After the weekend was over, during the last day of the weekend, both Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell spent the last day of the weekend relaxing any stress away. They felt better after spending the night in Eda's room which Eda warmed up to the idea.
Maxwell felt like he was recovering from his emotional meltdown. King and Hooty succeeded in making Maxwell laugh, Luz's motherly instincts would kick in and make sure that he was alright physically and emotionally, as did Eda did the same as Luz. They even found out that Maxwell even had the ability to fly in the air, with wings and without wings on his back.
"So he can actually fly without sprouting wings?" said King surprised.
"Maybe he just needed to think of happy thoughts." Luz innocently joked.
"Go, Maxie, go!" cheered Eda.
"I'm free as a bird!" cried Maxwell happily.
As Maxwell eventually stopped flying and levitated safely to the ground, he was greeted with a group hug from Eda, Luz and King. He hugged them back as they felt like things were alright from how Maxwell was showing emotional recovery.
As the new week started, that's when Eda was escorting both Luz and Maxwell to Hexside as they flew there on Eda's staff. As they made it, Eda and Luz were still a little worried about Maxwell yet Eda was also worried about Luz as well when they all saw a lot of blue and gold flags decorated around the school grounds, there was even a big blue banner above the school's front entrance which had the words "Go Get'em Banshees" in gold lettering on the banner. Some fire works went off into the air. They made a safe landing on the school ground with both Luz and Maxwell getting off the staff.
"So this grudgby is a sport?" asked Maxwell looking like he didn't understand.
"You know it." answered Eda. "Ah, grudgby season is the best. You know, I used to play, back in my gory days."
"Don't you mean glory days?" said Luz and Maxwell in unison.
Eda smiled at the mentioning of it.
"Well, that too. I was unstoppable on the field. I had the best moves and the best cheats." said Eda with a proud grin.
"Is it normal that this feels like Déjà vu all over again?" said Luz.
"Did you guys talk about this before?" asked Maxwell curiously.
The two looked at Maxwell and knew that he didn't know anything about grudgby or the fact that they spoke about it before.
"We did, you could say that last time we had an encounter with grudgby, it did have some bumps in the road but all was good." said Eda explaining. "Luz, I'm sorry for what I said before about you. You may have a goody goody attitude, but your friends seem to like that about you, even me, sure, I might get annoyed by it at times, but your goody goody attitude does seem to be growing on me."
Luz smiled and came over to Eda to hug her, Eda may have been showing wide eyed expression to the hugging, but she allowed Luz to hug her as she hugged her back. After they released their arms from each other, that's when Luz pulled King out from her hoodie as she placed him on Eda's staff as he was starting to wake up.
"Hard to believe I was the star player of grudgby." said Eda.
Hearing that Eda was the star player of the sport had Maxwell let out a loud cough and he smiled while blushing. They all took notice as if this was all still new to him.
"So you were the star player?" said Maxwell feeling his heart race a bit.
"Big time." said Eda blushing as she admitted it.
Maxwell blushed as deep as he could while a smile formed on his face.
"Qué mujer!" said Maxwell proudly.
He walked over to Eda and even Maxwell pulled Eda in for a hug and he planted his soft lips to hers. Eda smiled and kissed him back as she knew that the young human male learning that she was the star player of grudgby has him feeling serenaded. After they took a minute to kiss each other, they eventually pulled their lips off each other in a loud pop and Maxwell joined Luz's side. Luz gave King a kiss before she too was about to leave.
"Bye, King, you little snoozers." said Luz sweetly.
"You two, watch out for each other." Eda instructed.
"You got it!" said Luz and Maxwell in unison.
As King was now fully awake, he looked around and looked back at Eda.
"Did I miss anything? I heard you and the kids talking and suddenly heard lips smacking. Were you kissing the kids like a mama?" joked King.
"You do know your soft belly button is sticking out and it means the next joke you tell will result you in being tickle tortured, right? And I know that your belly is the most sensitive part of your body." Eda playfully warned. "I'm gonna tickle you for fun till you admit you like it."
"I'll stop." said King showing mercy.
King would started to quickly scurry inside Eda's hair as he was able to fit in there like it had a secret compartment in there that was made for carrying someone inside it.
"Two things on my mind. Ugh. Eda, when was the last time you cleaned up in here?" groaned King as he pulled out a bag of union rings and a rat as if he was cleaning out trash. "Also, you think Luz and Maxie will be alright at school? You remember last time when it was grudgby season. I didn't like that three eyed pink girl bullying Luz and her friends, and I don't want that to happen again, especially Maxwell and Luz."
"I did talk to Principle Dweebus about that and I did have him quivering in his shoes. But if it happens to Luz and her friends again, and if it happens to Maxie, than Principle Dorkus will get an earful from me." said Eda reassuring King. "No one messes with my humans or her friends."
Eda watched Luz and Maxwell going inside the school before she flew off on her staff as both her and King looked back one more time, feeling worried about Luz and Maxwell.
"Please don't let anything bad happen to my humans." said Eda hopefully.
Eda and King both were worried about Luz and Maxwell as they remembered what happened last time grudgby season came along and they talked to Principle Bump about last time to make sure that Boscha didn't hurt Luz or her friends ever again. They now know that grudgby season was back and they were worried about Luz and her friends going through this again, and even worried about Maxwell going through another painful situation. They didn't know who to feel worried for most, Luz or Maxwell.
