I noticed that (probably, I'm too lazy to check) every book in the series has a chapter called "Evasive Action" and decided to start off with it.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
This was a normal sound at the CIA Academy of Espionage. Screams of terror, pain, and battle were common things, and they came from me regularly (excluding the last one). In this class, we were stuck in a pit climbing out, with almost all of the top students shooting at us with paintball guns. Almost all because Erica had to be removed as she was mowing everyone down. The professors weren't that harsh. This scream was a result of Chip shooting me in the ear, toppling me down to the ground, which, luckily, was soft.
There were suddenly more screams, but stopping mid-scream. I looked around in alarm, and saw fellow students dropping to the ground, with a dart in each of them. In the chaos, I scrambled up and out of the pit, looking around for the attacker, and saw a dart flying towards me.
I calculated the trajectory and tried to run, but tripped. Luckily, my calculations had been wrong. I watched as the dart embedded itself in the ground where I would have been if I didn't trip. Whew.
Suddenly, someone shouted, "It's SPYDER," but there was a sound of a dart hitting flesh, and a thump of a body to the floor. The identity of this top-secret organization was supposed to be a secret, but in a school where everyone was training to be a spy, there could be no secret. Even more alarmed, I tried to calculate the location of the assailant, but he wasn't where I thought him to be. Of course! I hadn't taken into account the movement of the shooter!
But before I could spot the assaulter, an ATV slammed into an awfully familiar girl who appeared to be about a fourth year holding some kind of a blowgun with a magazine, knocking her unconscious. On the ATV was another girl, this one around my age. She was screaming some curse word. Upon closer inspection (my inspection skills were getting faster), the unconscious assailant was Erica, and I didn't recognize the girl, although she looked Chinese. Then a rock flew at my head from Erica's direction. I think I heard Zoe calling my name, but I don't know if it was real because as I looked towards her, the rock hit me.
Short chapter for suspense. Please review so I can write better.
