A week had gone by and it was Friday once again. Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell had to wait through out the entire week for the pixie infestation to be resolved but they were to go back to school by Monday. During that time, they took care of anything that came up.
Everytime there was anything to do with heavy lifting, it was Maxwell who volunteered to take care of the heavy lifting. Maxwell felt empowered ever since he took on Tibbles and defeated him, but he didn't show off or brag about it. Even though Eda and Luz assured him they can handle a little heavy lifting, still, they felt that Maxwell was being the sweet gentlemen when he would take care of the heavy lifting.
"I wonder just how strong Maxie is?" said King looking amazed.
Maxwell got everything put away in it's right place with Eda letting him know where to put them. The boy felt a big amount of confidence beaming from himself.
"Got everything put up. If you wonder what's that scent that smells like air freshener in the bathroom, it actually is air freshener. It's scent of coconut." Maxwell informed.
They smelled the scent even from the living room and they smiled, loving the smell of the coconut air freshener.
"Smells so tropical." said Luz.
Eda turned to King with a grin.
"What was that you were saying, stretch?" joked Eda.
"Question asked and answered." said King surprised.
As the week was going by, it seemed as though things for the group were doing alright. Maxwell went to get more of the stronger elixir that he had gotten for Eda but he was in disguise by using a potion that he got from Morton, he even gave Morton a generous tip yet he advised Morton to keep the the business they made between the two of them since Maxwell knew that anyone could be watching or listening in on them and their transaction, which is why Maxwell talked to Morton through his mind and had him pretend that he was getting a potion for some small problem like a pain killer that cures all aches and pains.
When he did go to the night time market, he used the potion to disguise himself which the potion had Maxwell take the form of a thirty year old elf with thick red hair and a fully grown beard and mustache who had the body type of a skinny man, he had King go with him during that to watch out for any suspicious people and went to the same person he got the stronger elixir for Eda that he got last time. He paid the money to the man wearing the metal mask and the price was surprisingly fair and agreeable. He tipped him as well and had a bag of the stronger elixir that had at least four potion vials in it with the elixir.
"Four potions of that elixir for twenty-five snails. Braxius is a swell business guy who knows how to be fair to everyone." said King amazed.
"I gave the guy a tip though, so that's twenty-five snails plus a tip of ten extra snails. So that's a total of thirty-five snails." Maxwell counted.
"Well, at least he didn't charge thousands." said King reassuring.
"True." said Maxwell acknowledging the brighter side.
The potion Maxwell used to disguise himself wore off once they got back to The Owl House. Maxwell did confess to Eda about him and King went to the night time market to get more of the stronger elixir for her while Maxwell admitted it was his idea and that King came along to watch each others backs. While Eda admitted that she didn't like how dangerous that trip was, still, she felt relieved they were alright and she felt her heart melt when she knew Maxwell did that for her, pulling him into her arms and both of them kissing each other as they both had a romantic kissing session.
Friday came along and Maxwell's confidence seemed to still be growing ever since his battle with Tibbles. The fun he had at the carnival was also going to be one of his happiest memories for the future, despite what went on between him and Tibbles.
Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell were now somewhere out in a forest located somewhere on the Boiling Isles as it looked like they were on a search for something that was ether something they can use or looking like they could possibly be looking for someone.
"So why are we out here again?" asked King.
"If you'd listen like I told you, than you'd remember." said Eda sounding slightly annoyed.
"What was I doing when you told us?" asked King curiously.
"You were drawing out plans on notebook paper about how you'd defeat any of your enemies, one of which was possibly burning them on fire or just by using a snare trap to leave them hanging upside down while you laugh." answered Eda.
"Oh come on, you'd probably do the same if you were keeping an eye out for your enemies." argued King.
"But the difference is I already know what to do if I encounter one of them, but I don't draw out plans on paper because, well, in my case, it's all up here." said Eda pointing briefly to where her head is.
"You have your way of doing things and so do I." said King making a point.
"Okay, you got me there." said Eda rolling her eyes. "Anyway, we're looking for a rare plant that will serve as an ingredient for future works on potions when ever we sell potions, it'll make the effects stronger and last longer."
As they kept looking around, they kept close by to each other in case they were to encounter anything dangerous.
"This ingredient isn't a drug, is it?" asked Maxwell hopefully.
"Don't worry, it's no drug. But it does have more than one use when you use it for potions." explained Eda.
Maxwell let out a sigh or relief.
"What's this plant suppose to look like?" asked Luz.
"It's suppose to look like a red flower that has it's petals as red as fire but is roughly the size of a shoe box that carries size ten work boots." answered Eda. "They bloom once every seven years."
"That sounds familiar to me." said Maxwell.
Eda turned to Maxwell as if curious.
"You've seen this flower before?" asked Eda.
"Once, but it wasn't the real thing. It was a picture of it on a painting. Saw a chubby male orc that painted it and I heard him talking about it but that was on the second day here before I met you guys." answered Maxwell.
Eda didn't expect this at all nor did King or Luz. Maxwell saw what the flower they're looking for looked like from a painting? That was a first for them.
"I remember hearing him say that the flower also is suppose to smell like cherries." Maxwell explained further.
"So you know a thing or two about this flower and what it's used for?" said Eda with a grin.
"Only from what little I've heard." replied Maxwell.
Maxwell sniffed the air for any signs of the scent he spoke of but he smelled nothing of it.
"No smell, so we got to keep going." instructed Maxwell.
"Luz, you and King stick nearby, just in case we run into vicious predators. Same goes for Maxie." instructed Eda.
"Yes ma'am!" said Luz, King and Maxwell in unison.
As they kept searching, they would see some plants but none of them were the flower they were looking for. Both Maxwell and King were sniffing the air for the scent they were on the look out for but they didn't smell the scent yet.
"I wonder whose sniffer is stronger? King or Maxie?" Eda asked.
Maxwell sniffed the air once again but a horrible scent reached his nostrils as he waved a hand in front of his nose, his nose wrinkling.
"Oh man, that's not right!" said Maxwell annoyed.
King sniffed the air and reacted the same way that Maxwell had reacted.
"Smells like a huge beast farted or took a dump." said King shaking a bit.
"Do we want to know?" asked Luz.
"Not really." answered King.
As they stopped, Maxwell started thinking and an idea popped into his mind. A grin formed on his face.
"What if I said we can find what we're looking for a lot faster?" suggested Maxwell.
Eda grinned as she seemed to know what Maxwell was up to.
"You got an idea, do you?" asked Eda.
"Leave it to me." said Maxwell.
Maxwell made what looked like a hand sign with both his hands and began to make multiple hand signs at a rapid motion while he was chanting in Japanese. As he did this, his body started to glow a bright blue light all over his body and once he stopped. He shown his eyes were fully blue as well. He clapped his hands once and slapped his left hand on the ground. They saw what looked like a trail of this blue light going forwards as Maxwell followed it by running, both Eda, King and Luz followed suit.
"What did he just do?" asked Luz curiously.
"He's tracking it." answered Eda with an excited grin.
"I can sense it! We're getting closer!" called Maxwell.
They were following the blue light trail as they were following it like a trail drawn on a treasure map. Maxwell briefly looked back at the three and looked back at the trail they followed. A grin formed on Maxwell's face as he got an idea for fun.
"Race you guys there!" called Maxwell.
Maxwell suddenly took off running as fast as possible as he was running faster than a jet plane could soar at full speed limit in the sky. Eda got out her staff and it started to levitate as both Eda, Luz and King hopped on the staff and took off towards Maxwell as the speed of the staff was nearly as fast as Maxwell was running.
"No fair, you got a head start!" laughed Luz.
"Don't you wish your boyfriend was hot like mine." said Eda in a sing song voice.
Eda was laughing at the very idea of Maxwell challenging her to a race towards the flower they were going to use for their potions for a future sails of some sort. Her heart raced with excitement as she could tell she was catching up.
"Guess whose coming closer, big boy!" called Eda.
It wasn't long till they heard what sounded like a loud twig snapping nearby and a loud yell of surprise. They sped up faster till the staff eventually stopped to find Maxwell hanging upside down from a snare trap that had him hanging upside down with a rope wrapped around his left ankle. The blue light on his body faded as he had annoyed look on his face. They hopped off the staff and Eda was trying very hard not to laugh.
"You okay, big boy?" asked Eda.
"Yeah, I'm just hanging like bait on a fish hook after someone casts the fishing line out while they're on a fishing trip, fishing for a marlin." said Maxwell trying not to be sarcastic. "Promise me you guys won't tell anyone about this?"
"Like you said, our lips are sealed like a steel-trap." said Eda.
Eda came over to Maxwell and moved her hand as quickly like she was drawing a sword and tossed something at the rope that cut the rope and Maxwell fell from ten feet up but before he was about to flip over and land, something grabbed hold of him as he now hung three feet off the ground.
"Hey guys, who caught me?" asked Maxwell.
"What? Another human but it's a male this time?" came a deep male's voice.
Maxwell looked up to see a male humanoid creature with a large, muscular build. He wore a hood that is non-standard for a guard and a mask with yellow button-like lenses, resembling a medieval plague doctor. He also wore a white sleeveless tunic with brass buttons, a leather belt with a brass buckle, and black trousers tucked into dark purple shoes. On the uniform, one can also see a triangular brass badge, which apparently emphasizes his job position. He looked to be at least seven or eight feet tall. Eda was looking annoyed.
"I knew something would fall for my snare trap but I didn't think it would be a stupid kid with long hair like some hippie." insulted the man.
"Warden Wrath. How unpleasant it is to meet you again." Eda spat. "Put him down, Wrath."
"Okay, he's a stupid, tiny, short little munchkin who fell for my snare trap. I've met animals smarter than him." Warden Wrath insulted.
Maxwell was now annoyed and looked at the tall and huge male as he was starting to delve straight into the man's mind.
"Warden Winifred Wallace Wrath, you tried to get Eda to date you to become a power couple which she refused since your treatment towards children and other innocent people turned her off, you kept some prisoners incarcerated just for being themselves when they might've been a bit weird but they committed no crimes as you were guilty of unlawful imprisonment, oppression towards overs, many theft crimes and attempted murder along with kidnapping, you tried to kill Eda and King, nearly harmed Luz and you have a birthmark on your fanny that looked like a heart." said Maxwell figuring him out. "Are you really this annoying and horrible at your job or did you bribe your way into it?"
Warden Wrath let out a cough as if shocked. Eda burst out laughing at the huge man when she found out Warden Wrath's real name and the fact that he had a birthmark on his butt.
"Ha! Your real name is Winifred! How intimidating is that for you." laughed Eda.
"Who told you my real name and that...birthmark?" asked Warden Wrath feeling embarrassed.
"Your mind isn't a closed book." answered Maxwell.
Warden Wrath felt like he was in disbelief. He was another person who learned that Maxwell had the ability to read minds.
"Eda, you got another one with you? But he's such a loud mouth little monkey brat." said Warden Wrath insulting him.
"Watch it, bub! He's not a monkey." Eda defended. "What business do you have being out here anyway?"
"We got word about a wanted fugitive possibly hiding out here or possibly been spotted out here, they sent me to deal with the punk but they didn't know who it was. Wouldn't surprise me if it was this little punk right here." explained Warden Wrath.
The huge male started to turn Maxwell upside down and shook him a little as if in the hopes of something he's hiding in his pockets were to fall out. Maxwell squirmed in his grasp.
"What are you hiding or concealing in your clothes, you little punk." said Warden Wrath annoyed.
"I got nothing on me!" snapped Maxwell.
"Hey Warden Winny, what's big, tall, annoying and about to take a swing?" asked Eda.
As Warden Wrath stopped shaking Maxwell, he turned to look at Eda and she took her staff and swung it at the large man, brutally smacking him in the face, knocking him to the ground while Maxwell was unharmed but he flipped and landed on his feet.
"Nice hit." complimented Maxwell.
"Doing what I can with what I've got." said Eda.
Warden Wrath was slowly getting up as he felt around his mouth and it sounded like he was popping a bone back into place. He spat out a little bit of blood and what looked like a sharp tooth.
"You knocked out a tooth!" said Warden Wrath annoyed.
"Now you don't have to go to the dentist to get your wisdom tooth pulled." joked Eda.
"Ha! Good one, Eda." chuckled King.
Warden Wrath turned to look at Maxwell and growled.
"I'll bet your the fugitive they've spotted." snapped Warden Wrath.
"No I'm not!" argued Maxwell.
"Try telling that to Lilith. She's claimed that you were guilty of unlawful seduction towards her." Warden Wrath argued back.
Hearing such accusations had Maxwell looking mad. Eda was looking mad along with Luz and King. They knew that this meant that Lilith was blaming Maxwell for something she did to him by twisting things around and making it look like Maxwell was the guilty one and not Lilith, they knew that Lilith has lied.
"I did no such thing! While I was in disguise, she thought I was someone she liked, she tried to put the moves on me no matter how many times I told her I wasn't interested, she ripped off my disguise and blamed me for her actions. She's lying!" Maxwell defended.
"A likely story. Maybe we should see whose guilty when I take you down town!" snapped Warden Wrath.
Warden Wrath used his right hand to morph into a mass of tentacles and they rapidly went for Maxwell but Eda was faster as she got in front of Maxwell, held her staff up and an orange like force field appeared in front of them that was even bigger than Warden Wrath himself. This deflected the large man's attempt to grab Maxwell.
"Don't you dare lay a tentacle on my boy!" cried Eda.
Warden Wrath growled in anger as his tentacles from his hand morphed into a huge hammer but he got an idea as he used his foot to slip underneath them and he tripped Eda and Maxwell, causing them to fall on the ground. Before he had time to use his hammer like hand to swing at the two, that's when Maxwell wrapped his hands and arms around Eda and they literally rolled out of the way, causing Warden Wrath's hammer to hit the ground, missing them. Both Eda and Maxwell got up on their feet while they dusted themselves off.
"You tripped a lady? You sir are no gentlemen!" snapped Maxwell.
"What do you care. She's a wanted criminal but I can change all of that if she agrees to rule with me." said Warden Wrath trying to convince Eda to become his lover.
"Dream on, buster!" said Eda rejecting the offer.
He morphed his hand into tentacles and was about to make a grab for Eda but Maxwell pushed her out of the way and instead of Eda being grabbed by the tall and huge male, it was Maxwell who now struggled in Warden Wrath's grasp as he held him in the air with his tentacles wrapped around his body.
"Let him go, now!" snapped Luz.
"Looks like I got two fugitives to take into custody, one being a wanted criminal and the other is an unlawful pervert!" said Warden Wrath.
"Lilith is lying to everyone. She was the one who tried violate him!" defended Luz.
"Whose going to believe a stupid kid, anyway." mocked Warden Wrath.
Eda was still standing but was about to charge after the huge male till Warden Wrath raised his free hand to stop her. Four other guards came out from the nearby bushes as they stood nearby their large male leader.
"Eda, you got some choices. Come quietly and I'll let the monkey live as your both taken in for processing, you refuse, I kill him and you still come with me, or become my lady and I'll let this stupid creature go and we can leave as a power couple!" said Warden Wrath giving her an ultimatum.
"Warden wait, you win." said Maxwell hanging his head down.
Eda, Luz and King were in disbelief but were sensing that something was up. Warden Wrath looked at Maxwell and chuckled.
"What's this you say? The dumb monkey is surrendering? Finally, you're listening to your authority figure." said Warden Wrath smugly. "I didn't even have to spank you."
"Good one, sir!" said one of the guards.
"Warden, there is something I must inform you. Something that could benefit you for later as there's a way that you can gain more power but I'm the only one who knows how you can do it." Maxwell continued.
The large man was curious now. What did Maxwell know that Warden Wrath didn't? He turned his full attention to the boy.
"Oh? And what's that?" asked Warden Wrath curiously.
"I can't say it out loud but I'm going to have to whisper it to you. It's something you'll need to tell the Emperor once I tell you." explained Maxwell.
Warden Wrath pulled Maxwell closer to him as he would listen.
"Closer sir." Maxwell instructed.
He pulled the boy closer and he was within hand shaking distance of the huge man.
"Closer." said Maxwell once more.
"Okay." said Warden Wrath.
He pulled Maxwell up close to his face and Maxwell lifted his head up to face him and he sucked in a big amount of air and suddenly spat out a huge amount of saliva in Warden Wrath's face, causing him to drop Maxwell and the boy was free from his grip. The large male wiped his face off clean.
"Ewwww, human germs from his mouth!" whined Warden Wrath.
"Someone oughta teach you that no woman dates a man who hurts and hates kids and that it's impolite to hit a lady, that also includes tripping them." Maxwell told him.
"I think human males are more annoying than human females." snapped Warden Wrath.
"And if you were an athlete wearing an athletic cup, you would've seen this coming." said Maxwell with a grin.
Maxwell gave a swift, hard kick up into the air and kicked the large male authority figure in his crotch area, causing him to groan in pain and grasped hold of his crotch with his right hand, slightly leaning.
"Looks like someone forgot to wear protection." joked Eda.
"You kicked me in my fucking balls!" shot Warden Wrath.
"You tried to harm a lady." Maxwell argued.
Warden Wrath managed to stand up completely and faced Maxwell as he cracked his knuckles while popping his neck.
"You think you're a better man with the ladies than me?" Warden Wrath snapped.
"After everything I've seen in your mind and how you've treated Eda, how you've treated children, how you've treated people who are different from others, the way you treat innocent people, abusing your power, authority, and how you treat women by placing your hands on them without their permission. You haven't set the bar too high." said Maxwell. "Besides, we were doing just fine and minding our own business till you and your sidekicks over there came along and started harassing and attacking us and made false accusations again us."
In a scream of rage, that's when Warden Wrath had his hand morph back into a fist as he tried to land a punch or more on Maxwell but he dodged them, even deflected some of them while that large man tried to move faster but with his speed quickening, that's when Maxwell was dodging and deflecting faster than him.
"Hold still you stupid monkey so I can nail you!" growled Warden Wrath.
"I don't take requests." said Maxwell taunting him.
He grunted loudly and lifted his leg up to try and do a spinning kick but when he swung his leg and foot across the air, Maxwell leaned back and dodged his kicked successfully. Once both of them were standing on both their feet, the encircled each other in a circle, not taking their eyes off each other.
"Du bist schnell für ein halbes Pint." said Warden Wrath.
"Aber ich bin schneller als du und dein harter Arsch." said Maxwell.
Warden Wrath tried to land more punches and kicks on Maxwell but he kept quickly dodging and deflecting them like he was a martial arts grand master.
"Why would a witch be with a human like you? You humans are so noisy, annoying, loud, stupid, ugly and a witch and human being in a relationship is an abomination!" insulted Warden Wrath.
"The noisiest, loudest, ugliest, dumbest, most annoying abomination is your cruel mistreatment towards innocent people, children and women. Especially my woman." Maxwell shot back.
Maxwell deflected Warden Wrath's next punch as he caught his large fist and with a brute amount of strength, he pushed the oversized man hard and it sent him seven feet away from him. Warden Wrath couldn't believe how strong Maxwell was but looked at him as if he figured something out.
"Are you sure you're a human? No human has strength and speed like that." said Warden Wrath.
"I'm as human as humanity itself." Maxwell replied.
"No way. I've been hearing rumors about you and such power. No human has such power. The only person who possesses such power are three different people. Eda, Lilith and a man that's been M.I.A. for nearly over nine weeks who apparently posed a threat to the Emperor when he stolen something that could amplify, intensify, increase or enhance their magic and their power to a level greater than the Emperor himself." explained Warden Wrath.
The expressions on Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell's faces changed and showed shocked curiosity. This man that Warden Wrath spoke of was sounding like the same mysterious man that Maxwell briefly met and gave him such power. Now Maxwell was starting to grow curious for answers.
"Who is this man?" asked Maxwell.
"That information is classified but maybe if you work something out for me, I can tell you what little we know of this man." Warden Wrath suggested.
Maxwell slowly started to walk towards Warden Wrath but Eda, King and Luz knew that if Warden Wrath knew anything, it would be possible he's lying to Maxwell or that if he knew anything, he'd use it to get to ether Eda or Maxwell.
"Maxie! Don't listen to him, he's trying to fool you!" Eda instructed.
Maxwell didn't listen at first as both him and Warden Wrath were now both within hand shaking distance between each other. Warden Wrath held out his hand for Maxwell to take as if offering him to go with him to let him know what he wanted to know about this mysterious man that he spoke of.
"We'll admit, we don't know much but from what little we do know, we can tell you what you need to know if you come with me and my men and we'll promise to leave Eda and the rest of them alone." Warden Wrath told him.
"Maxie, he's lying." said Luz.
There was a long pause and eventually, Maxwell spoke as a look of anger was seen on his face when he read more of Warden Wrath's mind and found out the truth.
"I got three words for you." said Maxwell clenching his fists.
"And what's that, you country bumpkin?" asked Warden Wrath.
Suddenly, hearing that word again sent a spike of rage in Maxwell and he let out a loud lion like growl that sounded like it could be a roar. Warden Wrath was suddenly sensing his anger but since Maxwell was much faster, he grabbed hold of the large man's arm and suddenly pulled with immense strength and began to flip him up in the air and slammed him on the ground. Maxwell's eyes turned gold and the gold energy like light formed all over his body. Warden Wrath would scream in pain or terror from what Maxwell was doing to him.
"Fuck you, Warden!" yelled Maxwell.
"Ahhhhh, ohhhhhh, ow! Make him stop!" begged Warden Wrath.
"You shouldn't have called him that, Winny." King mocked.
"You falsely imprison innocent people for being themselves, you oppress innocent people, you tried to harm women and children, you mouth off offensive slang towards me, and still, you have the nerve to believe that old crow egg for brains Lilith about her lies, slander and false claims she made about me and try to harm the most beautiful lady whose my woman. She's my woman!" ranted Maxwell.
As Maxwell was about to swing Warden Wrath around to the ground, the large man morphed his hand into tentacles and they wrapped around Maxwell's arms, he landed on his feet and swung Maxwell into the air as the boy was tossed twelve feet into the Warden Wrath quickly removed his mask and hood, his huge mouth that was full of large sharp teeth was revealed, as well as his tiny eyes, which are difficult to see under a hood that he has not yet removed.
"How about some spicy Italian!" said Warden Wrath with a laugh.
He breathed in a lot of air and suddenly let out a breath as he breathed fire out of his mouth that was going towards Maxwell, sending fear and worry towards Eda, King and Luz.
"No!" said the three.
As Maxwell was about to fall from the distance he was tossed up into, he quickly clapped his hands once and a blue light formed on his hands as he made his hands form like they were about to perform a spell.
"I'm more likely in the mood for something frozen. Have some ice cream!" called Maxwell. "Respiro di ghiaccio!"
Maxwell breathed in a lot of air and when he let out a breath, he breathed a lot of ice from his mouth and his ice breath was so strong that it countered Warden Wrath's breath of fire. As Maxwell fell towards the large man, he made one swift move and gave Warden Wrath a powerful kick to his mouth, causing the large male to scream in pain, as he landed on the ground, Maxwell took at swing at him and punch Warden Wrath as hard as he could in the stomach, causing the large male to feel like the breath got knocked out of him. He ducked and spun his leg around on the ground to trip Warden Wrath, causing the large man to fall on the ground while Maxwell reached out to take hold of Warden Wrath's pants and he reached out to pull out his underwear.
"Houston, space mission is ready to go. Ready for launch." joked Maxwell.
That's when both Eda, King and Luz burst out laughing as Maxwell pulled Warden Wrath/s underwear, giving him an intense wedgie as it looked like the large male wore pink underwear as the large male was now groaning in pain from this.
"Ahhh, a wedgie! This brat is giving me a wedgie!" yelled Warden Wrath with a groan of pain.
"This is for all the kids you bullied when you went to school, this is also for all the women you have no respect for and everyone you've hurt and victimized over the years. Hey boys, look at your rough and tough boss now! He's not so tough when he's getting his candy ass kicked by a kid, is he!" Maxwell ranted.
"Ha! Warden Wrath is getting a wedgie!" laughed Eda, King and Luz.
"Ahhhh my ass! When I get my hands on you!" threatened Warden Wrath.
Maxwell eventually stopped pulling on the large man's underwear and it appeared that Warden Wrath was down for the count. He wasn't moving and Maxwell felt victorious.
"Yeah baby! That's my Maxie and he knocked out the warden!" cheered Eda.
Maxwell let out a loud, victorious lion like roar as he breathed fire out of his mouth into the air. The guards looked like they were showing fear or shock towards Maxwell and his power and strength that took down their leader. Maxwell turned to Eda, King and Luz as they looked thrilled that Maxwell took down Warden Wrath in order to fight for their honor, especially Eda's honor.
"Mama said knock you out!" said Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell in unison.
Eda and Maxwell formed one fist and gave each other a couple of fist bumps. But what Maxwell didn't see was that Warden Wrath getting up and he looked like he was rapidly morphing his hands into huge axes. The smiles on Eda, King and Luz's faces turned to alarm.
"Heads up!" warned Eda.
In a very fast motion, Maxwell turned to face Warden Wrath and they heard a loud, metallic clank as they suddenly saw that Maxwell had them foot long claws from his knuckles, using them to block Warden Wrath's axe like hands.
"I'm going to make you eat your words, you stupid southerner cowboy." insulted Warden Wrath.
As Maxwell struggled to keep the large man's axes from trying to hit and cut him, he had an idea come to mind as static electricity started to spark from his hands and they were looking like blue colored static electric impulses.
"Hey Warden Wrath? Guess who forgot to pay his electric bill?" said Maxwell with a grin.
The static electricity from Maxwell's hands suddenly expanded from his hands to Warden Wrath's whole body, sending an extreme amount of pain through the large man's body from being shocked beyond belief from Maxwell's static electrical shocks that he used to tase the big man like a person shocking an attacker with a taser gun. Warden Wrath yelled in pain loudly.
"Whoa! The Warden is in for a shock." Eda joked.
Eventually, Maxwell's static shocks stopped and the Warden Wrath's hands turned into limp tentacles as he stood and swayed as he let out groan of pain, coughing up a bit of smoke and smoke was emitting from Warden Wrath's body. Maxwell blew a bit of air towards Warden Wrath and he fell backwards to the ground.
"Suck on that, Warden." insulted Maxwell.
The guards quickly came to their defeated leader and began to grab hold of him and dragged him away as them guards dragged Warden Wrath away as they showed a bit of fear at the fact that Maxwell was very powerful and strong. They disappeared into the distance from the direction they came from. Eda, King and Luz pulled Maxwell in for a hug and he hugged them back.
"You took him down better than we did." said King.
Both Eda and Luz kissed Maxwell on his cheeks which caused him to blush deeply with a grin.
"Wait till them guards or anyone working for the Emperor find out that Warden Winny got beat by a kid. He'll be the laughing stock among his men." said Eda with a chuckle.
"He'll go from Warden Wrath to Warden Wuss." joked King.
Suddenly, Maxwell sensed something was near and he followed the source while he took Eda's hand, than Eda took Luz's hand and King followed. They saw the blue light trail still directing them to where they needed to find the flower and it eventually lead them to a field of the said flowers they spoke of. They all smelled the scent of cherries in the air and knew they found what they were looking for.
"We found them!" said Luz thrilled.
Luz pulled out her backpack and handed it to Maxwell as he volunteered to gather plenty of them flowers, he gathered them and placed them in the bag. The field of them flowers was small but Maxwell only gathered enough for what they'd use them for. He placed them in the bag and zipped up the bag's opening. He handed it to Luz as she placed it on her back as she carried it.
"Guys, hope you can forgive me for the swearing back there when Warden Wrath and I were brawling it out." said Maxwell blushing as he felt slight shame.
"Trust me when I say this, Maxie, that warden was asking for it when you whooped his fat behind." said Eda showing understanding. "But just so you know, if you use that language in the house or in public anywhere when you and me are not taking down bozos like Warden Wrath, than that's when you shouldn't use such language."
Maxwell nodded as if showing he understood as he was being submissive.
"Yes ma'am." said Maxwell showing obedience.
Eda wrapped one arm around Maxwell's body in a one armed hug.
"Do you guys think he was lying about a third person showing such power like he said? This person has been missing since the mysterious man that gave me such power had first met me and disappeared. Over nine weeks ago? That's the same amount since I first and last saw him." said Maxwell showing some sadness in wanting to know who the man spoke of.
"He's probably lying to get you to obey him. But if he was telling the truth, which I doubt, than he probably doesn't know anymore than he let on." said Eda attempting to console him. "If we are to find out who this mysterious man is, we'll find out on our own."
"You keep having visions of him so he's probably still out there but in hiding. So we'll find him before the Emperor and his coven does." Luz reassured.
"I hope so." said Maxwell feeling better. "But at least we got what we came for."
"Agreed." said Eda, King and Luz in unison.
As they hugged each other, they all walked off in the direction of home. But little do they know is that back at the Emperor's castle, the four guards and Warden Wrath were explaining themselves on the failed mission to the Emperor as the Emperor himself wasn't happy that they got beat by Maxwell, a kid.
"You got beat by a child? A human child!" said the Emperor sharply.
"He knocked out the Warden, sir." said one of the guards.
"This human has the same power as that male fugitive that stolen that magic enhancer. It's possible this man whose M.I.A. crossed paths with the human boy and transferred his power to him." said another guard.
The Emperor growled and banged his fist on the wall, forming a small hole.
"An abomination! If this human develops the ability to even defeat me. Than my plans are as dead as a thousand corpses." said the Emperor.
"Emperor, what if I were to try and bring him in to you? You want the power he possesses, maybe I could try to capture him? From what our men have said, he's against anyone who says or does any sort of harm to an innocent lady. I'm a lady, maybe I can fool him into a trap." suggested Kikimora.
"I doubt that'll work. He stood up to me twice, I'm a lady as well but it's thanks to my sister that he's developed some confidence to stand up to those who push him or anyone he cares about around." Lilith said doubting Kikimora's plan.
"Lilith, while you may have failed twice, maybe I can try get some results. But if I do this, you'll have to take my place till I get back." said Kikimora sounding condescending.
Lilith had a look of disgust on her face as she shook her head and crossed her arms in disappointment.
"I'm really starting to hate that human male. He's just as annoying as my dear sister. I didn't think that was possible." groaned Lilith.
"Kikimora, you will try your hand at attempting to capture this human male, if you capture Eda as well, you'll have taken care of two problems." the Emperor chimed in.
"Yes sir." said Kikimora.
Lilith took off to the conformatorium in a huff as she spoke with Daston, Maxwell's father. She informed him on the progress of trying to capture Maxwell for what the two of them were working on, hearing the failure to capture even Maxwell from what she told him had Daston screaming out swear words.
"Damn it! That little brat! What the fuck is wrong with everyone here? Do you witches have any idea what your doing or are you too busy fucking yourselves with wands shaped like sex toys to even make any progress?" ranted Daston.
"We're trying, believe me. I've already been scolded about this by the Emperor. Apparently, that child must be getting stronger or smarter or my sister is working with him and they're stronger together." Lilith said trying to calm him. "It's possible that another witch transferred his power into your son and that's why he's proving difficult to capture, that, and my sister is helping him."
"Whose this man that transferred his hocus pocus inside him?" said Daston sharply.
Lilith paused and looked like she had no clue but only had very little to say about the subject.
"We don't know. Even Warden Wrath doesn't know. All we know is this man is tall, muscular, he stolen quite a lot of magic from the storage that we keep and reserve for the Emperor. We keep it in the magical storage reserve while it's inside a palisman. He stolen what appears to be half of the reserves and it's possible he took the power to enhance it. He must have transferred it inside his body but than transferred it into your son's body. That would explain what your son is now able to evade capture like my sister does." explained Lilith while she theorized. "Kikimora is going to try and capture him."
"You mean that short little bitch that's shorter than you? What's she going to do? Spoil him rotten and treat him like a baby and adopt him? Shorty looks more like a nanny." insulted Daston.
"Don't underestimate her! She's quite powerful, strong and persuasive." said Lilith defending Kikimora.
"Well, if shorty fails, than I know two stupid bitches I'm going to give an ass beating to." threatened Daston.
"Just so you know in case you forgotten. We're still under the ever lasting oath." Lilith reminded.
"Fine! I'm going to have to at least talk to her about what she should do. But first, I need a light for my cigar." demanded Daston.
Lilith had used her fire magic to light up his cigar while she brought in Kikimora to talk with Daston. Kikimora was surprised to see a human male adult in a cell but Lilith explained everything to her which had her now understanding the situation. Both Kikimora and Daston talked about what to do in this situation in capturing Maxwell but even with what he told the short female demon, what he told her even got her wide eyed with shock. But Kikimora wanted to at least try out her idea first and save what Daston suggested as a last ditch effort. Kikimora had an idea forming on how to capture Maxwell and possibly Eda but what idea did she have in mind and what was she about to do?
