would make the four of them as light as a feather while Ida would hold them by wires and run forward as fast as possible. That way they would reach the village in no time. Momo starts creating the ropes while there are running when a giant sphere of light appears behind them. Death Sphere's death zone. He used his vision to burn everything inside his field of view.
"That's some Quirk control you've got there." Shigaraki says as he flinches from the beams of light nearly burning him. Channel was crumbling to dust after Shigaraki grabbed him by the head. Coffin too was filled with metal spikes and nailed to a tree. El Santo was completely burnt and barely breathing. Apex who was as stubborn as the scales on his body and the candles on his birthday cake was still moving. Three Nomus jumped on top of him and started punching him.
"The children escaped."
"It matters not. Our agents had a head start. I'm sure..." Shigaraki was stopped mid sentence. A Nomu flew past his head torn in half with the upper torso facing his back. The earth quakes and shatters as a giant shadow engulfs them. A monster twelve meters high, a humanoid sperm whale was crushing one Nomu under it's enormous bulk. It no longer had skin but armour made from the cuts and wounds it gained over the years.
"I have evolved to hunt beings like you. For one hundred years I've fought and ate villains. You think you'll be able to stand before the oldest living Hero and escape justice?"
"How is he still alive? I burnt him to death."
"Light reflects itself! Particles hit one another creating a barrier." El Santo says moving again. His skin was burnt from the explosion but thanks to his glitter bomb he managed to reflect most of the damage sustained. Straining himself to the maximum he grabs Death Sphere by the waist and rises him into the air before falling backwards. "Luster Suplex!" El Santo smashes Death Sphere head first into the ground blocking his field of view with dirt.
"I'll kill you!" Shigaraki shouts but a second Nomu flies his way forcing Kurogiri to take him to safety. "How, how can he kill them so easily? They were made to kill All Might, why doesn't it work against him? Why?"
"A piece of advice villains. May my name forever remain stained in your memories, may it bring you nightmares in the night. I am Apex Predator, the hero who is specialised in taking out villains. I am MADE to hunt down monsters."
"We've underestimated our opponents. All Might was weakened when we faced him but we've never considered there would be heroes specialised in taking down Nomus."
"It matters not. Take Death Sphere and get us out of here, as long as there are only children defending the village we are sure to capture the golden boy. Hehehe, if we're lucky we might even get to see the remains of those brats." Shigaraki says as Kurogiri takes him and Death Sphere away as an army of Nomus and lesser villains head towards the hero resort.
At the steps of the mountains the forest from lush and green becomes dark and burnt. There is blood and fire everywhere with numerous victims.
"We've got here too late!" Ida says.
"I hear fighting still going on further into the mountains!" Jiro says listening with her earphones.
"Let's hurry. We might still be able to save someone if we get there in time." Corn, corn was growing everywhere, half of it on fire, another half all over the place and it was still growing. Small patches of corn separated from everything were scattered all around. Some was growing on top of large rocks, rock was growing next to trees and some inside the craters of the previous battle. Lightning falls from the sky and hits further into the rocky terrain.
"I hear voices, no! Just one, just one more voice! Two heartbeats and one more voice!" Jiro says as they are about to cross the corner and enter into the village. The houses were burnt, lightning hit them. On the ground there was corn all over the place covering the corpses of the villagers. In the middle of it, on top of a pile of corpses of innocents and villains struck with sharp stone weapons stood one man holding in one arm a metal rod and in the other an unconscious still breathing teenager with blue skin and black stripes around his eyes and mouth, body half destroyed by lightning. Having the advantage of the surprise attack Midoriya jumps in and tries striking the mad in the middle but as soon as the man realised he was there he made his metal weapon hit the ground and lightning hit Midoriya mid air.
The villain in front of them was S tier villain Ragnarök and his quirk was lightning rod. Using a metal weapon he summons electricity to hit the ground and charge his body. When enough electricity is charged he can make a real lightning bolt strike the ground with all it's intensity. Ragnarök throws the blue bodied teenager away and grabs his metal weapon with both ends. He gives the students a terrifying look before getting ready to attack. Ragnarök grabs Midoriya by the head and prepares to strike with his metal bat the ground but he was stopped. When he hit the ground lightning fell from the sky but in the exact same moment Momo threw a lightning rod above Midoriya drawing the lightning inside of it thus saving his life. Once struck by lightning the rod opens releasing a blanket similar to that she used when they were attacked during their training by the villain league. Ida grabs Ochaco and brings her immediately in front of the villain. When he removed the blanket she grabbed onto him and made him loose all his weight floating in mid air. Ida grabbed Deku and pulled him away while Jiro used her sonic waves to push the weightless Ragnarök into nearby trees. While under attack her takes his metal rod and hits towards Uraraka summoning a streak of lightning right at her location strong enough to burn her slightly as she dodges out of the way onto the ground. The villain now free from the gravity bind gets on his feet and rushes them with his body charged with lightning. Using the wet ground covered with blood he releases his electricity electrocuting Ida and Deku while moving to recover his rod. Jiro uses her earphones to push the weapon away as Momo is creating an insulated device to lock him up for good. Ida gets back on his feet as the shock wasn't as strong as when Deku was struck by lightning.
"We're going to do it in one strike. He doesn't understand Japanese, feel free to make calls out loud! Uraraka, you'll have to make him fly again. Momo, keep creating the restraints. Me and Uraraka will get him weightless again, Jiro make him fly into the air with your heartbeats. When he's up into the sky we'll make him fall into Momo's trap then knock him out and wait for heroes to arrive and take control of the situation. Is everything clear?"
"Yes!" Everyone shouts as Uraraka and Ida start surrounding Ragnarök. Ida grabs his attention as Ochaco approaches him from behind trying to get him by surprise. The two get closer and closer to Ragnarök as their attack seems to work. He's getting dazed and confused. One step away and he's flying up in the air. One step... one! But why is he rising his leg up? The sole of his shoes are made out of metal! He strikes the ground with his feet and lightning hits the ground hitting both Uraraka and Ida. Ragnarök grabs his metal bat and rushes towards Jiro and Momo who don't really have a way to defeat him.
Midoriya gets kicked in the face before someone rising his head off the ground opening his eyes. The blue teenager with half his body burnt was calling onto Deku to stand up and fight. He was shouting with all his strength in his face and slowly Deku was regaining consciousness. As he was getting on his feet the blue stranger summoned a stalk of corn in front of him and limping he entered inside of it. As he entered the few plants of corn bunched together he disappeared only for him to jump out of a newly created bush of corn from behind Ragnarök. He jumps on his back and grabs onto him with one hand while trying to bite his neck off. Angrily Ragnarök grabs him by the hair and throws him forward breaking his fall with his knee breaking three ribs on the not burnt side of his body. That was enough though as Midoriya managed to get on his feet and with one jump he powered by his inherited Quirk he covers the distance and punches Ragnarök with enough force in the face to knock out all his teeth and send him flying through the ground, trees and walls of the burnt houses until he stops in a nearby rock.
"This is Team Purple, I repeat, this is Team Purple! We are at the village, we have numerous wounded, a knocked out villain and many casualties. We need reinforcements immediately!"
