So, this is the last chapter of Emerald Fangs that I'm going to be posting for the next few months. Sorry folks, but I'm seriously getting burned out on it. In the mean time, I'll be working on a different project, which I think you'll like!
I think I'm going to do this "season" thing with most of my fics, writing till I start to get burned out, then moving onto something else to refresh myself and coming back after a while.
Anyway, enjoy the chapter!
(Also, Discord account is on my profile)
"We passed!"
The various groups cheered as they found their names on the massive board, some people walking away sadly. Most of the UHC class had passed, and quite well, according to their scoring sheets, the comments commending them for finding the most efficient ways they could be useful in an emergency and performing those tasks well.
"I got 84," Izuku smiled, "Though I apparently lost points for scaring a few people."
"Sounds about right, Green," Jiro laughed, before looking over Yaoyorozu's shoulder and gasping, "Yaomomo! You got a 97?"
"This is great!" Vesper shouted as she bounced around the group happily, most of them laughing at her antics.
"Nyanyo-san," Izuku said as he approached the cat-like teen.
"Rescue is unnecessary," Nyanyo spat as he sat away from the group, sulking silently, "I see no point in it. I would have gotten more points if you hadn't taken out those Villains!"
"Oh, but it was a punitive test," Izuku said slowly, "There was no way to gain points. Only lose them. Did you…did you not help anyone?"
"Like I said," the teen muttered, "Rescue is unnecessary. I shall leave it to others and simply destroy my enemies!"
"Those who didn't pass, don't despair!" the Procter shouted happily from her podium, "For there is a special three-month training course that you can sign up for! If you take it, you'll have the opportunity to try again in a special test in April! What do you say?!"
Nyanyo leapt to his feet and let out a monstrous "YEEESSS!" over the shouts of the others who'd failed, making most of the group look at the scary cat-like teen in shock.
"You shall see, Midoriya!" he shouted, "I shall not be beaten by you! I shall become a Hero and prove that I am the True Monster of the UHC!"
"UHC?" "What's that guy talking about?" "Didn't he beat up a bunch of people even after he passed the first round?" "I didn't see him helping anyone during the Rescue round either."
"Silence, insects!" Nyanyo shouted, several of the other students shouting back in anger as he began riling them up.
"Hey, pussycat!"
"I am no pu-!" his words cut off as his eyes went blank, Shinso sighing as he commanded the teen to go get changed.
"Can't believe I have to babysit you two," the purple-haired sighed to Izuku, the green-haired teen laughing.
"When have I ever needed to be babysat?"
"You have no idea."
*We passed! *
The message appeared on his phone shortly after receiving his Provisional License card, Izuku about to take a photo to send to his mom and Sire. He opened the attached image, smiling at the photo of Ochako and Tsuyu's cards, sending a picture of his own.
*Anyone fail? * He asked.
*Bakugo and Todoroki. Todoroki had a fight with some guy from Shiketsu during the Rescue portion, and Bakugo was Bakugo. Though he did help us out at the beginning. *
Izuku laughed as he looked around their group, Monoma boasting about how apparently the entirety of 1-B had passed, even without him present. Tokage smacked him on the back of the head, saying that she'd been told to by Kendo. Everyone was excited and happy, even Nyanyo, who seemed determined to pass the next exam.
Izuku smiled as he received another message, looking down at the screen of his phone.
Kai Chisakai stood in the filthy warehouse as he glared at the six people in front of him, his eyes lingering on the two that seemed to be wrapped in tight leather jumpsuits, similar to the one the man, Twice he'd called himself, that had brought him here was wearing. He didn't know why, but he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong with them.
"So, you're Overhaul?" The apparent leader chuckled, the hand covering his face hiding his expression, "Nice to meet you. I'm Shigaraki."
"This guy is famous?" the effeminate man asked.
"He's Yakuza," Shigaraki said, the effeminate one gasping and saying something ridiculous that Kai ignored, eyes darting back to the two leather bound people as the group chatted amongst themselves.
"Ignore them," Shigaraki spoke up, "Those two, and the rest of them as well."
"What are they?" Kai muttered as one of the people seemed to react to his voice, turning its head towards him, only its mouth exposed as it bared a mouth full of sharp fangs at him from behind pale, almost grey, lips.
"Pets, tools, whatever," Shigaraki laughed, "They're useful. Could be useful to you if you decide to work with us."
"Work with you?" Kai almost laughed behind his plague mask, "Why? Because you have links to All for One? That guy was a legend amongst my generation, you know. The Emperor of Darkness. And you think that just because you claim to have some connection to him that you're suddenly in the big time?"
"I'll let you in on a little secret, Overhaul," Shigaraki growled, flexing his hands as he glared at the Yakuza in front of him, "I am Sensei's successor, so you'd better show me some respect."
"You?" Kai did laugh that time, "You're his Successor? And you're squatting in this…filthy place? Try again."
"This is just a meeting place. Do you really think we'd take you to our base first time?" Shigaraki spat, his red eyes glaring out from behind the hand, "And try again? What the hell does that mean?"
"Let me ask it in a different way for you then," Overhaul chuckled, "What's your plan? Do you even have one? Or have you let yourself be led around by One for All your whole life?"
"Plan? I plan to destroy this bullshit Hero Society!" Shigaraki growled.
"Ah, but you see, that's just a goal, and a goal without a plan is just daydreaming," Overhaul said as he took a step closer, tugging on the hems of his gloves, "I have a plan. One that needs a massive amount of funding. Funding that someone like All for One can provide. So how about this? Instead of you working with me, you go to your…what did you call him? "Sensei"? Well, you go to him and tell him I'd like to talk directly to him. Not some little errand boy."
"Errand boy? You think I'm an errand boy?" Shigaraki growled, turning his head slowly to look at the two crouched figures, "You two. Kill him."
The creatures reacted in an instant, leaping from where they'd been crouched directly at the Yakuza. Overhaul wasted no time, his gloves vanishing as he used his quirk, tapping one on the chest and the other on the arm. The first popped like a bloody bubble, the second howling as its arm vanished, sending the creature falling to the floor.
"Is that it?" he asked, before looking down at the pair of legs in front of him, the feet still kicking, his eyes widening as he turned around, "Shield!"
One of the lower level lackeys he'd brought with him dropped down in front of the creature. It wasted no time slamming into him, throwing him to the floor as it sunk its fangs into his neck. It tore the flesh from his throat, seemingly drinking his blood as the Yakuza boss was forced to grab it by the head to stop it. The wall behind him exploded as the rest of his entourage burst through, the plague mask wearing gangsters forming a protective circle around their boss.
Overhaul activated his quirk, the monster howling as it's body suddenly warped, forming into a shapeless mass with only the head sticking out. Disgusted and already breaking out in hives, Overhaul released the creature, staring as it continued to try and attack him, despite the massive amounts of pain it must be in. He looked down at the man lying on the ground, his neck destroyed, the life already having left his eyes.
"What the fuck?" He breathed as he stared at the creature, jumping when Shigaraki spoke again.
"My Sensei says you're good with genetics and all that science shit," the Leader of the League of Villains chuckled, his voice dry and cruel as he glanced at the blob of flesh that had been the creature, "We also have someone like that. He said that the source of those things was rather interesting. What did it do again, Compress?"
"I believe the good Doctor said it overwrites the quirk genes of whoever it is injected into," the masked man said.
"Overwrites…quirk genes?" Overhaul breathed. This was huge, if he could get a sample, how much faster or further could his project go? Could he? Would he have to bow to this child to get it? Or would it be better to bypass Shigaraki and go straight for the top?
"A gift," the hand-masked young man said lowly, a grin stretched across his scarred face, peeking out from behind the hand as it pulled Kai from his thoughts, "A sign of goodwill and all that shit. Compress?"
The masked man nodded, pulling out a small marble and snapping his fingers, the marble suddenly turning into a metal box, which the man placed on the floor. He pushed the case towards Kai with his cane, nodding once the Yakuza could lean down and pick it up. Kai pulled a spare set of gloves from his jacket pocket, slipping them on before picking up the box and opening it. Inside sat five small vials, two labeled with an "S", though one was only about a third full, the lid on the top clumsily resealed, and a thumb-drive.
"And this is?" he asked.
"A sample of the source. And some extra that has been…tested on," Shigaraki replied as he nodded towards the creature that was still trying to kill Overhaul, letting out animalistic snarls and hisses, "And some notes about the quirk from Sensei's personal Doctor."
"Interesting," Overhaul muttered, closing the box, and looking back at Shigaraki, "So, what do you want?"
"Kacchan…" Izuku said as he approached the gates of Field Beta, spotting the blond waiting for him just outside, "I got your message. But it's getting close to curfew and we shouldn't-!"
"Deku," Bakugo cut him off, "You fucking passed, didn't you?"
"Y-yeah," Izuku muttered, "And you…and you didn't."
"Yeah," Bakugo growled, turning to face him, an expression Izuku couldn't recognize on the blonde's face.
"Kacchan, what's going on?"
"What's fucking going on?" Bakugo muttered, turning to Izuku as he spoke, his voice getting louder with each word until he was screaming, "What's going on is you fucking overtook me! You've been beating me since the first day at UA! You were supposed to be a tiny fucking pebble on the side of the road for me! But you just keep on BEATING ME!"
"Kacchan, I-!"
"Shut the fuck up!" Bakugo roared, suddenly going quiet as he continued, "Just…just shut up…and listen."
The two stood in silence for a few minutes, Izuku watching as Bakugo seemed to struggle with something, before the blond finally spoke.
"They've been making me go to counseling."
"Counseling? Who? Since when?" Izuku asked as he stared at Bakugo in disbelief.
"UA. Since the Sports Festival," the blond grunted back, glaring at Izuku, "Didn't I tell you to shut the fuck up?"
"Right! Sorry!" Izuku replied as Bakugo just growled again.
"I've been fucking going, 'cause otherwise they'll expel me," Bakugo continued, glaring when Izuku gasped, "And even if that mutt of a councilor says I don't have to talk about shit while I'm there, I…I do. Because he keeps asking these questions. And I…I don't always know the answers to them."
"Kacchan…"
"And I fucking hate it!" Bakugo spat, "I thought it was a waste of my time, but…"
"What was…?"
"The fucking counselling! Now shut up!" the blond barked, "I thought it was a waste of my time, but…"
"But?" Izuku said quietly.
"Turns out I'm pretty fucked up in the head," Bakugo sighed, crouching down as he slapped a hand to his face, dragging it down over his features, "Apparently being told you were great your whole life can mess you up pretty good."
"R-really?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah," Bakugo sighed, "I honestly thought I was hot shit. Top dog. That I would be the best in UA just like I was at that backwater middle school. But then…"
"Todoroki."
"Not just him!" Bakugo growled, "High-class as well! And you! I had to work my ass off to get in here, training every day since I was twelve, finding places to practice with my quirk in secret so I wouldn't get in trouble. And then I get here and…"
He trailed off, looking up at the sky as he seemed to think about something.
"And then you get a quirk and get to the same level as me in just a few months."
"Kacchan, I'm sor-!"
"I don't want to hear it!" Bakugo barked, "Even though it was faster, you still worked for it and…"
They fell into another uncomfortable silence, Bakugo clenching and unclenching his hands.
"I was weak," the blond eventually said, "Weaker than almost half the class, I think."
"What? No way! Maybe not as strong as Todoroki but definitely not-!"
"Shut the fuck up!" Bakugo yelled as he jumped back to his feet, "I told you to shut up and listen!"
"R-right, sorry."
"I wasn't physically weaker. Or academically. Or even mentally. I was psychologically weaker," Bakugo sighed, going uncharacteristically quiet, "I was…I wasn't prepared to be weaker than other people. I wasn't prepared for the other students to be…to be as strong as me. Like Round-face. Or your fucking Frog"
"Ochako and Tsuyu?" Izuku asked, "What about them?"
"They almost had me, dipshit!" Bakugo yelled, "In the Sports Festival! I almost lost to them! Your women almost beat me! And if they were that strong, how much stronger were you?"
"Kacchan, you know that's unfai-."
"It's unfair to compare them like that," the blonde cut him off, "Yeah. I know. Fuck. Sorry."
"Holy shit," Izuku gasped, "Did…did you just apologize?"
"Yeah I fucking did!" Bakugo growled, "And you better get used to it, cause once I've got this psychological shit down, I'll be stronger than all of you! Especially you and Half-and-half!"
Silence fell between them again as Izuku stared at his childhood friend, a strange feeling building in his chest.
"How?" the blond suddenly asked.
"How?" Izuku repeated, "H-how what?"
"How the fuck do you keep going?" Bakugo growled, stalking towards Izuku, "How the fuck do you keep going knowing that you're some kind of fucking monster? That…that maybe you aren't meant to be a Hero? That you can fucking terrify people?"
"Not meant…Kacchan, what are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about, Deku! We're more alike than I fucking want to think about!" Bakugo shouted, "Me with my…my fucked-up personality and you with…"
Bakugo fell silent again, staring at Izuku before he spoke again.
"I saw," the blond growled, "I saw what you became on the Training Camp. After that crazy bitch stabbed you. That wasn't you, Deku. Whatever it was, it wasn't you!"
Izuku just stared, stunned for a moment.
"What, got nothing to say? Not even going to fucking mutter for once in your life?" Bakugo spat, grabbing Izuku by the collar, "Whatever that thing was, that wasn't you! What are you going to do about it?"
"I'm training," Izuku answered.
"With who?!"
"My…trainer."
"Did they give you this quirk?"
"What?" Izuku asked.
"You were quirkless our whole lives, shitnerd, and you sure as hell didn't just grow one!" Bakugo snarled, dragging Izuku closer until they were almost nose to nose, "You say you're a Vampire, right? So, who fucking Turned you?"
"My…my trainer. My Sire," Izuku answered, Bakugo blinking suddenly, releasing Izuku as he stepped back.
"So, it's actually true," the blond whispered, "That bullshit you said at the start of the term. That you've been saying all this time…What the fuck? What the fuck?"
"Kacchan-!"
"Stay the fuck away from me!" Bakugo shouted, stepping back as he placed a hand over his face, "I just…I gotta…fuck. You said you…holy shit…did you really…did you really fucking die?"
"What?" Izuku asked, flinching back as Bakugo glared at him.
"Did you really fucking die?" he growled again, taking a step forwards, "You said you died to get your quirk at the start of the year! Did you really?"
"Well, technically?" Izuku said, giving a soft 'eep' as Bakugo grabbed him by the collar again, words tumbling from his lips, "I mean, yes? I think? My Sire said I probably did! Or at least that my heart stopped! But he fed me some of his blood and it started again! So, I was dead. But only for a few seconds! Half a minute at most!"
"But you still fucking died," Bakugo growled, stepping back again, "Shit."
"Uhm…yeah, I guess."
The two teens stood in silence for a while, staring at each other as they tried to process what they'd just learnt. Eventually, Bakugo spoke again.
"Hey De-…no, Izuku. Fight me."
"What?" Izuku gasped, "But curfew-!"
"Not now, you idiot!" Bakugo growled, "Later. We'll ask one of the fucking teachers if we can have a no holds barred spar or some shit. Maybe I can ask the mutt, tell him it'll help sort some of our shit out."
"But…but why?"
"Cause I gotta prove that I'm not afraid!"
"You, afraid? Afraid of what?"
"What the fuck do you think, dipshit?" Bakugo shouted, "You! Myself! The fucking future! Everything!"
"Oh," Izuku said, swallowing as they fell back into an uncomfortable silence. After a minute, he blinked, "Kacchan, you…"
"What?" the blond barked.
"You called me 'Izuku'."
"Well, it's your fucking name isn't it?" Bakugo growled, turning away, "Let's get back to the dorm, fucking Deku. I don't need to get in trouble because you're being a dipshit over a name."
"I…" Izuku paused, letting a small smile cross his lips, "Thank you, Katsuki."
Bakugo paused for a second, before continuing to walk, Izuku following close behind.
Aizawa scowled at the two of them as they walked up to the dorm.
"And?" he growled.
"We needed to talk," Bakugo said, "Away from the extras."
"And?" the man repeated.
"We talked," the blond said as he stalked past, pushing into the dorm.
"Midoriya?" Aizawa asked, turning to the Vampire, "You two barely made it back before curfew. Why shouldn't I punish you anyway?"
"Because we really just talked," the teen replied, "Kacchan is…He's doing a lot to get better. It wouldn't help him to punish either of us now."
Aizawa raised an eyebrow, before nodding, stepping aside to let the other teen enter.
"Next time, ask one of the teachers for a quiet place to talk," Aizawa grumbled as Izuku walked past, "You shouldn't have been out on the practice fields this late without an escort, anyway."
Izuku froze for a second, looking at his homeroom teacher, before hurrying into the building.
"Work studies," Aizawa said as he stood at the front of the class, "Now that most of you have your Provisional licenses, you'll be able to take part in work studies."
"Huh? But what are work studies?" Kaminari asked as he played with the fur on the end of Ojiro's tail, "The Principal mentioned them in his speech, but…"
"They're similar to your Internships, except now you'll actually be able to take part as Heroes," Aizawa explained, Ochako jumping to her feet as she shouted.
"But then what was the point of trying so hard in the sports festival?" she gasped, "And our internships? If we only get to act like actual Heroes now!"
"Those were more for you to learn about the system and get a feel for things," Aizawa sighed, glancing at Izuku, Iida and Tsuyu as he spoke, "Despite some students getting involved in…extra activities. Now you're going to be able to properly get your feet wet. Within reason, of course."
"Oh, awesome!" "This is so cool!" "I can't wait!"
"But," the word sat heavily in the air as Aizawa said it, quieting the class almost instantly, "There has been some opposition to it. Some of the staff think that the first years shouldn't be allowed to participate this year. We'll be having a conference in a few days to decide."
"What?" "No way!" "I want to go!" "TAKE THAT!"
The last shout was from Bakugo as he sat at his desk, a wide grin on his face.
"That being said, I'm for allowing you to participate," Aizawa continued, "We can't coddle you just because of the danger some Villains pose. You'll be facing real Villains after you graduate, so we can't let you fall behind now."
"Woo!" "Thank you, Sensei!" "I hope you win!" "DAMMIT!"
"Now," Aizawa sighed as the class cheered, "On to the rest of the day."
"Uhm…Izuku?"
The green-haired teen looked up from his lunch as the three of them sat on the roof. The other usual members of their group were noticeably absent today, as Iida had Class President work to attend to, and Ojiro had said something about asking Yaoyorozu for more tutoring. Now he was alone with Tsuyu and Ochako, something that only a few months ago would have made the young man unbearably anxious, but now just felt natural.
"Yeah?" he asked as he finished off his food, forcing down the last bites as his stomach growled for something else.
"C-can you come with me quickly?" the brunette said, grabbing his hand and pulling him off the bench they were sitting on. Tsuyu gave a slight smile as she watched them walk off.
"What's wrong?" Izuku asked as Ochako led him around a corner, out of sight of most of the roof, a deep blush on her face as she turned to look at him.
"I…Uhm…I was wondering…" she started, clenching her fists as she looked up into his eyes before she blurted out what she wanted to say, "Could you drink from my neck today?"
"I…what?" Izuku blinked as he stared at her, partially in shock as he felt his cheeks heat up, "Y-you…you want that?"
Ochako nodded as she reached up to her collar and undid the top two buttons, loosening her tie as she did so. Izuku could only stare as she tilted her head to the side, closing her eyes as she pulled the collar aside, exposing the soft pale skin of her neck to him. Izuku felt something in him rise, his Hunger boiling in his stomach as he stared at her neck, unconsciously licking his lips as he leant forward.
Ochako gasped as she felt his cool lips touch her neck, shivering as his fangs dragged over her skin. A sharp prick sent a pulse of pleasure through her body as she pressed herself against Izuku's chest, curling her hands into his shirt, biting her lip as she fought back a moan. The sound of him swallowing made her tighten her grip on his shirt, pressing even closer to him.
He swallowed again, the sound echoing in Ochako's ears, making her whimper slightly. She almost jumped as she felt him wrap his arms around her, hugging the brunette even closer to him, sending a wave of happiness through her as her breathing grew ragged. The third gulp made her let out a quiet moan, growing slightly light-headed as he drank her blood. The next moment, his lips left her neck, making her shiver at the sudden loss of contact, wanting him to keep going. To never stop.
"Are you okay?" he asked, looking down at her as she opened her eyes, the edges of his shimmering slightly as she stared into them.
"Uh huh," she breathed, still feeling slightly unsteady on her feet as she pressed against him, "Just a little dizzy."
"Oh…uhm…we can…we can stay like this until you feel better," Izuku mumbled as he adjusted his arms to hold her more securely, Ochako feeling a thrill run up her spine.
"I'd like that," she hummed as she rested her head against his shoulder, a happy smile on her face.
"Wow, so you really do drink their blood," the voice said after a minute, the two looking up at the strangely plain face that stared at them from the wall, "I thought it was just a rumour."
The two shrieked as they shot apart, Izuku clutching his chest as Ochako hid her bright red face behind her hands, already starting to float away.
"Oh, sorry," the face said, giving them a wide grin, "Didn't mean to scare you."
"W-who are you?!" Izuku asked as he activated Blood Sight, blinking as he saw the outline of the stranger's body passing through the wall, two other figures standing behind him on the other side, "How are you doing that?"
"Hmm? I'm a rare creature!" the face said, still smiling brightly, "Anyway, I have to go now! See you in a few days!"
"A few what?" Izuku asked as the face vanished into the wall, the teen watching as one of the figures seemed to hand the owner something, before he moved like he was putting on a shirt, "What the hell?"
"What's going on?" Tsuyu asked as she walked around the corner, "I heard you guys shout. Did something go wrong?"
"I…I don't know," Izuku answered as the frog-like girl shot out her tongue to pull Ochako back to the ground so she could release her quirk safely, "I honestly don't know."
A few days passed since the face had spoken to them, Izuku letting it slip to the back of his mind as he focused on schoolwork and Hero practice.
"We have special guests today," Aizawa droned as he walked over to the door of the classroom, pulling it open, "They're taking time off of their work studies to come here and tell you about them, so be grateful. Out of all of UA, these three are the top reigning third years, and so are called the Big Three."
Izuku blinked as the three figures entered, his jaw dropping as he recognized the face that had spoken to him a few days before. The other two followed behind him, the blue-haired girl smiling brightly as the dark-haired boy hunched over, trying to hide his face.
"Let's have you introduce yourselves," Aizawa said, "Starting with you, Amajiki."
The dark-haired boy glared at the class, Izuku recoiling under the intense gaze, before the wave of fear hit him. He blinked, suddenly realizing that the older boy had mumbled something then spun around, pressing his head against the wall and saying "I wanna go now!" the rest of the class reacting in surprise. The girl didn't do much better as she introduced them both.
"That's Tamaki Amajiki, and I'm Nejire Hado, and we're here to tell you about our work studies, but hey!" she said, suddenly jumping forwards and unleashing a barrage of strange questions at the class, giving none of them the time to answer before she jumped to the next. She grinned down at the startled Izuku as she hopped in front of his table, "So it's really true that you drink blood? Like a Vampire?"
Izuku just stared at her, the girl blinking at him silently, as if waiting for something.
"Aren't you going to answer?" she suddenly asked, the rest of the class face-faulting as Izuku raised an eyebrow.
"Uhm…I expected you to move on before I cou-," he stopped halfway through his answer as Nejire darted off towards Mina, playing with the girl's horns as she unleashed another barrage of questions.
"Don't worry, Eraserhead!" the final of the three said as he grinned at the class, "I'm the main act here, anyway!"
"They're all kind of weird, aren't they?" Sato whispered as the rest of the class muttered.
"So, you most of you got your Licenses as first years, huh? Real bunch of go getters, aren't you?!" the blond shouted, "In that case, since our talk is going badly, how about you all take me on!"
"I'll go first." "I'm fucking this bastard up first!" Izuku and Bakugo looked at each other in surprise as they both stepped forwards.
"Bakugo, Todoroki, you two don't have a License," Aizawa sighed, pointing towards them, "So the two of you can't participate."
"FUCK!" the blond growled as he stalked over to the side of the room, glaring at the rest of the students as they prepared.
"How about you all come for me at once?" Togata laughed as he watched the other boy walk off, "That way it might be fair!"
"Fair?" Kirishima asked, "We've fought against Pros, even if they were handicapped, and faced real Villains before. Don't underestimate us!"
The class moved as one, the melee fighters charging forwards as the rest of the class prepared their ranged attacks. The world seemed to freeze around Izuku as he shot forwards, darting behind the senior student as Celerity ran out, Iida also moving to flank. The Vampire blinked as their Senpai's clothes suddenly passed through him, falling to the ground as the girls gave a shocked cry.
"Sorry," Togata laughed, pulling his pants back up, "It's difficult to fine tune this!"
Izuku's hand passed straight through the blonde's head as he punched, making the Vampire blink as he stumbled forwards, right into the attacks of his fellow classmates. He burst into a cloud of ash a moment before they landed, watching as they too passed straight through the older boy. They all leapt to the sides as a wave of ranged attacks from their other classmates slammed into the blond, all passing harmlessly through him even as he looked away. A moment later he literally fell into the floor.
"He has some kind of phasing quirk!" Izuku shouted, reforming from the ash, "Watch your feet! He might be able to come up through the ground!"
"Ooh, good advice!" Togata's voice said from behind him, the Vampire activating Celerity and spinning around to back hand the blond, his hand passing straight through his head even as time was slowed. Togata smiled as Celerity wore off, speaking before he dropped straight down into the earth, "I figured you'd go for the head."
Izuku activated Blood Sight, charging after the figure under the ground as he made a strange pose, and then shot forwards almost too fast to follow. Izuku looked up in the direction he'd headed, about to shout a warning, before Togata appeared from the ground beneath the ranged attackers. Izuku blinked, and they were down. Wrapped in tape or earlobes, or just plain knocked unconscious, more than half the class had been beaten in an instant. Togata wasted no time vanishing back beneath the ground just as Izuku caught up with him, watching as he shot off towards the melee fighters.
"He's heading for you guys!" the Vampire shouted, Kirishima hardening just as the blond shot from the ground, slamming a fist into his stomach and throwing him through the air. The rest of the physical squad was taken out just as easily with a shout of "POWER!", leaving Izuku standing alone against this suddenly insurmountable foe.
"Your eyes are glowing again," Togata said as he pulled his pants up a second time, "Is that part of your quirk?"
"Yeah," Izuku hummed, swallowing slightly, "I can see the blood inside of people. It only works for about five meters though. 𝔖𝔗𝔒𝔓"
"Oh, cool!" Togata laughed, making Izuku start, "My quirk is Permeability. Though it makes me permeable to everything, including light, air and sound."
"Oh shi-" Izuku barely got the word out before Togata dropped back into the ground, the silhouette of his blood shooting up from the ground towards the Vampire an instant later, Izuku coughing as the fist slammed into his gut, his body splitting in two.
"Woah!" Togata called as Izuku turned completely to ash, "Thought I had you there!"
"You made your ears permeable earlier, so you couldn't hear the command of my Influence," Izuku said as he swirled around the teen, sending tendrils of ash to whip at him, each passing through harmlessly, "How did you hear what I said though?"
"He didn't!" Nejire called from the sidelines when Togata didn't respond, just blankly staring at the ash that swirled around him, "He read your lips! He can't hear you right now!"
"Oh," Izuku said, drawing back as he reformed out of the ash, Togata turning to look at him, "Senpai, how about we drop the tricks? Just a plain fist fight, no quirks?"
"Ooh, that sounds interesting," Togata laughed, walking over to Izuku, "Okay problem child! I'm game!"
"FUCKER!" Bakugo screeched from the sidelines, "YOU WERE MEANT TO FIGHT ME FIRST!"
"Sorry, Kacchan," Izuku replied, "But I have to try this."
The fist met his face before Izuku could react, throwing his head back as he staggered. He barely managed to lift his arms to block the second punch, which lifted him from the ground and made his bones groan under the force. Togata dodged easily as Izuku attacked, sliding out of the way as the teen threw a series of punches and kicks at him. Izuku watched, unleashing a barrage of strikes, waiting for the perfect moment.
There!
Izuku changed his rhythm, switching naturally from a simple boxing position to a martial arts stance, his leg sweeping out under Togata, actually managing to catch the third year's ankles. The older boy just grinned as he fell, hands slamming into the ground and holding his body up as his legs shot into the air, a savage kick colliding with Izuku's head a moment later, throwing him back onto the ground.
"Looks like I win!" Togata laughed as Izuku fell onto his back, finally allowing himself to heal from the injuries he'd sustained, Togata holding out a hand to help him up, "But you definitely put up a good fight! Where'd you learn to fight like that, anyway?"
"From my Sire," Izuku said as he accepted the hand from Togata.
"From Sir?" the blond asked, obvious confusion on his face, "But…?"
"Well, what did you learn?" Togata laughed as class 1-A stood in front of him, all of them staring at him in amazement after he'd explained his quirk, "It's all down to foresight and experience! I trained myself and my foresight until I could predict what was going on in the environment around me!"
"But how?" Sero asked, looking down at his hands.
"Ah, well, that's a bit of a trade secret!" Mirio laughed as he patted his chest, "Between me and my-."
"He would randomly hit you until you could phase through anything coming your way," Izuku interrupted, making the class look at him in surprise, "My Sire did the same thing. Did you also have to wear a blindfold?"
"Only at first," Mirio laughed, his face going pale for a second as both of them gave a shiver, "Only at first."
"Wait, the two of you went through the same kind of training?" Kaminari huffed, "No wonder Midoriya was able to last so long against you, Senpai! That's so unfair!"
"No!" Izuku said hurriedly, "It was mostly luck on my part!"
"Nonsense!" Mirio interrupted, slinging an arm over Izuku's shoulder, "You did well all on your own!"
"I'LL STILL KICK BOTH YOUR ASSES!" Bakugo shouted.
Not enough.
The world warped around them, twisting and turning as they stumbled through the alleyway.
Thirsty.
The figure came into view. A drunk man, urinating on the wall, his long green hair tied in a messy ponytail.
There you are.
The blade entered his heart through his back before he could react, his body collapsing like a puppet with cut strings.
So thirsty!
Their fangs bit into his neck, the man choking as he struggled weakly under them, hands held down by a too strong grip.
Wrong! Wrong blood! WRONG BLOOD!
Izuku gasped as he woke up, his mind fuzzy as he stared at the ceiling. A shiver ran down his spine as he could still vaguely taste the man's blood on his tongue, the teen jumping out of bed and grabbing his phone.
"Sensei," he said after the man picked up a moment later, "Have I left the dorm tonight?"
