Donna sits up and looks at her two friends with a negative eye
- «What is so important that you wake me up this way» she looks at them slightly angry
Rachel and Scottie take a look at each other and Rachel shoot
- «New Year's Eve at home! My parents leave the house with us it's going to be the best night of my life!»
- «We invited the whole class except Stephen of course and then we don't care he's in rehab and there will be Harvey» coos Scottie
- «Girls I don't know»
- «No no Donna» said Scottie harshly «I plan to have a great night my relationship with Jeff is having a hard time and I'm counting on this night to get him back on his feet.»
- «Come on Donna you gotta talk to Harvey you know that as well as we do so get your best clothes ready in a few hours it's 2000!» Rachel smiles from ear to ear.
2000 thinks Donna is looking in her closet for something classy casual but also sexy she wants Harvey to look at her she wants to talk to her but she just doesn't have the courage.
She opts for a beautiful pencil-style skirt with autumnal patterns, a beautiful beige cashmere sweater, black pumps and the watch she had on her birthday she is ready for this New Year's Day away from home it will be the best . She pulls out the dress she decided to wear for the New Year and places it neatly in her suitcase.

- «Come on, look good, take your things and in an hour leave for New York City guys!» Said Travis
Mike and Travis leave the room arguing over who will drive the car first being that of Travis who had a rather wealthy father.
He does not care about their bickering and concentrates on his suitcase he stuffs his tuxedo a sweater an old jeans, a jacket a set of socks and a boxer and takes out a pair of old sneakers and a pair of shoes classy for the party , a toiletry bag and the Spinners CD that he knows is Mike's favorite. With his bag ready he leaves to get dressed, already hearing the engine of Travis's car rumble.

Comfortably settled in the car Donna thinks about tonight's evening and her mind drifts towards Harvey. She hasn't seen him since the evening since he told her he meant so much to him.
She thought about what could happen tonight she could still talk to him or kiss him or let him kiss her no she has to stop dreaming she is going to talk to him period.
God, she doesn't know what's happening to her anymore, she tries to concentrate on other things and Scottie and Rachel improvise a karaoke in the car she sings and laughs and discovers New York. Rachel and Samantha's house is in the suburbs around New York City, but they pick up red velvet muffins at the best store in New York City.
They arrive at the house full of joy
- «Wow that's beautiful Rachel» said Donna looking at the house she had just entered. Gigantic Luminous well decorated it had the allure of a palace.
- «Not bad as a place for the New Year's party? My parents are going out tonight to a party aboard a client's yacht to my father so Sam and I have the house just for us. What do you say to start preparing Samantha has gone to look for some dishes at the caterer and she should be back soon so until she comes back we have our work cut out for us.»
- «Come on» said Scottie she was excited
The party promises to be great, whispered Donna
She really hopes that nothing dramatic will spoil this evening.

- «New York city we are there» says Travis turning off the engine of his 4x4 coming out of the car. New York is filled with snow and it's cold on New Years Eve.
- «Yeah we are there» whisper Harvey in a breath
Mike starts to take out their things and they collect their bags they are not staying here so he leaves the rest of their things in the car.
They approach the door and ring the bell.

- «We're coming» Donna scream, getting up from the counter she was sitting on. She wears a beautiful black Roland Mouret dress, Christmas present from these two parents.
She opens the door and finds herself face to face with Harvey. He looks at her with astonished eyes ,eyes descending slightly to her cleavage she blushes.
- «Hi Harvey» she whispers

- «Thanks» she smiles shyly then she looks at him deeply he smiles shyly at her and they do not let go of their gaze.
- «Hum um we can go home» asks Mike clearing his throat
- «Oh well on coming in» she pulls aside leaving Mike Travis and Harvey inside.
She sweat them and Rachel comes along
- «Hello everyone you know that the dress code tuxedo and evening dress » she laughs «so the bedrooms and bathrooms are up there you can go and change».
- «Hi Rachel» said Mike
- «Hey» she smiles
She has noticed how her best friend looks at Mike and how he looks at her is obvious. A thought occurs to her is what this is what people think of when they see her with Harvey.
Before she can consider the matter, new guests arrive.

The party has started well.
There is music everyone is dancing and laughing.
Half the guests are drunk, but not Donna. Donna must have had a drink but she's not drunk she laughs and dances with Rachel and Katrina. In the distance he sees Mike and Jenny bickering and Travis in Samantha's arms, which he spins. The other guests also seem happy. May he isn't he looks at Donna she's beautiful he knows he should invite her to dance but he doesn't have the courage and he doesn't know if she would accept or had not spoken of then Christmas evening. He decides to get out of the way, the new year is ringing in a little over 10 minutes. It's going to be a heck of a row. He grabs a glass of mulled wine and goes upstairs to a balcony where he will be quiet.

She's really having fun she's tipsy it's true but she is aware of everything that is going on and she knows Harvey is gone she doesn't feel his gaze on her. She had seen him all evening, their eyes seemed drawn to each other. But every time they got closer determined to talk, someone pulled Harvey by the sleeve for a poker tournament or one of the girls found Donna over some cooking problem or whatever. But they almost couldn't speak and she really wanted to talk to him. And there is only one place Harvey Specter would go at a party to relax.
She walks off the dance floor and passes Rachel and her boyfriend Logan kissing on the stairs, Travis and Scottie very close as Jeff, Louis and Sheila look on in awe doing a weird dance and she spins down the hallway standing straight in front of a picture window and he was there in his tuxedo leaning against the balustrade. She opens the door, taking a breath.
He doesn't hear her so she walks up to him and puts her hand on his shoulder, he turns around with a start.

She is beautiful he would like to kiss her but he can't she doesn't want him she was clear about that.

He turns suddenly at his words
- «About what ? You didn't do anything wrong»
- «Because of Stephen because of what I said to you I never should have told you these things I don't» she stops realizing what she had just confessed to him
He walks over to her, facing her, the snow starting to fall slowly, a tear pearl on his cheek and he wipes it gently with the tip of his thumb.
- «You what ?» He said calmly
- «I didn't mean what I said any of the things.»

- «No» she looks him in the eye

- «No Harvey» she exclaims «you have nothing to apologize for I was awful to you, I haven't told you about Stephen I don't even know why I dated him».
- «Because you loved him.» It hurts to say that about the fact that she loves another
She understood what he was doing he tried to heal the wounds but he didn't say the right things. And despite herself the truth is coming out faster than she hoped.

Her heart leaps. He knows then that she lied when she said she didn't feel anything for him. He closes the gap between them and takes her lips, cupping her lower lip between his. She moans and the sound spurs him on. It's a languid but slow kiss as if time had stood still. When they separate he breathes heavily, blowing white smoke from the cold.
He wants to tell her that he loves her that he is in love with her she knows that she is waiting for him to say that so he goes for it

When suddenly their friends show up on the balcony with streamers of balloons confetti from hats screaming happy new year and he is separated from Donna and dragged away by drunk Travis Mike and Stu who pushes him to join the party unconscious as long as they have just interrupted. Donna also gets dragged along by her drunken gang of friends all holding glasses of champagne in their hands. The moment has passed ...
