This story takes place after The Intruder where Luz invites Amity to a sleepover. Requested by lexboss. Hope you enjoy.
To those who aren't comfortable to see someone cutting themselves. Do not be alarm, in this story Amity is immortal. But, if none of you are comfortable with it, please look away.
Amity is walking to the Owl House after Luz ask to come over. Luz told her that they're going to have a sleepover. Amity was hesitance, of course, she agreed to go over at her place. But there's one problem with that. Her Parents. She lied to them that she's going to have a sleepover with her friends. If they ever find out that Luz is human, they'll never going to accept it. So, she has to keep Luz existence a secret.
She brought her bag of things she brought from home, along with her pillow. It's only been almost a week since she met Luz. So, for Amity this is going to be her first time visiting her. As she sees the Owl House she stopped for a moment. She never been to the Owl House before, she looked up to see the window shattered. She then walked up to the door which has what appears to be claw marks.
"Oh boy, a visitor!" Said Hooty.
"Um… hi." Amity greets Hooty.
"Hello! Hoot!" Hooty greeting the green-hair girl "What can I do for you! Want to listen my stories? I have ton…"
"No thanks! Does Luz live here?" Amity asked the House Demon.
"Oh yeah, she's here for some time. Hoot!" Hooty responds "I'll let her know."
Hooty extend his neck all the way to Luz room, which is the attic. As soon, Hooty returned to the door "She's coming." He told her.
Right on cue, the door opens to reveal a familiar Latina girl "Amity!" Luz happily hugged Amity which made the mint-hair girl face bright red "I'm so glad you came. For the moment there, I was starting to wonder if you couldn't come." Said Luz looking at Amity which the witchling smiled.
"Why wouldn't I come? I'm actually happy to come over." Said Amity with Luz grabbing her hand "Then what are we waiting for? LET'S GET THIS SLEEPOVER STARTED!" Shouted Luz pulling Amity inside with Hooty closing the door.
With Luz guiding Amity to the attic, she notices Luz clothes. She's wearing a grey sleeveless tank top, purple shorts with moons and stars, and even wearing socks. As soon, they got the attic Luz show Amity around "This is where I'm sleep. And this is where we're going to have our sleepover activities." Luz very excited "Oh boy, this is so excited…"
"Yeah, excited. Mind I change into my nightclothes?" Amity asked.
"Of course, won't be a sleepover if you're still wearing your daytime clothes. The bathroom is right over there." Said Luz pointing to the bathroom.
"Thanks." Amity sets her pillow down as she walks to the bathroom with her bag.
Luz left alone while waiting for Amity to finished changing. If she has to be honest to herself, she's a bit shy and nervous about this. This is her first ever sleepover to someone she considers a friend. The other kids from school never bother nor even care asking her. They all avoid her; is it because of her status as an outcast? Or is it they consider her weird?
Either way, Luz never once had been to a sleepover before. So, this is basically new for her. When she hears the bathroom door open, she looks to she Amity coming out with her pajamas. She's wearing a black shirt with a moon crest on her chest, and a pink short while wearing socks on her feet.
Luz blushes a little while staring at Amity's shorts. Especially her legs. When Amity sets down her bag, she notices Luz is staring at her. Is can't help but to smile a bit.
"Seeing something you like?" Amity asked which made Luz face become even redder.
"N-No! I-It isn't like that!" Luz throwing her arms around denying "I-I just like your clothes! I-I mean…!"
Amity giggled walking up to the Latina, wrapping her arms around Luz neck hugging her with their faces squished each other "I'm kidding. Don't get all denial." Said Amity while Luz face is still red.
"Does the Owl Lady know I was coming over?" Amity asked.
"Eda? Yeah, she was against it at first. But, after a lot of convincing she finally agreed you come." Luz explained, which Amity understood.
When they sat down where Luz sleeps Amity looks at her "Quick question, what happen here?" Amity asked which Luz look confused.
"Huh? What happen what?" Luz responds.
"I notice your door was covered what appears to be claw marks."
"Oh, you mean what happen to Hooty? Well, it's a funny story."
When Luz told Amity what happened, the Mint-hair girl eyes widen. Both shocked and horrified at the same time. Amity grabs Luz shoulders "You weren't hurt, were you?!" Amity shouted in worried.
"I'm fine! Really!"
"I-I find this hard to believe! You're telling me that Eda is cursed?!"
"Yeah, she has been cursed since she was young. She doesn't know who did it, or why they cursed her. All I know that Eda needs to drink her elixir in order to keep the curse at bay. If she doesn't take it more daily, she'll transformed into an Owl Beast."
Amity trying to progress this. She already knows that Eda is a most wanted criminal in the Boiling Isle. But she doesn't know why she would be named as the Owl Lady. And after, hearing it from Luz it made since why Eda is called the Owl Lady. Then something else cross her mind.
"There's one more thing that I want to ask." Said Amity.
"Yeah?"
"How… how did you manage to survive?"
"Well, believe it or not…" Luz took her notes and her pencil. She then draws a glyph, she tapped it once as the paper crumbles into a ball of light. Luz held it up in her hands showing Amity. Amity stares at the light with a surprised expression as Luz look at her with a smile "…I can finally do magic."
"Luz… that's…" Amity is speechless, she never thought Luz could do magic because she's human. But, seeing this changes that. She looked into Luz eyes "How…?"
"Eda. I asked her to teach me some spells." Luz explained.
"But Luz, in order to do magic spells, you need a bile sac which store magic. How could you able to pull this off?" Amity asked.
"Well, that's the thing. When me and King hid inside the greenhouse, hiding from Eda who was in her cursed Owl Beast Form. I took my phone out which had a crack."
"I played the video which then fizzing out and all the sudden… this symbol appeared." Luz then drew another glyph letting the first orb of light to float up. Once she's done drawing, she tapped it once as another orb floats up "I don't know how, but Eda did said witches did once used different types of magic. And if it wasn't for this Light Spell, me and King would have been Eda's food."
"That's… actually amazing." Said Amity.
"I know right?!" Luz grabbing Amity's arms exciting "But that's just the first spell I manage to learn! Who knows how many more I could learn!"
Luz hands loosen when a realization struck her. Amity notice Luz expression change, which made her worried "Luz…? You… okay?" Amity asked.
When Luz snapped out of it, she shyly blushes letting go her arms "Yeah, I'm alright." Said Luz.
"Are you?" Amity narrowed her eyes at her which made Luz nervously sweat "Luz…" Amity gently placing her hand on her cheek as Luz look at her in the eyes "…you can tell me. What's wrong?"
"Well, it's just…" Luz look down at the floor sadly.
"It's just what?"
"It's just that… I'll be heading back home once summer ends. Not only that… even though I want to uncover every kind of spells… imagine the years it'll take. I'll become old someday and well… might not be coming back once my time is up."
Amity look at Luz with a sadden expression. She somehow knows that Luz will miss this place. And somehow knows that Luz wouldn't be able to learn new spells, which might take centuries. That's when an idea pops up. Part of her doesn't want to tell her, but the other part couldn't live the thought of losing her someday. To live in the world without her.
Luz look at Amity realize what she said "S-Sorry!" Luz apologize while blushing "Didn't mean to be negative. I should've kept it to myself."
"Luz… there's…" Amity starting to say which got the Latina girl attention "…there's something I want to confess."
Luz face became red "A c-confession?" Luz asked which the Blight girl nodded.
"A confession?! Why is she telling me that?!" Luz thought.
"Promised you won't freak out, okay?" Amity asked her.
"Promised for what?"
"Just promised!"
"Okay, okay I promised."
Amity told a deep breath and exhale. Trying to calm herself. She then stares at Luz "Luz… the truth is that I'm…" Amity stopped in mid-sentence.
"I'm… what?" Asked Luz.
"I'm… I'm tentatively… immortal." Amity finished her sentence while looking partly away nervously.
Luz eyes widen, not sure she heard her right "I-I'm sorry… what?" Luz asked once more.
"I'm immortal! There I said it!" Amity shouted.
"WHAT?!" Luz loudly shouted, "YOU'RE IMMORTAL?!"
"Luz you promise not to freak out!"
"HOW CAN I NOT FREAK OUT?! First Eda and now you!"
Hearing Eda's name made Amity look surprised "Wait, did you just say Eda? And are you saying that Eda is immortal?" Amity asked which Luz nodded.
"How did you know that?" Amity asked her again.
"She told me after the whole Owl Beast. I find it pretty cool though." Said Luz as she stares back at Amity "So, how are you immortal? Are you… a vampire?"
"Vampire? No; if I was, I would've burned to a crisp in the sun." Said Amity while looking away hugging to herself "You see, I was doing some research for my assignment in Hexside. Is about performing different spells in order to know what they do."
"Then I found an old book which has a forbidden spell to make anyone immortal. At first, I thought a spell grants you immortality seems impossible. But… of course, my curiosity got the best of me. I…"
"You did the spell anyway? Didn't you?" Luz asks.
"Yeah… I did." Amity admits it while nodding.
"How… How did you know it work or not?"
Amity didn't say a thing. However, she spun her finger to create a spell circle. A dagger appears as Amity gripped it in her hand. Luz sees the dagger make her sweat nervously "Uh… Amity? W-What are you doing with that dagger?" Luz asked the witchling.
"A demonstration. It's best to show you rather then say it." Said Amity.
"A-Are you sure that's… a good idea?"
Amity didn't respond back. Instead she places the dagger on her left palm. She winces as she feels the blade cut through her skin. Feeling the blood oozing out, Luz grabbed Amity left wrist pulling it away from the dagger "AMITY! ARE INSANE?!" Luz shouted "WHY WOULD YOU…"
Couldn't finished her sentence, she sees a blue glow. Looking at Amity hand where the wound Amity caused glowing. The blood is also glowing blue as it went back inside the entry wound. With the light dies down, the cut on her palm disappeared. As if it never happened.
"…cut… yourself…? Oh, Dios mío." Luz look surprised as she looks back and forth from Amity face to her hand. Trying to make sense of things "Y-Your hand… it… it just…"
"Healed itself?" Amity finished Luz sentence as the Latina nodded "Like I said, immortality." She pulls her hand away from Luz grasp. This got Luz realize something "Does your family know about it?" Luz asked her, which made the mint-hair witch jolt in fear.
"No! O-Of course not! I-I…" Amity looked away "I didn't think the spell would work. The first time I notice it when I accidentally burn myself in class. I just watch as my hand healed itself without any healing magic. As if my injury didn't happen."
"But... why would you want to keep it a secret? I'm sure your parents…"
"Luz, you don't have any idea what my parents are like. If they find out about my immortality, I-I don't know what they'll do."
Both of them became quiet. Luz of course, doesn't know what Amity's parents are like since she never actually met them. And of course, there's Amity immortality. She doesn't know how people would react to it. Unable to age nor die is pretty much a huge change. But there is something that is bugging her.
"Amity? Why are you telling me this?"
"What you mean?"
"Why telling me that you're immortal? There was no other reason for you to reveal it to me?"
"But there is a reason."
Luz see Amity's tears as she look into her eyes "You said it yourself Luz. Someday you'll be gone from this life. Me? I used forbidden magic to cast a spell to make me immortal. That means I won't… see you in the afterlife." Amity tear fell down from her cheek and from her chin "I can't live in a world without you."
Luz finally find out what Amity is saying "Amity… are you saying… you want to make me immortal?" Luz asked which Amity rubs her arm.
"If that's what you want that is."
Luz is silence, she doesn't know if she wants to be immortal. But thinking what Amity had said, living a immortal life, while everyone fades away. It would be pretty lonely, especially Eda. That's when is hits her, she doesn't want Amity to be alone. Especially when she's immortal and maybe… just maybe it won't be such a bad thing. Luz would be happy to spend her endless days with the girl she loves.
"But, if you don't want to that's…" Amity couldn't finished her sentence as Luz stretch her hands out as she holds onto the mint-hair girl, Amity stares at Luz who is giving a loving smile "Actually I want do." Said Luz which got Amity surprise.
"W-What…?"
"Amity… is it okay for you to turn me immortal?"
Amity eyes widen in shock, surprise that Luz is willing to become immortal. Just so she could be with her. She's not sure if this is what she wants. But she already has a feeling that Luz made up her mind. The edges of her mouth slowly forming into a smile "You sure that is what you want?" Amity asked.
"Do you really need to ask?" Luz tease still keeping that smile.
With that said Luz stares at Amity "So, how does it work? Is there a ritual or something?" Luz asked Amity with questions.
Amity didn't answer, she creates two spell circles apart from one another. She put her hands through each, grabbing hold onto Luz's hands made her shyly blushes, pulling them where the circles are place. Amity look at Luz "Any second thoughts before we do this?" Amity asks which Luz mockingly laugh "No I don't. Let's get this going, alright?" Said Luz.
Amity close her and took in a deep breath. She then constraint as she begins the chant;
"Light darkens. The sun sets.
Life becomes death.
With these words spoken, the cycle shall be broken.
As one more is destined to walk with the sands of time and surpass mortals by becoming immortal."
As soon, she said those words the spell circles started to glow bright. Changing its color to blue as Amity continue on with the same chant.
"Light darkens. The sun sets.

The light shines even brighter as Luz whole body slowly glowing. The blue light covered Luz from head to toe. While her hair and clothes are being blown by a strange force.
"Light darkens. The sun sets.
Life becomes death.

As Amity finishing up the chant, the whole room is ingulf with light. The light shines through the window. As soon, Amity finished the chant the light dies down. Once the light fades away the spell circles disappeared as Amity let go of Luz hands "There, the spell is done." Said Amity, Luz checked around to see if anything changes. However, she doesn't see any changes.
"Are you sure it worked? I don't feel anything different." Said Luz puzzled.
"Trust me, it worked."
"How would you know? You didn't think it worked the first time."
"Perhaps a test? To see rather or not it worked?" Amity told Luz of her idea.
"That would work. But what are we going to use to test it?" Luz question.
Amity picks up the same dagger from earlier which made Luz nervous. Amity held her hand out "Is it okay to use this?" Amity asked.
"I'm not sure…"
"Don't worry, I'll only do it a little."
"Okay… but a tiny bit, okay?"
Luz held her hand out which Amity gently hold her hand. Bring the dagger towards one of the fingers she gently taps it. Luz wince feeling the sharp blade poke her finger, quickly pulled it back out from Amity's hand. Luz sees the blood leaking out a little only for a blue light to shine. The light fades as her finger is healed. Nothing left behind.
Seeing Luz staring at her finger. Amity look at her who hasn't said anything, she leans in a bit "Luz?" Amity called to her "Are you okay?"
Without warning Luz hugged Amity who fell backwards onto the ground with Luz head on her chest "I can't believe I'll live forever with you and Eda!" Said Luz snuggle her head with Amity face red.
Amity would've yelled at Luz not warning her but was against it as she giggles. She wraps her arms around Luz holding her while smiling. Amity softly say, "Love you Luz."
"Love you too Amity."
Luz life changes for the better now she's immortal. To live forever with the girl, she loves.
