It was at this moment that Geralt, saw his mother return to consciousness and then begin to fall he was beaten to her by Vesemir the older man caught her and held her to him as her weight gave way under-her.
As Geralt grew closer he saw tears streaming down her eyes as more children appeared around her, but they did not move they did not stand, their eyes were glassy and empty of the joy they once held.
They had died with agony in their eyes as some were burned some cut open some impaled. It was horrid watching her with them as she moved over their bodied healing them and removing the blood from them, she moved over them and spun cloth from the Valleys mist and dew, till it shone a bright clear silver, the threads so thin as to catch moon light as the moon light fell, she did this for all of the children and for the adults that had died in their defence she made shrouds of gold and red saying the brave should be in the colours of the brave.
She worked all night and day over them, she moved earth and water and created a cave well under the valley and castle, she sculpted a grave site as Witcher's did not really have a place for their dead, for before this moment they all thought that they would die in some cave eaten by monsters or some other dark place.
Soon the cave had walls of marble and wolf insignia lining the walls, in the centre she placed a strange red crystal, and began to etch runes none of the Witcher's knew of, soon in the centre of the room the children she had veiled appeared, she began to sing a sad song of death and life.
It was a lullaby of woe.
Soon each of the children's bodies glowed and from it stood a childlike creature, beautiful and fluid looking like vapour and mist, and soon they joined her song, but with a focus on life, the crystal shone in that place casting white light from its ruby depths. The children's body's soon sunk into the earth as the dead adults appeared and again, she sang and from their corpses older looking creatures appeared Sharpe and cutting in their beauty.
They bowed to the witch and tried to speak but none could hear the words, she gave a sad laugh as they tried to lift her spirits, but soon they too joined the song, and the room dimmed and their bodied sunk into the earthen floor and from around the room the likeness of every fallen child and Witcher was sculpted, each of the adults had swords and medallions taken from their corpses, and enchanted to never rust.
The children had their training swords and a personal item on their statues.
She enchanted for 3 days straight that if the castle were to ever be attacked again the spirits of the fallen would possess the statues and defend their family and fellow Witcher's, like how Hogwarts of old had enchanted armour to defend her, Kear Morhen with its glowing ward stone now had a sentience to defend her children.
On the night of the 3rd day she fell into a deep sleep as the Witcher's and children looked on at her work, she slept for the next week surrounded by the warm comfort of her adopted children and family.
When she awoke she asked each Witcher to pass her their medallions so she could add protections and a portkey, that if they ever fell in battle their bodies would return home and they too could add to the protections of the castle and the future.
When she returned them the medallions eyes glowed softly for a few days as the magic set in, not one Witcher of the school of the Wolf did not hand over their amulet so were they all effected. So much for mutants without humanity.
For years she became a constant even when Geralt moved onto the path and left the castle she was there protecting the children and the memory of those she could not save.
It was many years later that she felt destiny and fate stir, Geralt had done something, something that was making death move closer to this world but also made destiny shiver as her green eyes flashed, she saw her fall into this world she saw magic follow her into it, and she saw chaos shrink back and be given pause.
Magic was as it always was a constant familiar presence to her, but now it was turning its head to this world not to really enter it like she/it had on earth. No, she/it was Curious about something chaos was trying to push.
Then as Harriett and Magic together looked out they saw a prophesy and terrible prophesy, she and She/it saw the world ender and a white light, she saw chaos push the pieces on the board.
Chaos pushed things all over the world pushing events till it hit something it had no connection to, it hit magic and through magic, Harriett, for chaos it not magic but magic is chaos, its why chaos could do somethings like magic, but magic was not bound to the logic of the world like chaos was, chaos was shackled by order to some degree, magic was not.
So, as chaos tried to push Harriett, to become a none issues, by moving its usual pieces, the elves and dwarves and all other sundry of creatures, magic changed the her/it's stance, and chaos's influence was thwarted... by total and utter stupidity, elves got lost in the forests trying to find her, never to know they had passed by her location no more then one occasion.
Dwarves got lost in mountains and valleys places they had lived since before the elves had even set a foot on this world.
All manner of things happened that made all manner of beings look stupid, and Chao's the plan fell through, basically people and beings that should have been able to find her couldn't, as magic boggled the senses and minds of them and now chao's powers could stop it. it continued like this for a times they tried to find the Witcher's Witch.
That was another thing that set her apart from the mages of this world, while their chaos magic was emotionally driven it was still bound by the logic that that person can make fire with flint and stone so they can make fire with Chao's.
Harriett's magic was more, she understood what fire was and just needed to imaging it for there to be fire, like if a tree falls in the forest, does It make a sound, obviously yes but while mages needed to actual know it had fallen and why Harriet just need to will it and the trees still standing but the noise is there as well so is it or is it not falling… (confused yet, cause it confused me trying to give none logical magic a none logical cause and effect.)
