As an hour went by. The day at Hexside seemed to be doing alright for Luz, Maxwell, Willow, Gus and Amity. Some students talked about grudgby and other subjects in their lives which was to be expected as it was grudgby season.
The first few classes went well and as Luz and Maxwell were doing so well at their classes with their friends, it felt like everything was doing well for everyone. Boscha had been walking around and had a smug smile on her face.
"Hello, Hexside! Your star has arrived. Groveling line starts here." said Boscha smugly.
Boscha saw that other students weren't immediately running up to her to worship her and her status like she expected. Her smugness faded and turned into curiosity.
"Something's not right. Someone as popular as me usually has everyone rushing up to me during grudgby season to even meet me." said Boscha confused.
She saw other students were looking like they were all in a good mood from the smiles on their faces in the hallway. She even saw a lot of the female students looking like they were fawning over a hot young guy. Boscha walked up to a few students nearby.
"Hey you, what's going on? Aren't we talking about grudgby or what?" asked Boscha.
"Sure we are." said a male student not noticing her.
"But that human, Maxwell. He's so sweet." said a female student. "He helped me with my books when I was having more to carry today."
Three female students were smiling as they spoke of Maxwell. Boscha remembered Maxwell from her last encounter with him and she felt like she was still burning mad about the situation.
"He healed me of my broken arm with that healing magic." said another female student with a grin.
"What a gentleman." said three female students dreamily.
Boscha was surprised they were talking about Maxwell and fawning over him and that they were not worshiping her.
"He's a pretty cool guy for a human, just like Luz." said a male student nearby.
Boscha kept hearing a lot of people talking about Maxwell and not her. She heard them talk about grudgby here and there but she kept seeing and hearing others talking about good things involving Maxwell.
"The poetry he speaks of is so deep." said a male student.
"He gave me a huge sandwich when I forgot my lunch at home, he's the sweetest." a female student said.
"I actually wonder how he killed the Grom demon forever? He didn't really say how he did it." said a male demon student.
Boscha kept seeing and hearing them all mentioning good things about Maxwell and she felt a tinge of jealously growing within her. She shown an expression on her face that wasn't pleased. There was three other girls that were with her but they too were looking as though they were sensing something they didn't feel good about but they felt different about what Boscha felt, they didn't let her know that.
"Speaking of which, where is that stupid farm boy?" snapped Boscha.
"Still not learning and not growing up yet, are you, Boscha?" came a girls voice.
She turned to see it was Amity who approached Boscha and her posse. Boscha was surprised to see Amity approaching her.
"What happened to your leg? You were still in the cast." said Boscha.
"Maxwell healed me." answered Amity.
"Goody two shoes, he's nothing but a dumb hick." snapped Boscha.
"Oh, please! He may be human, Boscha, but he's got two things you don't. A heart and a soul." said Amity in defiance. "You know, I used to be like you, Boscha, obsessed with status, challenging my competition. But I grew up. When will you?"
Amity walked off while a crowd of students heard what Amity said and were laughing at Boscha's expense. This had Boscha feeling angry.
"Oh, this is not gonna fly." said Boscha looking annoyed.
It wasn't long till they all started to hear what sounded like music in the hallways, it sounded like drums playing and as the drums were playing louder and getting to a faster beat. It sounded like pop rock music playing and Boscha, her posse, and other students followed the source of the music and they reached somewhere to another hallway and the music sounded like exciting jungle music and once they find the source of the music, Boscha saw that the pop rock music was coming from somewhere in the center of the school's hallways. There, she saw a lot of the students, mainly a lot of female students, were gathered around to see Maxwell while Luz, Willow and Gus were near him while Amity was watching from a short distance.
"What the." said Boscha looking shocked.
Maxwell had black sunglasses on with black lenses while it looked like he had used a spell to make instruments play on their own. They were all seeing Maxwell singing and he was levitating off the floor and flying into the air, he didn't have wings on his back but he had gold light shining from around him. His singing voice was sounding like it was true, pure and beautiful as the music was sounding beautiful.
"Put your faith in what you most believe in. Two worlds, one family. Trust your heart, let fate decide to guide these lives we see"
Everyone was feeling like they were seeing the most popular person at school was giving a musical performance. A lot of the female students were smiling, almost fainting as Maxwell's singing only got more powerfully beautiful.
"A paradise untouched by man. Within this world blessed with love. A simple life, they live in peace. Softly tread the sand below your feet now. Two worlds, one family. Trust your heart, let fate decide to guide these lives we see"
As Maxwell sang and flew around in the air, he would lower himself to the floor as he was standing on his feet while everyone was entertained, amused, a lot of the girls were feeling like they heard a touching song the touched their hearts. The music sounded so beautiful that a lot of the students were starting to dance.
"Beneath the shelter of the trees. Only love can enter here. A simple life, they live in peace"
As he continued to sing, and flew in the air a bit, he snapped his fingers and gold silhouettes of both what looked like a woman and a small child were forming as they looked like they were frolicking around. It looked like the gold silhouettes were of Maxwell's mother and himself as a little boy.
"Raise your head up. Lift high the load. Take strength from those that need you"
They saw the silhouettes looking like they were bonding like a parent and child should. As the music continued and Maxwell's singing continued, everyone seemed to feel the emotion of the music.
"Build high the walls, build strong the beams. A new life is waiting but danger's no stranger here"
The music sounded like rapid drum beats while it also sounded like jungle music that sounded like the type of music that meant danger. The silhouettes looked as though they were running from something, both of them were holding onto each others hands but as the music eventually slowed and played the soft sounding pop rock, the students felt the powerful grip of the emotions the music had as the silhouette of the woman now showed what looked like the two silhouettes hands were both trying to hold onto each other but the lady's hand disappeared and it showed the silhouette of the boy, alone, shedding a tear as if suffering a loss. Even Maxwell showed a tinge of sadness. The silhouette of the boy shown that he grew up alone, some of the female students shed a tear.
"No words describe a mother's tears. No words can heal a broken heart. A dream is gone, but where there's hope"
As the music continued and Maxwell's singing only got louder and more powerful as it shown the silhouette of the boy now a teenager, running from danger and bumped into the silhouettes of what looked like Eda, Luz, King, Willow, Gus and Amity. It looked as though they took the boy with them and looked like they were interacting with them like a family. It even shown the silhouette of Eda and the boy fighting bad people and later on, shown them dancing romantically and pulling themselves in for a kiss.
"Somewhere something is calling for you. Two worlds, one family. Trust your heart, let fate decide to guide these lives we see-e-e-e-e"
The music got louder and the drums played louder. The music and the floating instruments eventually slowed down while the silhouettes of Eda and the boy were shown holding onto each other, kissing each other romantically while the silhouettes of Luz, King, Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric and Emira stood there as if watching and feeling proud that they saw two people finding love. The second the music stopped and the instruments stopped playing, the silhouettes disappeared and they formed the face of a lion and both Maxwell and the lion roared powerfully, leaving everyone surprised to see such a thing as if they were seeing a heroic act being performed. As the silhouette of the lion disappeared from when Maxwell snapped his fingers. That's when everyone was cheered and applauded and Luz came closer to Maxwell, pulling him in for a hug and he hugged her back.
"Maxwell rules!" cheered a few students.
"Bless all your hearts!" said Maxwell proudly.
Suddenly, before anyone could continue, the school bell screamed and everyone knew that it meant the next class was about to start. Luz, Maxwell, Willow, Gus, Amity and everyone else were heading for class.
"Wow! Maxwell has to be the coolest guy around." said a female student nearby.
"It wouldn't surprise me if he became the most popular guy in school." said another female student.
Hearing those words only made Boscha angry and her jealousy only got worse, she formed fists and cracked her knuckles.
"Wait till I'm done with that stupid country bumpkin." said Boscha with an evil grin.
