A couple of days have passed since Lilith changed her ways, joined the good side with Eda, King, Luz, Maxwell and Hooty, did something to share Eda's curse in an attempt to help Eda and the others and moved into the Owl House with them. Even though Lilith wasn't part of the Emperor's Coven anymore and is now covenless like Eda, she was still going to take time to adjust to the new life style, especially with learning how to be a friend to Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell as both Eda and Lilith have made up. She definitely knew she had to take some time to adjust to the fact that Eda and Maxwell are dating.
Luz and Maxwell did talk to their friends Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric and Emira recently as they expressed how they are glad everyone is alright and gave each other hugs. They did remember that Maxwell declared his love for Eda in front of everyone which they knew that took guts for Maxwell to admit in front of everyone.
"I'm glad you guys are alright." said Willow gladly.
"Me too." Gus agreed.
"So Maxie declared his love towards Eda, right in front of everyone." said Edric.
"And he wants to be with her forever." said Emira. "I know this isn't a time for jokes but it sounded like you wanted to propose to her."
Maxwell blushed deeply at the very mentioning of proposing to Eda as he remembered how he declared his love and it did sound like his proposal to her.
"Come on, lets not tease him." Luz kindly advised.
Maxwell let out a nervous laugh and a loud, nervous hiccup as if he blurted out a big secret.
"Did it really sound like that?" asked Maxwell nervously.
"Well, to be fair, you did admit your love for Eda in front of everyone and wanted to be hers forever." said Willow pointing out a fact.
Maxwell knew that Willow is right when she told him that.
"I'm not eighteen yet though. Even if I asked her to become my...my wife. And we had to wait till I was eighteen, do you guys think she'd wait for me?" said Maxwell feeling nervous about the possibility. "I've never considered the possibility till around the time when we rescued her from the Emperor."
"You do love Eda, don't you?" asked Amity.
"I do, with all my heart. Although, the idea of me wanting to one day become her...husband. The very idea of even wanting to ask her or propose." Maxwell started.
"But your afraid." said Luz.
Maxwell blushed deeper and nodded. They all could tell he was afraid to ask Eda or even so much as afraid of anything going wrong since he's never had asked a lady to marry him before, especially if it meant having to wait until he was of legal age. Luz placed a hand on his shoulder to try and calm him of any fear and nervousness.
"Maxie, you and me helped her many times as she's also helped us many times. You risked your life to try to find a way to heal her of her curse, even if you tried using a potion that would be stronger than the elixir she originally took, even if it was a temporary solution till you found a permanent one. Sure, you had help along the way. But doing what you did, Eda was so happy that you did that for her. Despite the fact that you were afraid of her or afraid that you would possibly fail. She loves you as much as she loves us. There's no way she'd turn you down, she'd totally wait for you." said Luz giving him a word of comfort. "It's alright to be afraid, it's normal to feel that way."
He felt his nervousness calming from Luz's word of comfort. He knew that she was right as they've done a lot for Eda and she has done a lot for them as well. He remembered when he won Eda's heart, he was nervous but it all worked out with what he was doing for her.
"Well, even if she says yes, and if she waits for me to become of legal age. Both in the beginning, during and after it all. I don't want to neglect anyone. I don't want to neglect Luz, King, Hooty, Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric, Emira, I also don't want to neglect Lilith or anyone I care about. I want to be there for everyone." said Maxwell kindly.
They all could tell that Maxwell really meant those words as he placed one arms around Luz in a one armed hug and shed a tear the trickled out of his eye. Luz smiled and hugged him back.
"Oh Maxie, you're probably the sweetest person we've ever met." said Luz with a grin.
"Would hugging you and Luz be alright? We also want to show some support but also because we're so glad you guys are okay." Willow asked.
"Also, we'd like to apologize for getting Maxie and Luz in danger with Lilith and the Emperor since that also lead to Eda being put in danger. We know we're part of the cause of that when we were heading for the relic room." said Amity showing her compassion. "And we're sorry."
"I have to agree with Amity, we feel like were part of the cause of that and we're sorry." said Willow.
"And I too am sorry." Gus apologized.
Luz and Maxwell both felt like this was the kindest thing anyone could say to them as they grinned.
"Bring it in, you guys." said Luz with a grin.
"We also found out you guys tried to help Eda when you and one of my clones encouraged the protest of letting Eda go free." said Maxwell chiming in. "You guys even incited the people to let Eda go free, besides, I know you all were doing what you can to help us, even informing Eda we needed her help and you guys incited the protest, that proves your right to be forgiven."
"I agree." said Luz in agreement.
Willow, Gus and Amity felt so relieved to hear this as both Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric and Emira all came over and gave Luz and Maxwell a group hug, showing their love, support and comfort to them. Maxwell and Luz would hug them back when they hugged them.
After they all hugged each other for a while, they eventually pulled their arms from each other.
"If any of you want to talk to us about anything, and this also goes for the rest of us. Than we'll know where to find each other." said Gus.
"That's good to know." Maxwell replied.
"Are you two sure you're alright? We heard that the portal that leads to the human realm got destroyed so you could prevent the Emperor from entering the human realm for any reason he was trying to get his hands on the portal. And we know that means you two are now trapped here instead of having the choice to go from the human realm to the Boiling Isles whenever you please." said Emira noticing they might feel afraid or sad.
Both Luz and Maxwell knew that they were trapped in the Boiling Isles and are not able to come and go to the human realm to the demon realm as they please like before. They knew that meant they're trapped there with no other way to go back. But they knew that they had to do that so Emperor Belos wouldn't be able to use the portal or the key for any evil purposes. But being with their friends along with those that are family to them felt like some comfort to them.
"Well, we might be trapped here now, but we got Eda, King, Hooty and you guys to be with us since we're all going to be there for each other during both good times and bad times. So at least we're not alone." said Luz showing some optimism.
"They're right about that." said Edric. "But, what if the Emperor, his guards or anyone working for him tries anything funny? Because now that Eda is back with you two, and now Lilith is no longer with the Emperor's Coven, it looks like now it's not just Eda, King, Hooty, Luz and Maxie being an enemy to the Emperor, but now it looks like we're also an enemy of the Emperor, and possibly others out there are going to rebel against him."
They all fell silent as they knew that what Edric said was right. Eda, King, Luz, Hooty and Maxwell are not the only enemies of the Emperor, but Lilith, Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric and Emira and possibly more people at the Boiling Isles may rebel against the Emperor, fight back or see the Emperor as an evil liar whose just a power hungry, control freak whose corrupt like an evil world leader. They knew others may rebel against him.
"That possibility is high but we all know that if the Emperor tries to hurt anyone we care about, especially if he tries to harm any of you, or even a lady, especially my lady. Than I won't show the Emperor any mercy." said Maxwell looking serious. "But what ever he's planning, we all know it's probably something that isn't good but I know that Eda, Lilith, me, Luz, King and all of us will take him down or we'll find out what he's planning and we can stop him. Just like Luz said: He's not as invincible as he claims to be since we cracked a piece of his mask." explained Maxwell.
Luz and Maxwell reached inside their pockets and pulled out the pieces of the Emperor's mask that each one of them had since they cracked two pieces off it. They looked at the pieces with surprised interest as if they saw something so incredible that it was something so beautiful.
"You actually cracked a piece of the Emperor's mask?" said Amity wide eyed.
"You should've seen Maxie fire a spirit bullet at him." Luz blurted out.
They all were wide eyed at the very mentioning of that.
"You fired a spirit bullet at the Emperor?" said Gus surprised.
"And cracked the Emperor's mask while having a piece or two from it?" said Edric wide eyed.
The two humans nodded and showed they were serious.
"How'd you do it?" asked Willow looking interested.
"Where did you fire that spirit bullet?" asked Gus looking thrilled.
"We cracked his mask with ice pillars." answered Luz with a grin.
"I normally don't like to brag about anything but maybe this one time, I'll brag a little." said Maxwell trying to appear mature. "I got him in one of his legs, he'll be in a cast for a bit, no doubt, and possibly having a splint. But that's all I have to say about that."
"Whoa! That's kind of dark, but given the circumstances, you probably did that in self defense." said Gus looking amazed.
"I guess that means the Emperor is lucky you didn't kill him." said Emira.
"Big time!" said Luz and Maxwell in unison.
They all agreed that it was cool that both Luz and Maxwell cracked a piece or two of the Emperor's mask off and cracked his mask along with it while it was kind of dark and extreme that Maxwell used his magic to fire a magic bullet in the Emperor's leg but understood it was mainly out of self defense or to slow him down in case he gave chase to them.
"Looks like what ever happens next, we'll do our best to be ready for it and to be there for each other." said Willow.
"Agreed." said Luz.
They all hugged each other in a group hug once more, they all each gave Luz and Maxwell a group hug for a while as a means of comforting them and to show them they truly are sorry for what they apologized to them for since they knew that they too were guilty of leading the two humans and Eda into danger when they were helping them finding a way to cure Eda of her curse with the relic that got destroyed by accident, sure, they knew that all of them were guilty of something but Willow, Gus, Amity, Edric and Emira felt like they too were guilty and apologized for what they felt guilty for which Luz and Maxwell forgiven them as they knew they never meant for that to happen as none of them predicted it would happen.
At The Owl House a day later
Lilith was pacing in the living room of the Owl House as she had been thinking about something for a while and she had been silent all day long. She literally didn't speak a word.
"Lilith, did you need a minute alone? You look like your thinking and it looks like you need some privacy." said Hooty looking concerned. "Hoot hoot."
She stopped pacing as she had a look of guilt and depression. Lilith seemed to be thinking about so many things, mostly about her actions in the past but she didn't say a word about it yet. She turned to face Hooty and Hooty could tell the look on Lilith's face meant that something was bothering her.
"Do you want me to get Eda, King and the kids?" Hooty suggested.
Lilith was silent for a long moment before speaking.
"Where is Edalyn, Luz, Maxwell and King?" asked Lilith finally.
"Someone calling for us?" came King's voice.
Lilith didn't move and she didn't face King as both Eda, King, Luz and Maxwell walked into the living room and they saw Lilith standing there. An overwhelming feeling of guilt and remorse came over Lilith as she felt her heart was heavy with such emotions. She tried to remain strong.
"Lilith, what's going on here?" asked King looking concerned.
"Just tell them, already." Lilith said to herself.
"Lilly, you haven't said a word in two days now. We can definitely tell something is on your mind and it's bothering you. Even Maxie can tell from the vibes he's sensing from you." said Eda sounding like she was quick to catch on.
Lilith couldn't hold back as she let out a sigh, hanging her head down in shame.
"I...I'm..." Lilith struggled to speak.
"Is something really bothering her? I'm still getting to know her since you know her better than the rest of us." said Luz curiously.
Lilith suddenly shed a tear from her left eye as she finally relented.
"I'm a horrible person." said Lilith finally said out loud.
They were all surprised to hear her speak and from what she said, they knew that something was bothering her but they had a suspicion to what it was.
"What is she talking about?" asked Hooty curiously.
"I'm a monster. Everything I said and done in the past, you all can tell that I'm a horrible person for it. The bad things I've said and done to all of you, it's all my fault, I'm to blame for everything." said Lilith being deeply remorseful.
As they all heard Lilith putting herself down and accepting blame, guilt, remorse and responsibility for her actions that they all know about.
"I cursed my dear sister, nearly got her killed, attacked her at times, tried to force her to do something she didn't want to do. I've said horrible things to Luz and Maxwell, I kidnapped them and held them hostage to get to my sister, I nearly got them both killed in a witch's duel, both when it was Luz dueling Amity Blight and when I dueled Maxwell, I scared them both, two innocent human kids, I mistaken Maxwell for someone else, tried to force myself on him when he had every right to not reciprocate my lustful feelings towards him, I nearly raped him, I blamed him for my own actions, framed him for a crime he didn't commit, I hurt both Luz and Maxwell, I tried to kill them, I said and did horrible things to all of you, I put you all in danger, I broke all of your hearts, made two innocent children cry. I was practically a bully, a monster, a mean girl. For every bad thing I've said and done to everyone I've ever said or did something horrible to, I'm very sorry. I have no right to be forgiven, I shouldn't be forgiven by anyone, all of you have every right to hate me and every right not to forgive me, but I do have a right to say how sorry I am for everything." Lilith finally told them.
They all were looking at Lilith and on one hand, didn't expect her to break down in guilt, shame and remorse this way but on the other hand, they suspected this was one of the things that was bothering her. Eda didn't expect this from her at first but was surprised that Lilith was guilt ridden. Luz may not have liked her at first when she first met her but she could see that Lilith's guilt for her actions was killing her inside but she could tell that Lilith wanted to be forgiven and that she was hurting. King usually expected Maxwell to break down like that if he did something he normally wouldn't do but this coming from Lilith, he was surprised but he felt like one of them had to say something to her to console her. Maxwell felt like he knew this would happen from the vibes he sensed from her but he was surprised to even witness Lilith breaking down in guilt and shame this way. They knew they had to say something as they could see that what Lilith has said and done to them and others in the past is killing her as she has started to join the good side.
"Lilith, one, you need to calm down, and two, there's something we should say to you since we see your feeling this way." Eda advised.
Lilith knew that if they were to say anything to her, she knew that it was possibly a lecture which she on one hand felt like she deserved to be lectured or yelled at or worse, but on the other hand, she was curious to what they would say to her. She turned around to face them as they saw she had shed a tear.
"I'm listening." said Lilith.
"Lilith, you cursed me without knowing that the curse would lead to where it did, you said and done horrible things towards me, you scared Luz and Maxie, almost got them hurt or killed, you hurt them, you lied about many things, you kidnapped my kids, upset them in the process, you may have nearly raped one of them, even though he tried telling you that your better off finding someone else, even though you blamed him for your actions and framed him, you made them cry, you may have nearly gotten us all killed and you may have attacked us. You even tried to get Maxie's power taken from him which could've lead him to his end, even though you nearly tried to do something similar to Luz." said Eda pointing out everything that Lilith said and done.
Lilith hung her head in shame as she knew she deserved to be reminded of her wrongdoings.
"I'm sorry." said Lilith sadly.
"We may not like what you've said or did in the past towards any of us that was as bad as it looked." said Luz being honest.
"You have every right to feel that way about me." Lilith told them in agreement.
"But despite all that, you turned to us for help to rescue Eda, even when we knew that we couldn't do it on our own as you too knew you couldn't do it on your own." said Maxwell pointing out a positive note.
This had Lilith feeling a small bit of consolation but her heart was heavy with guilt.
"I'll admit, I'm a bitch who deserves to punished and shown no mercy, even if I begged for mercy while on my knees." said Lilith admitting she didn't deserve anything good coming to her.
They all looked at her as she finally looked back at them.
"You may not be in the Emperor's Coven anymore and your covenless like Eda, you've said and done a lot of horrible things, something the good lord would disapprove of and it's no lie that I would have every right to rebuke you. There's no doubt about it." said Maxwell giving her a stern look.
"Understood. Yet I heard from my sister and your friends that they've confirmed you are religious as they've said. A young boy of God." said Lilith admitting something she heard from them.
"Yes I am. With a lot of the bad things you've done in the past, even I'm not a fan of that." said Maxwell as his face turned into compassion. "But you ended up helping us in the end, even if you risked your own life. Maybe, just maybe, there's a chance at showing your mercy."
Lilith looked at him as if worried that she would be given a punishment she might not be able to handle or that she didn't know what he was getting at with his words at first.
"Which is why I want to at least try my best to earn back the trust and forgiveness of all of you, even though I don't deserve it. Earn my keep if that's possible with your permission." said Lilith hoping but also felt some doubt.
"But that's the thing, since Eda, Luz, King, Hooty and I are family, and since you and Eda are siblings, that still means your family as well. Family shouldn't have to earn their keep." said Maxwell with a word of comfort. "But, you will be having to earn our trust. As far as forgiveness goes, while you may not deserve it, after what you did to help us, maybe you do deserve to be forgiven. But you're still going to have to earn our trust."
Lilith felt as though this was an unexpected form of mercy, she expected one of them to yell at her or worse. They were showing to be tough but fair.
"I'll do it. But if I do anything wrong that hurts any of you or puts you in danger, than you have my permission to punish me and if that is to happen, please, don't be so brutal, even if I do deserve to be punished harshly." said Lilith hoping that they can trust her enough to show some mercy to her.
"Well Lilith, we may not like what you did in the past, but since you helped us in rescuing Eda, after you found out that the Emperor lied to you, there may be some hope for you yet. But a little bit of hope is better than no hope at all. But like Maxie said, you'll have to earn our trust." said Luz showing some kindness.
"Lilly, we may not have gotten along since the rift between us started, but if you are truly sorry, and since you did help rescue me and helped my kids along with King. I may not get all wishy washy about this, but I do know this new life style for you will take some time to adjust, but as you earn our trust, it might not be much but it's a start." said Eda showing some subtle mercy.
As Lilith heard their words, she knew while they were being tough but fair with her, she felt there was some ray of hope in there. He let out a relieved sigh.
"I'm glad to know that. Yet now I'm curious about something or another." said Lilith kindly asking. "About my sister and both Luz and Maxwell. Help me understand, how did he fall in love with my sister and how did Luz become part your lives? I ask because I'm curious since I know that Maxwell has been dating Eda for a period of time and that Luz has been in her care for a while."
They all looked at each other and knew that this was more like curiosity coming from Lilith and they figured she deserved to know how it all started.
"Well, we first found Luz, and we found Maxie later on. Luz came to the Boiling Isles by accident, she was having a hard time fitting in back in the human realm, she helped us out in a situation and when we found out she wanted to stay with us, she told us about her mother was sending her to a place called summer camp and she didn't want to go, so she wanted to stay with us and she wanted to learn how to become a witch like me. She felt like she fit in more at the Boiling Isles and I couldn't send her back. She felt so happy here. She's grown on us." explained Eda. "When we found Maxie later on, he got attacked by a demonic clown but we took that bozo down. Hard to believe but Maxie used to be scared to death of me. Everytime I told him what needed to be done, he did it without hesitation, he didn't want to say or do anything that would make me mad or upset, he was afraid I'd yell at him or hurt him because his dad and others back in the human realm hurt him for a long time and his mother was...no longer around, he was a very shy, scared little boy. But the day I gave him his first kiss, he realized that his fear of me was because he fell in love with me. Since than, Maxie was trying to find out if he was falling in love or if it was something else. But as he kept doing so much for me, Luz, King, Hooty and our friends, we found out he's a total gentlemen and later on, he found out that ever since I gave him his first kiss, I was on his mind a lot and he realized that he's fallen in love but he wanted to do a grand gesture to win my heart and helping me with my curse was the only thing he could think of, his mother taught him to have such respect for women that he would never strike a woman and would never say anything horrible about them, everytime some male dingus laid a hand on me, Luz or any female when he was around or if anyone said anything bad about us or any woman when he was there, he would immediately knock that person on their hiney. Even Luz still wants to help me with it too. When we all found out that Maxie didn't want just any girl and that he only wanted me and after he found a temporary solution for my curse, I'll admit, what he did for me, it was the nicest thing any man ever did for me. Even Luz and King assisted him, which that was really sweet of them, what Maxie did worked. I couldn't turn him down because that's when I started falling in love with him and both me and Maxie have been romantically involved ever since. Maxie didn't want to go back because it wasn't safe for him there anymore. I couldn't send them back, these two kids, they've grown on us and I love them as much as they love me."
Hearing Eda explain this to Lilith not only got her attention but she seemed to show that she could understand everything Eda told her was the truth and how it was quite a story.
"So you not only became their mentor, but you, King and Hooty became family to them and they became family to you? Luz and Maxwell felt like outcasts in the human realm, Luz because she was unique and different with her interests, Maxwell's case was because he was bullied and abused by his father and others, even if his mother defends him, both of them feeling like they didn't fit in when all they wanted was to be accepted and loved, even if one of them was worse off. Luz being the lovably adorable girl with an infectiously cute personality, Maxwell being the southern gentlemen with high morals towards women." said Lilith pointing out the details.
"Big time!" they all said in unison.
Lilith walked over to them and once she stopped, she was at least three feet in front of them.
"Sounds like they're really good human children, yet I heard some, well, I've heard some things they did during the time they've been here but I want to know if any of it is true. I've been told they've been considered rumors and some of it was true." said Lilith feeling curious.
"We're listening." said King.
"I heard that Luz and some of her friends took on the Greater Basilisk and won, Luz and some of her friends changed how detention at our old school is done, Luz and her friends became friends with the Bat Queen, took on the Slitherbeast, Luz had help from her friends with taking down the Grom demon." said Lilith listing off some of what she heard about Luz. "With Maxwell, I heard he killed the last unevolved vampire, had help with killing the Greater Velociraptor demon, had help with killing the Grom demon for good, didn't know that was possible, he too took on the Slitherbeast and ridden it's back like a carnival ride, took on a pig demon without the use of magic, even though I did hear that Eda, King, Luz and her friends took him on before. He gave Warden Wrath quite the beat down when he posed a threat, even Eda and Luz have done that before, he actually got away with kicking Principle Bump in his...family jewels, because of something the principle did, got Principle Bump and the teachers on his side when a bully situation happened at our old school and he handled it like he was the judge and jury in a court room, and when I decided to help rescue my sister by turning to your friends for help, the two human children battled against the Emperor, they cracked his mask, and have a piece of it in their possession and Maxwell used the spirit bullet spell to fire a shot into the Emperor's leg to slow him down." said Lilith listing off all she heard.
As they all listened, they all nodded to answer her. This left Lilith a bit surprised.
"For a couple of human children, they're proving to be quite the couple of witches." said Lilith blushing.
Luz and Maxwell blushed and gave a small grin. Maxwell let out a hiccup from this. They knew this was probably one of the first times that Lilith complimented anyone.
"That's actually sweet of you to say, Lilith." said Luz kindly.
"I appreciate the compliment." said Maxwell with a hiccup.
Lilith shown a little smile as she felt like this was a good start in trying to learn to get along with them and to become a friend to them. Lilith reached out to place her left hand on Luz's chest area where her heart was located, causing Luz to blush. Lilith raised her left hand to place it on Luz's cheek, it was like she was attempting to console her after a bad day.
"Luz, I'll bet it wasn't easy to feel like an outcast back in the human realm, feeling different from others, hard to make friends because you were different, having different interests, different type of creativity or way of expressing yourself, having a different imagination, or as some would say is weird, but your type of weird was a good weird. Yet some people seem to disapprove of that. It must have been so hard for you and all you wanted was to have friends like you, to be accepted for who you are and to fit in. Some people back in the human realm must have hurt you inside by rejecting you like that when you were just a sweet, innocent girl who had a different way of expressing herself which wasn't a crime. You were just being yourself." said Lilith being kind.
Luz knew that Lilith was right about Luz being different and wanting to fit in, even if others saw her as weird and different and disliked that, she knew that Lilith was right about Luz only wanting to fit in, have friends like herself and to be accepted for who she is.
"It was hard but I did find a place and people that accepted me for who I am and how I am." said Luz showing optimism.
"I truly am sorry that you went through such hardships in the past." said Lilith apologetically. "I'm glad that my sister was there for you when she decided to let you remain with her."
Luz felt her heart pounding with admiration towards Lilith's attempt at being kind to her after she had been new to this life style and turned to the good side. She turned to Maxwell, she was about to reach her right hand towards Maxwell but she stopped as Maxwell looked nervous about letting Lilith show physical affection towards him since both of them knew they didn't get along in the beginning and that they had different feelings as it shown in the past.
"Maxwell, even though you were possibly worse off before you met my sister, Luz, King, Hooty and Luz's friends. Losing a loving mother at such a young age, suffering the pain, torment and abuse at the hands of your father who should've loved you, him controlling every part of your life, not letting you make your own choices and decisions, being bullied a lot. You were just a little boy who wanted to be loved and protected like any other child. Others seeing you as their torturous play toy and it probably didn't make you feel any better after the wrong I did to you when all you and Luz wanted was to be held by someone you love who loves you back and tell you everything will be alright, even when times appear to be at their very hardest. It must've been so hard for you, probably on the verge of tears and at other times, you wish you had the courage to stand up to those who hurt you. You just wanted to be yourself and live a normal life or just to be a normal child." said Lilith as she was being kind to Maxwell.
Maxwell also knew that Lilith was right about the hard life he had in the past and the pain that others caused him from their actions. He knew Lilith was right about how he felt about it.
"It was hard, if it wasn't easy for Luz to adjust to things at the Boiling Isles at first, it was same on my end. But the good thing that came out of being here was I found a family that I've been yearning for, made friends that were good people and I fell in love with the most beautiful woman I've ever met." said Maxwell showing optimism as well.
"I truly am sorry that you went through such hard times in the past. I'm glad that my sister, Luz, King, Hooty and their friends were there for you when they decided to let you remain with them." said Lilith apologetically. "If it makes any of you feel any better, when I was in the Emperor's Coven, the whole time, it wasn't as glamorous as it might sound."
Both Luz and Maxwell were curious now, wondering if Lilith had it glamorous or if she had a hard time when being in the position she was in when she was part of the Emperor's Coven. Even Eda and King were curious.
"To be honest, here goes. Me and Kikimora, we never got along, my relationship with her was antagonistic. If you saw how me and Eda were towards each other before we made up, than my relationship with Kikimora would've made going through puberty seem like a walk in the park. I was put under a lot of pressure by Kikimora and the Emperor, if I had displeased the Emperor, he didn't get physical, no, but he got verbal. There were times when he would threaten something, ether directed at me, Kikimora, Warden Wrath, some of the guards or all of the above. He didn't even know that I had Maxwell's father locked in a cell which if he found out that I was working with him to get to ether Eda or Maxwell, the Emperor would blow a gasket, use words that he would be against using, and possibly blame me and have me suffer a punishment. The Emperor is against humans in forms of prejudice. Don't know if he found out about his father being in a cell and my interaction with him because he never brought it up and I'm no mind reader like Maxwell. The day I had Eda in my custody, he threatened to strip me of my ranks and banish me from the coven if I was to fail one last time, and you're all fully aware of what he wanted to do to covenless witches. But I know that everything I'm saying is no excuse for my behavior, my actions, or anything I've said. But it's possible he knows about the fact that I lied to him about my actions when I first interacted with Maxwell, he probably already knows I lied to him about what I told him. That field trip to the Emperor's castle, now that I know the Emperor lied to me about healing Eda of her curse, a field trip to the Emperor's castle was probably a horrible idea if it would be dangerous for children to be there but with how everything transpired, no one could've predicted any of it, unless Maxwell or someone clairvoyant was to have a psychic vision, than like Maxwell would say, we're sure out of luck." Lilith explained as she attempted to help them feel better about their hardships. "I know everything I'm telling you all is no excuse for my actions but I wanted to at least attempt to make you feel better about your hard times. Be it hard times that were caused by me or someone else."
As they heard Lilith tell them all this. They were all feeling as though they never expected anyone to admit such a thing. They figured anyone in Lilith's position when she was in the Emperor's Coven had it a life of luxury but now they knew that wasn't the case.
"If you think I'm lying, than I wouldn't blame you for thinking of me as a liar. I know you have every right to believe that." said Lilith expecting them to call her a liar.
"To be honest, I never paid attention to that, given the fact you and me were not getting along, the thought of it never crossed my mind. But this, it's just like what Maxie said." said Eda showing some surprise on her face.
Lilith looked at Maxwell with curiosity.
"What did he say?" asked Lilith.
"Maxie said that those who are wealthy or those who live a life of luxury or those who look like they're living it up like royalty may look like they're living the life of milk and honey but it only looks like that when in reality, it's now what we think it is. That's at least what he's told us." answered King.
There was a long pause and Lilith shown a kind smile towards Maxwell.
"Maybe you're right about Maxwell. Him being wise beyond his years or he's fully aware of how something may look beautiful to look at but find out there's a shocking truth behind it." said Lilith.
"I learned it from my mom. And the times I've delved into your mind, I've come across some very harsh truths and realities to what your position entailed but I never said a word about that to anyone because at the time, you and me were always butting heads and barking at each other like two football coaches arguing with each other about what to do about some football players on the opposing teams." Maxwell admitted.
Lilith had no idea what football was but she understood that Maxwell was right about what he had said about those who look like they live a better life don't actually have it any better than anyone else.
"I know I will have to earn your trust but I feel like there's something I must do to relieve such painful guilt and remorse that weighs heavy on me. I may be on your side now, but after everything that's transpired, I feel as though I need help with letting it out but I don't know how to do that nor do I know what I should do to help that." said Lilith hoping there was a solution to what she told them about.
When Luz heard Lilith express her need in letting out such emotionally painful regret, she had an idea pop into her head as she smiled while blushing. She came to Lilith's side and she wrapped her arms around Lilith, pulling her into a hug, leaving Lilith to blush and feel confused.
"Edalyn, what's she doing? I don't know what this is and I feel weird. Am I suppose to do something?" said Lilith looking to her sister for advice.
"It's called a hug, Luz and Maxie, well, I already know what a hug is but it's suppose to help with relieving any sort of emotionally heavy burdens weighing down on anyone. At least that's what they told me. Luz is quite the hugger, I used to not be so much into it but I've warmed up to it." Eda explained. "Also, don't call me Edalyn and no swearing in my house."
"What am I suppose to do?" asked Lilith.
"Hug her back." instructed Eda.
Lilith felt as though she didn't know what a hug was or how to do feel about it but she did as Eda said and she slowly wrapped her arms around Luz to hug her back. She felt like this was an odd method to help someone relieve any sort of emotional pain that weighed on them but she was feeling oddly better as she would give a little grin to this.
"This hugging is a bit weird but it feels like it's working." said Lilith shedding another tear.
Eda and King came over to their side to hug Luz as well. Luz felt elated from being hugged by Eda and Lilith which Eda reached out her hands to briefly tickle Luz's sides and her belly, causing her to laugh and squirm a bit.
"Eda, I'm ticklish." laughed Luz.
"You got to admit, you knew I was going to do that." Eda chuckled.
After the two adult female witches hugged Luz for a bit, the three of them turned to see Maxwell as he blushed deeply but also shed a tear from the sight of them but he tried to look away as if he didn't want them to see him shedding tears. Eda was the first to know what he was feeling along with Luz having the same suspicion.
"Come on, my little love struck boy." said Eda inviting him in.
Maxwell came to them eagerly as he joined in on the group hug as Eda, Lilith and King hugged both Luz and Maxwell for a bit. Lilith seem to be smart enough to learn what a hug is and why people hug after experiencing one herself from Luz. After they hugged each other, even Hooty snaked his way over to them to wrap his body around them.
"Mind if I join in?" asked Hooty.
"Sure, just don't hug too tight." said Eda in a pained tone.
Hooty loosened his grip so he was hugging them gentler. After hugging each other for a long time, eventually releasing their arms around each other, Hooty unwrapped himself from them so they can move around freely. Something came to Maxwell's mind as he remembered what both him, Luz and their friends spoke of when he expressed his desire to talk to Eda about wanting to be her future husband.
"I'll admit, Luz is rather cute for a human, the past two days here, seeing how full of life she is, the way she smiles, her optimism, her positive behavior and her personality shows it. There's something about it that's got me feeling as if that sort of positivity is pulling me towards her. It's like it wants me to be part of her life. Is that normal?" asked Lilith.
"It's normal. Luz's lovable personality is quite infectious." answered King with a grin. "I some times tickle her to make her laugh."
Luz chuckled as she grinned. Lilith shared a chuckle with her for a bit. It wasn't long till she looked towards Maxwell, she slowly reached her hand towards him but even as Maxwell blushed deeper and shook a bit, that's when the young male human saw Lilith take hold of Maxwell's hand and placed his hand in one of her hands while she used her other hand to place on top of it. She was gentle with her hands which Maxwell was surprised to see that Lilith was trying to be gentle and kind with any form of affection towards him, she was subtle about it.
"Mr. Logan. I mean Maxwell, I know you're probably not comfortable with me hugging you yet or with my hands on you like the way I'm holding onto your hand, but I know one day, you'll feel comfortable enough to let me hug you with an arm or two around you. But just so you know, since you've been dating my sister. I may not have been all for it at first but with everything being what they are now, it's going to be a long way for me to earn your trust like the rest of the team. So just so you know, this is meaning that you have my full blessing to date my sister, as long as you take care of my sister as she takes care of you, Luz, King and Hooty." said Lilith giving him her blessing.
Hearing her tell him this was unexpected but to Maxwell, it felt like he was being given permission to date Eda or to even do more than that. It was enough to have him allow a hug from her as he immediately pulled Lilith in for a hug. Lilith knew this meant that earning his trust might take a while but him hugging her was a start.
"Eda, is it alright if I'm hugging her?" asked Maxwell.
"As long as Lilith behaves herself, I think I can allow it." said Eda.
Lilith slowly wrapped her arms around his body to hug him back but she made sure her arms and hands were wrapped around him at shoulder blade level as she knew that she couldn't place her hands on him in areas they knew would be forbidden.
"Gracias Lilith, gracias por darme tu bendición." said Maxwell getting a bit emotional.
"Anyone know what he said?" asked Lilith curiously.
"He's just happy you gave him your blessing to date Eda." Luz translated.
Lilith understood and hugged him as she knew this was a start in earning his trust if he was allowing her to hug him at first. They eventually pulled their arms from each other as Maxwell turned to Eda.
"Eda, when Lilith was explaining her past and yours when you two were...little and growing up. She allowed us to delve into her mind to her memories. And I saw how you looked as you were growing up. Seeing you as a kid, seeing you as a preteen, even seeing you as a teenager, probably between the times when you were ether thirteen through the age of eighteen. I hope it's alright of me to admit this. Seeing you as a kid, around the age of seven or six...you looked so cute at that age." said Maxwell admitting his feelings about seeing Eda when she was younger through Lilith's mind. "Seeing you when you were a preteen or a teenager...you look so beautiful back than, and you still look so beautiful today. I'll admit, I do wish I knew what it was like to have met you back than."
Eda could tell that Maxwell was swelling admiration towards her from what he admitted to her. She smiled as she gotten an idea. She pulled Maxwell in and whispered something in his ear, causing him to look as though he knew what to do. Eda even let him know he had her permission to do what she whispered into his ear.
Eda took hold of Maxwell's hand and Eda motioned for everyone to spread out in the room which they obeyed as Maxwell's hand began to glow a gold light and the room suddenly turned black They all saw what looked like a light shining and they looked like they were exploring a memory of Eda's memory as it looked like they were in a nearby forest that shown both Eda and Lilith running around, playing in the forest area as little kids.
Seeing how they looked as kids again was like stepping back in time but there was no time machine and no spell that allowed people to travel back or forth through time. They saw that kid Eda stopped as she nearly bumped into what looked like a kid version of Maxwell. This little boy that appeared to be Maxwell was looking like he was at Eda's age. Eda looked him over and saw he had round ears instead of pointy ears. Maxwell was looking nervous, blushing as deep as ever and he looked as though he was afraid of Eda.
"Hello." said young Maxwell with a hiccup.
Eda giggled as she reached out to take hold of his ears and was slowly rubbing them, causing the young male human child to shake in the body from relaxation.
"You got round ears like a spell circle." chuckled young Eda.
Eda had jumped forwards and Maxwell was now landing on his back while Eda was on top of him, tickling him as she got him laughing and squirming. Young Lilith saw this as she came over to them.
"Edalyn, what's got you hanging back here?" asked young Lilith.
Eda stopped tickling him and as they got up, that's when Maxwell saw that Eda pulled him in for a hug, causing him to be wide eyed, blushing and looking like his shyness took over him.
"Edalyn, you're probably hugging him too tight." said young Lilith.
"I think he likes me." giggled young Eda.
Maxwell hiccuped loudly as he managed to slip out of Eda's grip, he tried to look away from Eda as if he was too afraid to look her in the eye. Eda would try to get him to look at her but he closed his eyes, causing Eda to to grow curious.
"I think he's afraid of something, Lilly." said young Eda.
Maxwell opened his eyes and quickly took off running. They saw he was a fast runner for his age.
"Coming mama!" cried young Maxwell.
Lilith looked at Eda with curiosity.
"Did he see something that scared him?" asked young Lilith.
"Don't know, I kept looking at him but he didn't want to look at me, he had round ears and I got to touch them, they felt really soft, smooth and warm. I got to tickle his belly." said young Eda chuckling. "I think he's afraid of girls."
"He was really fast on his feet." said young Lilith taking notice.
Eda chuckled with a grin.
"He's funny." chuckled young Eda.
Everything faded to black and it looked like another memory had shown as they suddenly saw what looked like Eda at the age of a preteen, at the age of thirteen at the very most. Seeing her taller and older but looking so beautiful. She was looking like she was about to leave school for the day with her sister but she heard loud commotion from nearby.
"I wonder whose yelling?" asked preteen Lilith.
That's when Eda stopped and she saw Maxwell from a distance, seeing he was around her age in the memory. She saw that three punk teenagers were bullying Maxwell, three of them were female witch teenagers.
"Give it back!" cried preteen Maxwell.
They were using a spell to make his bag float and dumped the contents of his bag on him. They saw that one of the contents was a pie wrapped up in plastic wrap. One of them laughed as one of them stomped his pie till it was nothing but crumbled remains.
"My pie! It was strawberry." said preteen Maxwell on the verge of tears.
"Now it's ground berry." joked one of the bullying witch's cruelly.
Eda had a feeling inside her that told her to do something as she didn't like what she saw. Them three bullying witch's were aggressively bullying him, they were taunting, teasing, mocking and making fun of him. Eda looked annoyed as she came over there while Maxwell was trying not to cry.
"Haha, cry baby gonna cry." teased one of them.
"Cry baby, cry baby, he's a wimpy cry baby." the bullying witches taunted.
"How about a knuckle sandwich!" came preteen Eda's voice.
Maxwell saw Eda go up to these three witches and saw Eda punch one of them in the face. The three witches were shocked to see this while trying to look intimidating. But Eda had her hands glowing with fire as the three female witches showed fear of Eda.
"Back off or I'll roast you all alive like barbecue and feed you to the Slitherbeast! Beat it!" said preteen Eda sharply.
The three female witches saw that Eda was serious and they ran off in fear. As Eda laughed at their cowardice, she laughed at them as they ran while letting out a snort.
"Ran off with the tail between their legs." said preteen Eda laughing a bit.
That's when she turned to see the shy, frightened Maxwell as the young male looked down at his feet, he felt like he was too afraid to look at Eda in the eye or to look at her face to face. Eda seem to show she may know or recognize him.
"Did they hit you?" asked preteen Eda seriously.
He was silent and Eda was looking serious as if she caught him peeping at her.
"Did they hit you?" asked preteen Eda again.
"No." said preteen Maxwell shaking.
She was noticing that he was showing fear but she had no idea what he was so afraid of, she suspected it was what them three bullies did to him but knew it was only part of the reason.
"Your that boy that tries to walk up to me and say something but when ever I turn to look at you, you run away." said preteen Eda remembering.
"I-I-I-I'm really sorry. Don't hate me." preteen Maxwell stuttered.
"Why won't you look at me? And why would I show hate towards you?" asked preteen Eda starting to get annoyed for answers.
Eda could see he was terrified but figured may she shouldn't yell or get tough on him. She let out a sigh and tried to show a kinder side.
"If I promise you that I won't yell or get harsh, will you feel more comfortable telling me anything?" asked preteen Eda showing some compassion.
Maxwell shook in the body a bit less and he slowly looked up at Eda, slowly opening his eyes as he saw that Eda was trying to look less hostile. He nodded his head. That's when Eda reached out and place her hand on Maxwell's cheek, he flinched and closed his eyes.
"Relax, it's just a hand." preteen Eda reassured.
Maxwell slowly looked up again and slowly opened his eyes to look at her. Seeing Eda's face had him blushing deeper.
"You have got to stand up for yourself, little man." preteen Eda advised.
He shook his head at her once, leaving Eda curious.
"A gentlemen like myself doesn't strike a lady." said preteen Maxwell.
"Maybe I can teach you to stand up for yourself, even if it's standing up to a girl whose bullying you." preteen Eda suggested. "Trust me, you stand up to bullies, they got nothing on you."
He looked at her with hopeful eyes.
"I can help you." preteen Eda told him. "But I want to know something. Why do you struggle to look at me? Why do you run from me when I turn and see you as you try to walk up to me? Are you afraid of me?"
Maxwell felt like he was too shy and afraid to tell her but seeing her offer to help him seem to lessen his fears a bit.
"Would it be alright if I whisper it in your ear? Please?" preteen Maxwell politely asked.
Eda seemed to believe he didn't want to say it out loud if anyone was eavesdropping on them and wanted to spread a false rumor. She nodded once and leaned in to let him whisper in her ear. He gulped loudly and whispered to Eda in her ear why he was so afraid of her and why he would go up to her and try to talk to her but run away from her when she spots him. He whispered what the reason was in her ear which left her surprised and blushing slightly, but her blushing quickly disappeared and a smile formed on her face. She looked at him with a proud grin.
"Oh? So you like me because I'm the most beautiful girl you've ever seen, huh?" said preteen Eda swelling with pride.
He slowly nodded twice. Eda placed her hand on Maxwell's chest, feeling his heart rate pumping a bit faster while she placed her other hand on his cheek.
"I don't want any other girl." preteen Maxwell told her. "I also want to help you."
"Oh? You don't want any other girl but you only want Eda?" giggled preteen Eda.
He nodded once again, blushing deeper again. Eda lifted his face up to face her and as she smiled, she pulled him in her arms closely and planted her soft lips to his in a deep kiss. Being kissed by her made his heart race, his mind racing and he felt like a big amount of confidence surge through him. His world was going off like fireworks. She eventually pulled her lips off him in a loud pop, smiling proudly at him. He suddenly smiled back.
"We're going to get along just fine." said preteen Eda huskily.
Eda hugged him as he hugged her back as Maxwell let out a joyful laugh. Everything faded to black once more and another memory shown. This time, it shown an eighteen year old Eda and an eighteen year old Maxwell, but Eda was taller than him while Maxwell was able to reach her chin. They were somewhere outside in the woods as it looked like they were talking about something serious.
"You've been cursed? But by who?" asked teen Maxwell looking worried.
"I don't know. But I found out there's something I can do to manage it." said teen Eda showing a doubtful expression. "You saw my cursed form and you managed to get me to turn back. You probably would rather be with someone whose not cursed and is at risk of hurting you."
Seeing the doubtful look on Eda's face had Maxwell feeling saddened for her but he didn't want to leave Eda for something that is a curse she has. His heart raced faster when she's around him.
"No, I'm not leaving you. Just because you're cursed and you now have to take something to manage it. You're, there's a dangerous risk of me or someone getting hurt. But I could never leave you." said teen Maxwell.
Eda's doubtful expression turned to wide eyed shock as she felt like her curse would send him running but he didn't run from her.
"I'd never leave you. I can find a way to heal you of your curse. You just got to take that elixir for a while till I can find a way to remove your curse for good." said teen Maxwell shedding a tear. "I love you, Eda Clawthorne, and I'm not leaving you. I'd do anything for you, even if you tell me it's too dangerous, I'm still going to do it because I'd do it for you. I can never lie to you and I can never disobey you. I'll never leave you because your the only woman for me."
Hearing him tell her that seemed to be a huge surprise for Eda, she shed a tear as she pulled him in her arms and let out a laugh of joy.
"How do you put up with me, little man?" asked teen Eda relieved.
"You're my true love and when it comes to family or true love. No one gets left behind." said teen Maxwell proudly.
Eda smiled and chuckled as Maxwell shed a tear at his own words of how he feels about her.
"I'll find a way to heal you of your curse." said teen Maxwell.
He went in to kiss her and as he planted his soft lips to hers, this left Eda wide eyed at first but she closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around him as he wrapped his arms around her. Both of them kissing each other passionately.
Afterwards, everything faded to black and they all suddenly found themselves back at the Owl House together in the present time. They all were witnesses to what they just saw. They saw what looked like some of Eda's memories mixed with what looked like some of Maxwell's imagination or fantasy from within his mind that he imagined what it would look like if Maxwell met Eda when she was growing up as a kid, a preteen and a teenager.
"That was beautiful." said Luz with a grin.
"Kissy kissy moo moo means that I love you." joked King.
Luz giggled as she bent down to scoop up King in her arms and kissed him on his forehead.
"I hear wedding bells." King joked in a hushed tone.
"There's something I should do, it's something I wanted to do for Eda and Lilith. But I knew that I didn't think of it till Eda and Lilith started to share the curse. I wanted to do it right than and there but it had been a long day so I figured I should wait till we've rested up a bit. But if I don't do it right now, than I might not get a chance to do it later on." said Maxwell as he felt his heart race from what he had in mind.
They all looked confused at first. What was it that Maxwell wanted to do for Eda and Lilith.
"Eda, I want you and Lilith and take hold of each others hand. I'll explain afterwards." Maxwell instructed. "Trust me."
Eda and Lilith were growing curious to what Maxwell was about to do but Eda knew that she trusted Maxwell as she released her hand from his. She walked over to Lilith and the two took hold of each other hand while Maxwell came to their side while he placed a hand onto their hands. He let out a sigh and his hand began to glow that gold light again but he started to recite what sounded like a spell.
"With great power I possess, with it, I've had great progress. For the one I love, my love is forever. Transfer such power to the one that is my one true lover." said Maxwell.
Before anyone could say another word. Maxwell's eyes began to glow a gold light as both Eda and Lilith's bodies glowed a gold light all over which of course this was looking like it was similar to the spell that Lilith used to share Eda's curse with her.
"By the power of the lord!" said Maxwell powerfully.
There was a silver light that appeared and it rapidly flew around Eda's left eye and all around her hair, than it flew around Lilith's right eye and all around her hair. Eventually, the gold light and the silver light disappeared. What they saw was probably like witnessing a miracle. Eda's left eye was back to it's original color like her other eye while Lilith's right eye was now back to it's original color like her other eye. The white streak that was on Lilith's hair was no longer there while Eda's hair was back to that natural orange color that she had all them years ago. But the gem on Eda was suddenly back to full gold color and no longer discolored. They all looked at Maxwell with surprise.
"Maxie, what did you just do?" asked Luz curiously.
"Maxie, did you just?" King started.
Eda and Lilith felt like something inside them was back as they traced a spell circle in the air and it suddenly shown the light spell as a gold orb was flying in the air and they tapped it once as it disappeared. Eda smiled excitedly.
"I transferred half of my power into them and the curse is now dormant. The curse isn't gone, no, but I had it lay dormant for now." said Maxwell revealing what he just did.
They all were surprised to hear this. They didn't know if he could do this or not. They suspected that he just found out he can do it.
"But Maxwell, why did you do it?" asked Lilith curiously.
"I may love this power as it's saved my own keister many times and it's saved others too. But I love Eda more and if I have to transfer any amount of my power to both Eda and Lilith, than I'd do it, even though I mainly did it for Eda, still, now that Lilith is on our side, I knew it was only right to do this for both of them." explained Maxwell. "But I should tell you, if the curse is to remain dormant, it can only remain dormant for an unknown amount of time, my guess, a month. But you'll be able to use your magic in any other way you please, but once the month is up, than I got to use the spell to make it dormant again, once dormant, you'll be able to use your magic freely to do with it what you will."
Lilith smiled as she felt like this was one of her happiest moments but Eda was elated, she smiled as she let out a laugh of joy as she pulled Maxwell into her arms and planted her lips to his in a deep kiss while he kissed her back.
"A touching moment, he must really love my sister to do such a kind act." said Lilith.
"So beautiful." said Luz and King in unison.
Maxwell felt a strong amount of confidence and courage surging through his mind and body as Eda kissed him with such passion. She eventually pulled her lips off him.
"Thank you, little man." said Eda in his ear.
"There's something I need to ask of you. But I'll admit, I'm a little nervous." said Maxwell being honest.
Eda shown she was listening as Maxwell faced her.
"I know I'm not of legal age yet, I know that I don't always have a lot to give to the ones I love, the only thing I can give to them is my heart full of love, my support and do all that I can for them." said Maxwell as he began.
He reached out to take hold of Eda's hand and both of them took hold of each others hand.
"Would you object if I said by the time I'm of legal age, that I'd like to become Mr. Clawthorne?" asked Maxwell as he was proposing. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you. But I also don't want to neglect anyone. Now that Luz, King, Hooty and Lilith have become part of the family that I'm part of, I don't want us to neglect them. I want to be there for them as I also want to become Mr. Clawthorne when I become of legal age. I hope that you can wait for me."
Everyone was surprised by this. Maxwell just proposed to Eda while they understood that he wants her to wait for him when he becomes of legal age. Luz, King, Hooty and even Lilith felt like they were screaming "Yes" to this. Eda was so surprised by this that she pulled him up to his feet and smiled, a tear shedding from her eye. Maxwell's heart was pounding with excitement.
"Yes! Yes Maxwell Logan, I will." said Eda shedding a tear. "C'mere, you!"
Eda pulled him in for another kiss and he kissed her back, both of them hugging each other as they were filled with elation and excitement.
"Yes!" said Luz, King and Hooty in excited unison.
"If anyone is to become my sister's man, than at least it's going to be someone who loves her as much as this family loves each other." said Lilith as she was giving Maxwell her blessing.
Eda and Maxwell kissed each other on the lips as they eventually pulled their lips off each other.
"Eda, I know that me and Luz are stuck at the Boiling Isles but as long as we're with you, I know everything will be alright. But please, I don't want to neglect anyone. I don't want to neglect Luz, King, Hooty or Lilith. I want to be there for them as we are together. I'll love you and them forever, regardless if we have the ability to perform magic or not, I love you for you and I love them for who they are." said Maxwell proudly with hope.
"I won't neglect them ether. Luz, King, Hooty and Lilith are family and I won't neglect them ether." said Eda in agreement. "Even though Emperor bonehead is planning something, what ever he's planning, we'll all do our best to stop him if he tries to hurt anyone of us or those we care about."
"We'll take him on together." said Maxwell shedding another tear of happiness. "Could we have another group hug? If you're alright with it."
Eda motioned them all to come over and join in as they could see that Maxwell wanted them to share the love. Luz, King and Lilith came over to hug them as they all hugged each other in a group hug as even Hooty came over and gently hugged them. They knew that Luz and Maxwell may be trapped at the Boiling Isles after the portal and the portal key got destroyed, both Eda, Lilith, King and Hooty knew that they will protect Luz and Maxwell from any harm that could come to them. They all knew that they'll do anything for each other and will protect each other, help each other, will be there for each other and do anything for each other. They knew the Emperor was up to something but they'd do anything to stop him. Eda and Maxwell felt happy that they both want to wait for Maxwell to become of legal age so they can become Mr. and Mrs. Clawthorne one day. They knew that no matter what happens, they'll be there for each other.
Little did any of them know. Somewhere at the conformatorium, in one of the cells, a huge hole got blasted into the wall and there was one person that walked right out from the hole in the cell's wall. The escaped prisoner was smiling evilly.
"Maxwell Harvey Logan! I'm coming for you with everything I've got, your coming home like a good little boy and face your punishment like a man. By the time I'm done with you, you'll be wishing for me to kill you, which is going to be your punishment." said the male prison harshly.
The male prisoner turned out to be Maxwell's father, as he ran, he formed fire magic in his hands as if ready to fight his way out if anyone from the prison was to follow him. There was something that needed explaining. If Maxwell was born a human, than why is his own father able to do magic?
"My son doesn't know who or what he is. A hybrid, half human, half witch, but stronger than both." said Daston.
