"So, I've managed to get the low-down on the practical exam this term!" Mina called as the class waited for their next lesson to start, "Kendo from 1-B knows an upperclassmen who told her. Apparently they always do a fight against robots for the first years!"

"Oh," Kaminari said excitedly, "Just like the Entrance Exams? That'll be easy!"

"But before that, we have to worry about the written exams," Yaoyorozu hummed, the two students flinching.

"Why'd you have to go remind us, Yaomomo?" Mina sobbed, "I suck at studying! Hey, you're smart! Could you tutor me?"

"Oh yeah!" Kaminari shouted, "Me too!"

Yaoyorozu seemed to glow in excitement as several more of the class came forwards and asked her to tutor them, inviting them around to her house that weekend. Izuku grinned to himself, happy to see his class so active. He glanced over at Todoroki, the smile vanishing as he inspected the silent boy. He still felt kind of bad for what he'd said during the Sports Festival, even if he'd meant all of it. Another person he had to talk to. Izuku started as someone touched his arm, the green-haired teen spinning his head to look at a surprised Ochako and Tsuyu.

"Hey, Izuku," Ochako said, "Uhm…since most of the class is going to Yaomomo's for a study session, do you want to study together?"

"Oh? OH!" Izuku blinked as he processed the request, "Uh…well…I usually study with my Si-, my trainer. He's also a tutor! I can…I can ask him if it's okay! Otherwise we can just go to someone's house."

"Sure!" the two girls said in unison, smiling brightly as they turned away, calling Ojiro and Iida over to ask them if they wanted to join.

"Wow, a private study session with your "wives"?" Mina cackled in Izuku's ear, Kaminari leaning on his desk as the two grinned knowingly at him, "I wonder what'll happen?"

"I…I…what?" Izuku squeaked, his cheeks flushing, "They aren't my wives!"

"Oh really?" Mina asked, pushing Kaminari off as she sat on his desk, leaning in close to the blushing boy, "That's not what I heard. Apparently, you admitted that they were your "brides" or something. So, what is it, Mi-do-ri-ya~?"

"It's not like that!" He stammered, trying to hide his face behind his hands, "It's just…it just means that I drink from them regularly!"

"Oh! Like the Brides of Dracula?" Kaminari mused, making the two look at him in surprise, "Though weren't they also Vampires? Does that mean Uraraka and Asui are gonna start coming after our blood now?"

"I…No!" Izuku spluttered, going quiet as he looked down at his desk, "At least, I don't think so."

"Midoriya."

Izuku turned at his name, blinking as he stared at Shinso Hitoshi, and the several other unfamiliar students that were standing behind him.

"Sorry to bother you, but this lot insisted," the purple-haired teen sighed, pointing over his shoulder, "They seem to think I'm their representative or something."

"Representative of...what, exactly?" Izuku asked slowly, blinking as he realised that Shinso looked a little bulkier and haggard than before. In fact, all the students int he group had that "Tired from continuous exercise" look.

"Oh, right," Shinso sighed, "We aren't really supposed to tell you yet. You'll find out next term, I think. Anyway, they wanted to say "thanks". So...thanks."

"You're...welcome?" Izuku mumbled, watching as Shinso turned away, the rest of the group giving Izuku smiles and waves as they followed the other teen, Izuku watching blankly after them, "What was that about?"

"Hi Izuku!" Ochako said happily as he opened the door to his apartment, Tsuyu waving from behind her, "Sorry that we're late, train got delayed!"

"T-that's okay!" He said, stepping back to allow the two girls to enter, spotting his mother peeking out of the kitchen, happy tears in her eyes, "Iida and Ojiro are already here. We're set up on the lounge. My room is…kind of small."

"That's fine!" the bubbly girl said as he led them through the short hallway, both girls giving the door with the All Might themed name-plate an interested look, before waving to the other boys who were sitting around the coffee table.

"Well then, now that we are all here!" Iida said authoritatively, "I suggest that we first discuss what our weakest and strongest subjects are, and then focus on those that we struggle with, with those who are confident tutoring!"

"Sounds good," Ojiro hummed, "I'm struggling a bit in Math and Hero Art History. It's kind of hard to focus with Midnight as the teacher. I'm good with Japanese and Modern Literature."

"Oh, I'm good at Art History!" Ochako said, "But I'm also struggling with Math and Modern Literature."

"Math isn't much of a problem for me. Though I'm having trouble with Calculus. Otherwise, Classic Literature is also a problem, kero," Tsuyu hummed, "Cementos is a good teacher, but his voice puts me to sleep."

"I know right?" Ochako giggled as they accepted the glasses of tea from Izuku's mother.

"I am confident in Maths and Science!" Iida said proudly, "Though I feel I am lagging in English and Art History!"

"Oh yeah!" the rest of the group chimed, "English is so hard. Present Mic doesn't always go over everything clearly!"

"Oh, then I can help," Izuku chuckled, "My…trainer has been teaching me English and a few other languages for a while now, so I'm pretty fluent. Also, Modern Literature and Art History. Math as well, actually."

"Is there anything he hasn't taught you to be good at?" Ojiro quipped, punching Izuku gently in the arm.

"Uhm…general Biology? He's only really covered anatomy, and even then, only how best to disable a person. Though..." the other four watched as Izuku slipped into a mutter storm, the two girls giggling as the boys shook their heads.

The exams came hard and fast, the entire class celebrating on the day of the last exam as they sat around the classroom, chatting quietly.

"So, do you think the practical will be like Mina said, kero?" Tsuyu asked as she sat on Izuku's desk, "That we'll be fighting robots?"

"I don't see why not," Iida hummed, hands chopping through the air as always, "It seems a good method to judge our growth compared to the Entrance Exam."

"Alright, you lot," Aizawa growled as he pulled open the door, stepping inside, "Suit up and get ready. We're heading to your practical exam venues. There's a bus waiting outside. Don't be late."

The class rose as one, each hurrying out of the class towards the changing rooms.

"W-what's going on?" Mina mumbled as the students got off the bus, staring at the line of teachers standing in front of them, "Why are all the teachers here?"

"I suspect you heard that you'd be fighting robots for your first exam," Aizawa sighed as the class nodded, "Well, we-."

"We decided to change it up a little!" Nedzu cried as he cut Aizawa off, popping out of the tired-looking man's capture scarf with a flourish, "You'll each be placed in pairs and will face off against a teacher!"

"We're fighting the teachers?" the class shouted, looking at each other in fear.

"Don't worry!" Nedzu chuckled, "We'll all be wearing special weighted arm and leg bracers! They'll slow us down and make it easier for you to fight! Now, onto the groups!"

Sato and Kirishima would be facing off against Cementos, while Asui and Tokoyami were against Ectoplasm. Iida and Ojiro nodded to each other as they followed Powerloader onto a bus, Ochako waving to Izuku as she and Aoyama went with Thirteen. Mina and Kaminari were shivering as Nedzu cackled, leading them to a bus, while Koda and Jiro followed Present Mic away. Midnight licked her lips as Mineta drooled, Sero shaking his head beside the purple-haired teen, Hagakure and Shoji leaving with Snipe.

Izuku looked at the four students remaining, a sense of dread creeping up his back. Both Bakugo and Todoroki were looking away from him pointedly, Yaoyorozu wringing her hands nervously.

"Against me, Yaoyorozu and…" Aizawa grumbled as he held out the clipboard, "Bakugo."

Izuku started at the names, turning to look at the blond as he glared at the girl.

"That means that young Midoriya and young Todoroki are against me!" All Might laughed loudly, "I wish you the best of luck!"

The bus ride over had been silent, Izuku and Todoroki sitting at opposite ends of the bus as All Might watched quietly from the front. They'd arrived at the testing area; All Might disappearing further into the mock city as Izuku and Todoroki waited in the centre for the start signal. Taking a deep breath, Izuku spoke.

"Todoroki-san-,"

"Shut up," The cold boy responded immediately, "I refuse to work with you."

"B-but that's the point of the exam!" Izuku tried, stepping towards the other teen as the buzzer sounded, signalling the start of the test. Todoroki strode ahead, Izuku trying to follow behind him, "Todoroki-san!"

Todoroki remained silent as they walked through the massive complex, built to look like a business area, with tall buildings all around them. He growled as he looked around, immediately turning to duck down an alleyway, Izuku following.

"Look, I…I do regret saying some of the things that I said during the Sports Festival, Todoroki-san," Izuku continued, grimacing slightly at what he was doing, "Especially on National Television. But I meant them. All of them. If you really don't want to be like your father, then change. And the first thing you can do is…is putting aside your hatred and teaming up with me to pass this exam."

Todoroki spun, grabbing Izuku by the shoulder and slamming him against a wall. The two stared at each other, Izuku's emerald eyes pleading with Todoroki's blue and grey. After a moment, the dual-element user stepped back, releasing the Vampire and walking away.

"I refuse to work with a monster. Especially one recognized by a mass murderer."

"A monster?" Izuku sighed, standing firmly behind the other teen as he spoke, "Is that it? Is that the excuse you're going to give to people in the future? That you were too scared to work with a fellow Hero so you couldn't save someone? Are you stupid?!"

"Shut up!" Todoroki roared, spinning on his heel, flames licking at the left side of his face, "I am not afraid of you! Or him! I will win this fight without your help!"

The fist connected with Shoto's cheek, throwing him backwards to the floor. He looked up at Izuku in shock as the smartly dressed teen panted slightly, his green eyes cold as he glared down at the Todoroki.

"And you think that's enough?" Izuku growled, "You think that just because you lost once that you've grown stronger? Don't make me laugh! You're still the same spoiled brat you were before, except now you can be bothered to try!"

"I will win," Shoto growled as he got to his feet, gently rubbing his cheek as he walked away, "Without you."

"There are bigger monsters than me out there, you know. Bigger than your father," Izuku muttered, making the other teen pause, "People like Stain. People that won't hold back when they have the opportunity to kill you. Do you really think that you'll survive long facing them if you can't even face me right now?"

"Shut. Up!" Shoto growled, trying to reign in the flames that flickered across his skin, "Just…shut up!"

"I can understand why you hate me," Izuku sighed, stepping closer to the teen, "And that's fine. I can live with that. But you can't hate yourself, Todoroki! That will get you killed! That will get other people killed!"

"You don't think I know that?" Todoroki screamed, Izuku stepping back as he saw the frustrated tears in the other boy's eyes, "You don't think I felt disgust everyday that I was around that man during my internship? Using his damn quirk while he walked around so pleased with himself that he thought he'd finally managed to break my spirit? You don't think that I tried to listen in on his conversations with his lawyers, just to get something, anything else to expose about him? You don't think I hate being so afraid of what I could become that I can't even rationalize being a Hero anymore?"

"Todoroki," Izuku breathed, stepping towards the other boy as he flinched back, "I…I'm sorry. I never meant-."

"Of course you didn't," Todoroki spat, turning away, "You were too busy being a Hero to care about my feelings. Just like him."

Izuku reeled at the statement, his chest tightening as he stood behind the hetero-chromatic teen. He took a breath, steeling himself as he spoke.

"Then don't let it control you."

"What?" Todoroki growled.

"My trai-…No, my Sire," Izuku paused before continuing, standing straighter as he spoke, "The man who taught me. He told me that no person, no matter how brave, is without fear. But you can't let that fear control you. You have to use that fear to your advantage. Use it to grow stronger."

"And how do I do that?"

"I…I have no idea," Izuku admitted, drawing a glare from the other teen, "I suppose it's different for everyone. And if you don't know why you want to be a Hero, then find one. One that's better than your father. One that's better than you."

"Heh," Todoroki gave a laugh, the sound short and sharp and sounding wholly unfamiliar to the boy, "Like you can talk. Why do you want to be a Hero so badly, anyway?"

"Because…" Izuku trailed off, blinking slightly as he looked down, his mind racing for a moment as he thought.

Why did he want to be a Hero? It was all he'd wanted to be since he was a child. His friends had more noble reasons, wanting to carry on their family's legacy or help their parents live comfortably. What did he want? To save people. Was that it? Was that enough? Izuku looked up, locking eyes with Todoroki once again, Did it really matter?

"Because I want to save people."

"That's it?" his exam partner asked slowly.

"Yes. I want to save people. That's it."

"Who?"

"Any and every person I can."

"Why?"

"Because they need to be saved."

"That…that's ridiculous," Todoroki let out a flat sigh as he turned away, "You can't save everyone."

"But I can try," Izuku said, crossing his arms as he huffed out his nose, "And that's good enough for me!"

The two stood in silence for a moment, Izuku staring at Todoroki's back as the bi-color haired teen seemed to relax slightly.

"What are you scared of?"

"Becoming a monster," Izuku replied without hesitation as Todoroki looked back at him, inspecting his face as they stared at each other.

"What's to say you aren't already?" the dual-element user growled.

"Exactly."

Todoroki stared at Izuku in surprise, looking like he wanted to say something else, but turned away. Izuku blinked as he felt a popping in his ears, eyes going wide for a moment before he leapt forwards at Shoto. The other teen struggled as Izuku tackled him, throwing both teens just out of range of the massive wall of pressure that blasted through the buildings behind them. The two looked at the destruction in shock, jumping when All Might called out.

"Come out, young Heroes! I am getting impatient!"

"Holy…" Izuku breathed, staring at the massive trail All Might had left straight through the center of the training zone. A clear path from one end of the area to the other, All Might standing triumphantly at the far end, just in front of the exit, "And I just called myself a monster…"

"I still don't like you," he heard Shoto say behind him, turning to look at the other teen, who was also staring at the devastation, "But…"

"You don't have to like me for us to work together," Izuku finished as he got to his feet, grabbing the other boy by the arm as he ran past, "Come on, I have half a plan."

Bakugo growled as Aizawa strung him up from the lamp post, scattering caltrops across the ground beneath him. High-class had been all but useless up until now, only mumbling and following behind him. She had a fucking amazing quirk, but the dumb bitch had no idea how to use it! He struggled against the reinforced fabric of the capture weapon, small explosion popping against his thighs, his hands pressed tightly against his legs. A bright flash off to the side made him growl as he looked around.

"Bakugo!"

The blond looked down as High-class undid the capture weapon from the pole, slowly lowering him so he could kick the caltrops away before freeing himself from his bindings.

"Finally made yourself useful," He growled at her as she flinched slightly, before taking a determined step forward.

"I…I have a plan!" she said.

"Fucking really?" Bakugo hissed, his scowl deepening as he wanted to blow her off, one of his meetings with Hound Dog flashing through his mind.

"Asking for help isn't weakness, kid," the beast-like councilor had growled, "In fact, being afraid to ask for help is pretty weak in itself."

"The fuck is that supposed to mean?" Bakugo shouted back, explosions crackling along his palms, scorching the fabric of the chair he was sitting in, "If I can't do it myself, then I'm weak!"

"How well does your quirk work in the rain?"

"What?"

"How well does your quirk work in the rain? Or under water?" Hound Dog repeated.

"It fucking doesn't!" Bakugo barked back.

"So, would you say that you're useless on rainy days? Or during a flood?"

"The fuck did you say to me?!" Bakugo growled, leaning forwards, "I'm never fucking useless! I just know my own weaknesses!"

"Do you?" Hound Dog sighed, scribbling something on his notepad, "How about trusting people?"

"Fuck that!"

"Why?"

"Because…" Bakugo trailed off, staring angrily at the man in front of him, "Because…"

"Fine, let's hear it, High-class," He spat as he darted away with her.

Izuku stared at the destruction around him. He'd just barely been able to push Todoroki out of the way as the second wall of pressure had slammed through the buildings, destroying them and throwing both teens through the air. They landed in a heap in the middle of a road, Izuku jumping to his feet and grabbing Todoroki under the shoulders, dragging him into a nearby building.

"Todoroki, I'm not sure if it'll work because I'm positive that All Might has strong will power but…"

He trailed off as the other teen struggled from his grasp and jumped to his feet, shoving him away.

"This is ridiculous," he said in his monotone voice, frowning, "All Might is too strong. We have to run."

"Good idea," Izuku nodded, "Except he'll be able to come after us."

"What do you propose then?" Todoroki barked as he peeked through a window of the building.

"I can use my Influence on him, but it probably won't last long," Izuku said, noticing that Todoroki seemed to tense at the mention of his power, "It can be resisted by a strong will power…I think. And All Might is almost definitely going to have a lot of that."

"So why bother?"

"Because it may make him at least pause," Izuku continued, sliding up beside the other teen, "Then you hit him with everything you have. Everything."

Mina and Kaminari sobbed as they desperately fled from the collapsing structures around them, Principal Nedzu cackling madly from his seat in the Demolition crane.

"You love him, don't you? Midoriya-kun," Aoyama chuckled as the two of them hung from the banister, Thirteen sucking them backwards with their quirk, "You truly wish to be his "bride", do you not?"

"I-i-it's not like that!" Ochako blinked as her hands slapped against her face in embarassment, sending the girl rocketing towards the rescue Hero, who snapped the cap on her glove shut in surprise. Her training with Gunhead suddenly took over as Ochako pinned the Hero to the ground and slapped the capture handcuffs to their wrist, letting out a slow breath as Aoyama posed behind her.

"Uraraka-Aoyama team passes!" an electronic voice called over the speakers, Ochako hiding her face behind her hands as Aoyama chuckled.

"Got you!" Dark Shadow cried as Ectoplasm looked down at his leg, the capture handcuffs secured over his prosthetic, even as the two teens were pinned down inside his massive clone.

"Asui-Tokoyami team passes!"

Kirishima and Sato lay unconscious on the concrete, Cementos just sighing as he waited for the medical bots to come.

Jiro smiled up at Koda as he carried her out of the arena, the gate letting out a burst of streamers and confetti as they passed under it.

"Boobs can wait for another day!" Mineta said triumphantly as he dragged Sero through the gate.

"S-squish?" Snipe muttered as he stared at the other end of the floating handcuffs.

"Snipe-sensei! How rude!" Hagakure shouted as the older man desperately tried to apologize.

Iida and Ojiro skidded across the ground on their chests as they passed through the gate, the ground crumbling behind them as Powerloader popped up out of the earth.

"Burn mother fucker!" Bakugo screamed as he set an explosion off under Aizawa, the teacher spotting the fluid pooled on the ground below as the copy of his capture scarf swirled around him.

The liquid burst into intense flame, the fabric of the scarf twisting in the heat, snapping tightly around him, the flames vanishing just before he landed on the ground.

"Good work, Yaoyorozu," the man chuckled as the girl approached, slipping the capture cuffs around his ankle just to be safe.

"Sensei, you hesitated-," she started.

"Who fucking cares!" Bakugo cut her off, grabbing the bound teacher by the collar and beginning to drag him towards the exit, "Your plan fucking worked, High-class! Be grateful!"

All Might punched.

And the punch continued through the air as the waved of force slammed into Izuku, throwing the Vampire backwards through a wall.

"You'll have to do better than that if you wish to win, young Midoriya!" The No. 1 called as the building collapsed, "Now, where has young Todoroki gone? Surely, he couldn't have abandoned his partner, could he?"

The wall of ice slammed into All Might, the man simply raising an arm to block as the glacier shattered around him.

"Ah, there you are!"

A torrent of flame drove the man back as he darted toward the teen, All Might raising an eyebrow as the fire died almost immediately, Todoroki not following through with the attack.

"It is good that you are becoming more comfortable with using your fire, young Todoroki!" All Might shouted, "But you cannot use it only for defense!"

He punched again, Todoroki throwing up a wall of ice behind him to prevent himself from being blown back, only succeeding for moment before the ice shattered under the wind pressure. Shoto crashed through the wall of another building. All Might paused for a moment as he watched to see if it would fall, letting out a sigh of relief as the structure suddenly froze over, stabilizing it.

The punch smacked into his back, making him spin on the spot and swipe at the empty air, blinking in surprise as the ash swirled around him, a fist forming out of it and punching him again. He put his arms in front of his face as the blows rained down, the limbs vanishing into a cloud of dust almost as soon as they hit him. He grinned behind his arms, hands snapping out and grabbing both fists just before they landed, squeezing hard before they could crumble. He heard Izuku cry out in pain from behind him, spinning around and hurling the limbs at the startled Vampire. They crumbled to ash before they reached him, quickly reforming on his arms as they locked eyes.

"You'll have to be faster than that to catch me out, young Midoriya!" All Might chuckled.

"𝕾𝕿𝕺𝕻!" the word hit All Might with a surprising amount of force, making him blink in surprise. He tried to step forwards, finding his feet rooted to the spot before he gritted his teeth and forced the muscles to respond.

The wall of ice engulfed him just as he began to move, his head turning to see Todoroki, his left side engulfed in a raging inferno as his right disgorged a torrent of ice, encasing the frozen Hero in a thick sheet of ice. All Might shivered slightly in his prison, amazed for a moment that Todoroki had enough control to leave a small pocket of air just in front of his face for him to breath. His smile widened slightly as he watched the blurred forms of the two teens running away through the thick ice. And then he flexed.

The sound of shattering ice echoed through the air as the two trainee Heroes bolted for the exit. They glanced at each other, grimacing as the shadow passed overhead, both darting in opposite directions as All Might slammed into the ground. Shoto sent out a blast of ice, All Might knocking it away with a light punch, catching Izuku's kick easily as the Vampire struggled to free his foot.

"Good, good!" the massive man laughed, "I had worried that you would not be able to work together due to your conflict at the Sports Festival! I am glad to see I was wrong!"

"Oh, you haven't seen anything yet, All Might," Izuku grinned as the Hero looked down at him in confusion.

All Might's eyes widened as the thin spear of ice shot through the centre of the boy's chest, Izuku biting back a cry of pain as All Might was forced to retreat. He jumped back again as the blades of blood shot from the wound, slamming into the ground. One darted behind the teen's back to cut through the ice, his hand closing around the length that stuck out of his chest, snapping it off with ease before hurling it like a spear at All Might.

All Might scowled as he dodged the attack, looking behind the Vampire to see Todoroki, arms crossed over his chest, apparently bracing for something. Izuku crouched, turning to face the dual-element user, All Might's eyes going wide as his form seemed to flicker for a moment. And then he was gone. Todoroki had apparently vanished as well; All Might blinking in confusion before the two of them reappeared a good distance away. Todoroki threw out his hand, the ground beneath them freezing over just as they slammed into it. Their momentum sent them sliding through the gate even as Izuku coughed up a gout of blood.

"Todoroki-Midoriya team passes!" the electronic voice of the announcement system called as All Might rushed towards them.

"I can't believe that actually worked," Izuku wheezed as he rolled onto his back.

"Neither can I," Shoto groaned, inspecting the dark bruises that were already forming on the backs of his arms. He remained silent for a moment as All Might hovered over them, waiting for the Medical bots, "I still don't like you."

"And that's fine," the young Vampire sighed as he pushed himself up right, "But could you at least help me get this icicle out of my chest? It hurts like hell."

"Ashido, Kirishima, Kaminari, Sato and Sero all failed," Aizawa said flatly as the five in question deflated, "Though you're all still going to the training camp."

"WHAT?!" Mina shrieked as she jumped to her feet, "But you said…"

"Logical ruse," Aizawa grinned creepily at the now excited students, "You lot, of all people, probably need this camp most of all."

"We still get to go!" Kaminari shouted, thrusting his arms back as he let out happy tears.

"And you'll be taking remedial classes while we're there," Aizawa cut off their celebrations, making them all deflate again, "So make sure you have everything on the checklist ready by the assigned date. I'm done."

And with that he walked out of the classroom, the students all quickly starting to talk animatedly about their exams.

"How did Mineta even pass?" Mina moaned as she flopped across Bakugo's desk, the blond swearing at her as she did so, "You guys were up against Midnight, right?"

"Honestly, no idea," Sero chuckled, rubbing the back of his head, "She got me pretty early on, so I was unconscious for most of the exam."

"Uraraka and I had a very enlightening conversation during our exam, mes amies!" Aoyama said as he posed flamboyantly, "Shall I tell you all about it?"

"NO!" Ochako shrieked, leaping across the room to slap her hands over the sparkling blonde's mouth, "Absolutely not!"

The class laughed as the blond started to float in the air, flailing as Ochako kept his mouth clamped shut.

"Huh, I need to get a new bag," Izuku muttered, rubbing his chin.

"I think I'll need some bug spray," Ochako chimed.

"And I need new shoes!" Hagakure called.

"Then let's all go shopping!" Mina cried, the class roaring in agreement.

"Heyo," the man called as he stepped into the small bar, eyes darting over every surface before coming to rest on the young man sitting at the far end beside a small television, "I found some more people to join your little group."

"Giran," Kurogiri said, nodding politely as Shagaraki just glared from behind the hand on his face, "That is good. Send them in."

"Hi hi!" the girl called as she stepped into the room, the messy buns on the sides of her head bobbing up and down as she bounced along, a wide smile on her face, "I'm Himiko Toga! I like cute boys and sweet food!"

The other person didn't speak as he entered, just looking around with an unimpressed look on his scarred and pierced face. The girl tugged at the scarf of her middle school uniform, still grinning as she walked over to the bar, the dark-haired man following her. Shigaraki got up slowly, grabbing his crutch as he walked towards them.

"Huh, so our new boss is a cripple?" the man chuckled, making Shigaraki stop, "Why should we bother working for you?"

"You haven't even given your name yet," Shigaraki growled, fingers twitching, Kurogiri watching carefully as he stared at the two opposite him, "What is it? Then we can talk."

"Me?" the man chuckled again, "For various reasons, I'm going by Dabi right now."

"Dabi?" Shigaraki growled, "What's your real name?"

"You don't need to know."

Shaigaraki stared at them for a moment longer, before turning away, waving his hand back at Giran.

"I don't like them, take them away," he muttered.

"Now, now, Shigaraki, we need all the support we can get right now," Kurogiri said calmly, "Would it not be best to at least see if we can all work together?"

"Work together?" Dabi laughed, "With this cripple?"

Shigaraki dropped his crutch as he lunged towards the two of them, Dabis hand igniting in blue flame as Toga pulled a knife from her pocket, all three attacking. The dark portals opening just in front of them, ther attacks appearing harmlessly in open air as they glared at each other. Toga's smile inched further across her face, her eyes going wild as she looked around, Dabi just scowling as Shigarki stepped back, leaning over to pick up his crutch.

"Fine," the pale-haired man muttered, turning away again, "Put them on the Vanguard Squad. Also, you two, why're your here?"

"Why?" Toga hummed, pressing the back of her knife to her lips, "I hate the current world. It doesn't let me do what I want, so I want to break it so I can cut people up and see blood to my heart's content!"

"All I wish is to see the ideals of Stain come to fruition," Dabi answered, leaning against the bar.

"Great, a psycho and a fanboy," Shigaraki grumbled as he stalked past the two, throwing the door open, "You're in. For now. Now get out. We'll contact you through Giran when it's time. Kurogiri, I'm going out for a bit."

Izuku bit this lip as he waited for the rest of his class to arrive. They were standing in an open plaza in Kiyasha Ward Shopping Mall, the press of people around them making his quirk react. He felt Ochako gently grip his arm, Tsuyu grabbing the other, helping to ground him as he took deep slow breaths.

"Are you okay, Midoriya?" Ojiro asked, glancing over at the three.

"Yeah," the teen muttered, "Just…a lot of people."

"Oh, sorry!" Mina gasped, "I forgot about your quirk! We could have gone somewhere smaller!"

"It's fine!" Izuku assured her, smiling gently, "I wouldn't want to ruin anyone's day by being a bother. I can deal with it."

It took another twenty minutes for the rest of the class to arrive, both Bakugo and Todoroki absent, as they had turned down the invitation.

"Alright! Everyone needs different things, so I suggest we split up and meet back here for lunch!" Mina shouted over the noise of the crowd, the class giving the affirmative.

"We'll stay with you," Ochako said to Izuku as the group split, Ojiro leaving to buy a new jacket, while Iida disappeared to get new shoes, "I just need bug spray and Tsu wanted to get a bag as well."

"Okay," Izuku smiled as he continued to breath slowly, trying to ignore the smell of the crowds around him.

The three wandered around for a while, finding a camping store where they could get everything that they needed.

"Maybe we should message the others and let them know, kero?" Tsuyu said as she pulled out her phone, "Most of the stuff on the checklist can be bought here."

"Great idea, Tsu!" Ochako grinned, turning to Izuku and gasping. He looked pale, his eyes closed as he breathed slowly, head hung low, "Izuku! Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just…hungry," he muttered.

"I'll go get you some juice!" Ochako gasped, looking at Tsu with a worried expression, "Want to go find him something to eat?"

"Yeah," Tsuyu nodded as the two girls helped him sit down on a bench, before hurrying off.

Izuku sat quietly, focusing on his breathing as he tried to block out the noises and smells around him. He twitched as something strangely familiar caught his nose, blinking his eyes open just in time to see the figure sit beside him.

"Well, hello there," the Villain's dry voice cackled as Izuku felt a hand slip around his neck, "Feeling a little under the weather, are we?"

"Tomura Shigaraki," Izuku breathed.

"Yes, that is my name," the young man replied, Izuku trying to turn his head to look at him, feeling the thumb press against his cheek to stop him, "Uh uh, can't have you doing that. Your brainwashing ability works through eye-contact, doesn't it? Try and I'll touch you with all five of my fingers. Then you'll rot from the skin inwards and turn to ash in under a minute."

"H-how'd you find that out?" Izuku gulped, looking down at the finger hovering just above his throat, thoughts racing through his head, "And what makes you think that'll kill me?"

"Oh yes, that little thing you shouted as I was leaving," Shigaraki hummed, "Quite the brave statement. Especially from a child."

"Thanks. And what makes you think I won't just drive a Blood Blade through the back of your head right now?" Izuku tried to sound intimidating, swallowing nervously, "You saw what I did to Stain. The video has been all over the internet."

"Yes, yes. Except, how would all the people around us act to you suddenly murdering an innocent cripple? Maybe they'll see you as the monster you so happily claim to be?" Shigaraki's grin quickly turning to a scowl as he spoke, "As for Stain. That bastard. I'd hoped he would die from that wound you gave him, but it seems you gave him a cleaner cut than me."

Izuku watched as the Villain tapped his thigh, suddenly realizing that the pants of his left leg were a lot less full from just above the knee than the right.

"That's right, you did this to me. Whatever was in your blood, we had to amputate to stop it spreading," the Villain chuckled, before squeezing his hand tighter, Izuku watching the lifted finger twitch, "But enough about me. Back to Stain. I just don't get it. Why is everybody only talking about him?"

"W-what?"

"The League of Villains launched an attack on Hosu. We caused more damage and casualties than Stain did in his entire career, and all anyone cares about is that bastard," he hissed as his head dropped forwards, several strands of his pale hair hanging down out of the dark hoodie, "So why aren't they talking about me?"

"M-maybe because nobody knows what you're about?" Izuku asked, flinching when the man's head shot back up, Izuku feeling his stare on the back of his head, "Stain was about…about exposing corrupt Heroes, right? Then what is your…your "League of Villains" about? Destruction? Chaos? Anyone can do that. There are plenty of Villains that do that every day. The difference between you and Stain is that Stain had a...an Ideology. Something people could identify with. Could latch onto."

"Oh…an Ideology, you say?" the man hummed, squeezing tighter against Izuku's throat, "And what would you suggest be our ideology?"

"Uhm…well, i-if All Might's all about being the…the Symbol of Peace," Izuku muttered, his voice getting higher as the hand closed tighter around his throat, "So maybe…maybe you could go for the opposite?"

"All Might, huh?" Shigaraki growled, his grip suddenly loosening as his voice dropped to a whisper, Izuku turning to look at the grinning face, a shiver running down his spine at the sight, "It always comes back to All Might, doesn't it? Yeah, just like All Might. But the opposite. I like that."

"Huh, who are…you?" Izuku looked up in shock as Ochako spoke, Tsu standing just beside her, food and drinks in their hands, "You…let go of him."

"Stop!" Izuku almost shouted as the two started to step forwards, making them freeze, "It's fine. We're just talking."

"Were talking," the Villain chuckled as he suddenly released Izuku's throat, jumping to his feet and limping back slightly, the teen only now noticing the crutch in his hand, "Thanks kid, you've given me a lot to think about. Next time I see you, I'll make sure to kill you. Oh, and don't try to follow me. Who knows how many people I could kill before the Pros arrive?"

Tsuyu and Ochako jumped to Izuku's side as they three of them watched the Villain vanish into the crowd of people, Tsuyu already phoning the police as Ochako checked Izuku's neck.
