Anyways, I know it's much to ask but I would really appreciate if you, my awesome readers, tells me I'm not messing up the story with each new chap. I know I'm demanding a lot, but please. It's for me to know that I'm not ruining the story and also, if one chap is bad, I will rewrite it. So please?

Oh yeah, I said it before, but I'll say it again. I'm planning to write a Ninjago one shot series so any ideas are welcome.

Chap 2: Battle

It's been a month since Cole went abruptly missing. A full month not knowing what happened to the black ninja nor his location. And it certainly wasn't from lack of trying.

The very day their raven brother disappeared, the ninjas had been searching Ninjago City high and low. In fact, along with friends (the other elemental masters) and a few... connections (The snakes are not exactly their friend but neither their enemy), they've been searching the whole damn country.

However, the search was cut short to 2 weeks.

Why? It's very simple really.

2 weeks ago, sudden 'natural disasters' would occur. It could be harmless, such as the few occasional shakes of the earth. Or it could be utter chaos, such as the earth breaking open, a giant tsunami approaching (in which case, Zane and Nya were needed instantly) or the most recent one, a meteorite collision (that was the most terrifying thing the ninja had to experience since they had no clue how to stop it).

Miraculously but unfortunately, Ninjago wasn't the only one affected, the whole country was and reports has it that some nearby countries/islands were just as affected.

For the first time ever, even Sensei Wu and Misako were as clueless as the Ninjas.

This was new. For once, their was no bad guy behind that the ninja could fight. No wait, that's not right. The ninja had absolutely zero idea on who their new foe was and how to fight him, let alone defeat him (Zane's vision barely helped)

It couldn't be Garmadon, they had witnessed his powers and it didn't crack rock or break the earth (Plus he kinda lost his powers). It couldn't be an Oni neither, since the realm crystal was destroy afther they were sent to who knows where but not Ninjago. It couldn't be any of the other elemental masters since their powers do not goes to this extent and no one with the slightest resemblance to those evil capabilities was a bad guy.

But then, who?

"Cole?" P.I.X.A.L had suggested, causing everyone to snapped their head in her direction.

"What do you mean Cole?" Llyod had asked hesitantly, almost afraid of the answer he would get

"We are all aware that Cole had been acting strange the 2 month before he went missing. And all these attacks are earth related" The female robot concluded.

"Don't be ridiculous Pix," Jay interjected quickly"Cole's powers doesn't allow him to make tsunamis nor summon meteor" The blue ninja was doing a good job ruling his best friend out of the possible culprit list.

"That is not true. Tsunami can be caused by an earthquake in the sea and meteorites are basically spatial rocks."

As correct as it is P.I.X.A.L, that would mean Cole had reached his full and complete potential. And that is quite the impossible feat. " Wu explained calmly while Jay added " Yeah, and Cole can barely summon rocks bigger that himself"

"I suppose you are right" P.I.X.A.L nodded all too happily along with the rest of her friends. No one wanted their brother to be the responsible one.

However, it was clear the seeds of doubt had been planted inside each one of them

With no information about their foe, the ninja could only do their best at saving endangered lives in the aftermath. But they stilled tried to protect the village/city whenever they've reached in time (which was not often).

And so for 2 weeks the Ninja along with their friends exhausted themselves for the sake of those who couldn't protect themselves. At least the snakes are still keeping an eye out for any sign of Cole.

But today, the energy-draining routine changed.

The small village was surrounded by the same darkness Ninjago City was victim of during the Oni's invasion. People was frozen... um... stone-ified? everywhere. A truly heartbreaking sight that no one needed a repeat of.Llyod advance slowly towards the black clouds, along with Zane and P.I.X.A.L as they were the only one who could survive. But surprisingly, the smokey tentacles recoiled from the green ninja's way.

Curiously, the fully human ninjas also took a step towards the dark clouds, which reacted the same way again. They shared a glance and silently agreed that the whole team was fit to continue onwards.

With the help if Kai's and Llyod's elemental powers, the ninja was able to see most of the damaged inflicted to the village.

The ground was covered with varying cracks, some were hair thin and others was around 40 feet (Zane's estimate) which caused them to use Airjutsu in order to move forward. Almost all of the buildings had collapsed, replaced by gigantic shards of rocks.

As the Ninjas goes deeper into the darkness, more severe damages made themselves known. It was horrible, especially when the paralyzed villages were stuck under the destruction with a terrified face. It was even more heart breaking when children was involved.

The Onis were truly the spawn of evil. Which talking about

"Guys! Look!" Jay exclaimed pointing at the drak tentacles beside them. A black cloud was circling around a stoned villager while multiplying in volume until it engulfed the unfortunate man before floating back to wherever it came from, leaving nothing behind.

A shiver ran through the Ninjas' spine

"After it!" Kai ordered, following behind the evil thing at full speed. It lead them to the village centre, where their foe was.

"Greetings Ninja. I was waiting you"

The Oni emperor (at least that's what he's dress like) greeted casually, sitting leisurely, crossed legged, across the earth throne, with one hand holding his head. An amused smile formed on his repulsive face as he looked down at the ninjas' expression.

"What are you doing back?" the green ninja demand despite the uneasy feeling in his guts. He's pretty sure his friends were sharing the same dreadful feeling.

"Yeah, didn't you get enough butt kicking last time?" Kai added, taking a step forward and getting closer to his youngest brother. "Cuz we did and will defeat you again"

"Defeat, you say?" The Oni spoke, his voice low but clearly amused. What's so funny? "I would not say that."

"What do you mean?" Jay asked, his voice slightly quivering.

The Oni leaned forward, adjusting his position so that his elbows were on his knees with his finger crossed in front of his face, as if the Ninjas were something of great interest.

"You little Ninja did not defeat me. I merely let you won an insignificant battle." He had a knowing smile on, like he knew something the ninjas didn't (which was probably the case)

"As for why I am back. That is none of your concern. But I do need you out of the way, so let us make a deal"

"A deal?" Nya asked.

"Yes. A deal. Surrender yourselves willingly or surrender yourselves forcefully?"

"What the hell is that deal?" Kai demanded angrily.

"A great one. Now which will it be?"

"No way we are giving up!" Nya exclaimed, taking out her weapon, leading everyone to do the same.

"I see, then it was your choice." The man sat back on his chair. "Take care of them, General C"

The ninja tensed up as a man appeared beside the Oni emperor. Not an Oni, a human. And a badass looking one at that. (Jay thinks that the black tattered hooded Cape is very cool. The guy looks like a comic villain)

General C's arms started to glow and they instantly knew who it was. There was no way anyone else could do that!

However, before the ninja could say anything, General C jumped from the earth shard the throne was one and the ninja had to scramble to get away. If he was really who the Ninja thought he was, then that meant-

The earth shook violently, with far more vigour than they expected which cause them to fall face first. But they didn't have time to recover since the ground was cracking open as well.

"Damn it Cole! What the hell do you think you are doing?!" Kai screamed when the shaking came to an end and he finally stabilised himself. Cole just rose to his full height, regarding Kai with a blank face.

Kai's answer was Cole magma punch to the face which send him flying and colliding into one of the collapsed buildings, creating a giant cloud of smoke. The rest of the ninja gasped in shock at their brother's actions. Yet it seems he wasn't done with the red ninja. The evil raven lifted his right glowing arm towards Kai's direction and with a simple play of his fingers, the unconscious ninja was engulfed into the earth. With that done, General C turned towards his other enemies.

The ninjas snapped out of their shock when General C moved again. He charged towards Lloyd, fist ready for another powerful punch. It was only thanks to his quick reflex that Lloyd managed to block the attack with his sword, however the force of the impact still sent the teen backwards.

Jay and Nya jumped at the opportunity to strike. The water Ninja propelled her blade to the man side while Jay shot a lightning ball with the help of his Golden Nunchaku.

What happened was unexpected

The blade and elemental ball passed through Cole like thin air.

Clearly not anticipating this, Nya didn't move fast enough to avoid the power hit. She screamed as the current travel inside her and fell to her knees when the pain finally left her.

"Nya" Her boyfriend called, voice filled with worry and panic. Jay lunged a kick at General C, trying to put distance between them. But it was futile as Cole barely moved an inch. He didn't flinch or block either. It was as if nothing happened! The kick had connected with the raven, Nya had heard the impact.

It wasn't until a metal giant hand slapped the raven away, along with a burst of ice and green energy.

"What happened to Cole?" Jay asked, concerned about his best friend despite the fact that he was currently their enemy.

"I don't know, but the Oni is definitely involved" Zane answered, sending a glare to the Oni sitting on the throne. How dare he do such thing to his first friend?!

As if reading his mind, the Oni gave Zane a smug smile.

"We don't have time to figure out what's wrong with Cole right now!" Lloyd told them sharply, as much as he himself wanted to know what was wrong with one of his older brothers, he couldn't afford to do that now. Kai could be in trouble and there's still this Oni watching them like they were some sort of movie. "

We need to defeat him" He pointed at the Oni "Get him" His finger went to Cole "And find Kai" The other nodded with Nya saying (a well known phrase among the two siblings) 'I'm done being nice!'. And they charged.

Five against one was pretty unfair. But in their defense, the ninja was having quite the hard time with their enemy, good news, so was he. The only time they could hit the earth master, was during duel combo attacks. Cole would be fending of one of them and the others would take the opportunity to strike, never giving him a chance to regain his bearings.

After Samurai X gave at opening by swing her massive blade at Cole who blocked it, Jay threw lightning at his back. Followed by Nya splashing him with a water sphere, with Zane freezing the liquid. Finally, a burst of green energy from Lloyd sent their adversary into defeat.

"I'm don't have all day, General" the oni stated, looking down at the sprawled raven. As if a spell was broken, Cole was instantly back on his feet, his glowing members intensifying in brightness.

And he smashed the ground

.

But nothing happened

Still the ninja waited defensively, occasionally throwing glances at each others as minutes passed with zero movement.

And General C was back to full height

Yet

"Was something suppose to happen?" the blue ninja inquired but received no respond.

That is until they fell the atmosphere becoming slightly hotter by minute and what was that growing shadow? Electric blue eyes widen to an unimaginable size as they stare in horror at the sky.

"HOLY CRAP! GUYS! RUN!!!" Jay's warning was a second too late as by the time his teammate located the danger source, the meteor had already crushed them. With Jay narrowly invading the spacial rock.

He coughed as smoked filled his lungs and could barely see. But what he did see from his fallen position was Cole glaring down at him before colliding his boots with his head

"Oh wait... I remember!" Jay suddenly exclaimed, "You all were crushed under that meteor! How did you survive? What happened?" Panic and relief were evident in his voice.

"Meteor?" Kai asked, shock written on his face. Oh yeah, he hadn't been there.

"I'm not sure, but the meteorite opened in the last minute, swallowing us and somehow restraining us. Then some Onis came and brought us here." Lloyd explained with a shrug, that caused the chains to rattle.

Silence fell upon them.

Imma just run away now! Bye!
