Pax Animus
Perhaps one day this war shall end,
When Animus knows peace again.
When blades through flesh no more shall rend,
When tribes will call "the Other" friend.
...
Walk with my ward beneath the trees,
Hear her singing happily.
So far, she's escaped misery,
Unknowing of my travesty.
...
Knows not how against Fox Tribe fought,
Her parents' blades being for naught.
So through this girl, redemption sought,
For the carnage I have wrought.
...
Animus knows only war.
Tribes unknowing of what they fight for.
A sickness dwells within our cores,
Calls for peace always ignored.
...
Sabre, I believe still fights.
Holding blade that still shines bright.
But perhaps in slumber of the night,
Like me, he dreams to end our plight.
...
Must escape or end this obscene.
Perhaps escape to stars, they gleam.
A passing fancy, my mind deems,
But even now, still dare to dream,
...
That banners no more be unfurled.
That children no more tremble, curled.
Swords be sheathed and spears not hurled,
As peace, at last, returns to world.
