Hours have gone by since the defeat of Grom and Eda, King, Luz, Willow, Gus, Maxwell, Amity, Edric, Emira and everyone else was all back at Hexside as they were in the gym. Plenty of people were dancing, socializing or chatting with each other. King, Luz, Willow, Gus, Maxwell, Amity, Edric and Emira were hanging out nearby as they were happy to know that Maxwell and Luz were alright and that the Grom demon was forever dead.
"Luz, there's something we all have to say to you." said King showing a remorseful look.
"I'm listening." said Luz giving her attention to them.
"Luz, when you were taking on the Grom demon at first, or when you suggested to help Amity the way you did. I'm sorry I laughed at you, I'm sorry I doubted you at first, I'm sorry I didn't say something sooner about defeating Grom once and for all when you battled against it, I'm sorry for anything I've said or did that wasn't very supportive towards you, I should've been supportive from the start and I should've helped from the start. You could've been hurt or worse and I should've been supportive when you felt nervous and afraid at that time." said King apologetically. "I should've never said or did anything against you at the time when you needed me. I also should've helped you during the whole thing when I was trying to rule the teenagers like ruling a world, I should've said or did something to stop you or Amity from battling Grom and prevent you two from getting hurt or worse. I also should've said something to Bump about it to prevent it all from happening. I should've said how you could defeat Grom once and for all when you battled it, I should've said something about it sooner, not later on afterwards. I didn't mean to make it seem like I cared about someone else more than you, I both care about you and Maxie and love both of you equally the same."
"I'm sorry that I had you battle Grom for me when I was chosen to battle it. I should've fought my own battle, regardless of my worst fear getting the better of me and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for anything I said that was showing doubt towards you. I should've been more supportive during the whole thing, both at the beginning and later on. I'm sorry I put you in a situation that could've gotten you hurt or worse. I should've battled against Grom ether myself or with you the whole time." said Amity apologizing. "I'm also sorry for making you face any of your fears and I acted like a drill sergeant during the training."
"I'm sorry I didn't do anything to help while I was busy with being one of the emcees at the dance. I should've stepped in and did something to help you during this, I also should've said something to help or be supportive. I should've tried to stop you or Amity from battling against Grom and I should've said something to Bump to stop the whole thing." said Gus showing remorse.
"I'm sorry I also didn't do anything to help you during the whole thing. I should've said or did something to stop both you and Amity from battling Grom to prevent you two from getting hurt or worse. I should've done my part in helping you more during that." said Willow showing remorse.
"I'm sorry for laughing at your list of fears when you showed us the list of them on paper. For one, someone being lactose intolerant isn't funny, being a victim of jerks online isn't funny, laughing at someone's fears isn't funny. And not helping you when you were facing your fears wasn't cool of me or my brother." said Emira.
"I agree. I'm sorry for the same things." Edric chimed in. "I also shouldn't have laughed at your fears for the same reasons that Emira stated."
"Especially when it came to us using our magic to make you face any of the fears, especially when the fear had something to do with Eda." said Edric and Emira in unison. "We should've said or did something to help that wasn't so brutal. We should've been more supportive and should've said or did something of the sort. We should've stepped in to help you fight Grom, just like Amity did when you two fought it. We should've at least stopped you and Amity from battling Grom and should've done something about Bump at the time."
"If it makes you feel any better, Luz? My date and Emira's date stood us both up." said Edric.
Luz felt her heart race from how sweet they all were being towards her. Apologizing to her during the time when it was before, during and after battling Grom. Hearing them all apologize to her had her feeling the love they were showing. She was left smiling.
"Can you forgive us?" said Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric, Emira and King all in unison. "We're sorry."
"You guys are very sweet. I can forgive you guys." said Luz with a grin. "Also, side note, no one deserves to be stood up by their dates."
They all were not only surprised but they felt relieved. They expected Luz to scold them which they felt like they deserved to be yelled at and be given the riot act. But she was being forgiving. They felt better but still surprised.
""I actually thought you were going to be mad at all of us." said Amity looking shocked.
"Well, you guys apologized and you all know never to do any of the listed wrongs ever again. So that's enough for me." said Luz kindly.
"But in case you guys do any of the listed wrongs during Luz's time of something similar, lets just say that you're in for a brutal lecture from ether me or Luz." warned Maxwell.
"Sounds fair." said Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric, Emira and King all in unison.
"Could we, you know?" Amity began. "Hug you?"
Luz motioned her head to have them come over to her.
"Bring it in, you guys." Luz replied.
Both Willow, Gus, Maxwell, Amity, Edric, Emira and King all gathered around Luz to hug her in a group hug, they felt like they really wanted to make it up to Luz this way as they felt that how they were towards her during the whole event of battling Grom was wrong to be that way towards her. But they figured that being brutally lectured if they're to be that way again towards Luz if she was to go through anything like before would mean a brutal lecture or worse is what Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric, Emira and King deserve as a punishment. After hugging Luz for a bit, they released their arms.
"Is there something you guys want to say to Maxie?" said Luz already knowing what they should do.
"Well, first of all, I should apologize for being so stubborn and difficult when you guys tried to help me, and I'm sorry I worried all seven of you when I took off. I should've never told you guys to tell Principle Bump that nasty message when I was angry, I should've never even said those words, people say or do things they don't mean when angry as a bull in a bull fight." said Maxwell apologizing.
"Actually, no, Maxie. You had every right to be angry and with how you felt." said King sympathizing.
"We did only want to help you during this but we probably should've said something to Bump about this sooner. But the whole thing happened faster than you could run at full speed limit." said Luz showing sympathy. "But I agree, language like that, not really a good thing to say, but we know you were just angry and you didn't mean it and we know you mainly directed that at Bump and not at us."
"We know that this dance was your first, and you wanted to let it be a night to remember in a sense that Luz showed me on a few videos she showed me on her phone." said King chiming in. "Although, we all should've done something to prevent the Grom incident from happening, both when Luz and you battled it the way you did."
"I agree. both when Luz and Maxie were battling Grom, we should've said or did something to prevent Luz and Maxie from battling Grom and made Principle Bump do something about Grom once and for all, instead of kids doing that. It would've saved both Luz and Maxie the pain and suffering." said Emira in agreement. "But I'm saying that not because I think you two are too fragile, no, you're not fragile, I'm saying what I said because I don't want you two getting hurt and I don't want you two to suffer because we care about you two and you two proven to us you are strong and brave to take on anything, after seeing how it all went, Maxie has been through enough at the hands of his dad and parents shouldn't hit their kids and they shouldn't yell at them, and Luz didn't want to hurt her mother with what she's really doing and we should've stepped in to make Principle Bump do something about the Grom demon for good and not have any of us kids do that. Kids shouldn't have to go through that, we should've made Bump do something about the Grom demon long time ago and not have any of us innocent kids do that for him."
"But what we're all trying to say is we're all very sorry, both saying that to Luz and Maxie." said Willow kindly.
The rest of them nodded in agreement to it. Both Luz and Maxwell felt relieved to know this but also understood their friends and those who support them were very sorry for any or all negative actions from them.
"You guys at least helped us out when we needed you, but next time if something like this does happen, always remember to do what you should've done to help, that way, you'll avoid a brutal lecture later on from both of us." said Maxwell reminding them.
"We promise." said Willow, Gus, King, Amity, Edric and Emira as they used a finger to cross their hearts.
"You guys want to hug it out?" Maxwell suggested.
"That would be uplifting and it's the right thing to do to support each other." King agreed.
They all agreed as Willow, Gus, King, Amity, Edric and Emira hugged both Luz and Maxwell. They gently patted Luz and Maxwell's backs and rubbed their backs to help comfort them and it was working. The group of the seven kids and one canine demon felt like they all were now feeling better now they've all reconciled and apologized to both Luz and Maxwell and they knew that they should now always help both of them out when both of them are in danger like that, both in the beginning, during and after. After they spent several minutes hugging the two humans, they eventually removed their arms and hands from each other.
"You guys are very sweet." said Luz kindly.
"I agree." said Maxwell.
"There is one thing on both my mind and probably Maxie's mind as well." said Luz.
"What's that?" asked Willow.
"Where's Eda?" asked Luz and Maxwell in unison.
"Oh." they all said.
"She's over there." said King pointing.
They all turned to see where Eda was at and they saw she was standing near the the foot of the seats in the gym. She looked like she was worried, probably worried about Luz and Maxwell but otherwise calm. Maxwell knew that he wanted to dance with Eda but was a bit nervous.
"Any advice on what I should say to her?" said Maxwell nervously.
"My advice, be yourself. Eda's never had a problem with any of us being ourselves, sure, we do get on each others nerves at times but she's always forgiven us and even though she doesn't always show it, she'd find some way to ask us for forgiveness." said Luz.
"Eda may get annoyed by me at times but she's forgiven me lots of times." King chimed in. "Also, I told the Snaggleback to play a special song to set the mood for you and Eda, but only when you two are out there on the dance floor."
They all looked at King as if surprised that he knew something about relationships.
"Which song did you suggest?" asked Luz curiously.
"It's something I once heard Maxie singing but don't worry, it's one of them romantic type of things made for things like ballroom dancing." reassured King.
Maxwell remembered a lot of songs he sung before but knew some of them were romantic. He felt a little at ease for knowing it's going to be a romantic song to set the dancing mood.
"I need something to give me a confidence boost." said Maxwell suggesting it.
Without another word, both Luz, Willow, Amity and Emira came to Maxwell and hugged him in a group hug, sending some comfort and confidence in him and after they hugged him for a minute, this surprised him but he knew they were being supportive. After they released their arms from him. He let out a breath.
"I'm going to do it." said Maxwell.
Maxwell walked off and walked over towards Eda, as he made his way to her, that's when Eda saw him coming over. They both stood in front of each other.
"I see you were waiting for me. Forgive me, a man should never make a lady wait." said Maxwell kindly apologizing.
Eda smiled as she knew that Maxwell apologizing to her is was probably a thing now, especially when he feels guilty about something like if he doesn't like lying to her.
"Still a gentlemen, I see?" said Eda. "You and Luz alright?"
"With you and Luz's friends by our side, we know we're going to be alright as long as we're always together." answered Maxwell.
Maxwell blushed deeply as he cleared his throat.
"Eda, would you do me the honor of being my date to the dance and dance with me?" asked Maxwell trying to look confident.
Maxwell held out his hand for Eda to take it. Eda may have looked calm and confident on the outside but on the inside, she was feeling like she wanted to jump for joy. She smiled and took his hand as she pulled him in close and kissed him on his lips. This left the boy wide eyed but he kissed her back as the two had a romantic kiss, eventually pulling their lips off each other.
"I'll take that as a yes." said Maxwell with a grin.
"Come to mama on the dance floor, big boy." said Eda playfully.
Eda took Maxwell by the hand and they both walked out to the middle of the dance floor and as they were now in the middle of the dance floor, everyone saw the two were getting ready to dance. Suddenly, romantic, blue-eyed soul music was playing and Maxwell saw that Luz, King and Luz's friends gave him a thumbs up and smile. Maxwell looked back at Eda as Maxwell placed one hand on Eda's left side of her waist, he was careful not to let it touch her butt, and his other hand held Eda's hand.
The two began to dance as their dancing style was looking to be quite the romantic moves and romantic styles as it was like slow dancing to ballroom music in an actual ballroom. It looked like they were executing a contemporary dance of sort.
"Pretty light on your feet." said Eda.
"From what you told me and Luz all the time, you still got the moves." said Maxwell.
They continued to dance and eventually they started to do a slow dance as they held onto each other but from what everyone saw, they witnessed that the two were dancing romantically, but started to float in the air as they continued.
"Wow! They're really good." said Amity surprised.
"Just like you and me." said Luz.
Luz and Amity gave each other a one armed hug and King shed a tear at the sight of the romantic dancing between Eda and Maxwell. Luz was the first to notice.
"King, are you crying?" asked Luz.
"No, it just makes me a little emotional seeing two people dance like that." lied King.
King came over to Luz to hug her but Luz picked him up to hug him back and even Amity hugged the young canine demon. As Eda and Maxwell floated in the air while dancing, they looked down and saw they were at least four feet in the air, floating. They held onto each other as they danced into the air and looked at each other.
"How does a young man like you learn to dance like this?" asked Eda with a grin.
"I took dance classes for two years at my old school, and Luz helped me a little when I was rusty." said Maxwell truthfully. "I'd be lying if I said I was born with it."
"My sweet boy can't lie to me even if he tried, can he?" Eda said rhetorically.
"I can not lie to the most beautiful woman I've ever met." replied Maxwell.
They both gave each other a kiss to their lips and every student there let out an adored "Awww" at the sight. Eventually, hours went by and the dance was over. Everyone went home and Maxwell helped teleport both Amity, Edric, Emira, Gus and Willow to their homes, than he teleported both him, Eda and King to the Owl House. They walked through the door that lead to the living room.
"WOOOO! Watch out for these humans! Oh, you did good, kids." said Eda thrilled.
"Especially your boyfriend!" said King in a sing song tone.
"Yeah baby!" said Eda thrilled.
They looked at Maxwell and they saw he was looking out the window for a bit. They grew curious.
"Everything alright, Maxie?" asked Luz.
The boy turned to face them and blushed. They knew something was on his mind from the look on his face.
"I don't want to sound like a bummer to the mood. But I sure wish my mom was still around, especially now, seeing me taking on so many bad guys, finding love, finally making friends, finding out there's something to fight for out there and there are people out there you fight for." said Maxwell looking a bit tired and melancholy. "I may have lost my mother and I don't want to lose anyone else, I actually wonder what my mom would say or feel if she was here and saw what we've all accomplished together."
They could tell that Maxwell's words were leaving him sentimental and they knew he still missed his mother as she's been deceased for so long. They knew that there was something to say to him to help his emotional state.
"Maxie, your mother would be proud of you for all the good you've done, not just for yourself but for others as well." said Luz with encouraging words.
"She might be a little surprised that you're actually dating a witch, but if she's anything like you, I know she'd get used to me." said Eda with a grin.
"She might be a little surprised about this world though. Not gonna lie, but Luz was a bit surprised when she first entered this world and everything in it. But Luz has shown and proven to us she's just as rebellious as even Eda and just as smart too." said King. "You were kind of the same way, maybe a little worse off before you met us, but you were the same way as Luz when you came here and became part of us."
"Your mom would be proud of you no matter what and she'd love you and all of us forever as family." said Luz.
"And family is suppose to love each other no matter what. Even if we have flaws." said Maxwell feeling confident by their words.
They all walked up towards each other and hugged each other. After they felt better in spirits, they eventually released their arms and walked over towards the couch to sit down on it. The door closed as Maxwell snapped his fingers and it closed on it's own. As they took off their shoes, they sat on the couch with Eda sitting in the middle, Maxwell sitting on the left, Luz sitting on the right and King sitting in Luz's lap. Eda wrapped an arm around both Luz and Maxwell.
Maxwell's first dance turned out wonderful, even if he had to fight the Grom demon, he had help from his friends during that. Now that the Grom demon was forever dead, he knows everyone feels better knowing that no one has to deal with the Grom demon anymore, he got to ask Eda out to be his date and got to have the romantic dance with her and both Eda and Maxwell were both Grom king and queen and Maxwell felt like he could take on anything and anyone with how he was feeling like he's on top of the world. This was one of his best nights. But there was two things on his mind. One, he didn't tell Luz that he had a talk with Willow, Gus, Edric, Emira, King and Eda about apologizing to Luz for what they apologized to her for, he felt like he knew they had to do that because it did bother him a little about how they were doubtful of Luz at first when she took on Grom and he knew they shouldn't have been mean or doubtful towards Luz during the time she took on Grom and that he had to talk to them to let them know that while doubting her and not being too supportive of her at first was wrong and that they should've stopped Luz from fighting Grom and made sure Principle Bump did something about the Grom demon once and for all and not have an innocent kid do it as he knew that was something no kid should ever have to go through, he knew that they shouldn't have doubted Luz and they shouldn't have been so grim or harsh with her at first when she took on the demon and that they shouldn't have said or did anything that made Luz feel bad or afraid or nervous during the time they tried helping her or when she was taking on the Grom demon, he knew that they had to apologize to her for all of that, regardless if they meant it or not. Both Eda, King, Edric, Emira, Willow, Gus and Amity agreed with Maxwell that they should've been more supportive and protective towards Luz during that event in her life and they understood that they had to apologize to Luz and make it up to her by being heartfelt in their apologies to her which now that the apologized to Luz and promised to be more supportive and sensitive towards her if she was to go through anything like that again. And two, he thought about his mother as he felt like his mother would be proud of him for who he is. As the night went on, both Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell fell asleep on the couch together.
There was now a photo album called "Grom Memories" and there was photos of the kids and others having a good time. Some posed for photos with their dates, some of their friends would photobomb the pictures as a joke, some photos showed the students were hugging both Luz and Maxwell for not just helping them defeat the Grom demon once and for all, but also to apologize to them for anything they've said or did to them that was wrong of them to say or do to them during the times both of them fought the Grom demon and they looked really sorry from the looks on their faces, than more pictures showed Luz and Maxwell hugging them as they hugged them back as well. There were more photos that showed pictures of Eda and Maxwell posing for photos, even one or two of them kissing, than there was a picture of Luz and Maxwell being funny, than the last couple of photos showed a group picture of more of their friends, and the last picture was a group picture of Eda, King, Luz, Maxwell, Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric and Emira all in a group photo together as they smiled while Eda gave Maxwell a kiss to his cheek which that got him to really smile.
