"So, tomorrow's brunch is on, right?"
"Yeah, though I am very nervous to.meet your family, especially your dad."
I reach out for her hand across the table, " Ana don't let him hinder your personality, your true character. My family is going to love you and the kids, I just wanted you to meet them first so there is no tension amongst you in front of Ted and Phoebe."
She nods, "What time?"
"Around 10?"
"Okay, I just sought out the majority of my work today."
"That's good. So, what do you think the children are doing with your father?"
"Probably telling my dad about their week and you. They must be telling him about every detail of you." She giggles.
"Hope they only say the good things." I chuckle lightly but I am scared, fucking scared, children always speak the truth and I dont Ana's father to find some flaw in me.
"Don't worry, they will speak best of you. They think you possess some sort of supernatural powers."
"How about some dessert?"
"Can we have ice cream?"
"Ice cream?"
She nods while blushing.
"Ice cream it is, then. I know a very good ice cream parlour around this place."
I call for the bill and yet again Ana insists on paying.
"Fineeee" She whines and looks so cute. "But I am buying the ice cream."
"We'll see."
No way she is going to pay.
I take her to the ice cream parlour where my dad used to bring us when I was in middle school. It is a pretty good place but I was troubled back then and couldn't admire anything.
"So, what do you want?" I ask her.
"Choco chip." She says while searching frantically through her purse.
"You wait here, I'll bring the ice cream."
She nods without even looking at me.
When I come back she is on the phone, I somewhat hear her from a distance.
"Oh…. That sounds like fun…… No, I am out for dinner….. I promise next time…… Yes…. Yes…. Fine, now Good night and don't trouble grandpa… I love you both….. Bye."
"Ted and Phoebe?"
"Who else!" She giggles
"They are with your dad, they'll be fine."
"I know, it's just I am always anxious whenever they are not with me. They always forget to call me when they are with dad." She shakes her head.
I hand her the ice cream, and we eat it in comfortable silence.
We leave the parlour and go for a walk in a park nearby….
"That was so good. I never knew this place existed. I will definitely bring the kids here……. maybe you could join us?"
"Sure, tell me whenever and I'll be there."
"Well I think we need to address the real issue here."
"That is?" I am so nervous, what is the real issue?
"The colour pattern of Grey House."
Oh god. She is going to be the death of me.
My mind ran a million miles just like that.
"Well it's only fair if we do, that is why we are here in the first place."
"Well I guess you are getting old. You said you'd arrange a meeting on monday."
"Oh shit. I completely forgot. I will do that. Well maybe I didn't just want our date to end."
"Neither do I."
She bites her lip nervously and I don't know if I am hoping for too much but I dive in to steal a kiss, luckily she meets me halfway.
Our lips mould with each other, it's been too long but the kiss is slow and sensual, conveying how I feel, how she feels….
And when it ended, "Whoa" Ana exclaims….
Really Whoa.
"It's been too long."
"It sure has" I shake my head.
Then suddenly I feel Ana's lips against mine once again.
We kiss feverishly this time, it is so much more rough, passionate and oh so sexier.
"You think we will be on the cover page tomorrow morning?" Ana asks after we are done catching our breath.
"I hope not."
"So do I."
"It will be better if we're not seen out here. Let's go elsewhere."
"Trying to get rid of me? Are you?"
"Well...No."
"Just kidding. Let's go, its pretty late now and I don't want bags under my eyes tomorrow when i meet your parents."
"I'll drop you home."
She nods.
We reach her place and the car is quiet… too quiet.
"Well, this is awkward." She chuckles.
"It shouldnt be."
She palms my face and looks in my eyes, "Hey, this will all be fine…. One day. Its just dont try too hard. We are fine. We'll be fine."
I just nod, but I dont want her to go, neither i have any topic to continue this night.
"I have to go, I guess."
I get out of the car and open her door, "Thank you, kind sir." She giggles and I pull her in my arms.
She feels good here.
She belongs here.
"I don't want to leave you."
"I don't want you to leave."
"One day." I repeat her words from earlier.
"One day." She promises and seals it with a kiss.
We reach her doorstep and she asks while unlocking the door, "So…. tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'll pick you up."
"Okay." She whispers.
"Okay," I lean in and give her a searing kiss…. again. "This will give you something to dream about tonight." I say as I walk away.
She giggles, "Bye."
"Laters baby." I wink at her and look at her for the last time.
This is the shortest chapter I have ever posted, please bear with me, I have some exams ahead and other things to do.
I will complete this story at any cost, it might be a bit late.
