Days have gone by since Maxwell and his friends stood up to Boscha and Boscha looked like she was going to be having her punishment last a while. Two weeks suspension from Hexside, benched from playing grudgby for the entire season that year and her parents were informed of it all. It felt like a satisfying way to get back at Boscha, even though Maxwell didn't like having to report her, he knew it had to be done.

During one of the days during the week. Maxwell was talking to Amity as he wanted to thank her for showing him how to play grudgby in order to help him with his situation which Amity was grateful that she was there to help him and his friends.

"Amity, there's something I might as well let you know." said Maxwell looking hesitant.

"Is Luz alright?" asked Amity curiously.

"Yes, but that's not the only thing on my mind." answered Maxwell.

Amity started to wonder if this was a serious issue he was going to bring up or if he knew something that concerned her. She began to listen to him in case it was both.

"Please don't be mad at me but when you gave me permission to delve into your mind. I saw more of what I originally intended." said Maxwell looking nervous.

Amity blushed, could he know about her feelings towards Luz or could he know about something else that was more personal than that? She didn't know.

"What did you see?" said Amity trying to appear calm.

"Well, I did see that your past wasn't easy, your parents were not the easiest people at times and I understand how you feel about it. Even though thanks to Luz's positive influence, it's changed you for the better." Maxwell began.

Amity felt some bit of comfort cushioning her nervousness but she knew that probably wasn't all of what he had to say. Maxwell looked at her as he tried to show as much compassion as he could.

"I know how you feel about Luz." Maxwell finally told her.

Amity blushed deeper and knew that Maxwell knows about her feelings towards Luz now. She shown a bit of alarm.

"Does anyone else know? Does Luz know?" asked Amity looking like she was on edge.

"No, I didn't tell anyone or Luz." answered Maxwell. "But please don't be mad at me. I never meant to delve into your personal life or your personal business. What ever goes on your personal life or what goes on in your mind, it's none of my business. I just don't want you to be mad at me."

The way how Maxwell was showing he really meant that he was sorry and never meant to butt into Amity's personal life had the young female witch feeling a sense of comfort that Maxwell hasn't said anything about how she feels about Luz but also seeing how sweet Maxwell was being about this as it really did bother him about how he never meant to find out anything personal about her. She felt not anger and no hostility. She walked up to Maxwell and placed her hand on his chest where his heart should be, trying to calm him of his fear. She than pulled him in for a hug in her arms, causing him to feel surprised with a sense of consolation.

"I'm glad you didn't tell her." Amity told him in his ear. "I'm not mad at you. I'm kind of relieved to be honest."

Maxwell was feeling a sense of relief at this point. He knew that Amity has shown times when she was cold and angry in the past which was before she turned good. But seeing her showing compassion had him feeling relieved. She shown her face to him and released her arms from him.

"I'm kind of relieved that someone I care about as much as I care about Luz knows about it and is showing understanding. I've been keeping it to myself for so long." said Amity also feeling relieved.

"I promise I won't say a word to anyone. If your having those sort of feelings towards Luz, than the only person who can tell her is you." said Maxwell kindly. "Your secret is safe with me like Fort Knox."

"What's Fort Knox?" asked Amity looking clueless.

"It's an army post back in the human realm. It's also got multiple resources there that they use to help out their workers, their families and civilians." Maxwell explained. "As the old saying goes. Safer than Fort Knox, meaning if there's anything you want to keep safe there, no enemy will get to it because it's also kept under armed guard."

It took Amity a minute to take that in as she had limited knowledge about humans and their world. She learned a little bit from what Luz or Maxwell told her but she was still learning as she went along.

"Sounds interesting. If that means my secret is safe with you, than I'm relieved and I'm grateful." said Amity relieved.

They hugged each other one more time as they would know that this little secret was going to be kept between them.

Later on during the week. Somewhere at the Emperor's castle. Lilith was looking at the stained glass window of Emperor Belos.

"I haven't forgotten what you've promised me. I will bring you, my sister and that male human who has such power must be growing stronger. I will bring them to you, Emperor Belos." said Lilith looking at the stained glass window.

"Then why the delay?" came a female's voice.

Lilith turned around and was surprised to see it was Kikimora.

"Uh...Kikimora!" said Lilith surprised.

"The Day of Unity is fast approaching and other teams have bound many rogue witches to covens and yet, The Owl Lady along with her human lover still roams free. Are you...protecting them?" said Kikimora sensing doubt in Lilith.

Lilith felt dread but didn't show it.

"Rest assured, Kiki. I have everything under control." said Lilith snapping her fingers.

When she snapped her fingers was when the guards approached upon command.

"Today, we capture Eda and her unlawful pervert of a human lover, once and for all." said Lilith showing a determined yet cold look.

Meanwhile, at the Owl House

It was morning and Hooty was managing to take down both Lilith and her guards with ease. Even though Hooty didn't have arms and legs like a human, he was proving to be quite skilled in battle as he took Lilith and her guards down, many of them on the ground, panting and some of them appeared to be knocked out. Eda was inside as she wore a yellow scarf around her neck, she was watching Hooty from the window through gold binoculars. She placed them on a coat hanger nearby with a grin.

"Hooty! Uh! You're a thorn in my side but you always dig your way into my heart." said Eda with a grin.

"Eda?" came Maxwell's voice.

She turned to see Luz and Maxwell walked into the living room. They both saw a cauldron stirring something in it on it's own. Luz was intrigued by what's brewing in Eda's cauldron.

"Oooo...magic s'ghetti." said Luz as she reached out to touch the cauldron.

"Luz, I wouldn't." warned Maxwell.

Luz stopped in time to listen to Maxwell.

"Why? Too hot?" asked Luz curiously.

"It's not for eating. I heard Eda talking about it earlier and she's confirmed it's not for eating." said Maxwell blushing.

"Maxie, were you eavesdropping?" asked Eda.

"Yes, but I never meant to. Curiosity got the better of me." said Maxwell truthfully. "That, and I once saw a witch teaching some kids how to make what your brewing there which was around the time when we were at the covention."

They all looked at Maxwell as if wondering if he saw how this person made what was being brewed in the cauldron.

"By the way, what is in that cauldron. This magic s'ghetti. I only saw a person brewing it once but I never heard much about what it was suppose to be." said Maxwell looking curious.

"That s'ghetti is Witch's Wool. It repels powerful spells. Every witch worth their salt has a cloak made from this stuff." explained Eda.

As Luz stared at it adoringly, blushing and light was lighting up in her eyes.

"I'm worth salt...I want cloak!" said Luz as she tried to touch it.

"Luz, I wouldn't." warned Maxwell. "Sorry Luz, but something tells me that Eda's making this for a reason."

"One, Maxie's right about one thing. Sorry Luz. Also, easy, kid! With the Emperor's goons at my doorstep, I need this for protection, that'll also apply to both you, Maxie, and King. And trust me, those goons, they have really stepped up their attacks lately." Eda told them.

Both Luz and Maxwell stared at Eda intensely as if one of them suspected why the Emperor was so desperate to capture Eda.

"I think I finally understand why the Emperor wants you so badly. He's got the hots for you, doesn't he?" said Luz jokingly.

Maxwell felt a rage kick into him as he growled like a real lion.

"If Emperor Walking-Dead so much as tries to take Eda. All I got to say to him is back off! She's my witch." said Maxwell defiantly.

"I probably shouldn't have made that joke." said Luz blushing.

Maxwell reached out to place his hand on Luz's back to reassure her.

"Actually, we don't know what the Emperor wants with Eda, other than possibly wanting to force her to join a coven. But if Eda doesn't want to join a coven, she doesn't have to." said Maxwell siding with Eda while reassuring Luz.

"One, the Emperor doesn't have the hots for me. Emperor Belos wants to control all wild magic through his coven system. He ordered my capture years ago because I refuse to fall in line." said Eda looking annoyed.

"And he won't stop until he's got you..." said Luz drooping her head sadly.

Eda could see that this worried Luz. She even saw that Maxwell was wide eyed and feeling fear like the time he had a panic attack when he saw Eda in her cursed form when he panicked about what could happen to Eda, not wanting her to leave him. She walked over to them and had a word of comfort.

"Awww... don't sound so worried. I'm a master escape artist! The only thing that can slow me down is my curse and that hasn't bothered me for weeks. That potion Maxie had gotten me is still good for another three weeks." said Eda looking optimistic and trying to comfort them.

Their comfort and optimism was short lived when they saw feathers pop out from Eda's arms. They all had a look of alarm.

"Uh oh." said Eda.

They saw Eda transforming into her beast, curse like form, letting out loud shrieks as both Luz and Maxwell looked on in horror.

"King!" called Luz and Maxwell.

King walked into the living room and upon seeing Eda transforming into the owl beast form of hers, he let out a high pitched scream.

"Get the elixir! Now!" instructed Luz and Maxwell.

Everything Eda saw faded until she was in a silver like void. But than it transformed into what looked like a bedroom. She turned to see her teenage self sleeping soundly in her bed. She let out a sigh as if she knew there was regret. She saw a light shine from behind her as the door to her bedroom door slowly opens to show the shadow of the mysterious person who cursed her. She started to look annoyed by this as she walked over towards this shadow like figure.

"You know...I'm getting a little tired of this game...So, why don't you just show me your face?" Eda dared as she reached out to try and grab the figure by the arm.

As she reached out towards the figure, that's when everything faded to black and she opened her eyes. She was back in her bedroom, not in her beast like form. She was awake and her hand was lightly touching Luz's face. She saw that one of the potion bottles was in her mouth and Maxwell was looking worried more than usual while King was making sure they were alright. That's when Eda got up on her feet as did Luz and Maxwell.

"Thanks for this!" said Eda with a grin.

As Eda stood there, she saw multiple empty bottles beside her. She looked surprised to see this.

"And those..." she said pausing.

That's when her scarf came off and it revealed Eda's gem that was on her sternum and if shown it was half-dark.

"Hey! Your gem! It's still dark!" said Luz pointing out the detail.

Eda looked alarmed as if trying to hide a secret that just came out. She tensely pulled her scarf back on to cover her gem to hide it.

"Uh...No, it's not! Your nuts!" said Eda denying it.

Maxwell felt a panic in him rising. while Luz was skeptic.

"The curse has been getting worse and you've been hiding it!" said Luz crossing her arms.

Eda knew that they knew the truth and she couldn't lie about it.

"Ugh...you're right. It's taking more elixir to turn me back and more magic to keep the curse from rearing its feathery head." said Eda confessing.

"What happens if you use your magic? Do you...do you...die?" said Luz looking worried.

"What?" said Maxwell in wide eyed shock.

They looked at Maxwell, seeing he was on the verge of panicking when he heard this.

"I think I just scared him." said Luz taking notice.

"Calm down. And No! Geez, you're morbid." said Eda annoyed but showing a calmer expression. "I just...kinda...sorta...turn into the Owl beast...forever. Ahhh...it's a fate much worse than death if you think about it."

Eda let out a sarcastic laugh but she saw this wasn't the right reaction to this as she saw Luz was getting worried and she wanted to do something to help her while Maxwell looked as though hearing this bit of news scared him to the point of his heart skipping a beat.

"Uh oh." said Eda and Luz in unison.

"Not my Eda." said Maxwell breathing in and out a bit faster.

"Maxie, try not to freak out. It's gonna be alright." said King attempting to calm him.

"Maybe Braxius has something stronger or something else we could use to keep the curse at bay. Oh lord, panicking, not calming down." said Maxwell showing signs of panic. "I'm freaking out!"

"Maxie, baby, we're not going to let that happen! We'll do something about it. We'll find a cure and then-" said Luz but she paused when Eda came to reassure them.

Eda placed a hand on each one of their shoulders. It did little affect for Maxwell but it barely had any affect on Luz.

"Don't worry. I just have to limit my magic use a little. Maxwell Logan, calm down, I apologize for scaring you two. I should've said something sooner but I didn't want to worry you two." said Eda attempting to comfort them.

Eda tried to put a smile on their faces by using her fingers to form one on them. Their smiles looked a bit strained.

"Ahhh...there's the Luz and Maxie I know!" said Eda trying to inject some comfort in them.

Even though Eda meant well with her attempts to console them. The strained grins on the two human's faces faded. Luz shown a sad pout with puppy dog eyes at Eda while Maxwell looked like he wanted to say something but no words came out yet.

"Eda, I know you mean well and I know you don't want us to worry. But hearing this news, well, wouldn't you feel the same way if the situation was switched? Kind of like if Luz was you and you were Luz." said Maxwell sadly but making a point.

Eda thought for a moment and she knew that Maxwell was right. She imagined being in Luz position if she was going through this and if Luz was in her position. She may not have been the emotional type like Luz but she did understand the point.

"Well, if the situation was switched, I might not be react like Luz, maybe I'd show some fear and worry while trying to be sassy and brave, but I do see your point." said Eda.

"I also hope it wasn't selfish of me to say such a thing. I only said that because, well, you were a kid once, when news like this is told to kids, like parent to their child, it's natural that the kids react that way." said Maxwell showing remorse.

"Maxie, it wasn't selfish. It's alright. But you are right about one thing, I was a kid once, the chaos I caused back than." said Eda with a grin.

As she saw that Luz and Maxwell were still worried, she knew that they would feel better if they hugged it out.

"Ugh...go on! Do the parallel arm thing." Eda told them.

Luz walked up to wrap her arms around her to hug Eda, so did Maxwell, both of them hugged Eda from both sides. King came over to hug King around her leg.

"Before anything is done. While at school, you two look out for each other. King and Hooty will be here to help me out. Everything will be alright." said Eda with a word of comfort.

Hearing her telling them this seemed to be working as they let out a calmer breath. After hugging each other for a bit. They released their arms from her, but Maxwell managed to calm himself while he still felt worried as did Luz. They suddenly heard a loud farting sound, causing them all to blush.

"Someone farted?" said Eda.

"Sorry, last night, I think what ate had a bit more spice to it than I think it did." said King blushing deeper.

"Well, at least I know where I can light a match. I got some matches lying around." said Eda. "Alrighty, it's time for school."

They walked out of the room, went down stairs, both Luz and Maxwell got their backpacks and headed for the door.

"Eda, don't do anything that'll, you know." Luz advised.

"Not to worry, kiddo, and no tickling each other or I might have to tickle ya." joked Eda.

Maxwell smiled and let out a surprised chuckle as the two walked out the door and the door closed.

"Uh...what a couple of good kids! So considerate, Luz being the lovably cute girl she is and Maxie being the sweet, southern gentlemen. They deserve something nice." said Eda with a grin.

It wasn't long till Eda looked at the cauldron and she got an idea.

"And I think I know what!" said Eda. "Hey King, got a minute?"

King walked into the living room and sniffed the air like he smelled fresh air.

"Sure, good news is, I got rid of the farting smell, it's going to smell like lemon in there for a bit." King explained.

As both Luz and Maxwell headed to school. Maxwell suddenly gotten an idea but he knew that the idea was for in case something really bad was coming their way. He had an idea that could help in the situation.
