He'd always known that he was special. He'd been born into a wealthy and powerful family, but that was not what made him special. That was just the luck of the draw at birth. Omegas were rare, gifted favor by the gods. Yet that was not what made him special. His hair was soft and sleek. His father and mother always praising its beauty. His skin was smooth and unusually dark amongst his family and his eyes were an odd emerald green. However, such things as beauty were not what made him special either. There was just something way down inside him that told him he was special and that it would never be something as trivial and fading as beauty and wealth.
"Papa, where are we going?"
His elder brother's petulant voice pulled Feilong from his thoughts. Master Liu, head of the Liu family and the all powerful Baishe, laughed and petted his eldest son on the head. "We are traveling to Japan, Yantsui."
Yantsui frowned. "Why are we going to that shit hole?"
Master Liu frowned. "Do not use such improper language Liu Yantsui. Japan is a beautiful country and you should be glad that you are able to travel there and see it for yourself, Yantsui. Not many people can afford such luxuries." He ruffled Yantsui's hair. "One should see the world that lies beyond their own backyard. Besides, I have business partners to meet with here."
Yantsui crossed his arms over his chest, slinking down in his seat with a pout on his face. Beneath his breath, he mumbled: "Why the hell you do business with dirty japs is beyond me, father."
Master Liu sighed as he pretended to not hear his son's words. Yantsui was young and had time to grow, their father always said. Master Liu held onto the hope that his ten year old son would soon grow into a young man that he could be proud of. One he would proudly claim as one of his heirs to the Liu family and the Baishe. It was Master Liu's dream that both Yantsui and Feilong would take over his place together when he retired. Feilong held onto no hope for such a thing. He knew his brother to well to ever believe that Yantsui would change. He knew that the moment that Yantsui could remove Feilong from his life – permanently - he would do so. Yantsui was interested in himself and himself alone. His father's desires and hopes meant nothing to the older Liu sibling. Yantsui took pride in his luck of being born a Liu and he lorded that luck over others. He ordered everyone around as if they were some lowly sewer rat. Yantsui believed he owned the world and he would clutch it tightly in his cruel hands.
Even Feilong himself was not immune to Yantsui's ways. As a small boy, Feilong had looked up to and idolized his elder brother. And for a time, Feilong had believed that his elder brother cared deeply for him. However, as they grew, Yantsui began to show a disdain for the beauty that Feilong held. "You are a man!" he had once shouted at the younger Liu. He had dragged Feilong to the family's practice facilities and started teaching the boy all that he knew about fighting. Taking great delight in bruising Feilong's delicate flesh. Seeing the boys fighting one day, Master Liu set Feilong up for proper training. It hadn't taken long for Feilong to grasp the finer points of battle and soon, he had surpassed hid elder brother in abilities. This only further enraged the elder brother. So at the tender age of six, Feilong learned the truth of his birth and his mother.

Two Years Before:
"Your mother is just a dirty, filthy whore! Your real father is some worthless bastard who didn't want you. Father was too kind to let you grow up on the streets despite your whore of a mother trying to trick him into believing that you are his. Your only here do to MY father's kindness. Otherwise -"
"Yantsui!" Both boys turned to see their father and Feilong's mother standing in Feilong's bedroom doorway. It was the only time that Feilong had seen tears in his mother's wyes and such rage upon his father's face. Master Liu summoned a servant and had his eldest son dragged from Feilong's room. His mother then approached Feilong and pulled him into her arms. He could feel his mother's tears soaking into his hair. "What your brother told you is in no way true, Feilong." Master Liu stroked a hand through Feilong's hair.
Mother and Father settled Feilong into bed. His mother settled next to him on the bed as his father settled into the bedside chair. "Your mother was born into a wealthy and very prestigious family. Sadly, the family fell on her times when your grandfather, grandmother and aunt died in a car accident. Bills to cover the death expenses and aid your mother in recovery, took up most of their wealth. And because every family has t have at least one, greedy family members sucked up the rest of the family. Your mother was left to a distant uncle who cared little to be burdened with a child healing from near death and morning her parents and sister..
Master Liu sighed as he leaned back in his chair, eyes closed. "He sent your mother off to live with a friend who offered to take over what they felt was a burden." He shook his head. "However, the friend was more interested in your mother's body than her care. Your mother did not live a good life there. I knew this man from my university days and had considered him a good acquaintance. I was visiting his home for business when I happened upon your mother."
"Your mother was just a child. I was disgusted at what had been done to her. I have no problem tossing a woman into hell should she owe or betray me. But a child." He shook his head. "I would never send a child into hell. I took your mother into m y custody and ended things with my acquaintance and took over his "holdings". Shortly afterwards, we learned that your mother was pregnant with you. She was ready to raise you on her own, but I refused. I convinced your mother to marry me and allow me to adopt you and name you as my son and one of my heir." He stood and pulled Feilong into a hug. "You are my son in all the ways that matter. I love you my son."
End of flash back.
"Feilong, my son. We are here. It is time for you to wake." Feilong snuggled down into his seat as he pretended to still be asleep. He giggled as his mother tickled his sides. Soon he was squirming and laughing loudly, unable to continue his pretense of sleep. "Mamma!"
"Come my baby dragon. The plane has landed."
He stretched his arms out to her. "Carry me?" He pleaded with his best puppy dog eyes. His mother laughed.
"You are eight years old now my son. Much to big for your mamma to carry." She laid a finger against her lip an hummed as she pretended to thing. "Perhaps your father can still carry you. Shall we ask him?"
Feilong nodded vigorously. Sure enough, his father swung Feilong up into his arms and then over his shoulder. Feilong giggled and kicked his legs in a mock attempt to escape his father's grasp.

Japan was just as beautiful as his father had promised. As his father worked, Feilong and his mother visited cafes, restaurants, shops and parks. He helped his mother pick out new perfume and makeup. The indulged themselves with new beautiful kimonos. It was a wonderful time that was now coming to a close. It was their last day in Japan and Master Liu had decided that they should all spend it together.
Feilong skipped along the water's edge as he and his family made their way through the park. A gentle breeze danced along, taking Feilong's hair as it dance partner. Trees spoke as the leaves shivered with the breeze. Birds sang to one another. Little plashes could be heard as the koi fish surfaced for the food park goers tossed into the water. Feilong approached the water, his eyes caught by the beautiful colors swirling beneath the surface as the fish played. "Watch out!" There was no time for Feilong to brace himself as a ball came towards his back. The ball, quickly followed by the ball's owner slammed into his back and all three tumbled into the water. Fish scattered, frightened by the sudden commotion. Without though, Feilong shifted himself into his dragon form. He caught the ball in one mighty claw and the ball's owner in the other. Feilong propelled himself to the surface of the water, then up and out of it. He settled on the ground and shook the water loose from his body. He turned to the boy he now held, ready to scold the other boy for not being careful.
However, all words fled his mind as he met the amethyst eyes of the boy he held. The other boy was small and slender. His hair as light as Feilong's was dark. He was all pale flesh and rosy cheeks. Feilong's heart thumped heavily in his chest. Around them, a silvery blue color shimmered. Feilong pressed his dragon snot against the boy's forehead, eyes close. "Takaba Akihito, I have found you at last my soul mate."

Present Day.
He had thought that high school would be every bit as boring as middle and elementary school had been. Yet, here on his very first day, in his very first class, he was not only a very sexy teacher. He was presented with his true mate. Feilong purred as he leaned into his mate's thigh. the scent of star anise, cinnamon and rich tobacco surrounding him. It was a soothing scent. The scent of home. A moan took caught his attention. He turned to see his best friend and soul mate, Akihito leaning into his mat's hand as the man played with Akihito's ear. Feilong chuckled, a huge grin on his face.
Yes, he truly was special indeed.
