For the ASL in this I used . I tried to describe the actions as best I could and I hope I did it correctly, but if you want to actually see them, go to the website and type in the sentence. There was also which gave me the same signs so atleast I knew I wasn't describing something incorrect.
This is set after *spoiler* Deans death. I know we never actually saw who the blurry blob was but I'm going with Eileen and you can't make me change my mine, for me she was always Sams happily ever after. The finale showed us snippets of Sams life after Dean left and this story was inspired by an article that listed all the unanswered questions left by the ending of SPN, so here is just a small glimpse into what I thought Sams life would be like post hunting.
Hope you enjoy.
I don't own Sam or Eileen or anything Supernatural related.
Reviews are appreciated, I'm not too proud to beg. :)
And Baby Makes Three.
Sam was sitting in his favourite spot on the couch. His long legs stretched out, feet resting on the coffee table, crossed at the ankles. He was reading the latest James Patterson book. An actual novel! Not a huge book on the lore of some deadly supernatural being, but an actual paperback that fit in his hand. These things still amazed him.
Since Deans death he still has good days and bad, and Eileen is there for whichever any particular day happened to be. And he was grateful. Grateful that she had taken him in when he arrived at her door, hollow eyed and grief stricken, and broken the news to her. Some how saying the words out loud made it both better and worse. It was Eileen who called Donna and Jody and told them while Sam just sat staring out the window, but slowly with her love and the love and support from all the other hunters, Sam healed.
He stepped back from hunting, still being available as a source of information to any hunter that required it, only taking the occasional job as he wanted too. He handed the keys to the bunker to Bobby because it would be a waste of resources to leave it completely abandoned. Unknown to Sam, Bobby visited the bunker and locked the doors to Deans room, and Sams. He felt it was the respectful thing to do.
Sam got a job and settled into his new normal. Walking Miracle, working, and just being with Eileen. No monsters, no horror, except that empty spot in his heart that he knew would never disappear, although the pain dulled around the edges over time.
Sam proposed on Christmas Day and they married on Deans birthday, it was Eileen's idea. It was more than Sam had ever thought he would be able to have.
"I want to teach you a new sentence." Eileen said as she sat down on the other end of the sofa.
"Okay." Sam replied, sitting up and putting his book to the side.
He turned to face his wife. He thought his sign language was pretty good but would never turn down an offer to get better at it if it helped his wife.
"Ready?" She asked.
Sam nodded.
Eileen made a fist, wrapping her fingers over her thumb and poked the tip between her pinkie and ring finger.
"I'm." She said.
Sam copied her. She nodded.
"Very good."
She then made a series of movements.
"Going." She prompted and Sam repeated her actions.
Next she held up her fist, palm out, with her thumb between her index and middle finger then quickly transitioned into a circle like shape.
"To."
Sam frowned as he copied his wife. She just smiled at him.
Her next sign was four fingers up and her thumb across her palm then brought her fingers down to touch her thumb. She followed that up with fingers down against her palm and her thumb up.
"Be. A." Sam said as he copied. "Hun, I know all these."
"Shh!" Eileen scolded him. "Last one."
She made a circle from her index and thumb, keeping the other three fingers straight, another fingers to the palm and thumb up, she then moved her thumb in between her index and middle finger. Sam followed along as they transitioned into thumb across the palm and finger curled to touch the thumb and finally index and middle finger crossed and the other fingers down.
"I don't get it?" Sam said confused, working through the actions again. "I know these."
"Do it again, slowly and say it through." Eileen prompted.
Sam shrugged and worked through the sequences again.
"I'm. Going. To. Be. A. Father." Sam paused. "Wait, what?"
He worked through it again.
"You...you're pregnant?" He asked.
Eileen nodded, her eyes shining.
"Yes. Doctor confirmed this morning."
Sam sat staring at his wife in shock.
"Sam? Are you okay? This...this is a good thing, right?" Eileen was beginning to get nervous.
Sam just ran through the new sequence again then a happy sob burst from his throat. He stood quickly and pulled Eileen from her seat, crushing her to him.
"Sam, Sam, I can't breathe." She grunted out.
"Oh sorry!" He relaxed his grip but didn't let her go, instead kissing her deeply, laugh/crying against her lips. "This is amazing! Thank you." He said when he finally broke free.
"Well, it wasn't all me." Eileen said with and eye roll. "But you're welcome. Anyway I've been thinking about names."
"Already?"
"Yes. I want to call the baby Dean." She stated.
"I love it." He replied looking down at his amazing wife, his face 50% joy, 50% grief and 100% love. "But what if it's a girl?"
Eileen quirked his mouth to the side and flicked her eyes sideways as she thought.
"Dean!" She said with a smirk.
Sam laughed then brought his lips down to meet his wife's again.
"I love you." He mumbled against her mouth.
Eileen took a guess as to what it was he actually said.
"I love you too."
